As you adjusted the strap of your bag on your shoulder and brushed a loose strand of hair away from your face, you glanced at your school uniform, sighing in resignation. You had forgotten the team uniform at home, which made you the only one in the group wearing the school uniform. Everyone lined up, bowed in respect to the coach, and started boarding the bus.
You took a seat by the window, placing your bag to the side, while Tanaka's laughter echoed from the back of the bus. He was trying to cheer up Hinata, who clearly looked nervous. You rested your head on the seat, feeling your eyelids starting to close. "I could get a little sleep, right?" you thought, considering the trip would take some time. You closed your eyes, trying to ignore the background noise and relax.
However, the calm atmosphere was abruptly broken by a scream of panic. Opening your eyes, you found yourself facing an unexpected scene: Hinata, pale and looking regretful, had accidentally thrown up on Tanaka's lap. Chaos ensued; Tanaka was shouting, desperately asking the driver to pull over, while the rest of the team looked on in bewilderment, unsure of how to react.
Finally, the bus stopped in front of the rival team's school. Daichi turned to you with a mix of panic and plea. “Hey, Y/N… do something,” he said, visibly uncomfortable.
“M-me? What do you expect me to do?” you asked, unable to hide your surprise at his request.
Tsukishima, in his usual ironic tone, chimed in. “Aren't you the assistant coach? You’re supposed to be here for our well-being. Go on, do something,” he said, frowning.
You cursed internally, but you knew that, even if you didn't like it, he had a point. With a sigh, you got up and approached Hinata, who was still apologizing to Tanaka in nervous mumbles.
“Hinata, are you okay?” you asked, keeping a safe distance as you extended a hand to pat his back. “Would you like some water?”
“Yes… yeah, I think I'm okay,” he muttered, though his tone betrayed otherwise. “Tanaka, I’m really sorry,” he added, looking at him with guilt.
Tanaka tried to downplay the incident, smiling in an attempt to ease his teammate's discomfort. “Hey, it’s no big deal! How are you feeling now?” he asked, giving him a pat on the shoulder. “Come on, we need you for today’s match. Just like in that three-on-three game, okay? Let me spike freely.”
But instead of motivating him, the added pressure made Hinata even more nervous. He barely managed to stammer out a “I-I’ll do my be…” before abruptly stopping. “I’m going to the bathroom!” he suddenly blurted, darting off toward the school building.
You shook your head, looking at Tanaka with disapproval. “You shouldn’t pressure him so much. He needs a moment to calm down.”
Then, you followed the team to the gym. The place, identified as gym three, was impressive: several players were training with precision and skill, showing a level of expertise worthy of a high-performance team. During the first set, you kept a low profile, shadowing Takeda-sensei from one side to the other without much involvement. You watched the game attentively, although the start was a bit shaky. Hinata’s nerves seemed to affect the team, slowing down their pace and causing a few missed plays.
Your eyes wandered around the gym, looking for something to capture your attention, until something happened: in the middle of a messy play, Hinata hit the ball so clumsily that it ended up striking Kageyama directly in the head. You covered your mouth to stifle a laugh, but Tsukishima’s sarcastic remarks and Tanaka’s laughter finally made you burst out laughing.
Taking advantage of a break in the game, you decided to climb up to the upper bleachers, looking for a quieter spot. Among the students from Aoba Johsai, your gaze landed on a familiar face. As you approached, you recognized her instantly: your sister.
“What are you doing here?” you asked, surprised, as you leaned slightly on the metal railing, feeling its coldness against your fingers before stopping beside her.
She, with a casual attitude, also leaned against the railing, smiling lightly. “Isn’t it obvious? I study here,” she replied matter-of-factly.
You rolled your eyes, feeling a slight irritation. “I already know that. I mean... why aren’t you at home?”
Your sister gave a slight shrug. “I heard the Karasuno team was having a practice match today and thought it’d be interesting to see how they perform.” Her gaze shifted between the court and you. “Plus, I remembered that you’re part of the team now.”
You raised an eyebrow, somewhat skeptical. “Really? You came just to see me?” you asked, unable to hide the surprise in your tone.
“Of course not,” she replied, pursing her lips and looking at you with slight disdain. “I heard the Karasuno team was good and got curious about how they are now.” Both of you turned your attention back to the court just in time to see the ball hitting Hinata in the face again.
“Well, the team still has a few rough edges to smooth out,” you admitted, watching the play as you tried to find something positive in the situation.
Fortunately, the game continued, and little by little, the Karasuno team began to improve. Hinata, with his characteristic boundless energy, returned to the court and managed to pull off a series of impressive spikes that left everyone stunned. You couldn’t help but feel your heart race with joy as you cheered for the guys from where you stood, even though you knew they couldn’t hear you. Karasuno won the second set, filling you with hope for the next one.
Suddenly, you gave a small jump at the sound of some girls’ excited cheers for a brown-haired boy who had just entered the court. You elbowed your sister and, pointing at the new player, gestured with your head. “Who’s that?” you asked, squinting to try and see him better from your spot.
“That’s Toru Oikawa, the team captain,” she explained calmly, her gaze clearly bored as she watched the tall boy on the court. “He’s pretty good at playing—” Another wave of screams and female praise interrupted her explanation, and with a hint of disdain, she concluded, “And quite popular.”
All the air you’d held in your lungs escaped as you saw Oikawa’s clean and precise serve. You frowned; he was very good. Damn, let’s be real—he was more than good.
Oikawa quickly picked up on the weaknesses in the opposing team’s reception. He noticed that Tsukishima and Hinata weren’t as strong in that area and focused his attacks on them, especially the blond. Yamaguchi, visibly worried, almost had a heart attack just watching the brunette go all-out against his friend.
“Come on, Tsukishima!” you encouraged him from your position, giving him a thumbs-up and drawing the entire team’s attention toward you. Your sister also raised her thumb in support, though with less enthusiasm.
To your surprise, Tsukishima responded with the same gesture, and the rest of the team followed suit without hesitation. Then, they all quickly returned to their positions. Daichi, observing the situation, adjusted Tsukishima and Hinata’s positions; the captain stayed in the center, expanding the team’s defense.
But Oikawa, as sharp as ever, wasted no time. He sent another serve toward Tsukishima, a precise and fast serve that made you hold your breath. Fortunately, the blond managed to save the ball with an incredible reaction. The ball rose in the air, moving from one team to another as everyone watched, tense and nervous. Finally, Hinata, with his characteristic drive, made a decisive spike. The ball passed just by Oikawa, bouncing out of his reach.
The gym fell completely silent, all eyes fixed on the court, stunned by the play. “Well, that was impressive,” your sister commented beside you, straightening her posture and staring at Hinata.
“Takeda-sensei congratulated us, but if we’d faced Seijoh with Oikawa at his best, we wouldn’t have made it,” Daichi reflected as everyone left the gym. The warm light of the sunset cast golden tones over the scene, creating a peaceful atmosphere that eased the moment’s tension.
“Well said, captain,” came a voice from the entrance. It was Seijoh’s captain, leaning dramatically against one of the walls by the exit.
“The great king makes his appearance,” Hinata said, his exaggerated tone causing a slight look of confusion on your face. Tanaka, as always, stepped forward confidently.
“What’s your problem?” Tanaka challenged him, walking boldly toward him. Hinata followed close behind, almost hiding behind him, repeating every word his senpai said. “You wanna fight?”
“Don’t be so hostile,” Oikawa replied with a relaxed gesture, crossing his arms and looking at the two with an amused smile. “But hey, that touch and spike was incredible,” he complimented Hinata, who, visibly embarrassed, rubbed the back of his neck, unsure of what to say in response.
“Next time, we’ll go all out from the start,” Oikawa declared, his tone filled with determination. “Did you notice our positioning? We’ll also be improving our serves.” You saw how Tsukishima tensed upon hearing those words. Without missing a beat, Oikawa continued, “Your attack is impressive, I won’t deny it, but your receptions leave a lot to be desired, and you’re about to hit your limit.”
Oikawa took a step closer, with the confidence of someone who knew his skills well. “I’m not the only one with powerful serves. The Inter-High preliminaries are right around the corner, so don’t get knocked out too easily,” he said, before stopping in front of Kageyama and pointing at him firmly. “I want to face my dear ex-teammate in an official match.”
As you listened to the exchange, you let out a sigh of boredom. The challenging attitudes and rivalries between them seemed endless, and you were already thinking about heading home; hunger was starting to take over.
Finally, after more talk to which you barely paid attention, the team said goodbye and set off on the trip back. Hinata decided to sit with you on the bus, and you, taking advantage of his closeness, settled in and rested your head on his shoulder. Though the situation was a bit uncomfortable due to his constant fidgeting — he seemed unable to stop talking and gesturing in excitement — you smiled at his enthusiasm as he explained his training plans and his excitement to meet the “Guardian Deity of Karasuno” in great detail.
Tumblr media
You watched intently as Kageyama prepared to serve the ball. His goal was clear: to hit the empty water bottle you had placed on the other side of the net. The young setter took his time, calculating every angle before hitting the ball with characteristic power.
Both of you held your breath as the ball flew through the air, following a near-perfect trajectory toward its target… until Hinata rushed in, determined to intercept it.
“Don’t get in the way, Hinata, idiot!” Kageyama shouted, visibly frustrated. You let out a soft sigh of frustration and walked over to the court to retrieve the ball… but you quickly realized it had disappeared from view.
Immediately, Hinata ran toward you and positioned himself behind you, as if your presence was a shield against Kageyama’s anger. You smiled, resigned, just as the black-haired setter grabbed another ball, throwing it again with renewed precision, expecting that this time he would hit his target.
Suddenly, something shot past you at full speed, making your eyes widen in surprise. A boy, notably fast with a blonde tuft of hair, lunged toward the ball and made an impeccable reception, neutralizing Kageyama’s serve with surprising agility.
Hinata and you stared at him, impressed.
You and Hinata exchanged a glance before he, as impulsive as ever, approached the newcomer. “Oh, you’re shorter than me!” he exclaimed in astonishment, leaving the other boy clearly offended.
“What did you say?” the boy replied immediately, his tone hurt and his brow furrowed. Before he could say anything else, Hinata quickly stepped back, positioning himself behind you as if you were a human shield.
“I’m sorry!” he apologized hastily, barely peeking out from behind your shoulder. Then, with innocent curiosity, and without moving from his position, he asked, “Uh… how tall are you?”
The boy furrowed his brow even more, crossing his arms in a defiant gesture before responding with unexpected firmness for his size. "I’m 1.59 meters," he said, leaving Hinata visibly surprised.
“This is the first time I’ve seen someone shorter than me since I entered high school,” Hinata commented, his voice full of awe as he covered his face with his forearm as if crying tears of joy.
Immediately, you noticed the change in the boy’s expression, clearly not taking the joke well. You could see his face turning red.
“Shoyo, don’t say that,” you whispered softly, noticing how the other boy began to take steps back, clearly irritated by Hinata’s comment.
“Noya-san!” Tanaka greeted, his usual tone as he approached with a wide smile.
"Hello, Ryu," the boy replied with a nod, maintaining his composure. Daichi and Sugawara also exchanged greetings with him, calling him by his name, Nishinoya.
I’ll introduce you to Nishinoya,” Daichi said, noticing the confused looks from Hinata, Kageyama, and you. “He’s a second-year.”
"Hello," you said, raising a hand in greeting. Hinata, with his usual energy, repeated the word in unison.
Nishinoya looked at both of you with a playful smile before casting a calculating glance at Kageyama, who still seemed a bit upset about what had happened earlier.
“You guys are first-years, huh?” Nishinoya commented, evaluating the newcomers, then pointed directly at Kageyama with a mischievous grin. “You! The guy with the ugly look... What middle school did you come from?”
“Kitagawa Daiichi,” Kageyama replied with his usual serious attitude.
“Really! That’s a good school, no wonder you play like that,” Nishinoya praised him, his tone full of energy. “We played against you and lost 2 to 1, your serves were great too.” Nishinoya’s enthusiasm was palpable, and his genuine laugh seemed to break the tension that had been building in the air.
You watched, amused, as the guy was the louder, faster version of Hinata, but with an energy that seemed endless, something that, somehow, made his presence even more unstoppable.
“Nishinoya, what middle school did you come from?” you asked, genuinely interested in learning more about him.
“Chidoriyama,” he replied proudly, his chest puffing out as he mentioned the name of his old school.
“That’s a really good one,” Kageyama commented, visibly surprised by the answer. “Why did you come to Karasuno? Was it because Coach Ukai was coming back?”
Nishinoya paused dramatically, everyone looking at him expectantly, waiting for his response.
“Because…” He paused, stretching out the mystery, and when everyone thought he was going to say something serious, his expression changed, and his voice became completely cheerful. “I like the girls' uniforms! A lot!” he said as if that were the most serious reason in the world.
“What…?” you blurted, confused, frowning. “Just because of the uniform?” You looked at Nishinoya in disbelief. “You can’t be serious!”
“Just because of the uniform!” Nishinoya replied, not losing any of his enthusiasm. “And all the girls are just like I expected.” He continued, waving his arms around as he spoke. “And especially because the boys' uniform is black. At my school, we wore blazers! I always thought Karasuno’s uniforms were awesome. They’re not brown or gray, they’re black,” he explained, pointing to his own uniform with a completely satisfied expression. “And the girls' uniform is cute. Plus, it’s close to home. It was obvious!”
He paused for a moment to look at Kiyoko, who had just entered the gym still wearing her school uniform. Nishinoya, as if he had just seen his beloved after a long time, ran toward her with the same overflowing energy that characterized him.
Before he could get too close, Kiyoko, quick as always, slapped him, the sound echoing in the air. Nishinoya didn’t seem offended in the slightest. With an even bigger smile, he returned to you as if nothing had happened.
“And where’s Asahi-san? Has he come back yet?” Nishinoya asked, searching for the next member of the team. The air seemed thick with anticipation to see the rest of the members.
“No,” Daichi replied with a note of disappointment in his voice. The news seemed to bother Nishinoya even more, as he frowned and clenched his fists, visibly irritated.
"That crybaby!" Nishinoya growled, raising his voice in frustration about Asahi.
"Hey, Noya, don’t talk about your teammate like that," Tanaka scolded, but Nishinoya didn’t seem to regret his words. He finally declared he wouldn’t come back until Asahi did, and with that, he left the gym, leaving a tense atmosphere behind.
"Y/N," Kiyoko’s soft, calm voice called you, pulling you from your thoughts. You walked over to her as she held her clipboard in her arms, looking slightly concerned. "I need your help."
"Of course, what’s going on?" you asked, eager to help with whatever she needed.
"Well," Kiyoko began, speaking in a low tone as if sharing a secret, "I was planning on ordering uniforms for the new players, but I don’t have their exact sizes."
"Do you want me to ask them?" you inquired, not fully understanding why she was whispering. She gently shook her head.
"No, no, Daichi wants it to be a surprise," she explained, as if that clarified everything. "I’m asking you because I know you spend more time with them. Can you do it?"
You thought for a moment. It would be a bit tricky, but not impossible. After a brief silence, you smiled confidently. "Yes, count on me!"
Kiyoko smiled gratefully at you, and for a moment, you felt completely charmed by her kindness. Honestly, Kiyoko had such a warm and charming presence that it was hard not to feel captivated by her.
"Thank you, Y/N," she said, her voice soft and appreciative. "I know you’ll do it."
The afternoon passed quietly, with the boys immersed in their practice. Hinata, as energetic as always, managed to convince Nishinoya to at least join the sessions, although, as expected, Nishinoya couldn’t sit still for too long. In the meantime, you took the opportunity to follow up on what Kiyoko had asked.
When most of the boys finished cleaning up and getting ready to head home, you approached Hinata. He, with his usual boundless energy, was trying to learn Nishinoya’s reception technique, but seemed to be struggling. You walked cautiously behind him, focusing on the details, and quickly, with a swift gesture, grabbed the neck of his shirt, pulling it toward you to look for a size tag.
"Y/N! What are you doing?! Let me go!" Hinata, surprised, tried to wriggle free from your grip, but you couldn’t help but smile at his reaction. He moved awkwardly, like a caught tadpole, trying to escape your hold.
"Don’t move," you ordered firmly, not letting go. The others, seeing the scene, started to look at you with confusion, surprised by the unusual situation unfolding before them. Your feet tangled, causing both of you to fall to the ground with a thud. You didn’t waste time, and without thinking, you pinned Hinata down, pressing your knee to his back to make sure he couldn’t get up.
Finally, after a few seconds, your effort paid off: you saw the "M" tag on his shirt. Now you just needed to get the size of his pants.
"Let me go!" Hinata yelled, his voice full of frustration. "How are you stronger than me? What’s wrong with you?!"
You ignored his protests, as well as the incredulous stares from the other boys, though you noticed no one dared to intervene. Tanaka, from a corner, couldn’t contain his laughter, clearly enjoying the scene.
"They’re so weird," Tsukishima commented, in his usual tone, frowning as he watched the situation. He seemed more puzzled than upset, but you already had something in mind. "Don’t worry, Tsukki, soon it’ll be your turn," you thought, inwardly smiling at the possibility of a future revenge.
After memorizing Hinata’s shirt and pants sizes, you stood up with an ease that contrasted with the situation. You dusted off your knees and stood up as if nothing had happened, as calm as always.
"What was that?" Hinata looked at you, still annoyed on the floor, unable to understand what had just happened.
"What do you mean?" You played innocent, trying to sound clueless as you walked toward your bag.
One down, three to go, you thought, evaluating your next move. The easiest to handle was Hinata, of course, since you shared a close relationship. However, now you had to decide who to go after next. Yamaguchi? No... You thought quickly, recalling that he was always near Tsukishima, which would make him a more complicated target. Tsukishima and Yamaguchi would be saved for last. That left Kageyama as the next target. How hard could it be? The black-haired boy got nervous with the slightest interaction, so that could work in your favor.
However, a small doubt crept into your mind: What if he gets upset? Dealing with an upset Kageyama didn’t seem like the best option.
Calm down, Y/N, calm down... you told yourself, taking a deep breath as you walked alongside the others on your way home. The cool evening air helped clear your thoughts.
Hinata was still huffing behind you, clearly offended by your earlier behavior, but you chose to ignore it for now. He, used to your teasing and playful nature, would eventually get over it. You knew it was all part of the game, but sometimes it was fun to see how others reacted.
You slipped through the hallways, now filled with students chatting and strolling with friends during break. You discreetly peeked into each classroom, looking for the black-haired, serious-faced boy. It wasn’t easy to find him until, finally, you spotted him standing in front of one of the vending machines in the hallway.
"Kageyama-kun," you called in the sweetest, most sugary tone you could muster. He turned, visibly surprised to see you approaching.
“Oh, Y/N… hi. Do you need something?” he asked, his gaze shifting behind you, probably expecting to see Hinata or another teammate. Not seeing anyone else, he looked back at you, clearly confused by the sudden interaction.
"I just wanted to see what you were doing," you said, shrugging casually, trying not to show your true intentions. You crossed your arms behind you and added with a carefree smile, “So, what are you up to?”
Kageyama frowned slightly, still puzzled by your behavior, but he answered simply, “Buying a drink. Do you want one?” He offered, and you quickly nodded, unable to hide the opportunity this presented.
As Kageyama took a bill from his pocket and inserted it into the vending machine, you carefully moved closer, reaching a hand toward his back in hopes of finding a size tag. Just then, he turned to look at you.
"Which one do you want?" he asked, and you quickly stepped back.
“Ah, chocolate!” you replied enthusiastically, and Kageyama, suspecting nothing, turned his attention back to the machine. He knelt down to retrieve the drink from the dispenser.
Not wasting the chance, you leaned in again and whispered urgently, “Kageyama, don’t move.”
He froze immediately, a flicker of worry appearing in his eyes. “What’s going on?” he asked, trying to turn towards you.
“Wait… there was… a spider on your shirt,” you lied, keeping your tone low but convincingly serious. Without hesitation, he remained perfectly still, his shoulders tensed. You took the moment to move closer and check the tag on the back of his shirt collar. M, perfect. Now you had the size.
"Did you get it?" he asked, his voice revealing a hint of discomfort.
You mimed a quick flick, as if removing a tiny imaginary spider, and then straightened up, smiling to reassure him. “All set, nothing to worry about. It was tiny,” you said calmly, trying to keep a straight face.
Kageyama sighed, relaxing a bit, and murmured a “thanks” as he handed you the chocolate drink.
You smiled and took the bottle. “Thank you, Kageyama-kun,” you said with a playful glint in your eyes that he didn’t seem to notice. You’d completed another step in your secret mission, and everything was going according to plan.
The next target was Yamaguchi. You took advantage of a break in practice to sneak into the club room with Kiyoko while the other boys were in the gym practicing. As soon as you stepped in, the scent of sweat and the confined space made you wrinkle your nose; the room was a reflection of the chaotic nature of the team players.
“The boys are so messy,” Kiyoko murmured with a tone of mild exasperation, being careful not to step on the shirts and shoes scattered across the floor.
You scanned the metal shelves in search of Yamaguchi’s bag, and after a few moments, you found it. “Kiyoko, I’ve got it,” you told her, carefully opening the bag. To your surprise, the inside was meticulously organized, in contrast to the rest of the room. You pulled out one of his shirts and checked the tag, while Kiyoko quickly noted the size on her clipboard.
“This guy knows how to keep his things in order,” you murmured, impressed. You folded the shirt back with the same care and placed it exactly as it was to avoid leaving any evidence that someone had been there.
“Do you see Tsukishima’s around here?” you asked Kiyoko, glancing at the other bags on the shelves.
She checked the area again and shook her head. “No, it looks like he took it with him.”
His words made you sigh. You knew Tsukishima would be a particular challenge; catching him alone was complicated, as he seemed to move everywhere with Yamaguchi as his shadow. You thought about possible moments when he might be alone, situations where you wouldn’t have to intrude and create more of a scene than necessary.
An idea crossed your mind briefly: you could surprise him in the club room when he was changing. You immediately shook your head, discarding that option; you didn’t want to cross the line and come across as an intruder or, worse yet, a pervert. There were limits to your mission, after all.
Maybe you could approach him in one of those moments when he seemed lost in his thoughts, immersed in one of his books or on his phone. Of course, doing it unexpectedly had its risks: with his sarcastic personality and defiant gaze, any misstep would be an invitation to teasing that would haunt you for weeks. But you had already come this far, and you were determined to complete the task without compromising your dignity more than necessary.
The sun was already beginning to set as you walked alongside the boys after an exhausting practice. Next to you, Hinata and Nishinoya kept up an animated conversation, in which you only “participated” with nods and small smiles, barely able to keep up with their excited voices.
"Let's stop here, I'm hungry," Tanaka complained for the umpteenth time since they'd left the gym. The group stopped in front of the small convenience store where the same man always worked, a clerk with a permanently grouchy expression. "Come on, Nishinoya, buy something for your friend!" Tanaka said, dragging his teammate by the bag and pulling him into the store. One by one, everyone else followed, drawn by the promise of a snack to recharge.
"Aren't you coming, Tsukki?" Yamaguchi asked, looking at his friend, who had sat down on the curb, apparently uninterested in the store.
"No, you go and bring me something," Tsukishima replied, adjusting his glasses and turning his gaze toward the horizon without a second thought.
Hinata also turned to you. "You're not coming in either, Y/N?" he asked, motioning to the store behind him.
"No, I'll stay here and watch your bike," you answered with a smile. The redhead nodded and joined the others, leaving you alone with Tsukishima on the sidewalk, both of you in a comfortable silence, yet filled with subtle undertones.
With a quick glance at Tsukishima, you realized this might be your best chance. However, as you carefully tried to approach him, your steps took you right over a crack in the pavement, causing you to trip and, without being able to stop yourself, fall onto the boy’s back. Your arms instinctively wrapped around his shoulders to keep your balance.
"What are you doing?" Tsukishima asked, a mix of irritation and surprise in his voice as he removed his headphones and turned his head slightly to look at you. Being so close, you caught a faint scent of his cologne, something you hadn't noticed before.
"I... I fell," you stammered, aware of how unusual the situation was. Although it was technically true, you couldn’t deny that you'd taken advantage of the moment. His hair brushed against your cheek, causing a slight tickling sensation and a nervousness you hadn’t expected.
"You fell?" Tsukishima repeated, clearly skeptical, as he slowly stood up. To your surprise, when he was fully standing, your feet still didn’t touch the ground, and you realized just how tall he really was. With no other choice, you tightened your grip on his shoulders, trying not to fall.
"Do you plan on getting off at some point?" Tsukishima muttered, throwing you an awkward glance out of the corner of his eye. However, when he felt you slipping a bit, he shifted slightly to help you steady yourself. Despite the little voice inside warning you of how ridiculous you were about to look, you held on even tighter, wrapping your legs around his waist. You knew you probably looked like a sloth clinging to a tree, but the thought of falling was worse.
"Just give me a moment," you said, trying to sound confident as your fingers unintentionally brushed the back of his neck, causing a slight shiver on his skin—something you didn't fail to notice.
Tsukishima took a deep breath, visibly irritated, but he didn't move to push you away. Instead, he held his stance, staring straight ahead with a mix of resignation and annoyance. "This is... unnecessary, you know?" he muttered in a low tone, not looking directly at you.
"Relax, I don't bite," you joked, attempting to ease the tension a little. Tsukishima scoffed, but without much enthusiasm, and slid his hands under your knees to hold you more securely. Before you could say anything else, he suddenly leaned forward, making you grip his shoulders even tighter in surprise.
A soft laugh escaped him, low and barely audible, just enough for you to realize he was enjoying this, even if just a bit. Tsukishima rarely showed open amusement, so that subtle reaction was a small victory.
However, the blond didn’t stop. He continued rocking back and forth, now with a faint smile on his lips, clearly entertained by your complaints and the way you struggled to keep your balance.
"What are you guys doing?" a voice spoke up behind you, filled with curiosity and suspicion.
Both of you turned quickly, and he let go of you so abruptly that you fell onto the ground with a soft "ouch" as you sat up, wishing the ground would swallow you up at that moment. You were met with the inquisitive gazes of Hinata, Yamaguchi, and Tanaka, who looked at you both with expressions ranging from confusion to amusement.
"Nothing," you and Tsukishima replied in unison, both looking away to avoid the curious stares of the others.
Hinata blinked, incredulous, while Nishinoya barely managed to stifle a poorly-disguised laugh. "Nothing?" he repeated, raising an eyebrow. "Well... it sure looked like something."
Visibly uncomfortable, Tsukishima rolled his eyes and crossed his arms. "It's not important," he muttered with the cold, sarcastic tone he used to avoid awkward questions, which only made his friends look at him more suspiciously.
As you got up and dusted yourself off, you noticed Yamaguchi had a small, knowing smile, as if he understood more than anyone was willing to admit. Still, no one pressed further, and the group resumed their walk.
As you walked, you felt a slight nudge in your side—it was Hinata, who leaned in with a mischievous expression and whispered just loud enough for only you to hear. "I didn't know you liked Tsukishima..."
You turned to him, looking as if he'd just said the most absurd and inappropriate thing in the world. To you, it was exactly that. Your eyes widened in a mix of shock and disgust, and Hinata took a step back, a bit startled by the intensity of your reaction.
"I don't know where you got that idea, but you're way off," you replied in a low voice, shaking your head emphatically. You pointed first at Tsukishima, who was walking a bit ahead, and then at yourself with an expression of utter disbelief. "No, Hinata... no. Never."
Hinata, a bit confused but still amused, scratched the back of his neck. "Alright, alright... it just seemed like, you know..." His voice trailed off, and he avoided your gaze, somewhat regretful for implying something so unexpected.
Seeing that Hinata seemed embarrassed by his comment, you sighed, trying to smooth things over. "It’s just that... Tsukishima and I were simply messing around, okay?" you explained, trying to sound calmer. "I can't even imagine it."
Hinata nodded, this time with a shy smile. "Got it," he replied, shrugging. "Although, well... sometimes opposites attract, right?"
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at the comment, but let the conversation fade there, relieved that Hinata stopped speculating.

-Last Time-
“AAAA” Asahi yells, frightened.
“GAAAH!!” Tanka yells worriedly.
“HINATA!!!” You scream, quickly running over to him.
You get to Hinata first, with the others arriving right after.
“Hinata! Are you okay?” You ask worriedly.
“...! OWWWW…” He replies.
“Aha! He lives!” Noya says.
“You okay, bro?” Tanaka asks.
“OHMYGOD. OHMYGOD. OHMYGOD. Are you okay I’m sorry I’m sorry!!!” Asahi panics.
“It’s his own stupid fault for zoning out like an idiot.” Tsukishima says nonchalantly.
“Tsukishima! Quit!” You scold, earning a “tch” and an eye roll.
“A-Ambulance! C-Call an Ambulance!!” Takeda freaks out.
“Calm down, sensei.” Ukai says.
Hinata begins to sit up, so you help him by telling him to move slowly.
“Oh, uh, it’s okay. I’m fine. Sorry to make you all worry.” Hinata says, rubbing his head.
“You sure? Maybe you should sit out a rally or two…” Daichi says.
“No! I’m fine! I promise!” Hinata says quickly. “I just…didn’t dodge all the way in time. Besides, I’m used to getting hit in the face!” ‘You shouldn’t be though…’ You think sweat dropping. “I’m very sorry!”
“Don’t be.” Suga smiles. Before you can say anything you feel a very familiar dark aura. You and Hinata look at the source, Kageyama. He’s pretty pissed off.
“What’d you think you were doing? Zoning out in the middle of a rally…” Kageyama asks.
“Um! Uh! I, ah!” Hinata tries to respond but he’s too scared.
‘The fact that Kageyama isn’t yelling is not a good thing…’ You think and know that Hinata is thinking the same thing.
“I know what you were thinking.”
“?!”
“You were thinking about how cool the Ace is but that all you’re good at is being a decoy, which is stupid and boring. You were wishing you were as tall and strong as Asahi so you could be an Ace too.”
“Enough Kageyama…” You say but are ignored.
“I…I was not!” Hinata defends but only earns a glare from Kageyama. “O-Okay…so, uh…maybe a little.”
“Once you realized our team had an Ace…aside from all the idolization or whatever…you got jealous.” Kageyama begins. “Quit letting your brain wander off onto stupid crap during a game.”
“...So I got a little jealous. So what?”
“Hinata…” You say softly.
“YOU’RE BIG AND TALL AND SKILLED ALREADY! YOU COULD NEVER UNDERSTAND WHAT IT’S LIKE FOR ME!!”
“Guys. Stop!”
Suddenly the gym doors open. An older man is standing in the doorway.
“Hey! What are you all still doing here? It’s time to close up!” He says. “Hurry and clean up.”
“Excuse me!” Takeda begins. “Could we please at least finish this game first?”
“But it’s awfully late…”
“I’ll take responsibility and supervise everyone!”
“Well…”
“Once we’ve finished, I will do all the final checks and make sure everything is properly locked up.”
You look at Hinata and see he’s sad and embarrassed. You go over to him.
“...Hey…Hinata…” You softly say. He looks at you. “Are you okay?” HE puts on a fake smile.
“Yup! All good!”
“You don’t have to fake it with me.” He looks slightly shocked and drops his “smile.”
“It’s my fault for delaying the game…”
“You can’t blame yourself. You got hit in the head with a volleyball. At least you wanted to continue playing. Others would’ve taken Daichi’s offer of sitting out.”
“But then I had to go and yell at Kageyama for it.”
“What Kageyama did and said was completely uncalled for. You were upset and defending yourself. It was admirable.” This causes Hinata to blush.
“Thanks, (Y/N).”
“You’re welcome. Now…Are you hurting anywhere? Do you have a headache? Dizzy? Nauseous?”
“N-No. I’m okay. I promise.”
“Good.” You lightly punch his shoulder. “Don’t make me worry like that!”
“! I-I’m sorry! I-I didn’t -” Hinata can’t finish his statement because you suddenly hugged him.
“But I’m glad you’re okay.” You say hugging him tighter. This causes Hinata to turn bright red. You stop hugging him just as Takeda closes the gym door.
“Sorry, Sensei. Thanks for that.” Daichi says and Takeda turns around and gives him a thumbs up. “Okay, everyone! Let’s get back to playing!”
The game is about to resume but Kageyama gets Asahi and Takinoue’s attention.
“This rally.. I’m going to set the ball for him.” He says pointing to Hinata. “Please try as hard as you can to block him.” Hinata, Takinoue, and Asahi look at him confusedly. ‘What are you playing at Kageyama?’ You wonder.
“Hey, Hey! You trying to taunt us now?” Takinoue asks, annoyed.
“Yes, sir!” It’s a blatant taunt! I’m sorry for being disrespectful!!” Kageyama replies bowing. This shocks both you and Takinoue.
“Ha! Well aren’t you a gutsy kid! I like that! Okay, Then! We’ll take you up on that!” Takinoue replies.
“Thank you, sir!” Kageyama says before staring at Asahi intently and then walking away.
“What the heck is that rookie thinking? A quick set is effective precisely because you can’t predict it. Telling the other guys it’s coming means he’s gonna run smack into a triple block. And if that happens short stuff doesn’t stand a chance.” Ukai comments.
“...True…” Takeda begins. “If he runs headlong into a block…that may be the case, yes.” He finishes as Ukai looks at him questioningly.
‘Augh! Stupid Kageyama. What’s he doing telling the other team what we’re going to do next? There’s no way I can punch the ball through blockers that tough. He knows that!’ Hinata thinks nervously before looking at Kageyama, whose back is turned, frustrated.
“Hinata. The way you are right now…you suck. You’re a scrub who’s fast and kinda knows how to jump. That’s it.” Kageyama says darkly.
“...?”
“The Ace is a player who can put the entire team on his back and carry it.” Kageyama continues. “That’s someone you’ll never be.”
“!!” Hinata looks like he’s going to cry.
“Hey, um. Don’t you think…” Asahi begins,
“Yo, man!” Tanaka says.
“BUT!” Kageyama continues again, interrupting Asahi and Tanaka. “As long as you’re with me, you’re the greatest!!” Hinata looks at the setter in shock. “Yeah, Asahi-san’s spikes are super powerful! And yeah, he can go straight through even a triple block!”
“Huh?! Um! N-Not all the time…No, but…” Asahi stutters at KAgeyama’s words.
“Stop acting so modest!” Noya scolds the Ace.
“So what about you? All the times I’ve put the ball up for you… have you ever run into a block? Ever?” Kageyama asks, earning another look of shock from the middle blocker.
The whistle is blown and Shimada serves the ball. Ennoshita receives it as Hinata looks at the other team's blockers and begins getting intimidated.
“Dodge!!” Kageyama yells, pulling Hinata from his thoughts. “It’s not like there’s anything else you can do…you scrub!!”
Hinata runs to the left side of the court with the opponent's blockers following him. He bends his legs and swings his arms back getting ready to jump. ‘That’s right. If we can’t go through…’ Hinata thinks.
“We go around.” He says before jumping back and running to the right side of the court. This surprises Asahi, Takinoue, and Ukai.
‘I hate getting blocked! I hate getting stopped!!’ Hinata thinks as he jumps into the air. ‘If even one blocker gets up in front of me…there’s no way I can beat it the way I am now. I can’t play like the Ace plays. But…! “As long as you’re with me…you’re the greatest!”’ Hinata spikes the ball, surprising everyone, and earns his team a point.
“Yeah, you’re no Ace! But with your speed…your jumps…and my setting…we can take on any blockers out there!” Kageyama declares. “The point the Ace scores by busting through a block…and the point you score by going around them…It’s still a point! Even if you don’t have the fancy “Ace” label you rack up points in games! They pay attention to you, and follow you…and that frees up our other hitters! Including the Ace!! Right?!” Kageyama finishes and whirls his head toward Tanaka.
“Dwah?! Y-Yeah!” The second year begins. “He’s got a good point, Bro! There’s a huge difference in how well our offense works…depending on whether or not you’ve got your decoy game up and running.”
“Despite all that…do you still hate the part you play on this team?! Do you still think it’s boring and uncool?!” Hinata doesn’t answer. He stands still thinking until he looks at his stinging hand.
“...I don’t…”
“What?”
“I don’t think that!”
“Good!!”
Nishinoya is gaping at the two as Suga chuckles. Hinata looks at Asahi.
“That was a really amazing spike you did.” Asahi compliments the first year.
“!! Thank you!!” Hinata says with a blush.
“Hey, Kageyama…” You say catching his attention. He turns to look at you. “That was sweet. What you did for Hinata.” His eyes widen and a blush creeps to his cheeks. He doesn’t know how to respond. “But…maybe next time…be a bit nicer.” You say tilting your head to the side with a closed-eyed smile that’s a mix of sweet and threatening. Kageyama‘s blush increases so he looks away.
“W-Whatever…” He says.
“Awesome! Now I think you know what to do.” You say as the setter goes to Daichi.
“I’m very sorry for interrupting the game again!!” He apologizes as he bows.
“Um! N-No, it’s okay.” Daichi replies.
“We’re all finished now, so…” Kageyama begins as he stands next to Hinata.
“We’re ready to play!!” The two exclaim together.

Happy Haikyuu Day!
Sorry for the bad quality first off T^T I keep having to resize these so that they’re smaller for Tumblr and it ruins the quality. But more importantly, happy Haikyuu day! (at least it is Japan already!) This edit embodies some of my favorite moments within the series and below, I’ve written some of the thoughts that went into this piece/my feelings on these moments! Manga spoilers ahead (I'm pretty sure I’ve kept them to a minimum but just to be sure, please proceed with caution!), and I hope you enjoy this edit! (Overlays: accio-glow, aulia-chan on dA; PSDs: hurtears, hallyumi, yangyanggg on dA) 1. “Today might finally be the day we get the chance to let our talents bloom… it could be tomorrow. Or maybe next year. Or maybe it’ll finally come when we’re 30. I’m not sure if physique has anything to do with it but I do know for sure that if you don’t believe that day will come, it never will.” This quote is a testament to Oikawa’s growth and is a symbolic representation of Oikawa freeing himself from the shackles of “geniuses” and “prodigies.” So what if your opponent is a genius? So what if they possess more innate talent? As his mentor and inspiration Jose Blanco states, “Are you saying you know what the limits of your abilities are already? Even though you aren’t yet finished growing physically or mentally? Even though you haven’t mastered all the skills you can master? If you’re going to complain that someone with more talent than you will always be better than you… no matter how hard you work, how many tricks you learn and how many great teammates you have… do that only after you’ve given everything the very best effort you have.” There will always be someone better in the world. But to claim that you cannot hope to compare to the likes of them is to resign yourself to a predetermined defeat as well as dismiss both your own efforts and theirs.    There’s no guarantee when your efforts will pay off. As Oikawa declares, it may be today, tomorrow, or even when we’re 30.  But if you don’t believe in yourself first, if you don’t believe that you will bloom in your own time, “that day will never come.”  The flower in the background is the iris. It is known to represent trust, faith, and hope amongst many other ideals. I chose this particular flower because of the manga cap used in this panel. I cannot emphasize how much I love the bond between Oikawa and Iwaizumi, especially this particular moment when Oikawa points at Iwaizumi with such authority and determination as if saying, “This ball, this moment, is meant for you.” Not to mention the pairing with the iconic “Talent is something you make bloom, instinct is something you hone” quote. An absolutely masterful sequence of scenes that always gets my blood rushing.
2. “Don’t look down! Volleyball is a sport where you’re always looking up!” This moment gives me chills every time. It’s something so fundamental and simple and yet, when Ukai yells this,  it instills that feeling of “You can do it.” It makes my heart flutter and I feel so excited because it’s such a beautiful way of saying “Don’t give up, it’s not over yet.” And even if the ball has dropped for the last time or you have lost this match, there’s always tomorrow. There’s always the next match where you’ll have to look up. This quote gives me the same feeling as when Takeda-sensei says, “For the rest of your lives, you can do anything you set your mind to!” You only truly lose when you stop trying or you give up.  3. “It hurts. I’m tired. This is painful. I don’t want this to ever end.” / “The ball hasn’t dropped yet!” Whenever Haikyuu characters say “Just one more!” or “The ball hasn’t dropped yet!”, the tension and desperation is almost palpable. It’s so incredibly moving to see them strive to save that ball just one more time, to focus purely on what is in front of them. Even if they don’t all pursue volleyball as a professional career, the passion they all have for the sport is real. That sort of passion is beautiful to watch and admire, and I wish I could have that kind of passion for something in my life.  4. “The underhand only uses two hands. The overhand uses 10 fingers. That’s all the more to support your spikers with, which is what it means to be a setter.” / “To cut through the wall that looms before your spikers, that is the purpose of a setter.”  This particular panel depicts the two ideologies of Atsumu and Kageyama respectively, two of my favorite setters and characters in general. Atsumu “may be pretty cocky at times, and overwhelm his teammates with his thirst for victory, but he treats his spikers with more sincerity and selflessness than anyone else.” He may be overbearing and an asshole at times, but his love for the sport and the art of being a setter is second to none. On the other hand, there’s Kageyama who’s so damn cool with his one-liners. Kageyama’s passion and drive to win may blind him to his surroundings and teammates but he truly believes that the setter is the one who clears the path for their spikers. When their spikers feel cornered and the walls are closing in, it is the setter who “cuts through the wall that looms” ahead. The old Kageyama who was a prisoner to speed is no longer, and his growth as a player brings me to tears every time.  5. “Someone once asked me, ‘Do you ever feel bitter over the fact that you’re not a regular on the team, and amongst your juniors there’s a genius to boot?’ I never understood the exact definition of what it was to be a genius to begin with, but upon hearing the question, I understood the general gist of what they were getting at.  Every so often there will be someone who thinks that ‘people like Atsumu’ were ‘good’ from the get-go. But the thing is, if I practiced something from 1-10 every day, then people like Atsumu would have done it from 1-20. Or, they would have done the same 10 but in a more efficient or concentrated manner. They might also ask ‘Instead of doing it 1-10, how about I tried it from A-Z, what would happen then? Now doesn’t that sound interesting?’  They’re the kind of people who think about stuff like that. Even if they fail, even if they are hated and get ostracised by others, no matter whether they’re right or they’re wrong, even if they subvert something the rest of us hold in high regard, they’re the kind of people who can’t sit still without giving it a go. Even if they start coughing up blood from their lungs, they’re the kind of people who want to keep on running, no matter what.  There’s going to be a lot of people in this world who make you go ‘Wow, I’ll never be able to defeat them,’ and it’s only natural that you think they’re amazing people. I think that to be able to keep charging ahead is a talent in and of itself. You can call people like them whatever you like, the term ‘genius’ isn’t exactly an insult. That said, to think they were ‘good from the get go’ is to condemn yourself to a predetermined defeat without even playing a match against them, and I also think it’s very rude.”  This quote, hands down, is one of my favorite quotes of all time. It is not genius or natural talent that makes individuals truly great, but it is grit. Without a doubt, people are not born equal. There will always be someone with more innate talent or latent capabilities. We all begin at different starting lines. But those who truly stand out are those who go the extra mile, like those dubbed to be the Monster Generation (Kageyama, Atsumu, Hinata, Bokuto, Ushijima, Oikawa, etc.). To others they may seem like natural prodigies but behind their flawless technique and precise ball control lies countless hours of training. They trained harder than anyone else, sacrificed in order to hone their abilities, and ran farther than the rest of the pack. They’re the type to fixate on what lies before them without much regard to anything else. They eat, sleep, breathe, and live volleyball with every waking second. They’re always trying new things (Atsumu pulling off the freak duo quick in the middle of the Inarizaki match) and continually looking for ways to improve (“But the thing is, if I practiced something from 1-10 every day, then people like Atsumu would have done it from 1-20. Or, they would have done the same 10 but in a more efficient or concentrated manner. They might also ask ‘Instead of doing it 1-10, how about I tried it from A-Z, what would happen then? Now doesn’t that sound interesting?’ They’re the kind of people who think about stuff like that”; Kageyama keeping a volleyball journal). It is not what they were born with that makes them great; it is their overwhelming desire to win.  6. “‘Yesterday’ has already disappeared behind us. Many, many yesterdays have become a part of our muscles. What shall we do, today?” This quote, chills. There’s no point ruminating about the past or what has already passed; you can’t change it. (In retrospect, I wish I included another quote from Inarizaki in this panel: “One time is enough. We rise to the challenges of today.”) You learn from the mistakes of yesterday and use them as stepping stones for tomorrow. I wish I could eloquently phrase how much I love this quote or my interpretation of it but alas, my writing is fancy Garbage.  7. “But if… just if… that moment comes for you, that will be the moment you really get hooked on volleyball.” If you didn’t get chills when Tsukishima blocks Ushijima, I have no words for you. Tsukishima-it’s-just-a-club Kei, Tsukishima-I’m-the-normal-guy Kei — Tsukishima Kei, who always underestimates his own capabilities and relies on what he can see in front of him, blocking the Ushijima Wakatoshi, one of the top three high school aces nationally. The character development from someone who did the bare minimum (as noted by other players/coaches at one of the training camps) to someone who finally had their moment to get hooked on volleyball is one of my favorite progressions of all time. Seeing him fall in love with volleyball gradually and then all at once is truly heartwarming and beautiful to witness.  8. “No matter what other people may say, we are the protagonists of the world.” This quote is incredibly empowering to me. Even if your days consist of mundane activities, you are the protagonist of your own story every day. You may not be the main character in a shounen manga or an adolescent seeking to usurp the government in a dystopian novel, but this is your story. No one can tell it like you do and no one can replicate your story. It is yours and yours only.  And that concludes my Haikyuu word vomit! I really do wish I could have properly conveyed my pure adoration and love for this series better. I truly do love Haikyuu so very, very much. It will always have a special place in my heart and I will never forget the memories and lessons it has taught me! Thank you, Furudate-sensei, for such a beautiful story. And thank you Haikyuu, for everything. For all the losses and victories we shared. For all the smiles and laughter, and for all the tears we shed. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

WARNING: Angsty but with a fluff ending!
WHO: Tsukishima Kei x Karasuno Manager! Female Reader
-
“Morning Tsukki!” you smile at your salty dinosaur who had just entered the classroom. You followed him to his desk where he sat down and placed his bag, taking a book out.
“Morning.” Tsukishima said while giving you a small grin and paying attention to his book.
“Whatcha up to?”
“Reading.”
“Oh- uhm, do you want me to stay here or like?” You said as you were about to get up and leave though Tsukishima’s hand held onto your wrist.
“No no, it’s okay. You can stay here.” He looked at you with his norm straight face and you nodded sitting back down.
“I heard it’s a special day today...” you hinted. Today was your birthday and you were really hoping your salty dino got the message.
“Oh really?”
“Yup!” your eyes beamed with sparkles as Tsukki didn’t pay attention. “Hey are you ignoring me?”
“What? No! I was listening still. Keep talking.”
“Oh uhm, well today is a special day! A very very special day.”
“Is that so?” his eyes stayed on the book as he turned the page.
“Yes it quite is.”
“Well if you’re going to say something that mentions about practice then I think you’re mistaken.”
“No, silly! It doesn’t have to deal with practice. Something more exciting!”
“What is there to be excited about?” ouch.
“Well I don’t know, it seems that I am forgetting something...” you mumbled but screamed in your head to shout out the answer to your question. As much as you love this dinosaur, he sure is dumb to recognize the importance of your birthday.
“Well all I know is that today’s a normal and regular day, and there isn’t something special that I remember happening today.” suddenly the words Tsukishima was saying faded into a fuzzy noise. No longer were you able to connect back or hear anything around you, all you heard was the sound of your heartbeat slowly beating and your hurried breathes.
“Y/N? Hello? Are you okay?” Tsukishima snapped you back into reality.
“Huh? Oh yeah... I’m fine. Class is about to start, I’m going to head back to my seat and I’ll see you later yeah?”
“Okay, see yah.”
-
Class ended awhile ago and it was break. You had just left the washroom to see Kageyama and Hinata together bickering.
“What are you two boys bickering about, today?” as you walked up to them.
“Kageyama is calling me an idiot.” Hinata shot a glare at him.
“Again?” you chuckled.
“If you hadn’t ruined my favourite sweater Y/N got for me on my birthday by puking on it I wouldn’t be holding such a grudge.”
“HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO SAY SORRY!” Hinata jumped up and down.
“It’s alright, Kageyama. I’ll get you another one on your birthday!” you said with a small smile and Kageyama’s eyes lit up.
“Wait actually??? Th-Thank you.” he gave you a small bow and you laughed.
“WHAT? NO FAIR-“ Hinata started saying but you interrupted him.
“I’ll make your birthday even more special, Hinata.” That’s all it took to have stars shine in Hinata’s eyes.
“NOT FAIR-“ you probably shouldn’t have mentioned or said that as they continued to bicker.
“Hey- BOYS!” you stopped them and they apologized. “Get to class, you’ll be late.”
“Yes, Y/N.” as they trudged back to class. Hinata had turned around.
“Oh by the way, Y/N.” maybe he would remember or say something about your birthday.
“Yes, Hinata?” you waited for the words to come out.
“Are you ready for-“
“Yes! I am so ready and excited!”
“See Kageyama, I told you Y/N would be excited to see our quick.” wait-what? I thought he would say something or remembered.
“Tsk, whatever.”
“See yah Y/N!” Hinata waved. You tried not to look upset and waved back with a small smile.
“Bye, Hinata. Bye Kageyama. I’ll see you two at practice.”
You knew these two boys would be forgetful. What type of hope did you clutch onto? If Tsukishima didn’t even remember your birthday, how would the others?
-
“Oh hi, Y/N!” Sugawara had said.
“Hey! Where are the others?” you said as you saw Daichi, Asahi, and Tanaka.
“They’re just coming.”
“Ahh I see.”
“So are you doing anything after practice?” yes, I’m going to celebrate my birthday by myself.
“Uh, just studying for an upcoming test. How about you Suga-san?”
“Good luck with that! And uhm.. I don’t think I have anything in mind today. Maybe just take a shower and sleep when I get home.” Suga laughed and you chuckled a bit before putting a small smile hiding away the pain.
Even Suga forgot your birthday... This is honestly one of the most heartbreaking thing because he’s never the type to forget things. Especially when it comes to birthdays...
-
“Takeda-sensei, I think I’ll head out first. I still have homework to work on.” You said.
“Okay, thank you Y/N for coming.” He said before turning around. You went towards the door to open it quickly as tears were streaming down your cheeks already and you didn’t want to be seen with such emotion displayed on your face. You accidently hadn’t seen where you were going as you bumped into someone.
“Oh Y/N, are you okay?” Kiyoko asked. You wiped the falling tears from your eyes quickly and inhaled a breath of air before facing her.
“Huh? Ah, Kiyoko-san, yes. I am alright. I’m just going to leave early because I have homework to finish.”
“Are you sure you’re alright?”
“Yep! See yah!” As you quickly turned away from her and walked your way home continuing to have tears stream down your face. The slow mind process of doubt, and overthinking started playing in your head as to how this could have led you to such event.
-
“Alright everyone, good job today! Make sure to rest up well, eat a well balanced dinner and get enough sleep.” Coach Ukai had spoken before continuing to speak, “Where’s Y/N?”
“She said she had homework left to do.” Takeda-sensei spoke out.
“Shoot, I wanted to gift her this.” Coach Ukai was holding a bag of your favourite snacks from his store.
“What for?” The team questioned.
“For her birthday... Why else?” Coach Ukai looked at the team in confusion looking at the faces of shock and guilt before widening his eyes.
“Did you idiots forget it was her birthday?!?!?!?” Coach Ukai slightly raised his voice making everyone panic.
“Wait- what? It’s today?” Tsukki checked his phone and spat out his water.
“Holy shit, I’m a bad boyfriend.”
“Tsukishima! How could you forget!?!?!” Yamaguchi yelled at his best friend before slapping him on the back of his head.
“So that’s why she was crying...” Kiyoko spoke out and everyone froze.
“S-She was crying?” Tsukishima’s eyes enlarged before grabbing his bags and heading towards the door.
“Where are you going?” Daichi asked stopping at the door.
“To go apologize to my girlfriend and to spend the rest of the day with her, why else?” As Tsukishima stared down at his captain.
“We should all go and make it up to her. We as a team forgot so we shall go do what’s right.” Sugawara had spoken as Tanaka and Nishinoya had aggressively nodded their heads.
“Let’s go to Coach Ukai’s shop to purchase more snacks and drinks.” Hinata said while looking at Kageyama. “I’ll beat you there first.”
“Not unless I do it first!” As the two started sprinting towards the doors and to the shop.
“You sir,” Tanaka and Nishinoya said while looking aggressively into Tsukishima’s eyes, “Need to be a better boyfriend or we’ll take your girl.
“As if you can.” Tsukishima smirked heading outside before dashing to your place.
-
You were laying in bed after finishing your studies and staring at the ceiling thinking about how today turned out.
“Am I not important? Do they even know when my birthday is? I mean I had mentioned it before. Does Tsukki even know it’s today? Am I not special enough?” all these clouded thoughts were blocking out the noise around you but suddenly your phone vibrated next to you snapping you out of your thoughts. The caller ID showed a picture of you and Tsukishima on your second date at the park mindlessly being slight idiots at night.
“Hello-?”
“Open your door.” Tsukishima’s voice said.
“Huh, why?” As you got up and walked towards the front door.
“You’ll see.” The call ended and you stared at your phone questioning what Tsukishima meant.
You opened the door revealing your boyfriend.
“What are you doing here at this time?” You said looking up at your boyfriend and tilted your head in confusion.
“Hold on, you can come in guys.” Tsukishima mentioned and you cocked your eyebrow at him.
“Happy birthday, Y/N!” Hinata came in giving you a plastic bag. In came the rest of the team and you were suddenly now holding plastic bags and poorly wrapped gifts in your hands as each of them said happy birthday to you.
“What is this..?” you chuckled nervously looking at them all for an answer.
“We felt really bad for forgetting to say a happy birthday to you. Mainly that tall blonde over there.” Tanaka said and Tsukishima sent a glare to the older boy.
“Aww thank you guys... I will admit I was a little upset, but that doesn’t matter anymore because you guys are here now! What are we waiting for? Let’s get this party started!” you exclaimed and their moods brightened.
“I’ll go set up the board games.” Daichi said with Sugawara following behind. The rest of the boys went to set up the snacks meanwhile you went to your room and placed the gifts there before heading to the kitchen to get some cold drinks.
“Y/N...” Tsukishima said out of nowhere scaring you.
“Tsukki, you nearly gave me a heart attack.” you said as you placed a hand over your heart chuckling.
“I’m sorry.” your chuckling stopped.
“It’s okay, babes. You didn’t know.” you said placing the drinks onto the kitchen counter.
“No, it’s not okay! Today is significant and an important day. I am so stupid for forgetting that it was your birthday.” Tsukishima looked down. This wasn’t like your boyfriend. The Tsukishima you knew wasn’t all apologetic and or so soft?
“Tsukki, it really is okay...” you went over to him and stood right in front of him before wrapping your arms around your salty dino.
“But it’s not.” he said mumbling. You sighed before bringing your hands to Tsukishima’s cheeks pulling him down a bit and bringing your lips together for a light kiss and going back into a hug position.
“Baby, it’s okay. I already forgave you for coming and you guys making it up to me by purchasing all this stuff and bringing all this stuff too. I promise.”
“Really? Cause I feel like a shitty boyfriend right now.”
“You will if you keep being all pouty and soft. That reminds me, since when were you so caring and soft?” you push your head away from Tsukishima’s chest giving him a puzzled look before he placed his hand on the back of your head and pushed you back to his chest.
“Shut up.” he grumbled while blushing and you giggled.
“WOAH- TSUKISHIMA’S BEING ALL CUTE IN THE KITCHEN WITH Y/N!” Sugawara said telling the group and from there started chaos.

AN: ask and ye shall receive (^_<)〜☆ this is kinda angst hhahahahha
Tumblr media
— haikyuu | jealousy.
Tumblr media
includes: sawamura, ushijima, akaashi, bokuto
taking requests here
Tumblr media
✦ sawamura ✦
clear-headed captain turned WORMS FOR BRAINS
it’s so bad because even asahi and sugawara are like?? wtf happened
his jealousy is ire, scathing and scarring anything in its wake
you come up to school one day with your newly transferred cousin cause your mum asked you to show him around and daichi sees you two walk VERY CLOSELY to each other from the gates and he’s fuming
he knows he can’t walk you to school everyday because of early morning practice especially since it’s near nationals surely you would’ve understood, right? you didn’t have to go and get another guy to walk you, right?
he’s so angry he doesn’t realise he crumpled up the forms takeda sensei asked him to hand out to everyone for their trip to tokyo
you walk up to him and you’re like “daichi, hi!! let me introduce--” and he just CUTS YOU OFF
“oh so THAT’s how it is? and who are YOU? why are you walking MY GIRLFRIEND to school? huh? care to answer, pal?”
its so embarrassing literally everyone is looking at him
he’s pointing his crumpled up forms at your cousin, trying to tower over him but daichi’s too short so he’s tip-toeing
you’re so embarrassed you whisk your cousin away and just shoot your boyfriend a glare
he begs for forgiveness at lunch after you text him “that was my cousin i told u about idiot”
“you’re so dumb sometimes,” you mutter as he hugs you. daichi nods against your shoulder and kisses your temple, “i know... i’m sorry”
✦ ushijima ✦
not a lot of people thought ushiwaka had it in him to express some petty thing like jealousy
BUT, just like in the qualifying match against karasuno, he’s suddenly alight with newfound anger and hurt
ushijima’s blunt and monotonous--two permanent fixtures which you have grown to love
but NOW? now it’s horrible because he’s fucking pissed having caught you simping over a player from the opposing university team his coach invited for a practice match
he storms up to you the second the referee blows the final whistle and blocks your line of sight to the court and you’re like ?? waka what’s going on and he’s glowering
you sort of inch away from how intimidated you are
“if you find me unsatisfactory, i would prefer you talk to me directly instead of filling up your needs with the enemy.”
“the enemy?? what are you talking about waka what’s going on?”
and he steps aside and he’s like “i’ve seen the way you look at number seven, you cannot lie to me. now what is it that makes you so drawn to him? let me know and i’ll better myself so you won’t have to look at anyone else.”
and you’re just stumped cause he said this while you’re sitting with your friends (who are squealing in amusement at this interaction, you swear you’ll get your revenge but now...)
you pounce onto your boyfriend, clinging at him like a koala and profusely apologise, saying he’s perfect and that he’s everything--you were just distracted because that guy was so beefy it took you by surprise
and he goes--in the most DEADPAN tone known to man-- “very well, i’ll increase my strength training starting tomorrow.”
✦ akaashi ✦
he’s an over thinker and he quickly blames himself for things that are out of his control which makes him prone to self-sabotage by thinking about his insecurities
it’s no different when it comes to jealousy
perhaps, he’s the most jealous character on this post
it takes little, small things, building up the voices in his head as they chip away at his confidence
he’ll see you get a confession and even though he KNOWS you’ve rejected it, the smile you give that boy is blinding
next he’ll find a new email on your lockscreen--some guys from the other class asking you out to watch a movie with them
and, finally, he’ll catch you and bokuto in a hug as his teammate twirls you around and he loses it
you saw him and you’re like “keiji!! come here--” but he’s dashing out the gym, trying his best to not let the tears fall
it’s outside in the chilly october night did you take his head between your hands and forced him to look at you, reciting reassurances and pressing soft kisses to his wet cheeks
it takes a while, but he finally understands and you feel the warmth of relief blanketing you both
✦ bokuto ✦
like akaashi, he’s victim to his insecurities and acts out in a way that’s almost comedic and annoying because he knows any other alternatives (sobbing, hiding away for days, not eating) are frowned upon, more concerning
he doesn’t want to burden you anymore
so he shouts and screams, whines until his teammates are begging you to talk to him. to fix this thing between you but you’re so clueless you decide to ask your boyfriend what was wrong anyway
and he’s teasing, grinning at you but the light doesn’t quite reach his eyes and that’s when you know somethings wrong
“kou, seriously. please, tell me. what happened? did i do something wrong?” and it takes him a while but when you do coax it out of him you wish you hadn’t
“a few girls in my class were passing around this paper and they said they were voting on who was the hottest guy in our year... and i saw your name but you hadn’t voted for me so i just thought that...”
he sounded so broken and frail you wanted to kick yourself for ever even playing that game and for agreeing to your friend’s dare
you rush to explain it to him, tears welling up your eyes as you plead for understanding even though you know you don’t deserve it
“i don’t know... i’ll... i think i need some space,” he says after you explain. you couldn’t do anything but nod as he walks out of your classroom
he forgives you (in time)

What if?
Okay, so I have decided to make a series of one-shots with different animes but as Telenovelas. I think it is pretty clear where I got the idea from, but oh well. Haikyuu! …But as a Telenovela!
Warning: unplanned pregnancy, teen pregnancy. A lot of DRAMA and (a failed attempt) of HUMOR
-
Our story begins seven years ago, when (Y/n) Gloriana González Pérez was ten years old. (It should be noted that at that age, (Y/n)'s passions included: Family, Telenovelas, God, and grilled cheese sandwich. The order is not important)
And on that day, she was taught to protect her flower.
"Look at the white flower in your hand, (Y/n)" said María Elena, who was (Y/n)'s grandmother. (Maria Elena's passions consist of God and (Y/n). In that particular order) "Now crumble it"
And (Y/n) did as told. The once white flower turned brown and decay.
"Now, try fixing it" grandma continued. The young girl tried, but the flower was clearly ruined. "I-I can't" "Exactly" repeated the older woman. "That's what happens to your virginity once you lose it. It can never turn back. Don't forget it, ever."
And forget, (Y/n) never did. Because like the good responsible catholic Latina she was, (Y/n) promised herself she would save it for marriage.
Tumblr media
"Are we there yet!? Are we, are we!?" Hinata asked for the 37th time, and as the past 36 questions, the answer was no. However, everyone was getting a little annoyed and impatient. Right now the team was heading to a training camp, along with Nekoma's and Fukurodani's respective teams. And as always, Hinata couldn't hold his excitement. (Y/n), on the other hand, was a different story.
A few months ago, she had transferred from Miami to Japan. As expected, the adaptation was challenging, but thankfully her new friends (the team) were there for her. In no time, (Y/n) found a waitressing job in a hotel in Tokyo and settled down in school. When everyone asked her if she could accompany them to training as an unofficial manager, she really couldn't object.
"Hey (Y/n) are you feeling okay?" Asked Suga, who had been sitting beside her the whole bus ride. "That's your third water bottle. Do you feel nauseous?" He asked again. "Nah, don't worry about it. I'm fine" She claimed with a smile, even though she was lying through her teeth. Suga noticed too but decided not to ask further. Truth be told, (Y/n) was feeling quite sick. At first, she thought it was the feeling of being homesick and nervous; She quickly dismissed the idea when her head started killing her.
"Now we are here," called Coach Ukai from the front of the bus. If (Y/n)'s being honest, she really likes the coach. He's a good guy, (even with all the smoking he does). He even let her work as a cashier in his family store.
At his words, Hinata jumped. His praying had actually worked. He couldn't wait to get into a volleyball court and spike the ball as hard as he could. (Y/n) was secretly relieved as well. Her body was heavy and she needed to get off.
From the window, she could already see Kuroo and Akashi waving, while Bokuto jumped with excitement. (Y/n) also noticed Kenma was standing shyly behind his captain, but he was there, nonetheless.
When the bus came to a stop, the teenage girl calmly got up. A wave of nausea and light-headiness came over her, but she manages to control it. Once she was out of the bus and tasted fresh air, she would be back to her old self. Giving a hand with the luggage, (Y/n) finally gets out and before she understands what's going on, two strong arms are sneaking their way into her hips. Bokuto lifted her body and started to twirl her around. Unbeknown to Bokuto, this small action was the final blow for (Y/n)'s sickness. As soon as her feet touch the ground again, her vision turns black.
-
(Y/n)'s orbs roam lightly. She is unable to recognize the unfamiliar room. Voices are heard from a distance... or maybe closer. It almost sounds as... as coach? and Suga?
Opening her eyes a little more, she manages to make out shapes. 'What the hell happened?' (Y/n) can't remember. Her head still feels fuzzy but she manages to sit up. Her eyes adapting to the light of the room. "He-hey..." the girls say. Her voice was still raspy and dried. This caught the attention of those in the room.
Karasuno's mother setter is the first to approach her. "Hey, are you okay!? OMG, I knew something was off!"
(Y/n) could only let out a small chuckle. Sugawara really did know her. "I'm fine now. Don't' sweat it!"
The second person who came closer was Coach Ukai. "Hey kiddo, how are you feeling?"
(Y/n) just smiled, "Better. I'm sorry I crashed the camp."
"Oh don't worry about it! Everyone started practicing." Ukai's hand ran through his dyed hair and into the back of his neck. "Although Bokuto is in emo mode." (Y/n)'s face changed into one of guilt. She had completely forgotten the fact that she had passed out in his arms. She couldn't help feeling flustered at how cheesy the situation had been.
(Y/n)'s train of thought is suddenly interrupted by the medic entering the room. "Well," He clears his throat. "We ran some test. Nausea and fainting spell solved... You're pregnant."
Now, the news might have shocked both Ukai and Suga, but (Y/n) couldn't help but snort at his words.
The three men are now looking at the girl who is frantically laughing. Finally catching her breath, (Y/n)'s eyes look up to the doctor. "Sorry, is just that, I'm not pregnant."
The doctor was taken aback by her confidence and security but recovered. "We tested your urine."
"Trust me. The test is wrong."
"False negatives are frequent, false positives are rare..." The doctor tried to reason.
Suga looked concerned. "H-hey (Y/n), don't you think you might just be in denial... This is a pretty b-big deal."
(Y/n) could only let out small chuckles. "No, I'm not in denial. And it might be rare but it happened. Because I'm a virgin."
Ukai choked on his own saliva while the other two males looked at (Y/n) dumbfounded and in shock.
"Y-you're a-a vir-a virgin? You are a virgin. A VIRGIN." The doctor kept murmuring, clearly confused.
There was no trace of lying or deceiving in (Y/n)'s face. Just pure innocence and truthfulness.
Confused, the doctor went to grab another test and the fluid. He tried once again. "Pink means pregnant." And folks, let me tell you the sample was pink, very very pink.
"But I've never had sex." repeated (Y/n). Worry and disbelief lingering in her voice.
"The results say otherwise. Clearly you are not a virgin."
His comment sparked a flame of anger in the girl, but she decided to keep herself in check.
"This is clearly a mistake. A hormonal thing or something."
"Yes, hormonal pregnancy."
"No," She said as if venom was dripping through her mouth. "I'm not pregnant."
"I understand this is unplanned..." kept saying the doctor. While Coach kept mumbling something between the lines of miracle, and Suga just stayed there unable to process the information. Over the chaos, (Y/n) grabs the phone and dials.
"Hello this is (Y/n) Gonzalez. I need to talk to Dr. Jabami, some crazy doctor is saying I'm pregnant!?"
-
One hour and a half has passed since (Y/n) called her doctor. By now, some of the other players have become interested in the situation. Not that anyone knew what was happening except Ukai, the doctor, Dr. Jabami (who was on her way), (Y/n), Sugawara, and Takeda sensei.
After waiting a couple of minutes, the woman is known as Hanna Jabami finally entered the room.
(Y/n) quickly jumped out of bed. "Oh my God! Dr. Jabami there has been a terrible mistake. I don't know why the tests keep coming positive, but there must be an explanation!" Panic and anxiety were clear in the girl's voice. Ukai couldn't help but noticed the unknown female doctor was looking guilty and with a sense of pity in her eyes.
"The reason those tests came back positive... is because..." Hanna Jabami was having difficulty explaining the situation. "The reason is that... I accidentally inseminated you two weeks ago."
"What?" "You what?" Said in unison (Y/n) and Takeda
The doctor put her hands up defensively. "It was a mistake. I made a mistake. And there was only a 20 percent chance it would take, so I thought... I thought you might never know. Except that -- things turned out differently."
It should be noted that at this moment, (Y/n) is panicking. Time seems slow. The only thing she can do is breathe in and breath out. She felt her heart in her throat.
"I'm so sorry (Y/n)" interrupted the voice of Hanna. "There are options of course. You can have the baby or -- this is a prescription for -- a pill -- you can take. You are under no obligation to consult with the father. Though he knows and he would like to speak-- "The father" says (Y/n), having trouble breathing. She hadn't even been thinking about the father. (Y/n) is in shock. Numb almost. Abruptly, she stands up. "I got to go. I gotta leave."
"Where are you going?" exclaims Suga but (Y/n) doesn't respond. She just leaves.

Can’t Do This to Me, Baby
Another fic from my other blog! Daichi has the best thighs in Haikyuu and they deserve all the hickeys. Of course, with eagle eyes like Noya and Tanaka, however, avoiding teasing is impossible. Revenge is needed and Daichi is more than willing to hand it out. Seriously, big shoutout to @haikyuufairy for enabling me on this one!
Word Count: 4478
Warnings:  thigh fucking, rip the kitchen counter, hickeys galore, slight breeding kink, riding, Tanaka and Noya are menaces, Captain kink (don’t look at me like that), praise kink, fingering, vaginal sex, gagging with fingers, small mention of a possible threesome, itty bitty bit of D/s but not really??
Tumblr media
As captain, Daichi held a certain amount of prestige with his team. But thanks to years of volleyball, he had thick thighs that were oh so wonderful and I couldn’t help but pay special attention to them when I had the chance.
“Baby, baby, please, you can’t leave hickeys, my team will see.” Daichi insisted, fingers tight in my hair. I glanced up at him as I sucked another bruise on the inside of his thigh before I whined, “But baby, you look so good with all these marks. Plus, it’s not like they’re actually going to say anything to you, you’re their captain. They respect you enough not to tease you about having sex with your girlfriend.”
He laughed and fell back into the pillows as I continued to kiss upwards on his thighs, leaving small marks, and he groaned, “Clearly you haven’t spent enough time with the second years. Ennoshita won’t say anything but fuck baby! Oh god, you’ve gotta stop, you’re killing me.” I pulled away from the newest bite I left then gave a small lick to it before I crawled into his lap, murmuring, “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to hurt you.”
His fingers tightened in my hair then he pulled me into a kiss, sliding his tongue into my mouth as I moaned. Daichi pulled away then he murmured, “You didn’t hurt me, I just didn’t want to come just from you giving me fucking love bites, baby. Now c’mon, give me a condom and I’ll fuck you like you want me to.”
That familiar gleam, the one that always seemed to have a place in his eyes during an intense match, had begun to set in and I squirmed with anticipation. Not only were his thighs good for leaving marks, but fuck, they were a hell of an asset during sex.
I nodded with eagerness and fumbled through the top drawer while Daichi pressed his fingers against my slit, a growl rumbling through his chest as he felt how wet I was then he sighed, “You're already so wet for me, baby. God I can’t wait to fuck you, you’re so good to me. I love you.”
I whimpered when he pulled his fingers away then watched with awe as he began to fuck his hand covered in my slick, groaning, “Goddamn, Princess, what I would give to fuck you raw. Fill up that pretty pussy so full you wouldn’t be able to shift without come trickling out.”
“Daichi, oh god, please!” I cried out, rocking against his thigh. He grabbed the condom from my fingers then kissed my jaw, cheeks and finally my lips before he murmured, “We can’t do that though, baby, you know that. But soon, when we’re older. I’ll give you that and so much more. “
I moaned at the promise then he gripped my hips before pulling me close enough to press the head of his cock to my hole, murmuring, “That’s  a good girl, just sink on down for me.” I drew in a deep breath and did as he asked, sighing when I finally slid to the hilt. I pressed my forehead to his as I drew in a couple deep breath then Daichi asked, “What’s the matter, baby, you want me to fuck you? You don’t want to take a ride?”
It wasn’t until this moment that I was thankful it was a weekend. Daichi often pushed himself to the limits during the week and his body usually paid the price for the work he put in, which meant that he ached on most days. As much as I enjoyed riding my boyfriend, there was nothing quite like having him pin me to the bed and fuck me. I gave a small nod and a grin stretched across his face then he gripped the backs of my thighs to flip me onto my back. I laughed and kissed him.
Monday came like normal and I had planned to sit in on their practice since I didn’t have anything planned for after classes. I entered the gym and slid my shoes on, chirping, “Hello everyone!” The team turned and greeted me separately.
“Hey (Y/N)-chan!” Noya chirped as I gave a respectful bow to Coach Ukai and Takeda-sensei. I waved to my kouhai then turned in search of Daichi, who was currently practicing his receives with Suga and Ennoshita. I waited until they circled together for a quick drink of water then waved to them with a bright smile before claiming a place against the wall, prepared to work on the last bit of homework for the day.
The practice was mostly uneventful until they were almost finished with their first set of a practice match. Daichi had dug out a low ball and his shorts rode up on his thighs higher than usual, leaving the marks I had left a couple nights before in plain view. The first to notice the hickeys was unsurprisingly, Suga. He grinned in my direction then nudged Asahi, who flushed with color at the sight and quickly turned away from his captain, who gave an inquiring look to his best friend.
Then two of the first years noticed the bruises. Yamaguchi quickly turned away from Daichi and I watched as his freckles were overtaken with the red of his blush while Tsukishima merely rolled his eyes at the sight. That’s when the second years managed to catch a peek of the purples, reds, and blues decorating their captain’s thighs.
“Holy shit, Daichi, I think your girl has fancies your thighs a bit much there.” Tanaka crowed, earning the attention of his fellow classmates. Noya lit up at the opportunity to torment his senpai then he laughed, “Oh my god, I haven’t seen that many bruises even on an overripe banana!”
It was at this exact moment when I realized what Daichi had meant by I hadn’t spent enough time with the second years. I could practically see the gears turning in Noya and Tanaka’s heads as they constructed joke after joke about their captain’s sex life before my boyfriend snapped, “Shut up and get back to work!” Thankfully, the two listened to him and the game resumed, with the three seniors, Ennoshita, Kazuhito, and Kinoshita taking both sets.
Daichi walked towards Ukai and Takeda then murmured something to the two, earning nods for whatever he asked, before he walked towards me, rumbling, “Grab your stuff, we’re leaving.” My eyes widened at the realization of what was about to happen then the second years, with the help of Suga yelling encouragement at Daichi, began to tease us as we walked out of the gym.
He offered his hand out to me then murmured, “I cleared it with Coach, I’m leaving early for the day. You and I need to have a bit of alone time.”
“Daichi, you’re not mad at me, are you?” I asked quietly, squeezing his hand. He glanced down at me then replied, “Yes, I am.. I told you no marks and yet you insisted on not listening to me and now I have the underclassmen poking fun at the fact that my girlfriend is insatiable and doesn’t know how to keep her teeth to herself. Come on, let’s go get something to eat.”
The calm before the storm. It was something that I had hated about Daichi. The man had a poker face like no one else I had even seen, besides Ennoshita. That kid was unbeatable when it came to hiding the nasty emotions he felt, except when he dealt with Tanaka and Noya, but those two were enough to make the strongest will bend.
I cuddled into his side and he sighed before pulling his jacket from around his waist, draping it over my shoulders. I smiled up at him then Daichi muttered, “Even when I’m mad at you, I still can’t let you freeze.” I let out a soft laugh and cuddled closer, satisfied that he wasn’t ignoring me, before we stopped at Sakanoshita Store for a couple of meat buns to eat while we finished walking to Daichi’s.
He pulled me into his apartment by the front of my shirt and kissed me,, his other hand claiming the back of my thigh as he rocked into me. I moaned quietly then he pulled away, murmuring, “I’m going to take a shower, you can do whatever you want for right now.” He turned away to start his shower and I snagged the front of his shirt, whining, “Daichi, there’s no point in taking a shower when you know that you’re going to fuck me.”
He glanced down at my fingers tangled in the hem then met my eyes as he cupped my jaw with his hand, asking, “Are you whining at me?” I paused at the coldness of his tone and felt the material of his shirt slip through my fingers then mumbled, “Yes, Captain. I’m sorry.” Daichi hummed at my apology and released my face as he stated, “You do have a point, baby. I’m going to put the rest of the meat buns away, alright?”
He began to move away and I decided to follow him, hands sliding around his waist to press my cheek against his back. He paused and I pressed myself against his back with a smile, murmuring, “I’m sorry, did you want me to stay put?” He drew in a deep breath and replied, “No baby, you know that you can go wherever you want. But you have to at least walk with me.” I curled against his back and followed his footsteps into the kitchen as he put the buns into the fridge then he turned in my arms, kissing me on the top of my head. Daichi tilted my head upwards and asked, “So, are you ready to reap the consequences of your actions?”
My tongue peeked out at the question then I chirped, “I’m sure I’m going to enjoy whatever you dish out as punishment.” He chuckled at my insistence then kissed at the underside of my jaw as he murmured, “You’re so eager and you don’t even know what I’m going to do to you for the hickeys you left, even after I asked you to stop. I might not even let you come today, baby.” My eyes widened at the threat and he turned me around to bend me over the counter, stating, “You look so pretty underneath me, baby. I’m glad you didn’t change out of your uniform yet, that way I can just flip up your skirt and look at that, fuck. Cute little panties, were you hoping that my team would see and it would rile me up, baby?”
I whined at the question and pressed my hips against his, muttering, “Daichi, c’mon.” He cupped my cheeks then turned my face to kiss me on the corner of my mouth before he insisted, “You can wait for me, baby. Don’t you want to be good for me?” A small smirk stretched across my face and I chirped, “What’s the fun in being good when you can be bad, Captain?”
Daichi groaned in my ear and pressed against me, growling, “You’re really going to push your luck right now? Fine, baby.” His fingers tightened around the waistband of my underwear then yanked downwards and he kissed at the backs of my thighs, purring, “Goddamn, I may have thick thighs but yours could save my life, baby.”
I laughed at the statement and glanced behind me when he came to a stand then teased, “You still have nicer thighs than I do.” Daichi growled at my insistence and rumbled, “I’m pretty sure you have nicer thighs.” I pressed backwards then replied, “I’m sure we can have this argument at a later time, you’re supposed to be punishing me for the beautiful hickeys I left.”
He hummed at the reminder and pressed a large hand to the middle of my back as he rucked my skirt up higher to expose my ass. A thick thigh slid behind my legs then I gasped. He was playing dirty tonight and oh god it was going to feel so fucking good. Daichi slid his free hand underneath the front of my skirt then cooed, “You’re already so wet for me, baby. I guess you really did want the team to see your handy work, huh?”
“Daichi, please don’t tease me.” I moaned, my forehead against the counter. His fingers circled my clit and he pressed his thigh tighter against me before he replied, “Baby, this is nothing and you know it. Now stand there and take it like a good girl.” He pulled his fingers away from the bud and I cried out at the loss then he pressed them against my lips before he ordered, “Open and suck for me.”
I did as he asked, whimpering against the slick fingers, then he groaned, “Fuck baby, you’re so eager to listen to me. Maybe I won’t be so mean and I’ll actually take it easy on you.” He backed away then I began to protest still with his fingers against my tongue, only for him to press them deeper in my mouth, warning, “I’d suggest you not be too much a brat for your captain, if you know what’s good for you.” I choked against the digits then he pulled them out, strings of spit dangling from my lips, before he turned my face and kissed me.
He rocked against me and we shared a moan then he backed away to pull his shorts down. I glanced behind me to try to gain a look, only for Daichi to push me harder against the counter, earning a cry. He laughed at the sound then he stated, “You’re so loud for me, baby. It’s adorable.” I groaned at the compliment then two fingers slid inside, forcing it into a loud sob. He growled at the sound and encouraged, “Keep it down, there’s people we live next to still, little girl.”
He honestly didn’t believe that keeping me quiet would be that easy, did he? I pushed backwards and moaned, his fingers sliding deeper, then cooed, “C’mon, Captain, you can do better than that, can’t you?” He knew I was baiting him, it was a game that we often played but I still felt the same thrill when he pulled his fingers out and I gasped at the sudden emptiness. Daichi leaned forward and kissed my cheek then ordered, “Legs together. I’m going to fuck your thighs, baby.”
“Fuck, oh my god.” I moaned, head falling forward at the demand then did as he asked. He moved his hand off my lower back then the head of his dick pressed between my inner thighs. He sighed in my ear after pushing his cock further between my legs and he snarled, “Shit baby, this is almost as tight as your pussy is. I should fuck your thighs more. God, I can feel you dripping for me.”
“Fuck please, Daichi, please fuck me!” I pleaded, wiggling my ass at him as he continued to fuck my thighs. Slick dribbled down my skin and he sighed, the head of his cock bumping my clit. I whimpered and dug my fingers into his hip with a sob, “God, Captain, please! I promise I’ll be your good girl, please, I need your cock, need you to fuck me senseless!”
“You’re missing something in that statement, baby. What are you supposed to say right now?” I growled at his ridiculous question then the answer slid in. Right. Of course. The reason why we’re here for a reason, the wonderful hickeys that remained on Daichi’s thighs that I don’t regret. He wanted an apology for something that we both enjoyed. What a difficult situation.
“If you’re looking for an apology, Captain, you’re not going to find it. I’ve got nothing to say sorry for.” I informed him. He growled at my stubbornness then snapped, “You're such a brat. I can’t believe you at times.” I laughed and tightened my thighs, drawing a groan out of him as I replied, “You’re so easy to rile up. No wonder Tanaka and Noya bug you so much. You always have the most amusing reactions.” His hand slid further up my back and tangled in my hair, pulling the strands to yank my head upwards. I screamed at the pain that raced down my spine and Daichi fucked my thighs faster, clearly deciding that I didn’t deserve mercy.
“You’re such a noisy little brat. Maybe I’ll bring Suga back with us so he can choke you on his cock while I fuck your tight little pussy. That way you can’t make any noise.” Daichi snarled, snapping his hips faster. I cried out at the suggestion and pressed my hands against the counter to help push back against my boyfriend, taunting over my shoulder, “If that’s supposed to make me behave, I hate to break it to you, but that’s not the way to do it. If anything, that only makes me want to be worse.”
“Of course you would like that. Your captain and vice captain fucking you like the whore you are.” he murmured in my ear, wrapping an arm around my waist to help prevent the onslaught of bruises that was sure to blossom by the next morning. Daichi kissed down my neck and bit my shoulder, pulling a cry from my throat as I leaned into him, stuttering out, “Daichi, please! I want you to fuck me!”
A laugh bubbles out of him, without the familiar warmth that I was so used to before he kissed my cheek, stating, “That’s cute that you still think that you’re in charge here. Come on baby, do you want me to take you into the bedroom and fuck you right?”
He was giving me an out from the punishment and as hot as that certain position against the counter was, it was uncomfortable with the pinch of marble pressing against my skin. I pushed against his chest and he pulled away with his fingers tangling with my own before he tugged me to the bedroom. Daichi nudged open the door with his foot and ushered me inside, murmuring, “Go on, get undressed for me.”
I nodded in understanding then pulled my sweater over my head and wiggled out of my skirt, thankful to be naked. Large hands tightened around my hips and Daichi leaned into me, kissing at my neck, murmuring, “You’re so fucking beautiful, baby. I’m so lucky to love you.”
I smiled up at him and said, “And I’m so lucky to love you. I’m sorry for leaving hickeys. It’s just, I couldn’t resist and you didn’t make me stop. I’m sorry if I pissed you off.”
He laughed quietly and kissed me, tongue pressing into my mouth, then he slid away, reminding me, “Baby, you wouldn’t do anything that I don’t like and you know how I feel when you bite me. Sure, it’s a bit embarrassing having my kouhai see the marks you left, but fuck, baby. It’s hot when you get in that mood.”
“You act as if that mood is rare. If it were up to me and I knew you wouldn’t get picked on, I would be leaving hickeys all over your thighs every chance I got.” I informed him, pushing him on the bed. He smiled at me and replied, “Trust me, I’d let you do it too. Anything for you, baby.” I crawled into Daichi’s lap and pulled his shirt over his head then admired the way he looked underneath me. Dark eyes watched as I rocked against his thigh, a soft moan spilling from my lips then I whimpered, “Please… please, I need it, Captain, need you to fuck me.”
He pushed me onto my back and he wrapped a hand around the base of his dick then he purred, “You’re so pretty when you beg for me. It’s okay, baby, I’m gonna fuck you.”  Daichi reached into the top drawer and grabbed a condom to roll on. I watched with intrigue as he did then tilted my hips upwards to allow him to sink  just the tip inside.
I panted and he made me wait for the rest of his cock then Daichi praised, “You're so pretty, baby, so patient with me. I love you.” My nails clawed against his back as he sunk deeper inside me then I cried out, “Fucking hell, Captain! God, please, please, just fuck me, Daichi, I promise I’ll be good! I’ll do anything, please, I just need you to fuck me!”
His grin stretched wider and he kissed my cheek then he fucked up into me, fingers tightening around my hips. My head slammed back into the pillow and I sobbed at the pleasure rushing through my senses then Daichi cooed, “You’re so good, baby, so fucking good. God, I love you.” I clutched at his back and kissed at the crook of his neck as I murmured, “Love you too, so much. Please make me come!”
He laughed at my insistence and cupped my face then he kissed my cheeks and forehead, thighs tightening. I lifted my ass higher to change the angle, sighing with delight. Daichi groaned then pressed me back into the mattress, warning, “My pace, baby, not yours.” I whined at his order and tangled my legs around his waist, the headboard rocking against the wall. Had I not been half gone with pleasure, I would have cringed at the sound and the scuff marks that would likely remain as a reminder of what happened tonight. But now, there wasn’t a single thought that ran through my head that wasn’t related to Daichi.
“Yeah, that’s good, baby. C’mon, hold onto me tighter. This is going to be a bit rough.” Daichi snarled, fingers knotting through my hair as he tugged on the strands. I cried out when the pain mixed with the pleasure that overtook my mind and body and tilted my head backwards, offering up my throat as a treat. He grinned, a mean undertone settling across his features, and encouraged, “That’s it, baby, so easy for your captain.”
“Daichi, please- oh god!” I sobbed as his hips snapped faster and a growl burst from his chest. He sucked hickeys into the skin of my throat and teeth skimmed the bruises, ripping a keen from me as he bit harder. His fingers tightened around my hip then his thumb found my clit, pressing harshly against the sensitive spot before he rubbed tight circles. I cried out as my orgasm was dangled just inches from my face then he groaned, “That’s it, baby, come for your captain, you’re such a good girl for me. Fuck, baby, I’m gonna come.”
I whimpered at his instruction and my head tilted backwards as I screamed. I delighted in the pleasure that diluted my senses then Daichi growled in my ear when his own orgasm shuddered through his body. He backed away slowly, pressing a soft kiss to my lips, then pulled off the condom and tied the end before he murmured, “I’ll be right back, okay, baby? Just wait for me while I go get some things.”
I let a small noise of acknowledgement and he smiled softly before disappearing into the bathroom. He returned with a warm washcloth in hand then wiped gently at the inside of my thighs before cleaning the rest of my come away. Daichi brushed my hair out of my face and asked, “How’re you feeling, baby? Feel okay, need some water?” I nodded and he placed the cloth in the dirty laundry then entered the kitchen, clearly grabbing a couple bottles of water from the fridge.
When I opened my eyes again, Daichi had returned with water and an old shirt of his in hand, clearly prepared for my need to cover up. I glanced down and realized that he had already pulled on a pair of sweatpants before I accepted the items, pulling the shirt over my head. I sighed with relief when the cool water slid down my throat, easing the soreness that had settled in. He offered up a hair tie and I quickly accepted it, thankfully to get my hair out of my face before curling into Daichi’s side.
“So you’re really not mad about the hickeys, Dai?” I murmured, stroking his hip. He smiled down at me then answered, “Course not, baby. I already told you- I think it’s hot when you get all bitey and possessive.” I laughed quietly and he tugged our blankets over us, pressing his cheek against the top of my head as we settled in for the night.
Morning came early and I groaned at the gentle soreness in my body then Daichi kissed my shoulder, murmuring, “How are you, baby? Hurt?” I hummed at the question and stretched out with a soft moan before answering, “Little bit but it’s good, love. Feels so good.” He chuckled and slipped out of bed. He tugged me out with him then I fell against his back as we walked into the bathroom, prepared to get ready for the day.
We had entered the gym then Tanaka and Noya immediately greeted us, rushing out multiple questions back to back before I tugged my jacket off, revealing the multitude of bruises on my throat. The second years paused at the sight and exchanged a knowing grin before the teasing set in.
“Holy shit, girl, looks like our captain got his revenge for the hickeys on his thighs, huh?” Tanaka chirped, looping an arm around my neck as Noya jumped in front of us, laughing at my terrible attempt at hiding the multiple marks that Daichi left. I gave a small sigh and muttered, “I knew I should’ve skipped the rest of the week.” My boyfriend glared at the two then barked at his second years, “You two, three laps around the court for harassing our guest!”
Noya and Tanaka turned to try and make their cases against why they shouldn’t have to run laps for teasing me, only for his expression to harden, leaving no room for argument. The two took off and Daichi gave me a soft kiss on the cheek as he asked quietly, “How are you feeling?” I pressed a gentle hand to my neck then replied, “I regret that I didn’t invest in a scarf this winter.”
He laughed at my statement and chimed, “Alright baby, here’s my jacket, I’ve gotta go change. Love you!” And with that, he raced to catch up with Suga and Asahi, who clearly was prepared with taunts and statements of their own about the hickeys. This team was ridiculous, but I wouldn’t trade them for anything.

“Are you… sure about this?” Sugawara frowned deeply, scanning your face for any sign of hesitation, but there was none. Your mind had been made up.
Despite the emotions swirling around within him, Daichi’s face remained blank. He wasn’t happy about your decision. How could he be? You were his twin, his other half, and the two of you had been dreaming about going to nationals since you were both small children, but now you were resigning from the volleyball club and for what? A boy. You were choosing a boy over your own flesh and blood. That’s what bothered him the most.
Daichi took the resignation form from you, crumpling it within his fist as he turned on his heel, leaving the room without a word.
You felt guilty, of course, but you had to support the boy you had fallen in love with. You could only hope that he could find it within himself to one day forgive you. You offered Sugawara a sad smile. “I’m sorry, Suga. This is something I have to do.”
He nodded, feeling more sadness than anything else. “I understand. Take care of Asahi, okay?”
“I will, thank you.” And with that, you left the room, sequentially leaving the Karasuno volleyball team behind.

The final bell chimed throughout the school and you leaned back, stretching your arms above your head. “Today seemed to drag on forever.”
Asahi glanced up from his notes, offering you a soft smile. “You’re looking forward to the weekend, right?”
“Of course!” You turned in your chair to face him, but he had returned his attention to the notebook. To you, Asahi was an open book and you knew he wasn’t looking forward to the weekend because he was under the impression that you would be at practice, so he wouldn’t get to see you. You smiled softly, folding your arms on the back of the chair. “I’m hungry. Let’s go get some ramen, Hi-chan~”
His cheeks bloomed with color at the nickname, despite having heard it so many times before. “You can’t skip practice, Daichi will be upset.”
“I quit the team.”
His brown eyes widened in disbelief. “You… Why would you…”
Standing up, you approached your boyfriend, gently cupping his face with your hands. “That should be obvious, my love. I will always be by your side, supporting you through whatever path your life takes.”
His large hand slipped over your own, eyes turning glassy. “You quit… for me?”
“Mhm, and I’d do it again, a million times over.”
Asashi tried to keep his emotions in check as he stood up, throwing his arms around your body and burying his face in your neck, facial hair tickling your skin. He was positive that he had just fallen in love with you all over again, but he also felt guilty knowing that he most likely ruined the relationship between you and your brother. “Y/N, I don’t want to -”
“Shush, Hi-chan,” you ordered softly as your fingers played with the short hairs at the nape of his neck. “I quit because it’s what I wanted. You mean the world to me, much more than volleyball ever has. Dai will come around, I’m sure, he just needs time to process. Don’t you dare blame yourself for a decision that I made.”
He pulled back so his eyes could meet yours, shimmering with love and adoration. When he spoke, his voice was barely above a whisper, a ghostly touch upon your lips. “You mean so much to me, Y/N.”
You pulled him into a chaste kiss and offered him a smile. “You mean the world to me, too, darling. Now get your stuff, I want ramen!”
He chuckled, pulling away so he could do as you ordered.

To be honest, you didn’t really believe that the team’s attempts would be enough to convince Asahi to return to the team, though you had to applaud their efforts. You had seen the ace at his best, spiking past the best blockers. He was not only very talented, but he loved the game, as well. After being shut down again and again and again by Date Tech’s iron wall, that spark in his eyes was snuffed out. He took personal responsibility for the loss and what little bit of confidence he had died with it.
Deep down, you wanted the first-years to succeed, to persuade him to give it another try. You knew he missed the game, missed his team, but he was far too stubborn to admit that and he continually got upset when you attempted to talk to him about it. He felt like he was being ganged up on and started to pull back from you, using his college prep as an excuse.
You wanted so desperately to show him how strong, how incredible he truly was, how important he was to the team, but you couldn’t seem to convey these feelings. Especially when he ran away at the mere hint that the conversation was shifting to volleyball. You were honestly at a loss, so you did the only thing you could think of.
Kageyama and Hinata exchanged a look when you approached them outside of the classroom – they had been searching for your boyfriend, only to come up empty. They had seen you with Asahi several times but neither had spoken to you before. Were you going to scold them for messing with the brown-haired third-year?
“I have a request for the two of you,” you spoke softly, eyes shimmering with determination.
Hinata straightened his back, cheeks turning pink. “S-Sure! How can we help, senpai?”
You surprised both of them by bowing at the hip. “Please… please remind Asahi what it’s like to love volleyball!”
Their eyes widened at your pleading tone, not expecting such a thing to be your request. They could sense how desperate and sincere you were and they wanted to help in anyway that they could. It was true that they needed Asahi on the team, but they would also be honoring your request, which they were happy to do.
They copied your stance and chorused, “We’ll do our best, senpai!”
And that was all you could hope for.

You sat in class, watching as the clouds slowly rolled across the baby blue sky, the sun shining cheerfully upon the earth. If only your current mood reflected the weather.
“Y/N!” One of your classmates, Yuki, approached you with a smile, plopping into the desk in front of your own. “Shouldn’t you be heading to the gym? Volleyball practice started already.”
You smiled at her, thankful that she didn’t notice the sadness lurking just beneath the surface. “I have plans this afternoon, so I can’t go. Actually, I’m going to be late, excuse me.” You glanced at the clock for effect before quickly gathering your things and rushing from the room.
The truth was that you wanted more than anything to be there, cheering for your friends, your boyfriend, your family, but… it felt wrong for you to be there. Ever since you left the club, Daichi had been avoiding you, both at home and at school, but you couldn’t blame him. You knew he felt hurt and wasn’t quite ready to forgive you and that was okay. You didn’t want to push him or invade his space.
You suddenly came to a stop when you heard the familiar thwap of palms slapping against the ball, shoes squeaking across the polished wooden floor. While lost in thought, you hadn’t been paying attention to where you were going and had subconsciously traced the path to the gym, the path that you had taken so many times in the past. For a moment, you just stood there debating on whether you should just walk away, but you ended up approaching the door anyway. It was cracked open, just barely enough for you to see through.
‘Ugh, what am I doing? I must look like such a creep.’ As you pulled away, you caught site of Asahi jumping into the air, spiking the ball past a tall blonde. And then you saw it – that spark that had once fizzled out was now shining brighter than it ever had before. He was playing volleyball again and he was happy. They were all smiling as they received and spiked, yelling to each other. ‘Good job’ if they played their role properly or ‘it’s okay!’ if they made a mistake.
“Ah, Y/N-san!”
You whipped around in surprise as Takeda-sensei approached, carrying a black folder to his chest with one arm.
“Did you come to -” his grin suddenly dropped, replaced with a panicked expression. “W-What’s wrong? Why are you crying?”
“What? I’m not -” you lifted your hand to your cheek, feeling moisture on your fingertips. ‘I’m… crying?’
He took you gently by the shoulder. “Are you injured? Sick? I’ll take you to the nurse!”
“No, I’m okay, really!”
“But -”
The door slid open behind you, followed by Daichi questioning what was going on. He was so close to you and yet he felt miles away. Your shoulders shook as you clamped down on your bottom lip in a poor attempt to control your emotions. With a bow and a quick apology to Takeda, you quickly jogged away from them, hoping that they would just leave it at that, but you should have known better.
A warm hand grasped your upper arm softly just as you rounded the corner and you knew who it was simply by how softly his fingers rested upon your skin. He was slightly out of breath from practice and his eyes were filled with worry.
“Y/N, what’s wrong? Did something happen?”
You frantically shook your head, eyes focused on the single ant that was skittering across the pavement between the two of you.
Asahi rested his fingers under your chin, forcing your head up. “Please talk to me, darling.”
The pain in his tone went straight to your heart, more tears threatening to spill over your cheeks. “I’m sorry, I just… I saw you playing and you just looked so happy, I’m so proud of you and I just… I wish I knew how to fix things but I don’t and I -”
His lips silenced your rambling, warm and soft against your own. His forehead rested against yours, his thumb gently wiping away your tears as they fell. “What are you trying to fix?”
You sniffled, hand clutching at his jersey. “Things with Daichi… I thought he just needed time, but… I guess he hates me now.” A humorless laugh bubbled past your lips.
“You really think that?”
Your head snapped to the side, wide eyes locking with Daichi’s, your lip quivering. “What else am I meant to think? You haven’t said a word to me since I left, haven’t even looked at me! It’s like I don’t even exist anymore. I’m sorry, okay? I just… I wanted to support Asahi! I never thought you’d hate me because of it…”
“Idiot!” He snapped, stomping over to you as his aura darkened. Both you and Asahi tensed up, not knowing what the captain was about to do. Daichi’s arms suddenly wrapped around you, bringing you to his chest. His voice was full of emotion. “I could never hate you, idiot. I just… I felt like you were choosing Asahi over me and I got jealous. I was in the wrong, not you, so don’t apologize.”
You gripped onto your twin, having missed his company and the warmth that he provided. “I really missed you, Dai.”
“I missed you, too. I’m sorry for being such a jerk.”
“I’m sorry, too. I didn’t mean to make you feel like I was choosing someone over you. I love Asahi, but you’re my family, I could never replace you.”
“Y-You lo-love me?!” Asahi cried, face turning the same shade as a cherry. Though the two of you had been seeing each other for a while, the word love had never left your lips, a mere thought within your mind, but now it was out in the open, floating around you like a moth to a flame.
You had honestly forgotten that he was there and the realization of what you had just done made your own face burn. Your eyes snapped to your brother, begging for help, but that was definitely not in his job description.
“Sorry, I’ve got to get back back and make sure the kids aren’t burning down the gym. See you at home, Y/N!” Daichi grinned, turning and jogging away. You tried to catch the back of his jersey but you didn’t react quick enough, your hand suspended in mid-air.
With a nervous gulp, you slowly turned toward your boyfriend to gauge his reaction, only to find him clenching his shorts, head lowered as his shoulders shook. “A-Asahi, I -”
“Is it true?” he questioned, voice barely above a whisper as it floated to you on the warm afternoon breeze.
“Yes…” You took a deep breath to calm your nerves. “I’m in love with you, Asahi Azumane!”
His head shot up, tears sliding down his reddened cheeks. In just a single long stride, he was in front of you, pulling you into his arms. How many times had he dreamt of hearing those words from your lips? It was sweeter than he ever imagined it to be. “I love you, too, Y/N! So much!”
Your arms found his waist, hand sliding across his broad back. A smile came to your lips as he repeated the words over and over again into your ear, his lips soft against your jawline.

HAIKYUU X READER PURGE KARASUNO EDITION
"₦Ø₮ ɆVɆⱤɎØ₦Ɇ ₵₳₦ ₥₳₭Ɇ ł₮"
PROLOGUE:
It felt like any other day, for (Y/n) atleast. Walking the streets in such an ungodly hour should be a sin but the team had morning practice and this week she was assigned with key duty. With eyes lidded and a limp to her step dragging her body along the concrete pavements the girl could easily be mistaken as a corpse. This wasn't exactly uncharacteristic of her as she's normally this way after pulling all nighters on the day before morning practices. The last time this had happened Tsukishima had practically scrunched his nose in disgust towards his classmate and team manager seeing how much of a sleep deprived zombie she was.
A gust of wind sped past that made the girl shiver, cursing herself for not bringing a jacket she folded her amrs together.
"Oh, it's (Y/n)-chan!" Hinata said as he saw the girl sluggishly walking. He rode up to her in such inhuman speed flailing his arms a little bit to catch her attention.
"A simple hello would be nice, it's too early to make this much noise." The girl said burrying her face into his back as the boy offered her a ride on his bike.
"E-eh, sorry (Y/n)-chan I was jusy excited." The boy replied stiffening at her touch as well as making the tips of his ears go red, 'I've never been this close to a girl before' he thought only making his face burst with the same red hue. He silently thanked the gods she was practically half asleep and behind him.
"4:30 is way too early to be at school and practice is an hour later," Getting of the bike the female had whined stretching her arms crickets could be heard chirping in the background and the morning breeze had caused her to involuntarily shiver yet again.
"I didn't think I would get here this early normally I'd make it here by 5 on foot" the girl mumbled, puffing her cheeks as she said so.
Still somewhat sleepy she rubbed her eye and looked at the boy who was parked his bike at the bike rack by the school's entrance "Why are you up this early though?"
"Hmm," the boy put a finger on his lips, "No particular reason, I couldn't really sleep last night either maybe because I was excited for today's practice. Something big is happening today and I feel it in my bones."
While the girl had smiled at the boy's enthusiasm and her luck that they were able to cross paths today she let out a sleepy yawn.
"(Y/n)-chan sure is tired, were you not able to sleep last night too?"
The girl shook her head in response. Hinata then crouched down before her with his back facing her and offered her a ride on his back. After a bit of convincing the pair made their way on to the gym, with (Y/n) on Hinata's back.
★彡★彡★彡
It was currently 6:52 and practice is now ongoing, and had been for almost an hour or so.
Right after the pair had made their way to the gym Kageyama was unsurprisingly the next person to arrive, the boy being a little bitter Hinata arrived first. The other members soon filled in one after another some more lively than the rest.
Now the girl sat on the bench as the boys did their drills. Takeda-sensei couldn't make it to morning practice today as the school board was having a faculty meeting at this hour as well. So here she was inbetween Yachi and Kiyoko watching the boys practice.
Daichi had proposed a mini-game between the team and as soon as he said it the boys had already split into two seperate teams and started a rally as a way to conclude training.
Kageyama was extremely out of it during the game, his serves had less power in them and his tosses lacked accuracy (nothing the team would notice but still). 'Something doesn't feel right, was it the Mackerel this morning? no no no it couldn't be maybe it was because I wasn't able to wash my pair of favorite kneepads' he thought.
"Kegeyama!" Nishinoya had called signalling him that the ball was being passed to him so he had assumed a setting position, jumping he felt the ball fit perfectly in his fingers flicking his wrist he tossed it to the otherside of the court where Hinata was ready to swing.
'Crap, it's low' The boy thought as the ball had left his fingers watching at how the trajectory was down by atleast 18 degrees. Hinata was ready to spike, he felt the surge of adrenaline kick in as he stretched out his hand. He felt a jolt as the ball collide with his face instead of his palms. It all happened too fast for anyone to register, Hinata was soon found on the floor face first hurt, confused and ready to fight Kageyama.
"Hinata!" Daichi had shouted.
"A-are you okay?" Asahi asked as the whole team had circled around the boy who was still laying face flat on the floor.
"He's silent. . .
Ryuu do you think he's dead?!"
"I would be surprised if he wasn't" a certain megane snickered.
"Now now let's not jump to conclusions, Hinata are you alright?"
The boy groaned in reply refusing to sit up.
(Y/n) stood up from her spot and inspected the orange haired boy. The boy had an obvious red mark on his cheek and a growing spot by his forhead and nose, it was only a matter of time before it started bleeding.
Daichi sighed watching (Y/n) escort Hinaya towards the other managers he looked towarss his team, "looks like this is the end of our morning practice, In the mean time the rest of you can do cool down stretching individually and leave. Hinata would be taken to the nurse's office and Suga and I are going to the teacher's lounge to talk to Takeda-sensei about the new training schedule and updates on this mornings practice."
On the otherside of the gym (Y/n) stood by Yachi who was tending to Hinata who had his nose pinched with a tissue. Yamaguchi and Tsukishima stood a few ways from them snickering at the boy's predicament while Kageyama was silently sat next to Hinata.
"Ano, Hinata-kun I think it's best to go to the infirmary now, your nose is bleeding quite a lot." Yachi said scratching her cheek.
"A-ah you're right."
Noya bounces in with Tanaka and Ennoshita in tow, while Narita and Kinoshita finish up their stretching.
"I'm coming with you!" Noya declared, "I need to ice up and bandage my arms too, plus what kind of senpai would I be if I didn't accompany my kouhais to the infirmary." Noya said with an intense aura that nearly blinded Yachi that had left Tanaka laughing.
Kiyoko had volunteered to go to the Infirmary as well to request for a first aid kit as these accidents have been happening quite frequently these days. This had only caused Noya to sky rocket since he'd get to be within a foot radius with his beloved Kiyoko-san.
Daichi, Asahi and Suga stood by the entrance looking over at the team. Suga let out a playful exhausted sigh watching at how loud and energetic Noya is even after morning practice. The boy was laughing with his arms spread looking over a star strucked orange haired boy while Tanaka seemed to hype them up as well (Y/n) and Kageyama looked geniunly confused with Ennoshita face palming behind them. It was a sight to behold, truly it was.
"Sure is energetic, huh?" Daichi said.
"Well, I wouldn't put it pass him, he's always been lively." Asahi said meekly using a finger to scratch his cheek sweatdropping at the scene before him.
With his hands on his hips, lips twisting to the side, "Kinda envious actually, I feel like some old dude now especially when I'm with you slovenly bunch." Suga replied.
"Suga you aren't even old" Daichi said sighing at how dramatic the setter has been lately, ignoring his latter comment the trio exited the gym heading towards the teachers faculty. Hinata, Nishinoya, Yachi and Kiyoko left the gym as well to pay a visit to the infirmary not long after the trio.
7:23
The rest of the volleyball club still stayed by the gym, the door closed, shoes sqeaking and balls being hit could be heard from the gym. None of the boys even bothered to change out of their gym attire yet and class was about to start in an hour.
"Daichi and Suga aren't here right?" Narita asked picking a stray ball.
"Nope, they went to see Takeda-sensei, I'm sure they already left for class after." Ennoshita replied also taking a stray ball and placing it inside the cart.
"I don't think so, they left their bags here." Narita said using his chin to point at where their bags were, by the bleachers along with a few of their teammates belongings as well as a napping (Y/n).
7:30
The lights glowed dim and flickered this caused the group of males to stop their ministrations.
"Did the lights just go out for a second or was that just me?" Tanaka asked aloud.
"I bet it was nothing," Yamaguchi said dismissively, as he was about to practice another float serve the lights went out.
"Who turned out the lights"
"Shit"
"Is it a black out"
"Do you think something happened to the main building??"
Narita takes initiative to go towards the door to check, waning to see if they were the only ones affected from the cut off in electricity.
"Do any of you have flashlights"
"Use your phone"
"It honestly isnt really all that dark you guys are exaggerating"
Narita grabs onto the sliding handle and tugs at it, jerking it with a little more force but to no avail.
"Guys. . . we're locked in."
Kageyama's faced twisted as he ran over and started pulling at the sliding door hoping it would budge but after his actions proved to be uneffective he hit the door with a loud bang.
"Shit" he whispered.
The lights then started to flicker on and off, a loud alarm blaring from the intercom and announcement speakers outside. A wave of panic coursed through the students in the gym.

Daichi X Reader
Wordcount : 1871 words
Warning(s) : There’s spoilers (a bit) but it’s safe. I actually wanted to make it as an angst but gave up halfway. I decided to just post this to show how shitty and suck my writing became as I finally realized my assignments are still piling and i’m still procrastinating. Send help please! cause i’m still craving for Haikyuu and desperate for the second half this July!
Clenched fists and sore throats. The game against Shiratorizawa really got you at the edge of your seat, with a tense atmosphere and heavy pants from both sides of the court. You might faint if you stayed seated for any longer as the tension keeps on escalating, with the members trying to score a double point to end the game. Standing up, you went to stand beside Tanaka’s sister while firmly gripping the hem of your shirt. The pressure was evident, easily spotted with only a plain glance towards the prolonged-rally at the court. Everyone was cheering with them all, shouting and hoping for their win when Hinata made his back-attack jump, making the court goes silent.
Received by the opposite’s libero, but it bounced off. Out of the bounds.
There goes it.
Their double point.
The whistle is blown.
21-19, Karasuno against Shiratorizawa.
It’s sealed, finally. They’re going to the Nationals. Weak by the knees, you fall down as you watched your boyfriend hugged his buddies while the juniors just roared with all their might.
“Y/n-chan!!! You okay??? They’ve won the match, now stand up and show yourself! They’re greeting the audience…” Saeko-neesan called to you, pulling you by the arms to help you stand up. Still shocked, you tried to stand up with her help as you feel warm tears on your cheeks.
Nevertheless, you stood up proudly as you overlook each of the members standing at the court facing you. Finally, as your eyes set on Daichi, your eyes just sting all the more as he kept his eyes on you.
“Arigatou Gozaimasu!” They all shout as they bow. While everyone was clearly applauding and congratulated them from the stands, you just sobbed and wiped your eyes harshly after managed to wave at the exhausted captain. Soon after, the ceremony continued as you calmed yourself down. As soon as it was over, you joined Saeko-neesan with the others to meet the team.
“SAWAMURA, YOU PRICK!” From a distance you hollered his name while sprinting towards him, attacking him with a punch to his stomach and bone-breaking hug afterward. For a girl shorter than him to punch him, you sure are packed with strength as he grunted from the punch and reciprocated your affection.
“You do realize that we’ve just done playing 5 sets of the game, right?” He asked, putting his chin on top of your head as you hugged. The realization hits you.
“…Congratulations. And I love you, too~” You said, muffling your voice on his body before you released him and skipped towards the coach, followed by Shimizu. Forcefully, you poked his sides, making him yelp in front of Takeda-sensei. Annoyed, he turned to look at you as he put on his angered face.
“What was that for?!” He glowered, and much more annoyed when he saw you raising your eyebrows in a playful manner. Shimizu was about to ask when Koushi went to your side, interrupting the silent conversation.
“Coach, can (Y/n) join us on the bus later? It’ll be fun to have her around…especially for the captain who lost his tooth yesterday…” Koushi asked, poking fun at the captain when he’s not listening.
“Since she’s practically our third manager, and helps with the training…” Shimizu pointed out, also trying to help you to join them later.
It’s true though. You’re in the same class as Shimizu, and you've been helping her manage the team from behind since there’s a lot of things to do if Shimizu did it all alone. With the cute new manager, the workload has somehow decreased so you’ve been helping them a lot less than before. But with the new members and their abilities that are to be reckoned, the team had made an explosive comeback and of course, the workload increased again. Not that you wanted to complain. From those workloads, you got yourself a boyfriend. It’s a win-win situation. You get to help your friend manage the team, you get yourself a guy.
When your brother knew about it, all hell breaks loose. He’s a doting brother, alright. And he’s also the coach of the team. Damn your luck. Keishin glared at your boyfriend whenever you came to the court to visit Shimizu and Hitoka, which is all the time. And your luck was just getting started.
You were playing with the kids that same to your gramps’ house to learn volleyball when your brother dragged Hinata there. You were supposed to be playing just for fun when the old man decided to ask you to teach him. There goes your playtime because now it’s time to start throwing balls and lecturing Hinata about tempo.
The next day, your brother shocked you when he asked you to come to the gym when it’s practice time. He hates that you came there all the time, to meet your boyfriend that he didn’t know existed. Suddenly, now he wanted you to come? This is, what we call bad omen.
“Since your brats are familiar with her, starting today, she’ll be the assistant coach. So I expect full cooperation and professionalism.” Keishin highlighted the last words while looking at Sawamura. You were about to object when your brother cut you.
“At least this helps your skills to not be forgotten… Since you know how to play but decided to not play. And also, Gramps actually agreed with me, for the first time ever!”
And that’s how you started to help the team with receives and serves. All that mess, and now you’re sitting beside your boyfriend as he chowed on the food with the others. Your brother is busy talking with Sensei about the improvements and hardships to come while the energetic four sleep through the dinner, too tired to even lift the chopsticks. Slowly, you excused yourself and went out of the shop to enjoy the view outside.
Orange-painted sky with crows cawing from afar, you sat outside the store as you looked at the sky wondering about yourself.
“You should at least eat first…” a gentle voice rings your ears as you felt a solid arm wrapped itself around your shoulder. Sawamura was getting himself comfortable, scuttled a little beside you before sitting still with his arm around you.
“Well… I’m not really hungry. But for you, you should at least rest and eat inside” You mumbled when you saw two piece of fried shrimp he was holding with his arm that was around you. He waved the shrimps in front of you, a signal to tell you to eat it. You pulled one of it with your mouth and chewed it slowly when he releases his hold on the one you’re chewing on. He retracted his arm and took the shrimp to his mouth, then slings it back to your shoulder. Both of you just enjoy the shrimp while looking at the colorful horizon.
“So…what made my girlfriend furrowed her eyebrows for a while now?” Sawamura asked, breaking the silence after a while. He looked straight at you, while you glanced at him from the corner of your eyes, not really in the mood to look at him. You just continued to look at the sky, staying silent to think about your answer.
You don’t even know why are you like this. Looking at the sunset, you didn’t really feel bothered or whatever. So when your boyfriend mentioned your furrowed eyebrows, you started to think. You started to think about the unpredictable future. The chances of winning. Tiring practices. Exams. Universities. Lives after highschool. Your boyfriend. You’re not actually bothered by anything until he mentioned about your mood today. And you’re not trying to say it’s his fault that you’re actually started to feel anxious about the future when he asked you just now. Thinking about everything, now you actually furrowed your eyebrows on your own accord while gazing at the sunset.
Maybe, the sunset has this tremendous power to make people think about everything. Who knows?
Looking at your crinkled forehead, Sawamura pecked your cheek.
“There go those eyebrows again… Now, care to tell your boyfriend?” He asked again, much softer than before, whispering to you before laying his head on your shoulder.
“…It’s nothing, actually. I was just thinking about the future…” you spoke softly, to match his previous tone of asking. Breeze danced through your hair, making the stray ones goes wild on your head, fluttering like dead leaves.
“So you’ve been thinking about the future…why?” He inquired, confused about what had caused you to think that.
“Hmm… sunset? I’m not sure… I’m not actually thinking about anything before. But, when you said my eyebrows are crinkled and furrowed…then I started to think about the future…” I said, while fixing my hair, “what will happen after this? You’ll be busy with the Nationals… then there are exams… how will our future play out? What will happen to us? Everything is so uncertain it makes you wonder… out of every situation played on your mind, which one will be the reality??”
Silence. Sawamura was just steadily breathing beside you that you would’ve thought that he fell asleep as you blabbered about your sudden thoughts if not for his chuckle.
“Haha, you’re being extra sentimental today…” He answered, slowly moving his arm from your shoulder and it slithered back to your waist, followed by his other arm. “Yes, the future is uncertain. We’ll never know what will happen. But, make sure that you remember this… I’m always here for you.” He remarked as he tightens his hug on me, kissing my cheek on the process.
“Hey, I told you to rest. Not to hug my sister in the public!” Your brother growled as both of you heard the sound of the shoji screen being pulled.
“Sorry coach, but I need this…” Your boyfriend answered cheekily at Keishin as you just giggled.
.
.
.
Tomorrow
“Y/n… there’s a red spot on your skirt…” Shimizu whispered to you, before stealthily passing you the pad as she put it inside your blazer pocket. You were about to sit when Shimizu stopped you, forcing you to stand up again. You guys were at the cafeteria and Daichi definitely saw the thing slipped to your pocket.
“That explains your mood yesterday…” He said shyly. Embarrassed, you take off your blazer to tie it on your waist as you walked hastily towards the nearest toilet.
.
.
.
“Y/n, faster now… or we’ll be late to meet the others.” Daichi said as he pulled you forward, dragging your slow footsteps to meet Koushi and Azumane. Soon, you saw both of your old friends standing in front of you as Koushi and Azumane are currently shaking their hands according to their ‘non-existent secret handshake’.
“Ohh, it looks like our petshop owner came waltzing at us with the police officer clinging to her…” Koushi cooed at you as he pointed at both your hands, linking together, tight like glue.
“Shut it, you,” I said while slapping his hands. He pouted from the contact as Azumane just laughed at our antics since it’s been a while since all of us are gathered together like this.
“Now, let’s go find seats before there’s none left… I believe none of us wanted to miss this match” Daichi said in his typical-team-captain tone, tugging at me so that I can start walking. Soon after, four of us are struggling to get past the sea of humans to watch the battle of our beloved juniors.

Tumblr media
-Last Time-
“We’re ready to play!!” The two exclaim together.
“...” Ukai watches as Hinata and Kageyama regroup with their teammates. “Sensei.” He says getting Takeda’s attention. “Those two.”
“Hm? Do you mean Hinata and Kageyama?”
“Yeah. They from the same middle school? Wait, it has to be earlier. The same elementary school then?”
“Oh no. They met at the beginning of this very semester. At first they didn’t hit it off at all. In fact, I hear it was pretty rough…? Ukai-kun?”
“...Now that was cold.”
“Huh?...?”
-Small Timeskip- [Score: Municipal Team-20, Karasuno-18]
“Heh! Not bad, kids. Not bad!” Shimada says as one of his teammates tells him it’s his serve. Shimada uses a jump float serve. The ball is heading toward Hinata. He gets ready to receive the ball but at the last second, it swerves in a different direction. Hinata dives for the ball but ends up face-planting onto the floor.
“Bwah Ha Ha! Check that out!” Shimada laughs.
“Someone sure is being mature.” Takinoue comments sarcastically
“Hmmm? What was that?” Takeda asks. “It didn’t seem like a particularly powerful serve from here, but…”
“It’s called a Jump Float serve.” Ukai interrupts with the answer. “You can do one without the jump, just from a standing position. The point is to hit the ball so it has no spin. That way when it’s in the air it’ll wobble erratically, curving or dipping unpredictably.”
“Oh! So it’s like a knuckleball in baseball! Interesting!”
“You can do it in soccer too. They even still call it a knuckleball, though they don’t use their hands. By the way, depending on the ball used in the game, it’ll move differently. The one we’re using today is a type that won’t swerve much…”
“Wait! Wait! Let me write this down!” Takeda says scrambling for something to take notes with.
“Do it again, Shimada!” One of the players encourages as said man serves again. Tanaka tries to receive it but fails due to the ball wobbling. This continues.
“That’s four in a row.” Ukai comments.
‘Gee, thanks, coach.’ You think sarcastically.
“That rookie pair might have a mean quick set, but everybody’s receiving sucks.” Ukai continues. “Especially the rookies.” The whistle is blown indicating that it’s the Municipal Team’s match point.
“Time to wrap this up!” Shimada declares as he serves once again. The ball flies toward Daichi, who receives it and passes it to Kageyama. The setter compliments his captain with a ‘Nice pass.’ Hinata runs to the net and jumps.
“You won’t get past us this time, shorty!” Takinoue exclaims as Ashai, another teammate, and he jump to block Hinata. Kageyama sets the ball to Tanaka, who is in the air on the other side of the net.
“Oops!” Asahi says as he follows the ball with his eyes.
“Gah!!” Takinoue looks at Tanaka.
“Hi there!!” Tanaka says. “Didja miss me?!” He asks as he spikes the ball, completely unmarked. Noya receives the ball, sending it to Suga as he gets praised.
“Suga!” Asahi calls for the ball. Suga smiles and calls to Ashai as he sets the ball to him. Hinata rushes to Asahi and jumps to block him. Asahi spikes the ball with so much force that when it hits Hinata’s hand he flinches. You wince and watch as the ball hits the floor earning the Municipal Team a point. This point secures them the second set win, in turn, it secures them the game. As the Municipal Team celebrates, Tanaka goes to Hinata.
“AAAUGH!! Hinata, I’m sorry, bro! I was totally free and clear on that hit too!” He says, hitting his forehead.
“N-No, that’s okay.” Hinata replies.
“Still, that was pretty awesome. You had them completely hooked! I’m almost kinda jealous. Couldn’t at least one of them mark me? I felt left out!” Tanaka then lowers his voice. “I’ll be counting on you next time too, bruh!”
“!! Y-Yes, sir!”
You walk over to the two.
“Hey, guys!” You say as they look at you and smile.
“Hey, (Y/N)!” Hinata greets happily.
“You guys did amazing! Hinata, that last rally was great. The way you pulled their attention was fantastic!” This causes the boy to blush. “And Tanaka, that spike was amazing and powerful!” Tanaka freezes before falling to his knees and crying about how their Angel praised him. “Oh! Hinata. Are your hands okay?” You ask, grabbing his hands to look at them. Hinata’s blush increases massively. “Ashai’s spike was really strong and I noticed you wince so I wanted to make sure you’re okay.”
“Y-Yeah. I-I’m okay.” Hinata assures flustered. You inspect his hands for a second longer before letting them go. Hinata is slightly disappointed, even though he was extremely flustered, he likes the feeling of your hands touching his.
“What about me, Angel?” Tanaka whines holding his hands toward you. You look at his hands and tell him he looks okay. “She said I look okay!” He celebrates. ‘Okay…’ You think. You look over to the Municipal Team and begin speaking.
“Alright guys, I’m going to go congratulate the others. See ya!” You wave, walking to the other team.
“Bye!” Hinata says as Tanaka is still freaking out.
“Excuse me.” You say walking to the original members of the Municipal Team, since they separated from the high schoolers. They stop to look at you.
“Yes?” Shimada replies.
“I wanted to congratulate you guys on your win. You all played amazingly.”
“Thank you…” Takinoue begins.
“Ah! I’m sorry! My name is (L/N) (Y/N).” You say bowing embarrassed.
“Nice to meet you, (L/N)-chan. I’m Takinoue Yusuke.”
“Nice to meet you too Takinoue Senpai.” You look at the other men waiting for them to introduce themselves.
“I’m Uchizawa Hidenori.”
“Mori Yukinari.” He says pointing to himself.
“And I’m Shimada Makoto.”
“It’s nice to meet you Uchizawa Senpai, Mori Senpai, Shimada Senpai.” You say looking at each man. “Shimada Senpai, your jump float serves were amazing!”
“Thank you, (L/N)-chan.”
“Please, (Y/N) is fine.” You smile at the four. Ashai, Suga, and Noya are talking which catches your attention. The four notices. You turn back to them. “If you’ll excuse me.” You bow. “It was nice meeting you Senpais. Congratulations again!” You say walking to your teammates.
“Suga! Asahi! Noya!” You get their attention.
“Hey, (Y/N).” Suga greets happily.
“Hey, (Y/N).” Asahi greets.
“Hey, Angel!” Noya says.
“Congratulations you guys! You all did amazing!”
“Thank you!” They all say.
“Suga, your setting was spot on! And Ashai, great spikes! Especially the last one! And Noya, your receives were phenomenal. That last one was just…wow!” They all blush and thank you. “I’m really proud of you three.” This shocks them. “I know I haven’t known you guys for very long and I may not know the full story, and may never, but seeing you three play together was heartwarming. Sure, at first it was a bit rocky and awkward but after you called for the ball that first time…” You look at Ashai. “...everything seemed to fall right back in place.” All three of them look at you in shock. “You guys looked so happy playing together after that. I can’t wait to see all of you guys play together. It’s going to be…I don’t know the right words but I can’t wait!” They stare at you, lost for words. You look between the three, and suddenly feeling embarrassed, you speak. “Well, I’m going to go talk to the others. See ya!” You walk away with a slight blush.
‘Wow…’ They think simultaneously while blushing. ‘She’s too sweet…’
-A Few Minutes Later-
“Man! I don’t get half of what happened, but ain’t the glory days of high school great?” Shimada says to Mori. “Call for the ball, Ace,” and all that. Oh, to be that young again!”
“Yeah, yeah! “As long as you’ve got me, you’re the greatest.” I wish I coulda said that in high school.” You look over to see Kageyama and Noya blushing. This causes you to giggle, only making it worse.
“You bet! You kids sure made us old farts feel extra old tonight!” Takinoue exclaims happily.
“Um, w-we’re sorry.” Suga apologizes.
“Naaah, it’s okay. There’s still a rawness to you guys…but once you all start working together, I wouldn't be surprised if you go places.” A huge smile spreads across your face.
“Thank you so much!” Everyone says at once.
“No prob.” Takinoue replies as the four men leave the gym.
“Right. First and foremost…receiving.” Ukai says addressing everyone.

♡ requests rules ♡
hey! So now that I’ve been receiving more requests I think it’s time to put some rules to make things a bit easier ヽ(^◇^*)/  (I’ll do any request that is already sent even though it doesn’t adjust to the rules)
🌸 I’m currently writing for Haikyuu!! and Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan)
🌸 Please be the most specific you can when asking for a scenario 。◕ ‿ ◕。
🌸 The headcanons or scenarios will be about four characters max. (Just so I can focus and elaborate more on each one)
🌸 If you want headcanons or scenarios for more than four characters, please send it separately, I’ll do it if it comes in separate requests
🌸 There are certain characters I don’t write for :( just because I’m not very familiar with them or I find it kinda gross, for example Takeda sensei or Ukai from Haikyuu!! and Zeke from SnK (I’m sorry ik some of you like him :<)
🌸 I’ve said this before but I’ll repeat it just in case: I don’t write any scenario or headcanons that involves the characters or the s/o being animals or half an animal, I find it quite disturbing :(
🌸  If your request haven’t been completed just wait a bit more please :( I’ll do them all asap but it can take time
That’s all! Thank you for reading and don’t hesitate in requesting something!  ♡

Temper Temper
Tumblr media
Summary:  During practice one too many questions from Takeda leads to Ukai shouting at him. It's a mistake he instantly realizes and he only hopes that he'll be able to make this right as quick as possible.
A/n:  This is my first Haikyuu!! fic, but it was so fun getting to write and try out these new characters!  I hope that you enjoy this little fic, that sort of got away from me and became something else entirely!
You can also find it on ao3 : https://archiveofourown.org/users/ragewerthers/works
Word count: 3,003
---------------------------------------------
“- isn’t that right, Ukai-kun?!”
“Huh?” the coach of Karasuno asked as he took his eyes away from the practice in front of him to glance at his boyfriend.  He’d just been analyzing the movement of Asahi’s latest spike maneuver when Takeda had interrupted him… again.
It really wasn’t anything new, but this had to be the tenth or eleventh time in no less than twenty minutes and honestly… it was starting to grate on Ukai’s nerves.
He’d had another early morning, a dull work day and now all he wanted to do was focus, but his thoughts kept getting interrupted with questions and comments from the other man and they were beginning to create a budding headache that seemed hell bent on settling in his temples.
Ukai would’ve been happy to go over everything with the man after practice.  However, Takeda seemed unable to just let him do his job for two seconds and honestly it was started to grate every last nerve in his body.
“I was just saying that the way Asahi and Suga are starting to sync up more is incredible!” Takeda chirped enthusiastically, looking over his notes as Ukai sighed and turned his attention back to the practice, trying to keep his temper in check.
‘Keep your temper, Ukai.  He’s just excitable.’ he thought to himself, trying to refocus on the practice… which lasted all of no seconds.
“They’re really going to be formidable in the next match!”
Keep your temper, Ukai.
“Isn’t that the technique that you were talking about last practice?  The one where Sugawara aims slightly higher for Asahi?”
Keep…. Keep your temper, Ukai.
“Do you think that it’s reaching where you need it to?”
Keep.  Your.  Temper.  Ukai!!!
“I was looking over a few things from the last match and I thi-,”
“SHUT UP, SENSEI!” Ukai finally shouted, his outburst echoing off the walls of the small gymnasium as he turned narrowed eyes back to the teacher, his temper finally getting the better of him.
Takeda sat there with a look of shock over his features, brown eyes wide with surprise.
“I-I… I was just tryin-...,” Takeda stuttered, but it only served to make Ukai snap again.
“I don’t care!  I just want to watch them practice for a second without getting your secondhand comments!  I need to focus if we’re going to win our next match and you constantly interrupting my thoughts isn’t helping so just be quiet!”
As soon as he said the last word he regretted everything that had tumbled out of his mouth and if he could’ve he would’ve gladly reached out and pulled them back.  However, the damage was done and he could see it plainly before him in the way Takeda’s shoulders fell, his eyes refusing to look at him.
Without another word Takeda stood, obviously flustered, and quickly made his way to the exit, tripping over himself slightly before disappearing out of the door and leaving behind a decidedly far too quiet gym.
Turning his head slightly, Ukai could see that not only had he managed to hurt his boyfriend, but he’d managed to do it in front of everyone.
Looking over at the players he could see Suga was looking at the door Takeda had just recently exited, a frown on his features.
Meanwhile, he felt other eyes boring into him.  Unmistakably from Daichi and Asahi.
He groaned and glanced back at the glaring third years.
“What are you all lookin’ at?  Keep running those drills!” he shot back, getting a feeble reply from his team before they went back to their original practice though not without a few more glares sent his way as if marking him for his cruel behavior.
Ukai glanced back at the door to ignore them.  Really it hadn’t been that mean of him, had it?  Yes he’d regretted saying it, but… was it really so bad?  He’d yelled at the students a number of times and none of them had ever gotten this upset.
Though… generally when he shouted he tried to give it a good reason.  To make them pay attention, to keep them focused.
When he’d snapped at Takeda it hadn’t been with either of those things.  Only his own bad temper getting in the way.
Something caught his attention out of the corner of his eye.
Looking next to him on the bench he saw a notebook stuffed to the brim with papers and neat, familiar scribbling all over it.
Picking it up he realized it was one of the ones Takeda had started bringing to practices and as he leafed through it he saw notes on all the game plans he’d ever mentioned, on the strong points and weak points of each player he’d discussed and how they could better themselves.
There were also little notes of inspiration he’d jotted down in the corners, thoughtful words he thought might help lift a players spirits even if they always did seem a little poetic and metaphorical.  He was a literary teacher after all, it was bound to bleed into this new part of him.
Takeda wasn’t like any of them.  He knew next to nothing about volleyball, had sort of been thrust into this sport, but... that didn’t stop him from trying his hardest to learn and understand this game that they all loved so much and obviously this notebook was just another reminder of how much the man cared about them and wanted to be a part of their successes and team.
All he’d been trying to do was talk to Ukai about something that he was still learning and was excited to express that knowledge and be a part of this… and he’d literally told the man to shut up as if it were nothing.
Ukai closed the notebook and took a deep breath.  Gone was the headache, replaced with a deep feeling of guilt at being nothing but an asshole of the greatest proportions.
“Sawamura!” he called, looking up to find the Captain getting ready to serve, his expression telling Ukai everything he needed to know about the others opinion of him at this moment.
“I want you to take over practice for the evening.  I… I need to go make… an… apology,” he said with a bit of a shamefaced look.
However, those words were enough to get Daichi to relax his demeanor slightly and he nodded, even offering a little smile.
“Okay.  Just… be careful with our Sensei,” he said simply and Ukai couldn’t help giving a little nod of his own in understanding.
After grabbing his things and Takeda’s notebook he left the gymnasium, looking around outside just in case his boyfriend might still be around, but really, even he knew that he’d have taken off if someone had spoken to him like that.
That little realization only made the guilt build in his stomach.
With the school already locked up it meant that the only place left to go was their little apartment.
This wasn’t going to be an easy apology, but it was one that was best taken care of quickly and he set off toward their home.
-----------------------------------------------------
Their apartment was only about fifteen minutes away from the school and near enough to Ukai’s family store that it made it a perfect location for the pair to move into.
It was small and came with all the little quaint furnishings any home would, but the warmth that he normally felt upon arriving was dulled by the feelings of what he’d done.
Closing the door behind himself he stepped out of his shoes and set them by the door.  The sun was still out, though hanging low in the sky and he could see that the lights had been turned on in the kitchen and living room.
“Sensei?” he called, dropping his bag by the door as well, though keeping the man’s notebook in his hands.
No response came to his call and really, he hadn’t been expecting one.
As he moved through the small kitchen and into the living room he found Takeda curled up on the sofa, a cup of tea resting on the coffee table in front of him and one of the man’s favourite books opened on his lap.  Any time Takeda was feeling down he’d always go for this book, one that held little poems that he’d written papers on in his school days and allowed him to step away from reality a bit.
Ukai hated knowing he’d chased the man so far as to have him trying to escape into his beloved book.
“Takeda...,” he began quietly, but was met with a little shake of his head.
“I-It’s… it’s alright, Ukai-kun.  I’m sorry,” whispered the other, his eyes still focused on the pages in front of him though he obviously wasn’t taking in any of the words.
“You’re… sorry…,” Ukai said flatly, watching as the other man nodded and closed the book on his lap, setting it aside before drawing his knees up to his chest.
“Y-Yes.  I… I shouldn’t have been bothering you at practice.  I just… get excited about all the new things the team is learning and… I want to be a part of it too and learn with you!  I thought...,” he fumbled here a second, a tension in his voice showing Ukai that the older man had definitely gotten the wind knocked out of his sails from his comments and the guilt dug deeper into his chest.
“... I thought talking it out with you was what I should be doing, but all I managed to do was distract you.  I’m sorry, Ukai-kun.  I should… I should just be quiet and shut up while you’re trying to do your best.  How can you concentrate with someone constantly chattering in your ear?  Please… forgive me?”
The more he spoke the smaller the man seemed to become, like he hoped he could vanish and blend in with the couch so that he wouldn’t be a bother to anyone ever again…
And Ukai couldn’t stand it.
“Takeda… you have absolutely nothing to apologize for,” the coach began, watching as his sensei shook his head, ready to form his rebuke before Ukai stopped him by pressing onward.  “You should feel free to ask me those questions anytime.  You put a lot of thought and effort into what you do.  I mean… look at this!”
He lifted the notebook that Takeda had left on the bench.
“You put all of my thoughts into something cohesive and you add little notes for things you think the kids might find inspirational!  I sure as hell can’t do that!  The closest I ever got was a metaphor with alcohol and I’m pretty sure that that is definitely something you shouldn’t be doing with teenagers.  You’re thoughtful and caring and just because you have questions ‘bout something you’re unfamiliar with doesn’t give me the right to shout at you.”
As he spoke, Ukai watched as Takeda’s cheeks and ears started to flush a lovely shade of pink, a little smile growing over the coach’s face to see that perhaps he could still make this right.
Moving closer he settled on the sofa near his partner, setting the notebook on the table and reaching over to put his hand on the sofa between them, his offering to bridge the gap he’d made between them.
“I’m sorry for what I said to you today, Takeda.  I want you to feel comfortable asking me any and all questions you have and making comments about this and that.  I can’t promise that I’ll always be able to answer you or I won’t get busy focusing on the players, but I do promise that I will get back to you soon… no shouting involved.  I need to save that for the first years anyway,” he offered, hoping to get a little smile out of the man.
The last comment did seem to do the trick as his boyfriend’s lips quirked up and into a little smile. After a moment Takeda finally turned his head to look at Ukai, moving a hand down to carefully, gently take his partners.
“You should be a little easier on them sometimes.  Hinata gets enough yelling from Kageyama,” he murmured, though his voice was far more relaxed now, the tension Ukai had heard earlier no longer present in his voice and helping to unfurl that awful feeling in his own chest.
“Maybe I should leave that to you then, Sensei?  You can be in charge of yelling at our team.  After today it’s going to take a lot of free food from the shop to get them back on my side,” he said with a snort as Takeda looked at him confused.
“Back on your side?  What for?” he asked simply and honestly.
“After I was a complete jackass to you, you should’ve seen the glares I got from our crows.  They’re quite protective of their sensei,” he said lightly, letting go of Takeda’s hand to shift closer and wrap an arm around him, pulling him snuggly to his side where the teacher was more than happy to cuddle closer.
However, hearing that the team had apparently been ready to defend his honour, Takeda’s ears and cheeks had taken on that pinkish hue again and he chuckled shyly.
“I’m sure they will be fine with you.  Besides, I’m not much of a shouter to begin with,” the older man said, Ukai’s lips already forming into a leer as his mind moved quicker and as he opened his mouth to speak Takeda instantly cut him off, blushing darker.  “You know what I mean!  Don’t think like that!”
Ukai chuckled and hugged the man closer as Takeda hid his flushed face in his hands.
“I know, I know, Sensei,” he said lightly, pressing a kiss to his temple and soothing a hand along his side, getting a little shimmy from the other.
“So… am I forgiven?” he asked gently, watching as Takeda lowered his hands to reveal a still flushed face.
“Yes.  Yes of course,” Takeda said gently, looking back at his partner and making Ukai’s heart flutter slightly
“So you won’t listen to your dumb boyfriend ever again if he says something stupid like that right?” he asked, getting a little smile out of Takeda and making his own smile grow.
“Then when would I ever find the time to listen to you?” Takeda shot back, a teasing glint in his eyes as Ukai felt his own jaw drop at the comment.
“What?!” he gaped, getting a laugh from the teacher.
“Well… ask a silly question get a… w-wait stahahap!” Takeda squeaked as he felt the hand that had been settled against his side turn into a claw, fingers starting to seek out his most sensitive spot as he lay trapped against his boyfriends side.
“What?  Not so tough now are ya?” Ukai teased as he scribbled his fingers up the man’s side.  With Takeda’s one arm trapped between them he reached over with his free hand to grab Takeda’s other wrist, keeping his arm from protecting his now vulnerable side.
“AH!” Takeda yelped as Ukai’s hand now found some far too ticklish ribs to play with, his fingers easily gliding up and down as the poor literature teacher giggled madly, his glasses going askew as he shook his head.  “Staahahahahap!  I’m.. I wahAhahAS j-just… just tehehehea-GAHAHA! NONONO!”
Whatever he wanted to say was lost in the brightest laughter Ukai had ever heard out of the other man.  His fingers had strayed up just a little too far and had brushed against Takeda’s underarm.  Ukai paused a moment, lightly scribbling his fingers there once more and finding the other man practically leaping into his lap to get away from the sensation.
“Is this a good spot then, Sensei?” he teased, letting his fingers wriggle right into the center of his armpit and drawing a snorted laugh out of the other.
“YEEY-EHEHES!” Takeda answered truthfully because even when being tickled to insanity by his boyfriend he still couldn’t find it in himself to not give a proper answer.
“Maybe this will be my signal from now on instead of getting upset?  If I need a moment to focus I’ll just reach over and find one of these weak spots of yours.  Like here, or here… or what about here?”
Deciding to give the poor man a little breather he moved his hand from his underarm to reach lower, slipping his fingers under the other’s shirt to lightly spider over the side of his tummy, making the man kick out his legs and almost knock over the books and tea cup that were resting on the coffee table.
“OH!  Looks like we have a winner for best spot!” Ukai teased as he continued to vibrate his fingers against the sensitive spot, sending Takeda into the loudest, happiest laughter that honestly had Ukai chuckling along with him.
“OK-OKAYAhahAHAHA!  nO-NO moa-ahahare!” Takeda begged thruugh a wheezing laugh and finally Ukai decided to have mercy on him, simply pulling the other man close to his chest and soothing against his arm as he heard his sensei catching his breath.
“But honestly, Takeda… I really am sorry that I was so harsh.  It was uncalled for.  I promise it’ll never happen again.  And now I know how to get you to let me focus in a… kinder way,” he said lightly as he got a little snort from the other.
“K-Kinder?!” Takeda squeaked and Ukai chuckled, kissing his partners brow a few more times until he heard a breathless chuckle escape him.  “I-I suppose I can… I can live with that.”
“Good.  I’m glad to hear it.  Just like I’m always glad to hear you,” he murmured softly, feeling the warmth radiating from the other man now.
“Now you’re… you’re just being sappy,” the teacher teased, yipping as it earned him a little pinch, Ukai chuckling at the reaction.
“Oh, shut up,” he murmured fondly.
“Never.”
“Good.”

------------------------------------------------------------------
TRIGGER WARNING FOR SELF HARMING
------------------------------------------------------------------
I sigh and pull my skirt down a little bit as I got up from the toilet. I gotta cover it. I think before hearing the bathroom door open. I clear my throat, fix my skirt and walk out, wash my hands and walk back to the gym. "Hey! Y/N-chan!" I hear my childhood friend and longtime crush yell as he runs over to me. "Hey, Yuu. How's it-" Before I could finish, he was on the other side of the court, fawning over Kiyoko, like he always does. I sigh and walk over to the benches to sit. "Y/N-san, are you alright?" I hear Suga ask, to which I nod. "Yeah, just a little tired. You know me, almost spending all night on the internet." I joke. "Is this about-" "No." I say, cutting off his inevitable question. He sighs, shrugs, grabs a bottle of water and heads back to practice. "Hello Y/N-san." I hear Kiyoko say, and as much as I hated Yuu talking to her, she wasn't a bad person and I couldn't hate one of the only other girls on the boy's volleyball team. "Hi Kiyoko, how's practice going?" I ask as she sits down next to me. She closes her eyes and lets out a long sigh. "That bad, huh?" I ask and she nods. I laugh slightly at her reaction.
Noya's POV
I see Y/N laughing next to Kiyoko. "Staring at Kiyoko again Yuu? I hear Ryu say with a smirk before hitting me on the back. "You know me man, of course I am!" I say with a chuckle as he walks back to practice. I look back to the two girls, seeing the Kiyoko was looking through some papers and Y/N was looking really uncomfortable and sad. "Y/-" "Noya! Get back to practice!" I hear Daichi yell before I sigh and turn around to the others, joining in on the game.
Your POV
I sigh as I pull my skirt down and adjust it again. "You alright Y/N?" Kiyoko asks and I nod my head. "These benches are just a little uncomfortable and somehow it's pulling my skirt up. I'm just making sure I don't show anything by accident." I say with a small, nervous laugh. "Well, alright, if you say so." She says before walking over to Takeda-sensei. I stare down at my clasped hands on my lap and sigh again. Why can't he notice me instead of her? What makes her so....perfect to him? I mean she's pretty, but he used to call me pretty as well. Was it all just a form of pity? "Y/N!" I hear someone yell and I snap my head up, only to be greeted by Noya. "Geez, were you off in space or something?" He says as he places himself on the bench next to me. "G...gomen..." I say quietly. "So, what were you daydreaming about?" He asks and I just shake my head. "Nothing, just something I saw online last night. I don't think you'd be interested in it." I say, trying to avoid saying 'You, baka'. I hear him sigh as he rests his arms on his knees and leans on his hands. "She's so perfect, no-one will ever be as perfect as my goddess, Kiyoko Shimizu!" I cringe slightly before turning my head the other way. "Y...Yeah..." I mumble. "How about after practice we walk home like we used to when we were kids? I'll even buy you some ice-cream!" He offers, and as much as I wanted to, I couldn't let this go on any longer. "No thanks Noya, I've got something to do after school. Thanks for asking though." I say before I jump at a simple touch. "Come on! Stop being so uptight, let's go to the arcade!" He says before I push his hand off my knee and stand up. "I...I've something to do." I say before grabbing my bag and walking out the door. I stop out the front of the school and lean against a wall. Why do you do this to me? I think as I grab some of my hair and let some tears fall.
Noya's POV
I shrug and run over to Asahi before getting hit on the head by Ryu. "Ryu?! What the heck?" I say as I rub my head in pain. "You really are an idiot Yuu." He says and I stand up as tall as I can, which isn't very. "Says you! You're the dumbest person I've met!" I shout in defence. "At least I know when someone does or doesn't like me." He says and I back down slightly at Daichi's orders. "What are you talking about?" I ask and he sighs as the rest of the team walks up to us. "I can't believe you haven't realised yet. Y/N-" "Y/N-SAN LIKES YOU!" Hinata cuts of Ryu and I back up slightly. "W...what?" I ask and get a sudden crushing feeling in my chest.
"She's so perfect, no-one will ever be as perfect as my goddess, Kiyoko Shimizu!"
"Y...Yeah..."
"Oh no....." I say before running over to my bag and running out the door. Crap, crap, CRAP! Why was I so stupid to not see and say something like that!? I think to myself as I try to remember where Y/N house was, it had been such a long time after all. I let out a smile and a small chuckle as I stand outside her house. I run inside, wondering why the door was left unlocked. She lives by herself, so it should be locked. Think to myself as I search around on the bottom floor.
Your POV
I hiss quietly as the blade ran across my skin. I'm sorry mom, dad. I know I promised not to do this anymore, but it's too much for me to take. I think as I sat on the floor of my upstairs ensuite bathroom. I had turned over my picture of my family after both my parents died. I drag the blade over my thigh again, holding back my disgraceful and ugly cries. I did it again and again and again until the heartache was gone, but it never left. I finally snapped. I couldn't hold back my tears and just began bawling as pools of blood formed on the floor of my bathroom. "Y/N?!" I hear Noya's voice yell and I gasp. "N....no....not you..." I whimper as he bangs ring through the door before it's finally broken open. I look up at him in shock before trying to hide in shame. "Y...Y...Y/N..." He stutters as he falls to his knees. "D...don't look at me!" I yell as I try to push myself away from him, but hit the side of the bathtub. He crawls closer and picks up my arm, looking at the scars closely. "Y/N, how long has this been happening?" He asks, and since he called me by my full name and not my nickname, I could tell he was serious. "I...It's been so long, I don't remember when I started." I said before he let go of my arm and got some things to disinfect and cover the cuts. "The others told me how you felt..." He says keeping his eyes on my cuts. "O...oh?" I look away from him and curse the others in my head. "I'm sorry for not figuring out sooner....I'm sorry for always talking about Kiyoko around you....I....I'm just sorry." He says, applying antiseptic to a piece of cotton.
I hiss and growl in pain as he applies antiseptic onto the fresh cuts. The silence is making this really awkward... I think as he cleans up the towel he used to clean the blood. "Why didn't you tell me you were doing this?" He asks, with his back turned to me. "I...I didn't want you to know..." I answer before whimpering in fear as he spins around and grabs my collar. "WHY NOT?!" He yells at me before his eyes go wide and he lets go of me. "I'm sorry, I'm just mad that I wasn't there for you when I should've been." He says before sitting on the ground next to me. "I didn't want to annoy you with something so petty when instead you could be admiring Kiyo-" I stop myself before continuing and losing him. "This is nothing to ignore Y/N. You need to tell me these things, no matter what. Forget about Kiyoko, I almost lost you! I...I don't know what I'd do if I actually lost you..." He says with a hung head. He stands up and holds his hand out to me, helping me up and into my bedroom. He sits me down on the couch and sits next to me.
"You don't have to force yourself to like me..." I tell him as I look away. "Force myself? I've only just realised I really like you as well." He says and my heart shatters. "You don't." I say as he leans forward to look at my face. "I do." "No, you don't! Stop lying to yourself and me." I say before being pulled into a soft hug. "Don't tell me how I feel. I know what I feel for you is real." He says as he rests his chin on my head. "B...but you always talk about how perfect Kiyoko is, so how can you like someone so pathetic like me?" I ask as my legs began to tremble. "I'll be the first to admit that I do talk about her a lot, but right now all I want to think about is you. I'd stop thinking about her if it made you happy, I'd even give up volleyball!" He says in a joking manner, causing me to chuckle. "I'd do anything for you Y/N." I smile happily. "Alright, I guess we can try it..." I say before he pushes my head onto his lap. "Noya!?" I ask in shock before he leans down and kisses me! My eyes stay wide for a second before slowly closing slightly and then finally closing. I wrap my arms up and around him pulling him closer to me. I feel him pull away slowly as I open my eyes. "N...Noya..." I say as he strokes my cheeks softly. "I really do love you Y/N. I hope you believe me." I smile and close my eyes. "I do, don't worry." I say before slowly falling asleep on his lap, but before I do I hear him say something as he lays down next to me after moving me to the bed.
“Don't scare me like that again. I'll help you with everything I can, but you need to tell me. I'll be there this time, I promise.”

Note
1, and the entirety of karasuno in one closet haha
Here goes nothing this got a little long and this is my first time trying to write a Haikyuu!! fic so I apologize in advance
“I know you’re afraid but we can’t hide in this closet forever.” Daichi looked around at the fearful huddle, it was hard to tell where everyone was since the light switch was outside the closet, something they hadn’t factored into their plan when they had stampeded in.  The storage closet was wall-to-wall teenagers, give or take a few adults. His captive audience seemed intent on studying their shoelaces or the ceiling panels.
Hinata piped up from his position on the floor, breaking the silence, his back leaning against the ball bin
“Are you sure we can’t stay here forever? I have two whole energy bars.”
“I have a banana.” this came from the right side of the ball bin, Daichi took a deep breath
“Tanaka, why do you have a banana”
“They are nutritious” Tanaka said through a mouthful of banana. Noya slapped it out of his hands, the noise echoing through the closet
“Rationing Ryu! Remember in that movie we watched last night? Half the people starved to death before the zombies even got to them. Booooring. We gotta ration that shit”
Somewhere closer to the door Yachi squealed
“Zombies?!?!?!?  Nobody told me there would be zombies! What are zombies weak to, garlic? Wait no, that’s vampires. Brains! I don’t want a zombie to eat my brain! I just finished studying for my English exam. I need it. Is that all high school is, filling your brains for zombies?”
He heard a light tap and he really hoped that was Kiyoko reassuring the poor girl with a friendly pat and not a slap to her senses.
Beside him Suga let out a sigh
“There aren’t any zombies. Only an angry Vice Principal”
“Why am I here?” Tsukishima asked the ceiling
“Hinata knocked the toupee off the Vice Principal again and-“
“Shut up Yamaguchi”
“Sorry Tsukki”
“I mean why am I here. I didn’t knock it off. I am an innocent bystander”
“Tsukki, you did put the wig on a volleyball and say it looked just like him”
Tsukishima snorted, “You gotta admit it was pretty funny”
A soft moaning was coming from the ball bin “I was so close to graduating too. Now I really am going to be the creepy guy who never graduated from high school”
“Get out of the ball bin Asahi.” snapped Daichi
“But it was my spike that bounced off Hinata. I’m going to be in high school till I am 30 for sure”
“It was fun being your coach while it lasted kids”
“Ukai don’t say things like that, you’ll scare the children. Don’t worry team; everything is going to be fine. No one else saw and as long as I get on my knees and apologize, I’m sure it will be fine. We don’t need this-” Takeda-Sensei gestured at the mop that was inserted through the door handles “If I just go out and explain-”
“We are way past that Sensei” Tanaka stared morosely at his phone, its light illuminated his face as if he was about to tell the mother of all horror story
The rest of the team stared at him
“You know how I was recording the serve practice on my phone so we could play it back?”
“Yeah? Wait don’t tell me. Please tell me you just deleted it”
‘So after…you know what happened, I texted my sister, ’cause  you know she graduated a few years ago but this one time the vice dean almost suspended her so she wanted to see the video and I tried sending it to her and” Tanaka was breathing fast the words pouring out faster and faster, maybe not letting him keep the banana had been a bad idea
“Let me guess, she post it online or something?” Tsukishima was ever the optimist as always
“No way, Big Sis would never do that” Noya called out jumping to his feet ready to defend Saeko’s honour
Tanaka waved his hands urgently “No no, nothing like that. Well, kind of like that. My sister didn’t do anything….I did”
“Tanaka…”
“I accidently set it as a story on Facebook so everyone could see it. I meant to just send it to her but I guess my finger slipped and I pressed something else as well. I deleted it as soon as I realized but by then a few minutes had passed ’cause we were busy you know…. hiding and a few people had already seen it by the time I got to it”
For a moment the only sound in the closet was the soft snoring coming from somewhere near the ball bin.
Hinata jumped up
“Well I guess this is my new home. Look, Kageyama is already asleep he has accepted his fate. I guess I’ll just live here for the rest of my life. The phantom of the Karasuno gym. Or there are sixteen of us, what do you call a group of phantoms?”
“Phantoms”
“Phantoms right, thanks Tsukishima. Do you think we can get from this closet to Nationals without anyone noticing? Maybe we could have secret games in here! Look we even have a net!” Hinata pointed excitedly at the folded up net that was leaning against the wall. Ennoshita ,who along with Kinoshita and Narita had made their home underneath it, glared at him
“Hinata please, this closet is tiny we can’t play volleyball in here”
“Volleyball?” Kageyama woke up with a jolt rubbing drool from his mouth
“No, we are not playing volleyball right now. We are hiding, god damn it! Which means we need to be quiet!! ”Daichi yelled and immediately slapped his hand over his own mouth. Outside they heard footsteps
“Sir, expelling the whole team might be a bit much”
“They stole my wi-hair piece”
Tsukishima gulped as even without light the rest of the team turned to look at him
“It was an accident. I had the thing on the ball and someone said to run so I just kind of carried it out with me”
“Hinata’s ‘live in the closet’ plan is starting to look pretty feasible.” Ennoshita groaned
“We even have two whole buckets. This one can be number one and this one can be number two” Noya held the two buckets up sporting a grin that illuminated the dim room
Kiyoko stood up “I am not doing my business in a bucket”
Kiyoko said business!” Tanaka and Noya wailed
Kiyoko marched over to the door nodding to Takeda-Sensei as she set her hands on the mop
“Wait Kiyoko, don’t do anything rash!” Daichi moved in front of the door and Kiyoko took her hands off the mop
Daichi continued, “I am sure if we all work together, we can think of something that doesn’t involve pissing in buckets”
“and shitting” Noya added helpfully
“or getting expelled” ignoring Noya Daichi turned hopefully to Suga
“So what is the plan?”
“Tsukishima pass me that”
Wordlessly Tsukishima passed the hairpiece forwards
In the blink of an eye Suga had the door open and with all his strength threw the offending hair piece out of the closet, where it landed on the opposite side of the gym with a splat. Suga slammed the door, placing the mop back in the locking position
“How does that help?” Daichi wondered aloud
Suga grinned at him
“I panicked”
“Okay, let me out guys and I’ll pull the fire alarm. I’ll take the fall” Tanaka stood up and began to make his way to the door only to slow as he noticed his left leg seemed to have a growth on it
The orange growth cried out “Tanaka-senpai you can’t!”
“Do you have a better plan Hinata?”
“What if we hit him with the ball again and make him forget he got hit?”
Takeda groaned clutching his nose, he could feel a headache coming on “I don’t think further assaulting the Vice Principal further is going to help. Concussions don’t work like that”
“So what do you suggest Sensei?” all focus was on him, his time to shine
“The Vice Principal most likely doesn’t know about the video making it online. If we all beg for forgiveness and just not make any outlandish requests for awhile we might make it out okay”
“Nationals is coming up we can’t afford to get distracted. Everyone be on their best behaviour for the next few weeks and maybe this will all blow over” Ukai added
A jolt of inspiration hit Takeda-Sensei “We could all chip in to buy him a new wig, I mean hair piece.”
“Aren’t those really expensive” Hinata asked from his position still clutching Tanaka’s leg
“We have a little bit of surplus right now thanks to Yachi’s donation campaign and we don’t have any practice matches lined up ’cause Nationals is so soon. Subtracting the bus to and from nationals we might be able to manage it. It means no year end party though, no matter what happens at Nationals”
“That’s it, I am pulling the fire alarm” Tanaka tried to move again but Daichi held out a hand to stop him
“If we go down, we go down as a team” and with that Daichi pulled the mop from the door and opened the door. Light streamed in momentarily blinding them
“Here goes nothing”
Karasuno marched forth, to their doom or a brighter future, only wig time will tell which.
