Day of "Pride" for all Indians
On March 23, (Martyr’s Day or Shaheed Diwas), we remember three extraordinary Indian revolutionaries who were hanged by the British, namely Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru, and Sukhdev Thapar. “The sky wept when the three young birds flew away. They were laughing but India cried. Live well and die well. Sutlej’s crematorium wept on Mahavidai. The roses of the necks anointed the mother. The whole…

Shaheed-E-Aazam Bhagat Singh was called Terrorist by British Raj, but to Indians he was, is and always will be a Freedom Fighter
Indian socialist revolutionary Bhagat Singh and his comrades, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru, were executed by India’s British colonial rulers.
During Singh’s short life, he became one of the most influential revolutionaries in India’s independence movement.
Although he respected Mahatma Gandhi’s role in organizing people to resist British rule, he also developed a critique of Gandhi’s methods and vision for a post-independence India.
Despite his atheism and Marxism, he’s still revered today by all sections of the country and is referred to as Shaheed-e-Azam (the Great Martyr) in Punjabi.
On March 23, 1931, Bhagat Singh and his two fellow revolutionaries were hanged.
As they marched towards the gallows, they reportedly chanted, “Down with British Imperialism” and “Down with capitalism!”.
Their actions and subsequent execution by the colonial regime inspired many and made them revered figures in the Indian struggle for freedom against the British Empire.
Just like Palestinians Resistance is called a terrorist group by the Western Nations simply because they refuse to give up their land for European and North American White People. Palestinians are indigenous to the land of Palestine. Becky from Brooklyn is not. This is not a war about religion, this is a struggle for their motherland of Palestine, this is a struggle for equal rights, this is a struggle for Palestinians for the Right of Return to their homelands from which they were and are being driven out by Terrorist militias in 1948 and by Europeans and North Americans with the help of Terrorist Organization IDF. Israel has made this struggle an excuse to commit GENOCIDE & ETHNIC CLEANSING of Palestinians. This is about BRUTAL & TERRORIST COLONIZER State Israel (like the British Raj in India where they STARVED & KILLED MILLIONS of Indians) and OPPRESSED & DISPLACED People of Palestine (Something that former colonies like India know)

On this day, 23 March 1931, Indian revolutionary socialists Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar were executed by British colonial authorities in what is now Punjab, Pakistan. They had been sentenced to death for assassinating a senior British police officer in 1928, to avenge the police killing of Lala Lajpat Rai during an anti-colonial demonstration. While they opposed British colonialism, rather than narrow nationalism they advocated working class revolution against both British and Indian capitalists. They were all just 22-23 years old. Singh commented: "They may kill me, but they cannot kill my ideas. They can crush my body, but they will not be able to crush my spirit". In the wake of their conviction, Mohandas Gandhi appealed to the Viceroy of India to commute their sentences, but he also appealed to huge crowds not to take action to secure their release, as he had signed a truce agreement with authorities. After they were executed, Gandhi was greeted by a crowd he described as "incensed" flying black flags and shouting “Gandhi go back”, “Down with Gandhism”, “Gandhi's truce has sent Bhagat Singh to gallows” and “Long live Bhagat Singh”. After their deaths, Bhagat Singh in particular became a national hero. On this day, 17 December 1927, Indian revolutionaries Bhagat Singh and Shivaram Rajguru assassinated British colonial police assistant superintendent John Saunders. The original target of the attempt was the superintendent, who was responsible for a violent attack by police on protesters which led to the death of independence activist Lala Lajpat Rai. After the killing, the Hindustan Socialist Republican Association, of which Singh and Rajguru were members, put up posters declaring: “Today the world has seen that the people of India are not lifeless; their blood has not become cold. They can lay down their lives for the country’s honour… We are sorry to have killed a man. But this man was a part of [a] cruel, despicable and unjust system and killing him was a necessity… This Government is the most oppressive government in the world.” Singh, Rajguru and their co-conspirator, Sukhdev Thapar, were later arrested for the killing, tried and executed. https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/2163262423858896/?type=3
