Drake Bell obviously suffered horrific abuse in his adolescence on a professional television set that should have been protecting him, it is undeniably disgusting what he went through. And he goes into detail about how severely this affected his mental health and relationships with others.

However there is this undertone in his interview of basically

"🥺���👈 so when you think about it, all the stuff that I did to minors is actually really not that bad in comparison to what happened to me."

And that's just not true. He shouldn't have been abused and he is a victim. But that doesn't absolve him of the fact that he also grew up to be a predator and perpetuate the abuse he himself suffered onto others.

Billy Corgan's solo career showed the perils of the alternative rock players in search of their own identity outside their groups. I mean, what could they have possibly done? I'm not surprised many of them returned with their bands, yet I'm grateful almost all of them tried to do something on their own. For instance, Chris Cornell, my choice for the best grunge vocalist, had a highly uneven solo discography. Then again, he did attempt several different directions without fully developing any of them in spite of some intriguing opportunities they showed. Moreover, I would suggest Euphoria Morning, his debut, presented a more interesting musician, though I sort of get why the things went the way they did – the collectives these musicians were a part of sonically cast a long shadow.
