This toy train was a 96 km journey from the small town of Kalka that is located at the base of the Shivalik Hills. Kalka to Shimla distance by toy train is relatively short, but because of the mountainous terrain the train moves slowly thus allowing you to enjoy the breathtaking scenery. To cover this distance, the time taken by Toy Train from Kalka to Shimla is around 5 to 6 hours depending on the train you choose.

There are many of government and private Bus Services in Delhi run between Delhi to Shimla. Volvo, semi-sleeper, and deluxe buses are available from Majnu Ka Tila and ISBT Kashmere Gate. It takes 8-10 hours and buses generally travel overnight, enabling you to arrive in Shimla early morning.

By Train

Train buffs can travel by train from Delhi to Kalka (e.g., the Kalka Shatabdi) and then ride the famous Kalka-Shimla toy train which passes through 103 tunnels, pine groves, and picturesque mountain scenery.

By Flight

Shimla has a small airport in Jubbarhatti some 23 km from the city center. Flights are few, and because of the unpredictable weather, they can be delayed or even canceled.

Manali to Sissu Distance

Sissu is located in Lahaul Valley. It is one of the most beautiful places that you should visit. The place is famous for its beautiful landscapes, waterfalls and peaceful environment.

The distance from Manali to Sissu is around 40 km and it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours by the Atal Tunnel (Rohtang Tunnel). A smooth journey through a road carved into the mountains along a hilly track, where one can get to see a beautiful wonder of the snow-capped Himalayas and lush green valleys.
