Shadow glanced over at the other individual. There wasn't quite proper recognition of the other being in front of him, though he did seem more than a bit confused by the...striking similarity to him from the other, only his coloration was far different from them.

His red eyes watched the other who matched him for height exactly, like he was a mirror copy. Like the phantom ruby copy but not.

"And you are?" The half-alien hedgehog asked in a rather neutral tone of voice. He didn't have a good gut feeling about the other, but he wasn't about to assume. He'd been in that position before and he wasn't going to be on the opposing side.

Solaris loved them.

At first, there were few. They would dance and sing and smile in the company of a small fire they had built, and Solaris would watch from behind the embers. These humans looked so big from down here. They were fascinating, endearing, inspiring, and Solaris found comfort in them.

Few became many. They cheered and told stories and passed down those stories to even tinier humans, and Solaris would watch from the fireplaces warming their dens. These humans looked so happy from back here. They knew each and every one of their names, and Solaris would greet each new name with a sunny day.

Many became incomprehensible. They built their towers and their altars and had their festivals, and Solaris would watch from behind a burning sun. These humans looked so small from up here. They were precious, fleeting things, and Solaris loved them.

These tiny, precious, fleeting things did not need to be told they were there. They knew. They knew. And they loved them for it.

When Solaris sang, the people knew. They felt it in the tender cradle of a sunset whose warmth would linger just a few minutes longer than it would anywhere else. When Solaris sang, the cold seas would warm and calm. When Solaris sang, the shadows and terrors of night would shrink back away from scared children in their beds, and gentle mornings would greet sleepless widowers with honeyed rays and dove song.

When the humans grew greedy for power and paper, Solaris still loved them. When the humans reached for more and still more and were never satiated, Solaris took pity on them. They provided, and provided, and the humans decided this was not enough. When the humans entitled themselves to their generosity and their mercy and their love, Solaris loved them still and wept.

It rained for three days and three nights when the humans took one thing too much.

When Solaris could love them no longer, the humans knew not what they had lost. The seas could not be quelled, the shadows were not without their nightmares, the mornings were not tranquil.

Still they had their festivals for a god they had slain, still they sang and danced and drank and ate and shivered at relentlessly cold nights.

Solaris had loved them. They had loved them. They had loved them.

Mephiles did not know the meaning of love.

About diamond castle au: Why Apollo did not intervene when Mephiles was taking control of everything? Was he not aware of what happened with the other muses and Silver? Also, how Maria stayed in this situation?

Shadow and Sonic were turned into stones like in the barbie movie?

I am 90% sure, but just to confirm: is Sonic a trans guy in this au? 👁👁

Im gonna answer these questions in reverse so:

1. Yes! Sonic is transmasc in this au and all my other au’s and Shadow is agender but usually goes with he/him pronouns

2. Yes Sonic and Shadow are turned to stone just like in the movie. Usually their joined harmony would be enough to protect them from something like this but cuz of the divorceTM and their fighting (not like the usual kind of fighting they do) they’re not in harmony anymore so they get petrified (all according to Mephiles’s plans). But unlike in the movie Silver does not know this and neither does anyone else besides Mephiles and Iblis

3. During Mephiles’s takeover, after they hid the castle, Shadow and Sonic told all the attendants, including Maria, to flee to prevent capture. But over the many millennia since that happened Mephiles captured them all and turned them all into hypnotised slaves to attend him and only him, including Maria

4. This one is gonna be a doozy cuz there’s quite a bit

The reason why Apollo didn’t intervene with Mephiles’s takeover was cuz he was under the assumption that it was a justified and necessary move in order to save the arts

Ya see it all comes back to the fighting and subsequent divorce between Sonic and Shadow.

It was intense to put it lightly and it seemed basically endless to all the other onlookers, their feud was even infamous amongst mortals and was generally giving the muses a bad reputation cuz of how chaotic these fights can be in the godly and mortal realm, and after hundreds of years mortals could hardly remember a time where they weren’t like this, it was just the norm

(In fact not even Sonic and Shadow could remember how their usual rivalry became this endless bitter fued, all they really know is that the other started it. I’ll probs touch upon this more in its own post but it was actually Mephiles’s fault all along)

The fact that Apollo chose them as his muses kinda made their behaviour reflect badly on him despite them being pretty good at their jobs. Mephiles, being all manipulative, kinda put it in his head that mortals with their ‘fickle feelings’ and ‘simple outlooks on life’ just weren’t really suited to the duties of a god so it was ‘getting to them’

That if they, hypothetically, retired it would probably be best for everyone involved.

So when Sonic, Shadow and their son just disappeared one day along with the castle Mephiles explained that they had lashed out against him and hidden the castle from him and that he had ‘taken care of them’ Apollo didn’t bat an eye. It was sad but if it was necessary then it had to be done, he didn’t actually know about what became of the other two muses but they were out of the way and that’s what matters

From then on Mephiles was the only muse people worshipped and prayed to for all the arts, generations upon generations knowing the tale of how Lord Mephiles bravely defeated the other two muses and saved the arts from their on-going war

Effectively rewriting history and becoming the only muse while the Sonic and Shadow and the truth of what they were actually like, and the fact that they were even married at all was forgotten. They were just minor players in Mephiles’s story, the one-note antagonists who never stopped fighting

Knuckles

Knuckles is very heavily Christ-coded - walking on water, resurrection, prophecies, the whole nine yards. Not necessarily Catholic specifically, but I feel like there’s a comparison to be made between the Brotherhood and the Catholic Church as a structure. Also he’s made it to the semi finals of the Christ coded tournament if that means anything to you

God this whole thing was literally insane. Also pretty much completely forgotten as soon as p*nders was off the comic, which was probably for the best tbh.

Ken penders did a lot of wierd fucking bullshit, and made knuckles literally Jesus.

Nothing left to say except another fuck ken penders.

In the Archie comics, Knuckles inherits the role of being a spiritual leader to a lost tribe of Echnidnas, that have been wandering, searching for their prophesied homeland for centuries. Knuckles is the one to finally lead them there.

He also dies and comes back, and because of this is hailed as the prophesied “Avatar” by his people, the one who’s supposed to bring peace to their planet, Mobius. Cannot for the life of me remember where this went though.

It maybe isn’t allegorical as much as it is the writer thinking putting Judeo-Christian themes would make it cool or something. But the comparison to Jesus is at least intentional, whereas it probably isn’t with Shadow.

In sonic destruction (the AI generated fan thing snapcube made a while ago) shadow was catholic or something which I think is reallyyyyyyy funny

Ok listen. I know this is a stretch but hear me out. He says “oh my God” in the Twitter takeovers so we know this is a possibility. I see him as a Christ-like figure because I saw his whole confrontation with Mephiles and was like “this is a thing that happened in the Bible??” and the pose Mephiles shows him in is literally like a crucifixion and Mephiles is meant to be a demon / false prophet reference. And also he’s called a demon in Shadow The Hedgehog 2005 then the guy who calls him that is like “I was wrong I’m sorry” and that also reminds me of a thing with Jesus in The Bible. But the biggest reason is his whole thing with Maria cause I think he’d come to earth and hear Ave Maria once and convert to Catholicism idk he’s like we’re comforted by a female familial figure named Mary sometimes called Maria?? And her color is blue????? Heck yeah I’m in because I Will Cry. Also feel free to share this as propaganda obv even if he doesn’t get in the bracket just. It’s funny.

I feel like he’d battle a lot with being seen or portrayed as a demon and how the aliens he’s related to very much look and act like demons idk lmao- and also I feel like confession would just be good for him I think he needs it for his mental health

There is a debate on the lovely website tunblr that Shadow T. Hedgehog is an allegory for Jesus Christ.

He is Jesus, idk what to tell you. He lived, he was sealed away, he was awakened again and deemed the ultimate lifeforms, he’s angry but not evil, does what he believes is best for people and the world at any given time. Total loser.

Meanwhile, Moon is a tad bit concerned about his families problems/crimes. Like he wasn't phased at first, but after learning his whole family has:

Attempted murder (either once or multiple times)

Successfully killed someone (some of them, not all)

Overthrown a government and took over said government (Scourge)

Tried to destroy a planet (Mephiles, Iblis, and Shadow)

Committed several war crimes (both on purpose and by accident)

Literally killed gods (*cough* Sonic *cough*)

And somehow, let a crazy zombie doctor who experimented on some kids, turning them into cyborgs, and has probably tried to kill the entire family at least once, be the uncle of the family.

It's fine tho! Moon is only a tad bit concerned! Just a tad bit, definitely not secretly setting up a therapy appointment.

In a hypothetical Christmas Carol scenario, I think the Ghost of Christmas Past for Shadow would have to take the form of Gerald Robotnik, the Ghost of Christmas Present would be Sonic (since he lives in the moment), and the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come would be Silver.

Maria's ghost (Jacob Marley) is the one to warn him that he will be visited by the three spirits in an attempt to save his soul.

When Silver comes, he isn't really all that intimidating about showing him the future until he disappears and some terrifying, forgotten being out of time takes his place--it's Mephiles (or maybe Black Doom) that tells Shadow that the world will turn its back on him and then he just startles awake in a cold sweat. It was all a dream.

Some info about my au and demon abilities and stuff like that

There’s different types of demons with unique abilities, but also standard things that all demons can do

They can travel between the demon world and the mortal realm, although it is possible for their access to the mortal realm to be taken away

All demons have a mortal disguise that they can turn into when they go to the mortal realm

Demons can possess people, although it can be difficult to do so

Demons can go for long periods without sleeping as long as they are fed properly. Different types of demons need different things to gain energy

Silver gains energy from entering and eating people’s dreams. Nightmares give more energy than normal, pleasant dreams

Silver can also put people to sleep with a sort of sleep dust attack (although he can also just use the dust on people without attacking them)

While inside of someone’s dream, Silver cannot change into his disguise and is always in his demon form

If Silver actually falls asleep, he usually ends up going into a feral mode to try and regain energy, usually attacking the nearest person to give them a nightmare to feed off of, so Silver tries his best to to sleep and just feed off of dreams

Blaze is a flame demon and thus can control and create fire

She can also go into the fires she creates and move across them. Her demon form in general can become amorphous as she can literally turn into fire

Blaze feeds off of normal things that can fuel a fire, like wood and stuff like that

Mephiles is a shadow demon and can control darkness and all that kind of stuff

He can shapeshift into other people if he absorbs their energy from their shadow (similar to what he does in 06)

Mephiles can also enter shadows to travel across them or to hide. Sometimes he will just appear out of a shadow from nowhere

Mephiles gains energy from the darkness. It’s kinda like photosynthesis but with shade instead of sunlight

I might have forgotten some information, but these are sort of the basics for now. As always, if you have any questions about my aus feel free to send them in, I love talking about them! I have more lore with this au about the demon world and stuff like that, but I just wanted to focus this post of the abilities so I’ll just have to talk about the actual lore some other time

Ok, this one is a little iffy, for obvious reasons.

*Darkness Falls* ARC

This ARC would be backed up by a miniseries called The Forgotten Ones. It takes place within Null Space, showing Infinite's victims, and various other oddities. (perfect opportunity for some obscure references). And at the end we get a teaser of whats to come, a Phantom Ruby portal dripping an inky black substance. (you already know)

The ARC itself is the long-awaited return of Mephiles The Dark. After being wiped from true existence, he was sent to a place where nothing exists. Null Space.

Once he escapes, his first order of business is to get revenge on Sonic, Shadow, and Silver. In order to do so, he takes a page from Infinite's book and gathers some of the group's most hateful villains. Neo Metal Sonic, Zavok (he's an echidna now, btw), and Black Doom. Behind them, the previously mentioned gang led by Clutch. Mephiles himself plans to destroy the whole world, but first, he'll make the mortals that dared defy him suffer in return. He spends the first half of the ARC getting in the heads of the heroes, stretching them thin with spread out attacks and incidents, remaining secret. Then (in a similar fashion to Spider-Man PS4) the big baddies attack their foes directly. Neo goes straight for Sonic, Black Doom gets Shadow, and Zavok torments Silver. When they're beaten down, Mephiles finally reveals himself to the trio. And the end times begin here.

The Two Halves of Solaris:

Mephiles & Iblis

The two halves were created by Chaos and worshipped by the Ancients. These are my designs for their corporeal forms (to differ from '06) in my Sonic Boom AU: "Shadows & Lights"

Shadows & Lights AU Short Summary:

Both Shadow and Sonic were facility experiments known as "Project Shadow" and "Project Light", where the goal was to create beings that could simulate the powers of The Two Halves of Solaris: Mephiles and Iblis. This secret. facility was located near one of the old temples the Ancients built as places of worship for their gods.

Project Shadow was perfect on the 1st attempt, seen as "The Ultimate Lifeform" because of how closely he resembled Mephiles in both appearance and (theorized) abilities.

Project Light on the other hand... not perfect on the first attempt. Most versions of the experiment would not live past year 4 for "one flaw or another", often discarded and recycled to create better versions of Light, each time getting closer to the appearance and abilities of Iblis. The last version of Project Light was "Sonic". This is the only version of Project Light that Project Shadow had ever met.

Shadow and Light had only known each other for 3 years at the facility, before an incident with G.U.N ended with Project Shadow being in stasis for 50 years, and Project Light being sent forward in time 55 years.

Shadow retained most of his memories from the facility when he awoke, though he has forgotten about the existence of Project Light.

Project Light remembers absolutely nothing, not even their own name. They were pretty much nameless for 5 months until they met Dr. Eggman, who dubbed them "Sonic" due to their incredible speed. Then 3 years later, Sonic met Tails, Amy, Knuckles, and Sticks.

The actual AU itself starts when Tails and Amy are curious about Sonic's childhood, to which they admit that they don't have any memories of such. Their earliest memory is waking up near temple remains far away from the island, a mysterious island that has no record of even existing.

Together, Sonic and Co sent out on a journey to uncover Sonic's past and explore uncharted territory. I mean, what else are they gonna do on a Saturday?

Mephiles and Iblis are responsible for the creation of the Phantom Ruby and Master Emerald (dubbed as the "Shattered Crystals" by Lyric and historians who). The Two Halves are not inherently destructive or evil, instead more benevolent in this AU.

Mephiles is the power of the mind, the intelligence and creativity. The Phantom Ruby grants anyone the power to warp reality with the mind, but if a mind is weak and uncreative, it will be swallowed by the Phantom Ruby itself, leaving nothing behind but a mindless husk.

Iblis is the power of the heart, the flames of hope. True strength is found in kindness and compassion for others. The Master Emerald grants limitless power based on a person's heart, but if that heart is cold and dark, their intent is selfish, it will slowly destroy that person from within and take their life as collateral.

Both the Phantom Ruby and the Master Emerald are currently lost. No one knows where the majority of the shards are located, not even the last of the Ancients, Lyric. The very few that have been found are mostly corrupted...

gonna be real honest with you here - as you know, lila's ship was originally with shadow when i was like 12 and i had a lot of bad memories related with that time period bc i was stupid and all with bad hcs so i just kinda. avoided using lila and shadow in any way together since :'] but now im trying to be over that and i will share the bits i have!!

first off. Lila initially dislikes him bc he stole the chaos emerald that Lila blamed Sonic for stealing. and obviously, it's Lila's fault for blaming sonic, but in a roundabout way she tries to put some blame on Shadow at one point I feel. but Shadow shuts that down, like. "this is your own doing. Face your own consequences" which is cold ofc but this is SA2 shadow and all. but in a way i think he pities her

they have a complicated friendship from that point on, but it IS a friendship. he pretends to think of her as a fool, but he also cares for her in the similar way. I think her energy and kindness and playfulness reminds him of Maria. and Lila...well. we know Lila is always pushing for facts and details, but. I think Shadow is the only one she won't push. She understands he has so much trauma and PTSD and shes sympathetic and respects that its best he not talk about it. at the end of SA2, she tells Tails this when Shadow is presumed dead - that she considers the case closed and that it's best left as it was: forgotten in the past

however a new thing comes into play, by the way, when it comes to the fact Lila dates Mephiles (who takes on a fucked up version of Shadow's form and holds a grudge against Shadow) and Infinite (who holds an even bigger grudge against Shadow) . its awkward but its fine theyre still friends

Oki since someone asked for the Silver headcannons I'll post them, there's quite a few so I hope you enjoy!

Please let me know if I should put a warning

• Silver loves to look at the night sky to see the stars since he came from an apocalyptic future where ash and smog covered the sky

• Silver was originally part of Sonic's time but was transported 200 years into the future by Mephiles to insure the (rewritten) events of Sonic 06

• Silver enjoys botany

• Silver was taught English by Mephiles

• Silver knows seconds and days but has trouble when it comes to hours, weeks, months, and years

• Silver at first had trouble understanding how birthdays worked

• Silver was a lot shorter when he first met Sonic due to malnourishment, making him look like a 10-year-old (despite being 14)

• only Silver remembers the events of Sonic 06 due to Mephiles' interference

• Silver had to ask Sonic what certain words meant ex: parents, mom and dad, sister/brother, etc, etc, the first time he asked Sonic what family was, Sonic was, understandably, confused then worried, afterward, Silver had asked Shadow instead only to get the same results (albeit less obvious) so now he only asks if he can't figure it out on his own

• Silver is used to hot temperatures due to the lava and fire in the apocalyptic future

• Silver gained the ability of foresight, albeit weak, (after Sonic 06) and is only able to use it when meditating (this is so that Silver doesn't have to appear JUST because "oh the future's in danger and he has to prevent it" like in the games)

• Silver can not time travel, that was all Mephiles' doing (^)

• Silver has a fear of fire (pyrophobia)

• Silver can not tell when someone is being sarcastic and will take everything someone says literally, Charmy learned this the hard way when he told Silver to "throw the bucket of water at Sonic" Sonic was knocked unconscious with Tails panicking, safe to say Charmy learned his lesson and was later grounded by Espio when he found out

• Silver's first "food" when Mephiles sent him back was ham sandwiches

• when Shadow had to keep an eye on Silver, (along with Rouge and Omega, due to him getting a head injury because Shadow "accidentally" kicked him and Rouge felt it was their mostly his responsibility to take care of him till he recovers) he saw Silver laying on the ground outside, when Shadow walked over Silver looked at him with big eyes saying "it's so small" with the tone of an amazed child, upon closer inspection Shadow found out that he was referring to a caterpillar he found eating a leaf, Rouge was there recording the whole thing

• Silver managed to make Shadow smile when he first saw snow and started acting like a child on his first snow day

• Silver never told anyone about the events of 06 after the "time-line reset" thinking it was best left forgotten (that and he's afraid of what everyone will think should he tell them that he helped a man, who no longer exists, almost end the world)

• Silver sleeps at 12:40 but will wake up at 4:00 IN THE MORNING just because he's still not used to the concept of time, the only reason why everyone knows this is because one-time Sonic let Silver stay the night at his and Tails place, and Tails ended up finishing a project at 4:33 AM the boy walked out of his lab expecting for Sonic and Silver to be asleep, only to get the absolute daylights scared out of him when he finds Silver (trying to but shh!) Reading a book at the kitchen table, Silver fell out of his chair and Sonic came down running (but not without falling off his bed and hitting his head hard) to check on them, after that they told everyone of Silver's "messed up" sleep schedule

• Silver is illiterate but is trying his best to learn how to read without anyone knowing, so far no one suspects a thing

• Silver has quite a bit of pain tolerance given the fact that Knuckles dislocated his shoulder once and Silver didn't even flinch, even after they fixed it by taking him to a doctor

• Silver can not stay in one place for too long, given the fact that he traveled all over the place in the apocalyptic future, it was only a given that the habit never died, of course, Sonic and co can keep him from leaving by simply keeping him busy, this has helped greatly with surprise party's

• Silver's first "language" was just a mix-mash of 40 other languages

• if Silver doesn't use his psychokinesis he can end up building up too much energy for his body to handle, so what happens if he can no longer handle it you may ask? Chaos, absolute chaos, he ends up acting like Charmy on a sauger rush and Sonic when he has coffee, his abilities go haywire and he doesn't even know it, the worse part is, the only reason he did stop using his psychokinesis is because he made a bet with Shadow to see who can go the longest without using their abilities, Rouge, of course, recorded the whole thing, along with Omega, no one has let him live it down since

• the gold bracelet things (what are they even called?) Silver has can store excess energy and it can store a lot, (so combine that with energy build-up)

• Silver has nightmares of when his primary caretakers were killed, (PTSD?) Though sometimes it would be about Blaze, Amy, Sonic, Shadow, or all of them, sometimes it's them getting killed or them leaving him once they remember or find out about the events of 06, which is why he tries his best to act as normal as everyone else, though sometimes it's about Mephiles telling him things, he tries to bury those memories

• Silver didn't know it at the time but he and Mephiles had a father-son relationship before he realized Mephiles was using him, it saddens him knowing that he might never have that type of relationship again

• Silver sometimes reminds Shadow of Maria with how he acts when he sees/ learns something new

• Silver, Shadow and Sonic have a brotherly relationship, Silver being the young oblivious brother, Sonic being the carefree middle brother, and Shadow being the strict older brother

• Silver may act like a child most of the time but if someone gets in his way of survival, he will go stone cold

• Silver's boots are made of metal so they weigh quite a bit, of course, the only reason why everyone knows this is because when Shadow "accidentally" knocked him unconscious, he, along with Rouge, tried to drag him inside only to find out his boots weighed him down and had to be removed, this lead to the discovery that Silver was underweight, (they left his boots outside, covered by a box because they didn't want to bother trying to move them inside)

• Amy and Vanille were the first to find out that Silver had quite the sweet tooth, he likes marshmallows best

• Silver gets vocabulary lessons from Amy while taking cooking and health lessons

• Vanille makes sure that Silver eats whenever she gets the chance, like a worried mother

• Silver's teeth are surprisingly healthy, just not the cleanest... with a little bit of red staining (though people assume that it's because his gums bleed and not because he ate something he shouldn't have) Amy had to teach him how to brush and had to remind him to brush every night until it became a good habit of his, his teeth are also pretty sharp for a hedgehog (I wonder why)

• due to multiple reasons, (take a guess) most of Sonic Co think that Silver didn't have a great upbringing, with most of them assuming that he had strict parents and lived during a famine in a dry/hot area that was prone to violence, which they aren't wrong but they are?

• with Silver's fear of fire, one would think that he and Blaze didn't get along, but the opposite is true, Blaze keeps using fire at a minimum when he's around and if she did use it then she'd give ample warning time and space before she does it, in return Silver stays close to the ground so he doesn't "trigger" her fear of heights

• Silver does not know anything about romance, so when he starts to suddenly feel odd around Blaze, ex: abnormal heart rate, weird feeling in his stomach, warm cheeks, etc, he asks Amy about it, (mostly because she's been teaching him about health) and she gets excited and tells him about love (she's secretly cupid, fight me)

Lol, the funny thing with Mephiles is that Sonic Team probably decided to make him another hedgehog character to compensate for just how lame he was (not to mention how ridiculous his plan of “Operation Start The Apocalypse By Making a Girl Cry” really was). I mean, the only reason why Mephiles even has any fans at all is because of him being molded after a hedgehog (especially one as popular as Shadow). Had he been some other species, people would probably had forgotten all about him. I really can’t even begin to imagine why there is people that think he’d make a better villain than the great, the only Dr. Eggman.

Also lol at how accurate the term “Amy’s kriptonite” is for describing Cream, because curiously enough, the games where Amy has been flanderized the worse were titles in which Cream not only showed up, but also played the role of the moral compass, leaving Amy only with her less endearig traits to display because of the absurd belief that younger characters make for better moral characters. which is silly because Cream is only six, while Amy is old enough to have a much better understanding of o people . 

Where a character like Chris Thonrdyke got a lot of rightful flak for not only stealing Tails’ role as Sonic’s closest friend, but also shamelessly hijacked a memorable moment that Amy played in the games (convincing Shadow to not kill everyone and give humanity a chance), it’s funny how Cream gets a free pass for doing essentially the very same thing to Amy (or worse: it’s actually accepted). To put it into a context everyone would understand, imagine how it would be like if Tails suddenly started to act and do the same things as Sonic. The franchise does not need two characters that are the same because they would overlap each other and we end up with two underdeveloped characters. There is a very good reason why the Millenium Falcon does not have nor need two Han Solos. XD

I know people will try to come back at me saying that compassion is not exclusive to Amy, which is silly because I have never said it was. However, Amy is the only character of the cast whose strong sense of empathy for others allows her to not only understand those in trouble and help them, but also reach out to the villains/antagonists and make them realize their own good. What I like of Amy is that she works around an actual context, while Cream simply relies on her cute appearance and pretty much nothing else, which is why I say that she’s a watered down “Amy 2.0″, and this holds true because of how the moments where Cream shines feel so similar to things Amy did before... but feeling forced. An example of this would be if both Amy and Cream helped and abandoned Metal Sonic like in the 6th episode of Sonic Mania Adventures: Cream would help the robot because of the way she was rised by her mother to be a perfect little well behaved princess. Amy on the other hand, has some context behind her actions because she isn’t helping some stranger... Metal is the one character that kidnapped her a long time ago. For Amy to help someone so underserving would mean that her empathy moves her beyond what others are willing just to do the right thing despite what Metal did to her: An act of upmost kindness. This is what makes Amy a hero who is unique and different from the others, and to take this away just to make room for a redundant character that does not even live up to the original, is nothing but a grotesque disservice.

Boom vs Canon: What's the Deal with Boom!Shadow?

Okay, so, let's talk about how Boom!Shadow is a vastly different character from all other versions of Shadow, or as I like to call him, Canon!Shadow.

Canon!Shadow has a grim past that he actively struggles to move on from, often faced with obstacles that challenge his insecurity of not having been strong enough to save one innocent girl despite being The Ultimate Lifeform, whether they be of pride (his rivalry with Sonic), or wrath (Mephiles trying to tempt him into attacking humanity for being unfairly villainized). Development on his character's path for self-identity is often stunted or flatout forgotten as time goes on, because this IS a character made by Sonic Team after all, where everything's made up and the writing doesn't matter.

Meanwhile, over at America's Sonic Team, Boom!Shadow is brought to western television via a cameo on Sonic Boom. His character is introduced to us as "the second most popular character of the entire canon". What's important to keep in mind is, Sonic Boom is notoriously 4th Wall-less, always cracking jokes about the show's writing or the Sonic Franchise or the Sonic fandom within their own little world. With Shadow being one of the most deeply story-heavy Sonic characters, it wouldn't have made any sense to bring him into the show without some plot-contrived nonsense, which is not at all in the style of Sonic Boom, a slapstick comedy where lessons are never learned and character development is in and of itself a joke in the show.

Thus, Boom!Shadow is created. He has no grim past, he is the embodiment of Shadow's image: the edgy cool guy and rival to Sonic. He has all of Canon!Shadow's abilities, he is aware of his status in the Sonic Franchise, and he knows his character has a tragic backstory. This enigmatic interpretation of Shadow is the epitomy of what makes up his character, and also what makes him vastly different.

Without the backstory and character development of Canon!Shadow, he is left with an overinflated ego that he has to constantly keep in check for suspected condescension. He is prone to violent outbursts if he hears anyone say something remotely offensive about him, regardless if the accusations are true or not. And if they aren't, he'll attack the accuser for lying to him.

I would call this behavior psychopathic, but I see it more as "I have never had friends before so I try to make up for it with being better than everyone else so that they wish they were my friends SO THAT I CAN TURN THEM ALL DOWN AND BECOME SUPERIOR TO THEM ALL MUWAHAHA THAT WILL TEACH THEM ALL FOR NOT BEING MY FRIENDS IN THE PAST!"

Sooo tldr; Boom!Shadow's his own unique character compared to Canon!Shadow, which means he's a big lonely crybaby who would rather feel superior than sink to YOUR level because one time he WAS at your level and it SUCKED and he's NEVER GOING BACK.

Here’s a thought. Where was Metal Sonic during 06? Was he still around at all in Silver’s era? We see Omega, who apparently was able to survive in functional state... SOMEHOW... for over 200 years while fire and brimstone rained down.

So was Metal still functional and kicking somewhere? Was he just in stasis like Omega? He kinda would have HAD to of been I guess, cuz how else would he have been keeping his battery charged. Unless he was keeping it charged with one of the Chaos Emeralds in the future that never got accounted for?

Huh. That could potentially be interesting to explore

Edit 1/ As the world fell into ruin, society regressed and technology died out, the concept and knowledge of what a “robot” was died out as well. Metal is seen as this strange immortal creature who has existed from the Time Before and is the only person who remembers the world before Iblis destroyed it

Metal has a pet peeve at the common belief that Iblis was born when the moon shattered. But no matter how many times he tries to tell the “legends of old”, people cling to their modern fairy tales

Metal has now truly gained his own unique identity as Sonic has long been forgotten to history. He’s no longer Metal Sonic, he’s just. Metal.

People don’t know what to make of him, and respond to him with everything from reverence to fear. Metal keeps to himself because of this. He knows damn well what happened to Shadow. People sometimes seek him out for one reason or another

The computer Mephiles shows to Silver belongs to and was kept up by Metal. It’s one of the extremely rare pieces of technology that still works. In fact, most of the technology that still works belongs to Metal. It’s viewed as witchcraft and adds to the “mysticism” that surrounds him

Edit 2/ Metal is still a nanite collective capable of copying life data. Whenever he ventures from his home he wears the guise of another person so not to be recognized.

Most books no longer exist in a readable form and reading itself is seen as a useless hobby. The world has fallen back to oral tradition and Metal tries to keep history from the Time Before alive via retelling. These are seen as old legends and their validity is disputed. This naturally irritates Metal

Because Metal rarely makes appearances in his true form outside of his home he’s become something of a legend himself. Part of these legends include the ability to steal the face and abilities of people who seek him out.

The main reason Metal keeps a working computer in his home, other than the preservation of history, is that he’s compiling a database of life data. He’s noticed for decades now that the population is dwindling rapidly and has chosen to steal and preserve life data in the event organic life becomes extinct altogether.

Speaking of which, he’s noticed for a few years now there only seems to be this white hedgehog around. He can’t tell if there might be another with him or not, as he’s seen this hedgehog communicating to someone but hasn’t seen this person for himself to know if they actually exist. He fears this hedgehog might be the last surviving organic other than Shadow

He has in fact met Silver and has taken and cataloged his life data. Silver didn’t recognize him as the legendary immortal because Metal was in the guise of an organic hedgehog at the time

Once in a great while he’ll invite someone into his home to stay for awhile if they manage to impress him or strike the right chord. He’ll use various excuses for this, like offering to teach and/or train them, but the reality is that it’s often out of a sense of loneliness - though he’ll never admit this. Lately he’s been considering inviting that white hedgehog. His optimistic attitude was refreshing.

Metal is actually the reason Omega managed to survive into the Crisis City era. Despite being enemies, Metal chose to keep up Omega’s maintenance, doing tings like keeping him oiled and his battery charged in the event he ever came back online. He’s not sure why he’d chosen to do this beyond a sense of camaraderie over them being the last two functional robots and technically being “brothers” due to having the same creator.

Edit 3/  He refuses to free Shadow from his prison. Not out of any ill will, but rather the fact that Shadow’s at peace where he is and doesn’t need to be subjected to what the world has turned into

Obviously he’s chilled out a LOT by this time period. With both Eggman and Sonic gone he went through a huuuuge existential crisis searching for a new purpose for himself. He found that purpose in trying to preserve what he could of the old world.

Infinite's An Asshole

Just saying I’ve been thinking about this for some time and even mentioned in my last post about Chaos in Sonic Forces. Including when searching up Tumblr infinite sonic forces I’ve decided and even thought more when liking some stuff of finally making this.

Including I thought of making more where it’s other characters from other forms of media.

I know with the lyrics in Infinite’s theme seems like he has a tragic back story. Which seems very nice I like that. Yet what your about to read is very harsh yet funny. The characters even make some 4th wall mentions because they don’t give a shit. Including just I keep thinking Infinite is just the biggest asshole…also it may have some of my own thoughts in it.

Please be aware of not just spoilers but very…brutal and kind of dark things said in this that might bother you. Yet supposed to be done in a funny way.

Infinite to Shadow.

Infinite: Your whole existence is the reason why everyone on the Ark died. You are basically the reason why Maria died. Basically you killed your own family by existing.

Shadow: *looking disgusted and pissed off* how dare you.

Infinite to Sonic.

Infinite: Your up beat positivity and outlook on life sickens me. One of these days your gonna break down and realize how much of a failure you are. Your the reason why I exist and why the world’s gone to shit being taken over by Eggman and me. It’s all your fault.

Sonic:…the game hasn’t released yet and I don’t know if I know you in anyway. Also the breaking down thing I’m feeling depressed at times I’ll think about it…or wait till I see what the game has to offer.

Infinite to Chaos.

Infinite: All Chao’s deserve to die. Your a piss ass guardian and Chao’s are weak and deserved to be slaughtered to out right extinction.

*Chaos now instead of one middle finger and now puts up his arms, forms huge hands and puts up both middle fingers with his eyes looking like he’s pissed*

Infinite to Metal Sonic.

Infinite: You a weak copy of the real Sonic. You will never beat him and never be the real Sonic. Your life is filled with misery, your father hates you because you fail to do the one thing you were born to do. I’m surprised you haven’t decided to end your life yet. You will always the worst thing Eggman has ever built.

Metal Sonic: Must…kill…now. *puts up both middle fingers and his red eyes flash*

Infinite to Zavok.

Infinite: Nobody will give a shit about your achievements in Sonic Lost World. You will always be forgotten and never considered one of the greats. Even people didn’t know who you were in the E3 trailer. Shows how much of an impact you left because you hardly left an impact.

Zavok: *sigh* it’s true. *He looks down to the ground just being all depressed as fuck*

Infinite to Dr. Eggman.

Infinite: I find it embarrassing of working for you despite the game isn’t out yet. I don’t care how threatening you are and what achievements you’ve done in your life. Your a weak villain who can never beat Sonic until now and you had my help. I’m surprised you haven’t committed suicide yet. In fact Ken Penders is more of a villain then you and we all hate him.

Dr. Eggman: Orbot hold my beer. *Left hand gives beer to Orbot* Exuse me while I get the Egg Dragoon and kill this sorry exuse of a villain WHO SAID KEN PENDERS WAS MORE OF A VILLAIN THEN ME!

Infinite to Silver.

Infinite: I honestly feel sorry for you. Your birth is so tainted in a game were sick of joking about. Yet our memory still stays strong remembering your horrible exuse of a debut. Unless Sega and Sonic Team reinvents you in canon. You’ll forever be taunted and your potential will never be reached and remain as a joke forever.

Silver: I’m sorry ARE YOU TRYING TO MAKE ME CRY! *Has tears being formed in his eyes*

Infinite: I don’t care what people say. You were never the greatest Sonic villain. Your such a dumbass that you would of killed Elise at any chance. I don’t care if you wanted to be an asshole just for the sake of it. The way you are written. Also even when Elise dies old everyone’s gonna die anyway. Your plan is so flawed…you just fucking suck and the game you debuted in sucks.

Infinite to Classic Sonic.

Infinite: I don’t care if your pandering. You have no exuse to me here with your pandering ass even if I talked about that. Your a God damn punk ass who was inspired by Mickey Mouse and Felix The Cat and might never speak in this game maybe.

Infinite: YOU FUCKING SUCK YOU DON’T DESERVE TO BE IN THIS GAME! WHY THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING HERE! THEY SHOULD OF LET ME BE THE THIRD PLAYABLE CHARACTER! Went to tags by mistake on that last part when choosing the word Infinite. To be honest the Classic Sonic part I don’t mind as long as they well the dimensions thing is an explanation.

Yet the custom character. I actually said in my head looked when making the you don’t deserve to be in this game I thought in my head or some shit the design looks cool. Seriously my head saying random shit okay it does don’t lie to self.

I’ve even made a post saying when I play the game I will make my own opinion about if I like the custom character or not. Saying I will not do anything special by just making the custom character look like what he’s been looking like. Because I rather not give a shit. Just don’t like to myself I could hate it or not.

We just have to wait and see. I wanted to make these pretty maybe not as harsh ha normal to smile yet well the funny parts are of how characters react Infinite’s insulting basically roasting them.

Well got tags down and forgot to mention Sonic Mania fuck it that looks good as fuck just as Sonic Forces and some new messages 4 by the same person scared me when getting the tags down.
