Gen Shafiuddin Ahmed takes over as new chief of Bangladesh Army

PM Modi congratulated Bangladesh PM Hasina for grand victory
Dhaka/New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina on grand victory for the fourth time in the general elections and repeated the promise of India’s continued support for the development of the country.
According to the latest report released by the Election Commission, ruling coalition led by Hasina’s Party Awami League has won more than 267 seats in the 300-member parliament.
Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina’s Press Secretary Ehsanul Karim told that after the conclusion of the results, Prime Minister Narendra Modi talked to his Bangladeshi counterpart on telephone.
According to Karim, during the conversation, Modi said, Hasina’s victory reflects Bangladesh’s tremendous development under her efficient leadership. Prime Minister Modi gave assurances of continued support from India for the development of Bangladesh.
According to the Election Commission, Hasina-led coalition won the parliamentary elections with a huge majority. The main opposition coalition declared the elections as a “joke” and rejected the results and demanded to hold elections again under the unbiased interim government.
During the voting on Sunday, 18 people were killed in the incidents of violence and more than 200 were injured.

The much-anticipated Dubai Airshow 2019, touted as a barometer for future demands in aviation, kicked off on Sunday at Dubai World Central in Dubai, UAE.
Al Fursan – the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Air Force aerobatic display team, along with the Emirates A380 – the UAE airline’s flagship commercial aircraft, soared through the skies in an unprecedented flypast procession during the inauguration.

The show has become one of the most important specialised aviation exhibitions worldwide and is a major international platform for showcasing the latest defence technology,” tweeted His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nathan.

Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina Wazed also attended the show on the opening day.

The key international event, connecting key buyers and decision makers, will continue till Thursday, November 21.
In 2018, the Dubai Airshow witnessed 79,380 trade visitors, 1,200 exhibitors from 63 countries, 1,603 international and regional media and an order book in excess of $113.8 billion.
This year, the show is expecting almost 90,000 people and will reportedly showcase 165 aircraft.

Bangladesh: Sheikh Hasina won General elections, become 4th times PM
Dhaka : Awami League the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s party has won a grand victory for the third consecutive Bangladesh general elections. While rejecting the findings, the opposition coalition demanded fresh elections.
Earlier, during the voting, at least 17 people were killed in election related violence in different parts of the country. According to media reports, the ruling Awami League-led coalition won more than 260 seats in the 300-member house.
The Legislative Party led by the ruling Awami League won 266 seats in Bangladesh general elections whereas its allies, the Jatiya Party got 21 seats. The opposition National Unity Front (UNF) won only seven seats.
BNPP was the main component in the UNF. According to local media, Independent candidates got success in two seats. Due to the death of a candidate, the election was postponed to one seat. The Election Commission confirmed the full results of the South West Gopalganj seat.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina won with two lakh 29 thousand 539 votes while the opposition BNP candidate got only 123 votes. Bangladesh’s opposition NUF alliance rejected the results of the general elections and demanded fresh elections under an impartial caretaker government.
The National Unity Front (NUF) consists of BNPP, Gono Forum, Ethnic Society Tantric Team- JSD, Citizen Oeka and Farmers Workers’ Janata League component groups. After initial indications of the victory of Awami League-led Maha coalition, NUF convener and senior lawyer Kamal Hussain told reporters, Hussein is the head of the Gono Forum Party.
Hussain requested the Election Commission, “We demand that you immediately cancel this election.” he claimed, ‘We have received news that all the polling stations have been fraudulent. BNP General Secretary Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir described the election as a ‘cruel joke’.
He managed to win the election from his north-west seat. In the absence of former prime minister Khaleda Zia, she is managing the same party. After these results, where Sheikh Hasina will be the country’s prime minister for the fourth time, her main opponent Khaleda Zia is facing an uncertain future in Dhaka jail. He is also partially paralyzed too. Polling was done from 8.00 am to 4.00 pm in the morning.
There were quite a lot of incidents of violence during the voting. According to the ‘Daily Star’ newspaper, at least 17 people, including a member of the security agency, were killed and many others were injured in eight districts in election violence. According to the news, most of the deaths were ruling party workers while others in the opposition BNP or its allies.
