Summary: Neku's home. Finally.
It’s kind of amazing, Neku thought with a small smile. It’s been three years, yet Shibuya hasn’t changed a bit. He glanced over his shoulder, where a very familiar bronze statue of an Akita stoically stood guard over the Shibuya Station Square. Especially not you, Hachiko.
Neku smiled softly and reached out to gently rub the statue’s snout; he certainly wasn’t the first, as evidenced by the distinct golden sheen of the pooch’s nose compared to the burnished russet luster of the rest of its body. It seemed ages ago now—the day he’d stood here with Shiki, frantically rubbing the statue to reveal the Wolf Noise concealed beneath. Heh, but there’s no Noise to worry about now that we’re back in the RG, eh, boy? Neku said silently to the statue, smirking. No more Noise, no more Reapers, no more Games…
Just all of us here in Shibuya, living life to the fullest.
After giving it one last pat to the muzzle, he pulled his cellphone out of his pocket to check the time. Just as he did so, a frazzled voice floated out from the cacophonic din of the scramble crossing.
“Waaaaah! I’m sorry I’m late!”
Neku glanced up to see Shiki scurrying toward him, skirting this way and that to avoid the meandering pedestrians with small squeaks of “Excuse me!” and “Pardon me, please!” She looked so afluster, with her short brown hair bouncing around her flushed face and her cardigan flapping around with each frantic movement, that Neku couldn’t help but smile. Three years, and you haven’t changed a bit, either.
Shiki stumbled to a stop in front of him, then doubled over, her hand over her chest as she wheezily gulped down air.
“I’m—haaaah—so sorry! I—haah—the shop—haaaah—inventory—haah—disaster—!”
“Don’t worry about it,” Neku reassured her with a chuckle. “I wasn’t waiting long, and besides, I had Hachiko to keep me company,” he added with a small smirk toward the dog statue.
Shiki giggled. She took another moment or so to catch her breath, then slowly straightened up, her entire body slumping as she wearily exhaled. Her glasses were askew on her face, and sweaty flyaways stuck up from her hair in several places. She’d obviously run here in a full sprint, eager not to waste a single moment she had with Neku. He’d been back in the RG for several days now, but they had been a whirlwind, and he really hadn’t had a chance to really catch up with Shiki. He was glad to see that she was just as excited about it as he was.
A warm and fuzzy feeling started to spread through Neku’s body, and a smile tugged at his lips, making him reflexively try and tug up the collar of his coat to hide it.
“Still, I’m sorry you had to wait at all,” Shiki said with a regretful smile, then reached up to adjust her glasses. As she did so, she cast Hachiko a soft, contemplative look. “But he does keep good company, doesn’t he?”
The fuzzy feeling overtaking Neku swiftly evaporated, forced away by the sharp pang of guilt that pierced his heart. How could he forget? Shiki had spent the better part of the last three years in this very spot, waiting for hours on end in the hopes that it would be the day of his miraculous return. He averted his gaze, this time to try and conceal the mortified flush and pained grimace on his face. Of course, it did little good; he couldn’t hide anything, not from Shiki.
“Neku? You okay?”
“I-I’m fine,” he lied, though he still couldn’t force himself to meet her curious gaze. Frustrated with himself, he rubbed at the back of his neck and tilted his head up to look at the sky. “Anyway,” he said, desperate to change the subject, “why don’t we get something to drink? You ran all the way here; I’m sure your thirsty.”
“That sounds lovely! I could definitely go for an ice cream float from Hachiko Café right now.”
Neku peered down to see Shiki smiling pleasantly at him. It helped ease his nerves, and he relaxed, dropping his head back down to return her smile. She made to start walking, but he quickly stopped her by gently grasping her elbow and shaking his head.
“No, I’ll get it,” he insisted. “Why don’t you just rest for a moment?” He motioned with his chin at one of the nearby benches.
“O-okay, if you’re sure,” Shiki stammered bashfully. She gratefully bowed her head, but Neku didn’t miss the rosy blush coloring her cheeks or the giddy smile pulling across her face.
Cute, Neku thought. She really was adorable, getting so overwhelmingly happy at such a simple gesture. Of course, Neku wasn’t ignorant of the reality. Shiki wouldn’t get this happy over just anyone.
There was only one reason someone spent three years devotedly waiting for someone to return. It didn’t take a genius to figure it out; hell, even Beat comprehended the nuances of Neku and Shiki’s relationship—and that guy probably couldn’t even spell “nuance.” Point was, Neku wasn’t oblivious to the depth of Shiki’s feelings for him. He hadn’t called her out here just to catch up. No, it was three years overdue, but Neku was going to tell her how he felt, too.
But first, he needed some liquid courage. Neku hadn’t exactly spent the last three years brushing up on his communication skills. In fact, after having only Coco Atarashi for company, his social ineptitude was probably worse than ever. Nothing an iced cold brew wouldn’t fix… probably.
Tumblr media
“It looks delicious! Thanks, Neku!” Shiki chirped when Neku sat down on the bench beside her and offered her the ice cream float. She took it gratefully, and Neku was so enchanted by the way her eyes sparkled like the carbonation fizzing in the watermelon soda that he momentarily forgot about his own drink. Shiki spooned several bites of the vanilla ice cream into her mouth before she took notice of Neku staring intently at her, and when she did, she flushed.
“Ah… Neku, is there something on my face or something?” she fretted and started patting around her mouth worriedly.
“What?” he blinked, so out of it that it took a moment for her question to register. When it did, he hastily shook his head. “Ah, no, sorry. I was just lost in thought.” He tried to wash down the embarrassment with a sip of his coffee, but it just seemed to energize the butterflies fluttering in his stomach. He squirmed uncomfortably on the bench as they frantically flapped away inside of him, making his stomach twist and turn.
“I’m glad you haven’t changed, Neku.”
Neku turned to look at her again when she suddenly spoke up, and he found her staring wistfully into her cup. She idly swirled the spoon around in the mixture, making streams of vanilla ice cream slowly streak through the bubbly green soda.
“Did you think I would?” Neku asked, the smile pulling at his lips a little crooked.
“I don’t know,” Shiki answered with a small laugh. She nervously twisted a piece of her hair around her finger as she tilted her head to the side a little, looking a little bemused. “But I had a lot of time to think, you know. I wondered where you were, what you were doing, who you were with…” She breathed a quiet sigh, and Neku was sad to see the light in her eyes had dulled a little. “Three years is such a terribly long time. I guess deep down I was a little worried that you’d come back and…”
She was silent for several moments. After a bit, Neku narrowed his eyes and pressed, “And…?”
Shiki fidgeted uncomfortably, then glanced down at her drink again. Her thumbs moved back and forth over the plastic cup, smearing the dewy condensation into thick lines.
“And things wouldn’t be the same between us,” she finished finally, her voice small. “That… You hadn’t spent nearly as much time thinking about me as I’d spent thinking about you.”
“Shiki,” Neku said, swiftly setting his coffee down and turning toward her. She looked up at him, eyes watery and hopeful, and it broke his heart. “Shiki,” he repeated, earnestly. “There wasn’t a single day where I didn’t think about you.”
“Really?”
“Really,” he nodded. He was terribly self-conscious about what he was saying, and he ducked his head as the heat rose to his cheeks. Despite the overwhelming urge to clam up, he resisted, forcing himself to voice the feelings he’d clung to those three long, lonely years. “That whole time I was in Shinjuku… I knew that I had to solve the mystery of its erasure, but that’s not what kept me going.”
He peered up through his bangs at her. Shiki hung on to his every word, leaning forward, eyes wide and mouth slightly agape. It made his heart stutter in his chest, and the storm of butterflies in his stomach were rapidly approaching the force of a whirlwind. But Neku had faced vicious Noise, merciless Reapers, even death itself. He could face this.
He took a deep breath. He reached out and took her hand, and intertwined their fingers. He gave Shiki’s hand a squeeze. Then, he looked straight into her eyes and said, “What kept me going was you. I wasn’t going to stop until I was home, because…” He stopped again, struggling with the right words to use. It seemed like none of them were good enough, would ever come close to conveying the depth of his feelings. He smiled apologetically to her and chuckled wanly, “Sorry. You know I’m not good with words.”
“Then don’t use words.”
Her bold statement took him aback. Shiki was staring at him intently, the shine in her dark brown eyes brighter than it had ever been. Once again, she was waiting for him, waiting for him with all-encompassing faith and unyielding conviction.
Don’t use words, she says, Neku thought wryly. All right, then. I won’t.
With his free hand, Neku cupped her cheek. She reflexively leaned into his touch, and he fleetingly marveled at how soft her skin felt against his palm. He could honestly sit there all day and just admire her, every single facet of her being—but Neku had kept her waiting for quite long enough. There wasn’t a moment to lose, not now of all times.
So Neku wasted no time in closing the distance between their faces and pressing his mouth to hers. He’d figured he’d get all in his head, worry about if he did it right; instead, he found all the thoughts washing out of his mind until the only thing left behind was her. The scent of her coconut shampoo wafting up his nose, the taste of vanilla and melon lingering on her lips, how perfectly their mouths seemed to fit together, like a long-lost puzzle piece finally clicking into place. A peace like Neku had never known enveloped him, and it finally clicked.
“I’m home,” he whispered against her mouth with a smile.
He felt Shiki’s lips move against his, mirroring his blissful grin.
“Welcome home, Neku.”
And he wasn’t going anywhere. Not this time. This time, he was here to stay.

poly relationship with neku & shiki
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing: neku sakuraba x gn!reader x shiki misaki
a/n: i've been replaying the first twewy game (& hope to replay neo:twewy soon) so i had to write for my favs from the og cast! but i'll post poly for neku & his two others partners too <3
Tumblr media
shiki and you are much closer at first, as neku just has a hard time opening up and isn't super social when you first start dating
he has grown a lot already, but he knows that he still has to improve, so that eventually there's no trace of the antisocial asshole left that you and shiki first met
even though the two of you liked him back then, he's determined to be a better person for the two of you! but that sometimes leads him to isolate himself
neku struggles to show how much he cares about you and shiki, while he's also the one most passionate about the relationship and an absolute simp for you two!
both neku and shiki are incredibly touch starved, but neku even more than shiki
those two felt so lonely and isolated for such a long time, that they're desperately longing to touch you, while also being too shy to initiate intimacy
both of them also need a lot of reassurance and reminders that they are loved the way they are!
shiki struggles the most with confidence, regarding her looks and her talents, while neku often wonders if he's even a good person…
whenever the three of you go on dates, you meet up at hachiko! it's your little spot and it holds so many memories, that even if it'd be quicker to meet somewhere else, you will always meet at hachiko's statue!
due to dating shiki, you and neku quickly become close friends with eri too!
shiki never shuts up about you and neku, leading to eri knowing all the details of your relationship and becoming your biggest supporter!
shiki not only makes the three of you really cool throuple costumes when halloween comes around, but she also makes regular clothes for neku and you!
and while she always refuses to let you pay for them, as she sees them as gifts, neku and you always sneak some money into her wallet when shiki isn't looking…

🎁 General Audiences
🎁 2.6k Words
🎁 For the @twewysecretsanta!
Neku Sakuraba never thought in a million years that he'd get another chance at celebrating Christmas.
He'd saved Shibuya again, reunited with his friends, and even made new ones along the way— It was a happy ending no matter which way you sliced it! Or at least it seemed like it. Why did it all feel too good to be true?
“Neku?” Right, Shiki was with him. He didn't want to worry his girlfriend over something so inconsequential.
But to her, it was anything but that.
Hello everyone! And a belated Merry Christmas to you! ^^;
Thanks to the world of retail sucking the life outta me in the Holiday season, plus catching NO LESS than three colds in December alone, this took longer than I expected.
This is the fic for my giftee @ghostofchaosyettocome in the TWEWY Secret Santa event, using their prompt of a Post-NEO Neshiki Christmas (along with a hint of PTSD!Neku cause we need that drama lol) I hope you like it! <3
Tumblr media
And so there she was, sporting an adorable Mr. Mew Christmas sweater of her own making which honestly looked far too big on her, all the while staring at him with a hint of confusion.
Neku Sakuraba never thought in a million years that he'd get another chance at celebrating Christmas.
To say being trapped in the endless void of Shinjuku for two years was scarring would be an understatement— seeing what could only be described as ‘ghosts’ of souls that used to live in a thriving environment, replaying the same tormenting cycle as if they were still alive, when they clearly weren't.
It had taken Neku a long time to come to terms with this fact. That they weren't there. Weren't real.
Yet still, the souls would continue acting on autopilot, reflecting habits from their old lives. Everything from talking, to laughing, to even celebrating. It was a truly surreal experience that never had Neku feeling more alone.
Because of this, the legendary player would find himself understanding better than ever that old saying of ‘You never know what you have until you lose it.’ And the feelings were very much still present, despite having escaped both Shinjuku and the Reaper's game almost five months ago.
He'd saved Shibuya again, reunited with his friends, and even made new ones along the way—It was a happy ending no matter which way you sliced it! Or at least it seemed like it.
Why did it all feel too good to be true?
“Neku?”
A firm yet gentle voice broke the teen out of whatever trance he'd placed himself in, almost causing him to jump out of his skin if he didn't stop himself on time. With all that thinking he'd almost forgotten where he was.
Speaking of his newest friends and going back to the holiday season, the Wicked Twisters had proposed the idea of hosting a small Christmas party with the gang. Well, it was mostly brought up by Fret, who got immediate backup from Shoka and Nagi, so it wasn't like anyone else could refuse.
They'd do it relatively early though, so everyone could still have enough time to go home and spend the evening with their families as well.
The Twisters were in charge of the food, with Fret claiming he had connections with a few restaurants that might be willing to lend a generous hand. The Bito siblings would take care of entertainment, Rhyme almost signing up for the position by herself since she had a few new gadgets she'd been tinkering with that, according to her, would make their little get together much livelier.
Which left Neku and Shiki with the decorations.
The duo had made a date out of the whole thing by going to purchase everything from a tree, to snow globes, to even small things like wrapping paper. Shiki spared no expense in acquiring any of these either, since she considered herself the host due to the party being held at her apartment— It was the largest out of everyone's homes.
Once they'd reunited at the Hachiko statue and fulfilled the promise they'd made to each other all those years ago, Neku felt bold enough to declare his feelings, and he could've never expected them to be reciprocated. After everything he'd put her through, after being what could only be described as a major asshole for the majority of the time they knew each other, how could someone like Shiki Misaki have feelings for him?
Right, he hadn't answered yet.
“Sorry, what was that? I spaced out for a sec there.” Neku rubbed at the back of his neck with a sheepish grin, hoping he could get away without any inquiries.
Shiki continued to stare, most likely trying to decipher what was hiding behind his current expression, before extending her hand towards him. “I'll say! I was asking if you could pass me the ornaments from the box over there.”
Neku followed to where she was gesturing and quickly found the cardboard box behind him. It was filled with all sorts of nick knacks brought together by the gang, each with their own special meanings and ready to be placed on the tree. The teen pushed the box in her direction with a smile. “Sure thing. We won't be short on these, that's for sure.”
As she accepted the box and gave him a small smile, the brunette pushed it to the side for the time being. “Yeah, everyone really put their all into this! Still… you okay?” With a roll of her eyes, Shiki joked lightly. “I'll be needing my decorating buddy at a hundred percent if we're gonna get this done on time.”
“Damn. Guess I can't fool her…” Neku prided himself on being able to mask his true feelings in front of others without anyone realizing it. He'd definitely gotten better over the years in expressing what he felt, but there were times when he didn't deem it necessary, and even considered that they would be a burden if not handled carefully.
But if there was one person that could see right through him, it was Shiki.
Despite knowing all of this, he tried one more time, not wanting his dumb thoughts to interfere with the jolly energy of the season. He smiled once more with a hint of embarrassment in his voice. “Of course I'm okay! I've just been kinda stressed lately with all the organizing we've had to do. Not that I don't enjoy spending time with you, but who knew planning a party would be this hard, haha…”
The look on Shiki's face was more than enough for him, though; It was clear she didn't believe him. Still, her eyes didn't reflect negativity of any kind.
She stood from the ground next to the tree and boxes piled around her, making her way to Neku. After sitting next to him on the couch, she tentatively reached for his hand, but not quite touching it, allowing him to make the first move if he so desired. She then spoke with that firm yet gentle voice he'd grown to love so much. “Hey. Talk to me. Please? Remember you're not alone anymore— I'm right here if you need anything.”
The fluttering in Neku's chest was completely uncalled for and Shiki had no right in bringing him so much comfort. Making him feel taken care of. As if he was special.
And yet that was one of the many qualities that made him love his girlfriend so very much.
Shiki smiled in return with a soft pink hue adorning her cheeks. As she squeezed her boyfriend's hand once more, she rose from her seat. “Actually, wait here! I'm gonna grab something real quick!”
Still, it was true. She claimed to have fallen for the real Neku. The one she'd slowly gotten the pleasure of knowing during their time together in the Reaper's Game— a boy who'd been hurt by the world and only wanted to be left alone, but deep down had a heart of gold that wouldn't allow him to leave those in need.
And so, to literally no one's surprise in their friend group, they became a couple.
It was both awkward yet endearing, and neither could be more happy. But of course, after everything the legendary player had gone through in his two years stuck in Shinjuku, it took a while to readjust and feel comfortable around everyday mundane stuff again.
Shiki learned how to handle Neku's anxieties, his worries, and his fears— most of the time whenever he was having a crisis, their friends would call her immediately to ask what to do. And even though he hated being a burden, the seamstress merely shushed him and said that she did it gladly.
And so here she was, doing the thing she did best— bringing him back to his senses and making sure he felt safe.
He reached for her hand and interlocked their fingers, squeezing slightly while she did the same. She was warm. She was real. “I guess I'm just… still wrapping my head around being here. With you guys.”
With her eyes encouraging him to elaborate, he did. “I spent two years away from everyone. I know it's already been months since then, but there's always that voice nagging at the back of my head… whispering and making me question things.”
“Things like what?” Shiki leaned closer, not into Neku's personal bubble, but enough to show that she was paying close attention.
“Things like… is any of this for real? Or not? I… I get scared thinking I'll just wake up one day and still be stuck there. Thinking that this was all a dream,” a bitter chuckle escaped his lips. “Coco was probably the only person who kept me sane all that time, believe it or not.”
“And that is why she and Tsugumi are getting extra presents this year.” Shiki nodded towards the unwrapped gifts still laying on the coffee table. She bumped her shoulders against his with a wink. “Gotta show appreciation for taking care of my spicy tuna roll in my absence.”
The duo chuckled with the tension dissipating from Neku's shoulders bit by bit. How could she do that so effortlessly?
“In any case,” the brunette turned her gaze to their intertwined hands, gently tracing circles around Neku's knuckles. “I can't begin to imagine what that must have been like. I know you've already told us a bit about it, but if there's anything I can do to make that feeling become a little less overbearing, just let me know. I'm sure the others would do the same, if you ever feel like sharing.”
Neku gave her a soft smile, a genuine one this time. As he lifted their joined hands, he was sure to plant a soft kiss on her own backhand, scarred from all the sewing she was used to doing. In a way it was kind of ironic— she also had a wounded heart, one that Neku did his best to show love and appreciation to every day, and yet she still focused on other's well-being first and foremost. “You're already doing enough just by being here.”
A blush spread across the teen's face with a breathless chuckle leaving his lips. “Come on, Shiki. These are far from perfect. Still, I'm glad you like them.”
With that said, the seamstress practically skipped over to her bedroom in what could only be described as excitement. It took her less than a minute to return with a medium sized box, wrapped in green wrapping paper and tied in a neat purple bow. A grin spread across her face as she presented the gift with pride. “Merry Christmas!”
“Wow, hey,” Neku returned the smile, albeit seeming hesitant as he looked at the box in her hands. “We're doing this now? I mean, we agreed to open the gifts with everyone…”
Oh don't worry, I've got another much less interesting thing wrapped for you under the tree.” Shiki nodded towards a tiny box lined next to the few wrapped presents that they'd already finished. “Besides, I get girlfriend priority— Now just open it!”
The teen chuckled in amusement, but gladly took the package off her hands and started weighing it around, curiosity clear in his gaze. It had to be something handmade. This was Shiki after all, and she always put that kind of effort into her gifts.
He could've never predicted what was inside.
The box opened to reveal a medium sized notebook, along with a kit of markers and crayons of pretty much every shade of the rainbow. After flipping through the booklet, his mouth hung open slightly.
It was a journal.
“I know your therapist recommended that you keep one, but I couldn't help but notice that the one you have is… well, kinda plain.” Shiki fidgeted with the hem of her fluffy sweater as she began her explanation. “Shoka helped me pick the design and I added the little doodles inside. You can make your own, though! And it also has a custom playlist on a few important dates…”
Tiny drawings with everything from character portraits, to animals, to musical notes were sprinkled here and there. Shiki had never been much of an artist, but Neku could tell she'd spent some time making these. The smile wouldn't leave his face as he kept flipping through it all. “This is… amazing. I love it.”
“You do? Ahh, I'm so glad! I know it's not the best, but I figured it would look better than your plain old notebooks.” Shiki giggled and started showing off some of the things she'd included personally in the journal. A page for positive talk, another for gloomy thoughts that wouldn't go away, and even one for things he might wanna talk to her about.
It was one of the cutest things he'd ever gotten, and honestly he shouldn't be surprised.
“Well, I guess since we're starting early, might as well give you yours.” Neku leaned over to reach for his backpack on the side of the couch, rummaging through it until he found a small green box with a silver bow. He turned to the brunette with a shy smile, not quite meeting her eyes. “Merry Christmas…”
Shiki's eyes instantly lit up as she quickly accepted the gift. With bated breath, he saw her open the box and delicately grab what was nestled inside.
Two small plushies were now in Shiki's hands, and not just any plushies— fluffy replicas of both herself and Neku.
The stitching was quite rough, a few strings already coming loose around the edges, but you could see the tiny details embedded into the fabric. Patterns, accessories and more were all there. The dolls smiled back at Shiki, and Neku could've sworn he heard her gasp softly. “Neku… did you… did you make these?”
Neku merely scratched at the back of his neck, looking anywhere but in her direction as he began to ramble. “I mean, Eri helped me pick out the materials and with the designs, but all the stuffing and stitching was definitely me. I know they aren't great, but you always get me handmade stuff and after thinking about Mr. Mew I thought I could do something similar? You're more than welcome to fix them though, I'm sure you'd do a much better job—”
His train of thought was promptly interrupted by a pair of arms snaking around his own, pulling him downwards with a soft pair of lips placing a kiss on his cheek. He then heard her giggle, happy and carefree. “Are you kidding me? Neku Sakuraba, I am not touching these unless they start falling apart in my hands! Because you made them, and that makes them perfect.”
And that was more than he could ever ask for.
“Like them? I love them!” Shiki reiterated the point by giving the plushies a bear hug. “Now I can have you with me no matter where you are. Doesn't mean you can go off and get yourself tangled in more world-ending adventures, though!”
Neku laughed in reply, feeling the last shred of uneasiness wash away from him. What did he do to deserve such happiness? “I'll keep that in mind. Anyways, you think we can get back to work? Don't want the others to realize we've been goofing off. Nagi won't let us live it down.”
Shiki laughed in reply, placing the dolls on top of her chimney for them to guard the stockings. “Oh man, it's Shoka I'm most worried about. I know she has something special planned for Rindo, so we need to get this tree up and running STAT!”
“Aye aye, captain!” The teen situated himself next to his girlfriend and began to help her decide which ornament would look best where.
Life wasn't always fair. But for some reason Neku couldn't possibly grasp, it was now being extremely kind to him— With a family who cared for him, friends who adored him, and the love of the girl who stole his heart.

End of Neshiki week :[
I'm honestly really sad that Neshiki week is coming to an end, but I think it'd be much better to end it on a high note than a low one.
I put a lot of effort into this fic, So I really hope you all like it!
It was made for the “free day” prompt, so i decided to make a small mermaid AU.
well, I say “small” but this is actually the largest fic in the Neshiki Tales Vol 2. collection.
Enjoy!

NekuShiki question time! :)
1. Would they want to have kids? How do they tell each other?
2. Is there any scenario/au you would like to see them in (more often)?
3. How do they make up after a fight?
I think they would, but not a lot of them. I'm thinking either one or two. And I have no idea how they would tell eachother, so i'm going to skip that part x)
A scenario I'd like to see more often... I think them making mistakes. being imperfect. hurting eachother and working through it. being young, being free, being the teenagers they weren't allowed to be because of Neku's second death. Because Shiki spent three years waiting, and Neku spent three years in purgatory, and now that they're back in the RG they should get silly with it. I think part of what makes me like them a lot in an highschool setting (after the og, before A New Day, or in an AU) is that they're usually very imperfect and clumsy there, but they still love eachother anyway, so much. Also I love the idea of both suddenly getting a group of friends when they were pretty lonely before XD
I'd say it depends of the fight. If it's a small one, not really high stakes, they just got annoyed or frustrated but none of them is really hurt, they'd do something silly like a joke to the other one and move on, or just help them out with something. They wouldn't need to talk about it. If the fight was a serious one though (I think they'd be rare but still happen sometimes), they would first need time to chill. Shiki, especially. Neku is pretty chill after neo, but I think Shiki can still get mad pretty easily because she's very stubborn and adamant on some things. Time might have eased her rough edges, but they're still lying beneath the smooth surface. So firstly they'd take a break x) And then they'd be able to talk about it. Their talks may vary in lenght, some might be very quick and some might take multiple hours if the issue was a big one, but they don't leave anything unsaid, whether it's positive (remaining silent on his feelings for Shiki before A New Day was... maybe not a Good Choice for Neku, and he knows it. Shiki can only know how much good other people think of her if they tell her outright) or negative. Neku might need to push Shiki sometimes to voice the negative parts... because she's so happy he's back that she refuses to admit that some things might be wrong. Neku on the other hand is more likely to remain silent on very small things that bother him than to do so on important stuff. He'll compromise on which restaurant Shiki wants to go all the time, accepting her choice way more often than imposing his, but he won't lie on the important stuff, because if it remains unsaid it'll never be solved. The only issue is that he might be too brutally honest on those sometimes ^^" But in any case, before moving on, they'll hug and make sure each of them feels validated and loved, both to ease Shiki's anxiety, and to reassure Neku on his trauma of isolation.

GIVE ME THE ANGSTY NESHIKI. I DEMAND IT. why do the JN fans get to eat so much good angst but NS is all soft and shit. MAN
Well people are gonna make what they wanna make I guess 😅 also having soft, fluffy stuff is good once in awhile. Plus these two are always admired for their healthy communication styles so mutual comfort fics are bound to be abundant. It doesn't mean ns has no angst potential though, they're an ENFJ x ISTP duality pair, so they're bound to have some frictions just by their natures alone.
Since you asked for some angsty post-neo stuff (I guess) here are a few:
1.) I personally think that Neku never really gets comfortable in social situations. He still remains somewhat socially awkward even post-neo, and never really quite be good at reading the room, which became a great source of insecurity for him. He particularly dislikes when Shiki invites him to one of her high-end business parties because of how much it alienates him and reminds him of how much he sucks in this type of environment. And oh, he also hates it when Shiki got to be close with other men who are more animated and socially competent than him (he despises the fact that he isn't really built like them and able to be quite as good at matching his girlfriend's social energy and emotional sensitivity)
2.) I have a headcanon that the Hachiko's gang memories of Neku actually dwindled after awhile during the course of the 3 years as a result of the world trying to erase any trace of him ever living after his passing and the three had to try their damnest best to preserve it by trying to jog their memories of him constantly. Might as well also make it the reason why Beat oddly only made a few refferrences about Neku during his time with the WTs (his memories only got fully restored once he showed up) and Shiki being reduced into a bawling mess in the end is because she had perhaps become the one among the three who had been the most obsessive when it comes to trying to maintain her memories of him. I can see it might even have badly interferred with her Gatto Nero work too, since her obsessiveness of trying to stay focused on remembering a seemingly non-existent guy made her seem somewhat crazy and delusional to others.
