అది 1994-96 మధ్య నేను(వేంకటేశ్వర్లు) పాలమూరు నుంచి చదువు కోసం వెళ్లి.. 8వ తరగతి నుంచి 10వ తరగతి చదువుతున్న కాలంలో అప్పుడప్పుడు ఎంటర్టైన్మెంట్ కోసం సరూర్ నగర్ చెరువు(కింద) దగ్గరలోని "శివగంగ 70MM" కు కొత్తపేటలోని వీఎంహోమ్ రెసిడెన్షియల్ కమ్ హాస్టల్ నుంచి మా స్కూల్ వార్డెన్ (రిటైర్డ్ ఆర్మీ), నాలుగు కళ్ళ వాచ్ మెన్ కంట పడకుండా ఫస్ట్ షో లేదా సెకండ్ షో సినిమాకు పోయి మళ్లీ ఎవరు హాస్టల్ రూమ్ కి వాళ్ళు గప్ చుప్ గా వెళ్లి వచ్చిన రోజులవి. అప్పుడు సినిమా టికెట్ ధర రూ. 1.50 పైసలు. ఫ్రెండ్స్ కొంతమంది కలిసి వెళ్ళేవాళ్ళం. మా హాస్టల్ పెద్ద బూత్ బంగ్లా(నిజాం కట్టిన చారిత్రక కట్టడం విక్టోరియా మెమోరియల్ హోమ్)లా ఉండేది. ఇప్పటికీ అలాగే ఉంది.

మా స్కూల్ క్లాస్ మేట్స్, మా సీనియర్లు ఆ చుట్టు పక్కలనే ఉంటున్నారు. వారు వారి కుటుంబ సభ్యులు క్షేమంగా ఉండాలని కోరుకుంటున్నా. ప్రస్తుతం శివగంగ థియేటర్ ప్రహరీ గోడ కూలి వందల బైకులు నాశనం అయ్యాయి.

Bank of Maharashtra to auction Videocon-backed unit's assets in Tamil Nadu

Companies News

State-owned Bank of Maharashtra has put on sale the assets of Unity Appliances Ltd, a unit backed by Videocon Industries, at SIPCOT industrial estate in Shivaganga, Tamil Nadu, for defaulting on payments.

The outstanding dues of the unit are over Rs 153 crore, plus interest, from January 5, 2018. Unity is involved in manufacturing of air conditioners and refrigerators.

Videocon and its promoter Venugopal Dhoot are guarantors to Unity Appliances, according to an auction notice placed by Pune-based Bank of Maharashtra.

The electronic auction for land and machinery is slated for March 30, 2019 with a reserve price of Rs 42.34 crore for land and Rs 72.82 crore for plant and machinery.

The Videocon group is among 40 large defaulters identified by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) first for insolvency proceedings. The group's core businesses are consumer electronics and oil and gas exploration.

The lenders are auctioning the electronics business estimated to be worth $2 billion.

The subsidiaries of Videocon Industries are into manufacturing, sale and distribution of consumer goods. Some of the units referred to NCLT include Value Industries, Trend Electronics, KAIL, Millennium Appliances India, Applicomp India, Sky Appliances, Techno Electronics, Century Appliances, PE Electronics, Next Retail, Evans Fraser & Co and Videocon International Electronics.

The Kashi Vishwanath Temple does not have a specific dress code. However, there is a general dress code that is enforced. Visitors must cover their arms and legs when entering the temple. Traditional Indian attire is not required, and western clothing is permitted.

How to reach the temple?

During this period, lakhs of devotees throng the Baba Baidyanath temple. Most of them first visit Sultanganj, which is 105 km from Babadham. In Sultanganj, the Ganges flows to the North. It is from this place that the devotees collect water in their kanwars and carry the holy Ganges water, with the kanwars on their shoulders. They walk 109 km up to Baba Baidyanath temple at Babadham reciting Bol Bam on the way. On reaching Babadham, the kanwarias first take a dip in the Shivaganga to purify themselves, and then enter the Baba Baidyanath temple, where the Ganges water is offered to the Jyotirlingam. This pilgrimage continues during the whole of Shravan for 30 days, during July–August. This is the longest religious fair in the world. People from foreign lands also visit Babadham not only during Shrawan month but also during the rest of the year. The sight on the way from Sultanganj to Babadham is of a 109 km long human chain of saffron clad pilgrims. It is estimated that within this period of one month around 50 to 55 lakhs pilgrims visit Babadham. Besides the great pilgrimage of Shrawan, almost the whole year remains under fair with Shivaratri in March, Basant Panchami in January, Bhadra Purnima in September.
