Hey open question: is putting the image descriptions in plain text like this a good thing? I started doing this because when someone asked me for an image description I didn't really know what that meant, and in the tutorial I found by googling it, it said it was better not to use alt text. But it seems like most people actually do use the alt text for this? Is there a consensus on what's better?

15. The Icewing is a friend with whom I was playing the third Legend of Spyro game at the time. In that game, Spyro and Cynder are stuck together by a cursed snake necklace thing. I'm not sure I did a very good job drawing him but he seemed ok with it. One of my other friends told me "It looks like you are about to get thagomised", which was NOT my intention. Oh well. That game is not good at all btw, I can't really recommend it to anyone. It's too bad it's a terrible game, because I do like it. Just like, for the concept I guess, and the thought of what it could have been. But the execution is a total disaster.

16. This was supposed to be "getting pushed somewhere unwillingly", but I think it ended up being more "sitting right on the edge of a cliff".

Legend of Spyro Scion of Darkness: The Hermit

It's been ages! Been busy with IRL stuff and art production has been slow. Thankfully I was commissioned by the amazing Convexity Studios youtube channel to do art for their new Legend of Spyro audio series: Scion of Darkness. I did all the art for their second chapter which can be viewed below! Thanks again guys! Scion of Darkness: Chapter 2  In this image we follow up on Spyro and Cynder who have been found the Hermit from Avalar Valley, they're having a discussion and he's still being weird. Was fun to draw a cheetah, even if it is just his mouth lol.

Ok so the saga with my old PC continues and is only fueling my desire to get back into fanfiction lol because I found all of the files from my attempt at making a legend of spyro fan-game! I honestly thought they were lost, I'm so excited to see all this stuff again! This was the "logo" for the game (I know its nearly unreadable lol, so it says "The Legend of Cynder, Shadows of The Past". 14/15 year old me didn't seem to care much for readability, I think I'd just discovered photoshop's layer effects lol)

Here's a bunch of random stuff I found.

I'm defiantly going to do a redraw of that last one at some point. That was like, THE thing I remember being super proud of when I first did it. I think it was going to be part of the trailer my now-partner was putting together for the game lol.

Actually, a lot of these were actually just frames from animations, but either the files are either just corrupted, or high school me didn't know how to set fps and resolution properly in the output so I got a headache trying to watch them lol. It's probably the second one honestly. Also I remember my old laptop wasn't able to play back the animation because it would lag so much, so I just had to kind of...guess at timing, and that went about as well as you'd expect. It didn't help that blender used to have this bug where your audio would move around your timeline so it really was just random guessing. I'm amazed anything got done at all, let alone how far we actually got (that is to say, not far at all but we had something playable at least).

I also found the demo files and footage of the "game" running (running at 12fps but running)! I'm curious if they still work, I'll have to download an older version of blender to test them out!

There's actually a lot more but actually finding it is proving to be quite a challenge since this laptop seems to be the digital equivalent of an ADHD "doom box" - meaning nothing is sorted into folders that make even a remote lick of sense to me, it's all just kind of thrown in together lmao.

I wanted to post these though because even though I don't really do 3D stuff anymore, It still made me really happy to see how much progress I've made over the years and how far I've come. Also a few folks who worked on this project with me back on Deviantart have started finding me lol, so in case there's anyone else out there, hello! I'm not dead, I'm still around, I'm just a lot more (openly) queer now lmao.

(...this is probably a good time to mention that while I have played every Skylanders game and watched every episode of Academy... I've never even seen a Spyro game. Really should get into that.)

Season 2 Episode 3 - Return to Cynder

-Secondhand embarrassment is the bane of my existence, but once you get past all that in the beginning of the episode, I really do like it.

-Surprisingly, Blob Gnarly, a villain Cynder makes up fighting in this episode, does exist! Just not in the Skylanders series. It's from Svengoolie, and that's the extent of my information. I could learn more about Blob Gnarly or Svengoolie, but I can't muster up a morsel of interest. Sorry!

-Cynder is such a delight! Too bad she's only introduced in the second season and not present for the third. They really knee-capped her.

-At first I thought Golden Queen's lame missions were just from lack of trust in Kaos, whether in his skills or his loyalty, but I do think its interesting that even she feels insecure at times.

-I'm sure there's some deep symbolism of the first person Cynder truly connects with after escaping Malefor and the one helping her grow accustomed to her powers is also immune to them. But, uh, English class was never my strong suit (hope that surprises you, since I'm literally writing reviews for fun), so I can't really say.

-Is... Is the show making fun of its own fanbase right now, with the Greebles not wanting to take the toy out of the packaging for the resale value? Because a part of me does agree, a plastic covering shouldn't make that much of a difference in price. But I do appreciate people who do sell things online, (even if that was their original plan) since without one of them, I never would have gotten Jet Vac! Yes, I got him because of this show, let's not act like we're surprised.

-If Spyro had just phrased it as they are choosing to be evil, rather than the implication that they were born evil, he could've saved Cynder a mental crisis. He'd still be wrong, though, because Who's Your Daddy does show that Greebles are indeed born evil.

-Is there some parallel in this episode about Golden Queen being unsure about her skills, and Cynder being afraid of hers? ...No, probably not.

-This episode has the idea of Kaos trying to usurp the Golden Queen's command over the Doom Raiders, but this never really comes to pass. Honestly, I don't particularly mind this getting dropped, especially since I strongly doubt the Doom Raiders would ever choose Kaos over Golden Queen.

-While Cynder in the games was actually kidnapped as an egg, I don't think that's the case here. They may not look alike, but I think Malefor is too overprotective for her to be anything other than his actual child. Plus, Eon does comment that 'her type scales looked familiar'.

-Given that Hex was turned undead through a fight with Malefor... I'm surprised she doesn't have anything to say about this whole incident. Well, I'm not, because Academy have a different continuity than the games, but it still could've been interesting.

-Actually, why does the show constantly refer to the dragons as Spyro's ancestors? It's not incorrect, but it would be more accurate to say his parents, right?

-Malefor claims to have helped wipe out the dragons... Eon does say that he's lying to get under Spyro's skin, which could be the case, but I can't see why he'd bother, when he's about to kill him.

-It's never addressed how Spyro was left in the forest. My personal belief is that the thing that wiped out the dragons occurred while he was still in the egg, so it passed right over him.

Idea for Skylanders Fighting Game

One game series I remember playing a lot of as a kid was Skylanders and I really enjoyed the Netflix series as well, and I was thinking to myself, what a roster for a Skylanders fighting game would look like, so here I am to be doing a base roster of 24 as that seems to be the average nowadays with for the most part, two or three characters per element with 3 seasons of dlc with 6 characters each.

Original Universe

Crash Bandicoot:

The relationship between Crash and Tawna is an extremely cute couple since Crash saved Tawna from Dr. Neo Cortex. However, years later, Tawna was gone for unknown reasons, perhaps hanging out with her friends for years. Someday, he'll see his girlfriend again, but he has to save the world from Dr. Neo Cortex. In Crash Tag Team Racing, this is where he met a possum girl named Pasadena. Even though she basically has a crush on him and does weird, flirty things with him, we figure out that girls like Crash because of his handsome good looks. However, Crash is 100% not interested in her romantically. He only likes her as a friend because his real love is Tawna. I really don’t know how Pasadena feels about that, but I just hope she moves on from it.

Spyro The Dragon:

The relationship between Spyro and Elora would have been extremely cute, as they teamed up to defeat Ripto. At the end of the game, Elora thanked Spyro with a kiss on the head. Despite their strong bond, Spyro missed his chance with Elora. They always found a way back to each other, remaining the main love interests in the series until Elora disappeared. Later, Spyro encountered a female dragon named Ember, who developed a crush on him. She mentioned engagement rings and thought Spyro reciprocated her feelings, but he only saw her as a friend. It seems Ember really needs to move on for Spyro.

Alternative Universe

Crash Bandicoot:

The relationship between Titan Crash and Yaya is unknown but cute, in Nitro Kart 2-3D, it seems like Yaya asked Crash for help because Nitros Oxide wanted to take over her home. Crash accepted the mission, and after saving her home, Yaya thanked him (hoping for a reward like a kiss). Despite this, it's puzzling why Yaya didn't appear in Crash of the Titans and Mind Over Mutant. We may never learn more about her, but I understand the desire to ship this relationship if they remake the game for Yaya Appears.

Spyro the Dragon:

The relationship between Spyro and Cynder is strong; they share a good connection. Spyro first encountered her when she was under the influence of Malefor's poisonous powers. After defeating her, she was freed, and Spyro took on the role of caring for his friend Cynder whenever she was in trouble. Years later, the two dragons teamed up to save the world from Malefor. It seems they have a deep bond, with Cynder expressing her love for Spyro. However, the ultimate conclusion of their story remains unknown.

Even though the game's Director stated that Spyro and Cynder are friends rather than a couple, fans are still shipping them. (It raises the question of why similar fan enthusiasm isn't extended to Titan Crash and Yaya.)

In the Skylanders series, the relationship between Spyro and Crash with the girls is unknown. In this version, Spyro and Cynder are best friends, and I'm glad that Crash can talk and is portrayed as very smart. Additionally, Crash and Tawna are good friends without being portrayed as a couple. Overall, it's important to remember that this is a kids' game and show.

Spyro!

Ah! The classic! the original! The skylander that started it all!

Spyro is a magic core from Spyro’s Adventure. His primary attack is to blast things with fireballs, while his secondary is to lower his horns and charge. His tertiary ability is flight. His upgrade paths enhance his fireballs (top) and charge (bottom). Both of his abilities shine if you go down the upgrade path for them, and are a little mediocre un-upgraded. Like many dragons, he's a versatile charger, so you're going to be using all of his abilities regardless of which upgrade path you go down. I would recommend getting a series 2 or more recent, or dithering over which upgrade path to take him down. I'd suggest taking the upgrade path for whichever ability you use more. Spyro is the classic skylander, classic dragon, a staple of the series. I think he's really cool. Overall: 8/10, you've got to love the classics. 

If you like Spyro, and want to play similar skylanders, he plays similarly to the flying dragons, like Cynder and Whirlwind (both of Spyro's Adventure). 

If you like to play co-op, Spyro plays well with shortrangers, or characters that need to charge their attacks, and, like most dragons, he plays well with most other dragons.

As a portal master I've learned time is easily manipulated. Note of importance: in superchargers and imaginators the dlc level items only give gold and in trap team only its own give levels to expand and also aren't magic items and in swap force the only levels that work for it are its own too as giants let ssa (Skylanders spyros adventure) levels to play in giants. Also traps give gold in superchargers and let you use a different element weapon in the vehicles and seem not to do anything or give gold in imaginators. (I don't remember but intend to test this last bit)

I did all the art for their second chapter which can be viewed below! Thanks again guys! Scion of Darkness: Chapter 2 A simple shot of Spyro and Cynder flying above the oceans and some islands. I really wanted to emphasize how high up they were and to also make the scene look ominous. I always like adding little details to my works, see if you can find anything that might stick out. A detail that perhaps connects it to another pic from this series I did.
