One thing I wanted to mention with my previous post regarding jason Todd's canonical race is the evidence of eye color. And I know that this is a fictional world full of magic and aliens and resurrection from the dead like daily, but I 100% used this topic as an excuse to do a bunch of research on eye color as a huge science (mainly genetics) nerd. Don't judge.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, I'll link my previous post here:

While it's not impossible for people of races other than caucasian to have blue eyes, it's very uncommon.

Disclaimer: most of the stuff I say is theorized based on our understanding of human evolutionary patterns and genetics, but not everything is officially proven. The conclusions that I draw from the facts I listed are my own theories and interpretations of results, but I could not find a whole lot of information to support or dispute them

Basically, everything I have found to be factual is this:

Eye color is related to the main pigment in the eye: dark brown melanin.

Blue eyes are the result of a genetic mutation that is believed to have been an ancestral founder effect, originating in Europe around the Baltic Sea (theorized, study linked below)

Blue eyes, in simplest terms(because eye color, like skin color, is not controlled by just one gene and can't be determined by a simple momohybrid/dihybrid cross) is a recessive phenotype and brown eyes are considered a dominant phenotype.

Regionally, blue eye frequency is lowest in African and Asian countries, and other areas closer to the equator ( that was my own interpretation of results)

It is theorized that the "original humans" or oldest known evidence of human life were black and seemed to originate in the African region

It is also theorized that caucasians originated due to a genetic mutation that allowed immigrants to populate latitudes where too little ultraviolet B light for vitamin D production penetrates the atmosphere.

It is universally assumed by scientists studying human evolution that the need to make more vitamin D at northern latitudes drove genetic mutations that reduce the production of the pigment melanin

So, what conclusions can be drawn from this?

Well, one thing is that a possible explanation for the lack of blue eyes in people of color is simply that they don't have a lot of ( and for some, if any) caucasian ancestry. That means it wouldn't be possible to "obtain" the blue eye gene genotypes. And since blue eyes are recessive, the only ways a person could have the blue eye phenotype is if both their parents were carriers, one had the phenotype and the other was a carrier, or both had the phenotype. And I know unusual things happen where dark-skinned people have blue eyes, but it's more common for POC to have blue eyes if they have enough caucasian ancestry to inherit the recessive blue eye genotypes.

So what does this have to do with Jason Todd?

Well, him and both of his biological parents had blue eyes. That + their pale features (and Sheila's blonde hair) mean that they're all most likely white or more caucasian than any other race.

Even Willis. Even if certain other features provide some evidence of asian or indigenous ancestry, his last name + his blue eyes show that he's most likely more caucasian than any other race.

She ultimately settled down in a park to play her beloved guitar. Since her hobby is playing guitar, singing and composing songs. She was just having fun that night, anticipating that others would notice her excellent singing. Then there was this young man named Patrick, who was really captivated by Sheila's singing voice. He wants to approach her, but it's almost 12 a.m., and Sheila hastily returns home, fearful that her parents would discover her sneaking out in the middle of the night. Patrick is always waiting for Sheila at the park where he first met her as a result of that experience. They weren't in that circumstance till they bumped into each other by mistake. They are caught off guard by one another's presence. That was the time when Patrick had to overcome his nervousness in order to speak with Sheila. Surprisingly, they have similar vibes and personalities, and they both enjoy music, particularly acoustic. The next night, they are always in each other's company, sharing many experiences, moments, and life events, but Sheila never tells Patrick about her conditions because she doesn't want to get to the point where if he knew about her conditions, he might not see her again because she is also developing some attachment to him. Until Patrick asked her out on a date in the morning, which she couldn't accept to even if she wanted to, so she just walked out and left Patrick hanging. So Patrick waits anxiously for her in the park the next night, but she never shows up after that encounter. As a

result, Patrick gets quite depressed. He was merely wandering around the streets every day until he noticed Sheila peeking out her window again. However, when she sees Patrick, she quickly flees, and a few minutes later, Patrick knocks on their door. Her father then opens the door and inquires as to who he is. "I'm Sheila's friend, might I have a minute to speak with her?" Patrick said. ".Her father was baffled as to how her daughter could have a friend if she didn't go out. So he just gets on it and tells him to go inside while he calls Sheila from upstairs. Then, right there in the middle of their conversation, Sheila reveals the truth about her behavior the night before. Patrick, on the other hand, does want to embrace it wholeheartedly because he is growing feelings for Sheila. As a result, they agree to only meet at night, when there is no sunlight. But one day, Sheila starts a conversation by asking, "How does it feel to be in the sun?" ”. Sheila asks Patrick for a favor that she will treasure till the end of her life because she wants to experience everything before her health worsens. Patrick first refuses to comply, but Sheila is insistent about it, and this will make her very happy, so Patrick agrees and rents a boat so that they may sail early in the morning when the sun is just rising. In that very moment, Sheila can’t explain her happiness she just enjoy and cherish that moment with Patrick. Sheila died unexpectedly a few days later. When Patrick found out, he was shocked and depressed, so Sheila's father handed him a notepad in which Sheila created a song specifically for Patrick. Then Patrick makes a promise to himself that Sheila would always hold a particular place in his heart, no matter what.

Hayes was in that role for the better part of 20 years, becoming such a close associate that Prince installed him in a house across from Paisley Park.

Nothing in that time was quite like Prince’s dazzling, rain-drenched halftime performance at Super Bowl XLI in Miami ten years ago. Few of the 75,000 people in the arena or the estimated 140 million television viewers are likely to forget that 12-minute set -- performed during a rainstorm -- which kicked off with “Let’s Go Crazy,” shifted quickly into “Baby I’m a Star,” then took a sharp turn into a quick covers medley: “Proud Mary,” “All Along the Watchtower” and a big surprise, the Foo Fighters’ 2005 hit “Best of You." The set climaxed with a triumphant, downpour-spattered version of “Purple Rain,” during which a huge white screen was unfurled with Prince’s shadow projected onto it, and -- in some people’s opinion -- the silhouette of his symbol-shaped guitar resembled a giant phallus, setting off a predictable explosion of righteous right-wing fury that was ultimately eclipsed by the rapturous reviews of the performance. In virtually every poll or article published since then, Prince’s halftime show has been rated the best of all time.

Hayes has performed with many artists over the years -- Sheila E, Stevie Wonder, Chaka Khan, Herbie Hancock, Lenny Kravitz, Maceo Parker, Elton John and Kanye West -- and his current projects include ongoing work with the NPG and new artists like Cobi, the EDM outfit Lordz Uv, and a forthcoming documentary called World Symphony for Peace in which he travels the world collaborating with local musicians. He’s also working on a book about his career called The Ticket. “I saw Prince and The Time on December 17, 1982 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas -- and I’ve had the ticket in my pocket ever since," he explains.

Winter Beach, Sheila Chapman

This drawing was inspired by a family walk on a beach in Ayrshire, south-west Scotland, in January. I wanted to capture the reality of trips to the beach in Scotland, often when the weather is cold but crisp, with beautiful light but everyone wearing their coats and hats. I wanted to try making a drawing on a hard surface, to see what the results would be like. So this drawing is made on board coated with acrylic gesso. I then used acrylic inks, graphite powder and oil pastels (the latter mostly for the detail on the figures) to make the drawing. The final drawing is varnished with UV varnish to protect the colours and surface of the work. The board is mounted on a timber frame support so the picture stands proud of the wall and is ready to hang unframed (the edges are painted white), or could be framed if preferred.
