Yeah the fact that the other side made fake screenshots to try and get other users banned makes every piece of “evidence” from that group look incredibly suspicious if not outright untrustworthy. If they are willing to fake some screenshots what’s to say they didn’t fake more? They really shot themselves in the foot. Had they just not done that things would be a lot different.
For some additional context before seranova started both sides of this whole debacle were in sustrai. I cannot prove any of this, as most of these conversations happened over voice chat or have been lost to the sands of time and deletion of group chats, so take this all with a grain of salt.
Bunnis friend group (the one who owned sustrai and created the group that the screenshots came from I don’t remember the name something with a D) and guris friend group did NOT like each other. There was lots of passive aggression on both fronts and it was painfully obvious.
Both sides were frequently submitting reports and concerns about the other side and both sides were trying incredibly hard to get the other banned. This conflict goes so much deeper than just the docs that Guri wrote and kinda became a personal shit slinging contest between the two sides. Which honestly, given the history of these two it doesn’t surprise me in the least that they tried faking screenshots to try and ensure the parties they were targeting got banned. Shit had been brewing for well over a year. It was only a matter of time.
And what really truly gets me at the end of the day is if bunnis group had just reported the docs as they were. If they didn’t try to fake evidence. If they didn’t excessively shit talk people to the point of making some of their own feel guilty enough to document what was going on, they probably would have won and we probably wouldn’t be here on this tumblr right now.
Moral of the story? Uhh. Fuck I ain’t got one.

I'm sick right now and rly wishing I was back in the mid-2010 witchy youtube space...
Like I know so much of that era relied on aesthetics over practice but all of my favs from that time are mostly inactive now (Harmony Nice, AzuraDragonFaether, Anais Alexandre, the list goes on).
Does anyone have any recs for channels that fit this vibe now? I watch Luna Seranova and The Witch of Wonderlust pretty often but I still miss the old vibes. Maybe I'm just missing middle school lol

Seranova Tract
November 19, 2021 through November 21, 2021
Not a whole lot to report from this trip. I didn’t take great notes or photos and of course I’m writing about it several months later, so my memory is a bit off. The major significance of this trip was trying out the new tent. I don’t think I retired any old gear or had anything new beyond the tent. This trip was a good example of leaving Friday after work, prepping very little, and having a very relaxing time in the woods for a couple of days regardless.
Since the temperatures this time of year are mild, we stayed at yet another free site through the SWFWMD (Southwest Florida Water Management District). This time, we tried a completely new location: Seranova Tract. We hadn’t stayed here before so we really didn’t have any clue what to expect. We just packed the car and gave it a go. We didn’t arrive on site until 9:30pm on Friday night. We both had to work during the day, so we didn’t hit the road until after 5pm.
Despite a late arrival, we got our tents set up and a fire started within an hour, which I’m pretty sure is a record for us. Jenna was setting up the same hiking tent that she has been using for a few trips. I just purchased a hiking tent of my own just the week prior. My job had a Halloween costume contest and I won an Academy Sports gift card. The tent is small; just large enough for me to lay down, but it packs so small and I can fit a tarp in the bag with it. Coupled with the new tent was the new gear from last trip: the sleeping bag and the sleeping pad and I found myself with the perfect sleep system.
Jenna and I stayed up until just past midnight. We made tea, had a few snacks (meat sticks, dried fruit - we didn’t pack any coolers this time). We played cards for a bit as we always do. Once it was time for bed, I decided to leave my hiking backpack hung up on a tree nearby so that I wouldn’t attract bugs or animals toward where I was sleeping (had food in the hiking kit). Overnight, I stayed clothed. It wasn’t unbearably cold, but it was chillier than it had been for previous trips and though the sleeping bag provided some insulation, it wasn’t perfect, so i kept my layers on.
I slept hard like always on the first night and woke up around 730 the next morning; before Jenna. I used the single burner stove to boil water for coffee and grits and cleaned up a trash bag that a raccoon ransacked overnight. Once Jenna emerged from her tent, she got the fire started for us. We hung out by the fire for a long while just discussing our packing strategies. Eventually, it began to warm up and we began to start peeling off the night’s layers. These late fall trips are slow moving while we let our old bones adjust to the temperatures.
Once warm, I decided to take down my tent and sleep system for the day (as we would on a backpacking trip) and see how difficult it would be to repack my pack and do it all again. Of course, while I was doing this, it began to rain a little so I used my liftgate and trunk as a work space. Unpacking and repacking my hiking backpack is one of my favorite things to do. I have yet to find consistency, so every time I do it, it's different than the last time. I am still playing around with what gear to bring, what to leave behind, and in what order to pack it all. Though a tedious task, it can be done at camp or at home, so it has become a favorite pastime of mine.
This time, I placed my tent down inside my pack instead of on the bottom or top of the back. My sleeping bag was attached to the bottom of the pack with rope. So it acted as a storage location for the rope too. This proved to be a bad idea because the rope didn’t stay tied correctly during transport home, and my sleeping bag detached from the pack. I’ll be playing around with how this is packed for many many trips to come. But It’s fun to look back and see how things have evolved.
The hiking backpack that I was using for this trip was still that camo hand-me-down from Jenna. It was probably older than me. The inside lining was peeling and getting all over my stuff, and a bunch of the zippers didn’t even work anymore. During this trip, I broke a very important zipper; rendering the entire pack useless. Luckily, Jenna was about to upgrade her own pack, so I would simply take yet another hand-me-down from her for the next trip. For the remainder of this trip, I would just continue to use the broken one.
Once the pack was repacked and secured to the best of my ability, I set my tent back up. This time, I moved to the other side of the campsite so that I could get the corners staked into the ground better. I positioned myself between the tree that held my pack and Jenna’s tent.
I also hung a clothes line behind my tent. We did this during the last trip too, but I think it should become a regular part of our site set up. It's very handy for so many different reasons:
Clothes line - obvious - drying out wet clothes
Can drape a tarp/sheet for added privacy on site
Works as a net for yard games - great for when we have kids with us
Base for an A frame tarp for rain coverage.
Jenna and I really wanted to get a hike in on this trip. She had purchased a compact day pack that she wanted to try out and I was just getting a little bored of camping trips where we just sit at camp the entire time. So we mapped out a great little hike to a nearby lake and waited out the rain.
While we waited, we decided to make an A-frame canopy over our picnic table so that we could have a covered area to hangout. We tied one end of the paracord to a tree, the other end to another tree, and moved the picnic table in between the two trees. Next, we draped the tarp over the paracord and started anchoring the sides down by pulling the paracord from opposite corners until it was taught and then staked the paracord into the ground. It turned out pretty good considering this was our first time doing it.
The A frame was up, the skies were still gloomy, and we made some tea to calm our restlessness. By the time we were done with our tea, the sky seemed clear enough to head out. So we did. We walked a total of a mile and half (not too long) and it took us about 30 minutes (a lifetime). We had to climb over some downed limbs, around some puddled mud, and under some low hanging trees. At one point, the path was so washed out from the rain, we decided to take a shortcut through the loosely packed forest. We got a little lost, but it wasn’t bad. I definitely need to improve some backcountry hiking skills like navigation, but as far as baby hikes go, this one was good.
We arrived back at the site and the rain seemed to be done, so we made some rice for dinner and sat up drinking by the fire for a bit. We played our fair share of cards (gin probably) and then got sleepy and ready for bed early like we always do on night 2. Jenna got a wild hair and decided to sleep in her hammock. Which is braver than I would have been. She figured that since it wasn’t unbearably hot or buggy, why not? Needless to day, when I awoke the next day to find her still in the hammock, I was impressed.
The next morning we got up early, made a light breakfast, some coffee, and made our departure. We drove around the campground a little bit first to scope out what we missed coming in at dark on Friday. This campground, nearly 4 hours away, was really nice. For a free site, it was well worth the drive down. I can’t wait to stay here again and explore this part of the state so much more.
Stay Dirty,
Stone

‘Turncoat’ antibodies are major culprits in severe COVID-19
Rogue antibodies are major culprits in severe cases of COVID-19, researchers report.
These autoantibodies target and react with a person’s tissues or organs similar to ones that cause autoimmune diseases such as lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. In COVID-19 cases they can attack healthy tissue in brain, blood vessels, platelets, liver, and the gastrointestinal tract, researchers report. The more autoantibodies detected, the greater the disease severity patients experience.
And the autoantibodies paradoxically also target and interfere with many immune system proteins that are designed to fend off infections, according to a new study.
The development of antibodies in response to the COVID-19 virus has been the great long-term hope for ending the pandemic, but it might not be so simple.
“It’s a two-edge sword,” says Aaron Ring, assistant professor of immunobiology at Yale University and senior author of the paper. “Antibodies are crucial to fend off infection, but some COVID-19 patients also develop antibodies that damage their own cells and tissues.”
It is clear that in many cases the presence of coronavirus drove the creation of the damaging autoantibodies, Ring says. But it is also likely that some COVID-19 patients had pre-existing autoantibodies that made them more susceptible to infection, he says. Mice with these same autoantibodies were more susceptible to infection by the COVID-19 virus and more likely to die, the authors report.
The existence of these long-lived rogue autoantibodies could also help explain why some people infected with COVID-19 can later develop lasting medical symptoms, so-called long COVID cases.
“This could be the unfortunate legacy of the virus,” Ring says.
“Our findings reinforce the importance of getting vaccinated,” adds co-corresponding author Akiko Iwasaki, a professor of immunobiology. “The fact that even mild infections are associated with autoantibody production underscores the potential for long-term health consequences of COVID-19.”
For the study, Ring’s lab worked with Iwasaki’s lab and members of the Yale IMPACT team—a group of scientists, scholars, and physicians developing research and clinical efforts to combat COVID-19—to screen blood samples from 194 patients who had contracted the virus, with varying degrees of severity, for the presence of autoantibodies.
Specifically, they used a novel technology developed by Ring’s lab called Rapid Extracellular Antigen Profiling (REAP) to identify autoantibody interactions with nearly 3,000 human proteins.
Ring says the findings may lead to strategies to treat or prevent the damaging effects of autoantibodies in COVID-19 patients.
In addition, the new REAP technology could be used to pinpoint important antibody responses for many other disease conditions beyond COVID-19. Ring’s lab has found a host of novel autoantibodies in patients with autoimmune disease and is now searching for autoantibodies in patients with cancer and neurological illnesses.
The research appears in the journal Nature.
Ring, co-first author Eric Wang, and graduate student Yile Dai are inventors of a patent describing the REAP technology used in the study and Ring is the founder of Seranova Bio, which seeks to market the technology.
The Mathers Family Foundation and the Ludwig Family Foundation funded the research.

Sierra Club Sues to Stop Pasco's Ridge Road Extension
The Sierra Club filed suit on February 6 to challenge the permit recently given by the US Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) to Pasco County for the Ridge Road Extension. The suit was brought under the National Environmental Policy Act and the Clean Water Act, pursuant to the Administrative Procedure Act. The suit is the next step in a twenty-year fight to protect the Serenova Preserve. The Sierra Club also filed an Emergency Motion for a Temporary Restraining Order and/or Preliminary Injunction in order to stay the Section 404 Permit that has recently allowed construction to begin. Sierra Club Attorney explains Reason for Lawsuit Heidi Mehaffey, Esq., the attorney representing the Sierra Club, stated: “The permit was approved in violation of a number of federal statutes and regulations, all extant to prevent this kind of environmental damage. ACOE failed to adequately look at direct, indirect, and cumulative impacts on the environment contrary to the National Environmental Policy Act and neglected to choose the Least Environmentally Damaging Practicable Alternative (LEDPA) under the Clean Water Act, while the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service relied on outdated surveys, 7 years outdated to be exact, for determining the impact on endangered and threatened species and wetland habitats when there was no effort to collect reliable and present-day data in complete contradiction to the spirit of these environmental laws. We also filed an emergency motion for an injunction to halt construction at the site, which began last week – we have eye-witness reports that they are removing gopher tortoises as we speak.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PtE9W5IIX-k A short tour of the Starkey Wilderness Preserve Serenova Tracty by Paul Herman. Sierra Club Dedicating significant Resources to stop Destruction of the Seranova Preserve Tim Martin, Sierra Club Florida Conservation Chair stated: “After the Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) permit decision was announced on the Friday before Christmas, Save Our Serenova Coalition activists worked day and night over the holiday season to fight the permit. We are dedicating significant resources to stopping the destruction of the Serenova Preserve. Contrary to what county officials are claiming, there will not be traffic through the Serenova in nine months. There should never be traffic inside a nature preserve."
Sierra Club Sues to Stop Ridge Road Extension through Pasco County Serenova Preserve
Conservation Biologist Reed F. Noss, Ph. D., whose review of the decisional documents lead to an expert report supporting the Sierra Club’s arguments that the project will be environmentally detrimental said: “I find the Corps’ decision to issue the permit indefensible. This project, if implemented, will cause severe impacts and irreparable harm to one of the most biologically significant natural areas in west-central Florida. It would likely preclude regional recovery, and perhaps cause regional extinction, of some species listed under the U.S. Endangered Species Act, as well as leading to the decline of other native species (many of them already rare) and compromising the ecological functions of the wetland and upland ecosystems of the Serenova Tract.” Martin added, “The Serenova case has likely already influenced national policy. In justifying their rationale for streamlining the Army Corps' permitting process, the Trump administration recently cited that some roads are taking over ten years to permit. Rep. Gus Bilirakis, wrote an open letter to Trump calling for him to intervene in the Serenova case, which may be the longest-running permitting application in history, thanks to the local activists who have worked diligently for twenty years to protect this precious land.” Read the full article

Season 2 World Overview
POST APOCALYPTIC
Astra is now a post apocalyptic world. After the Second Learning War most of the planet is either Obsidian Waste, or infested Ruins. Marauders run wild in huge clans, robbing, conquering and pillaging as they please. There are little Oases scattered about this huge wasteland, places where some innate magic protected the area. Some places are well known: the Ikaris Archipelago or the Jetzyan Ward for example. But there are many yet undiscovered. Dachta's Fire filled Astra with some sort of magical radiation, creating strange magical currents/events. This magic seems to have increased the number of Gods roaming Astra, while also making them more rabid. The Wastes and the Ruins are dangerous places. But one area of Astra was wholly untouched by the destruction: the Crescent.
THE CRESCENT
This thin strip of land is the only fertile/habitable land in Astra. To the North the nations of Kata Mor and the Free Kingdom reside. The Sorenova River divides the North from the southern nation: Exemplar Franz's Empire. The river is a point of great geopolitical tension, and is garrisoned by Northern soldiers.
THE FREE KINGDOM
Ruled by Lady Olivia, last of the Etarian line. She has drawn refugees from throughout Astra to her banner in the capital of Mira. She is beloved by her people and her allies. With natural leadership and sword fighting skills she took the fight to the marauders. Backed by the loyal Knights of Mira she has eviscerated countless marauder clans, and defeated hundreds of rabid Gods. It has cost much, but she has also secured a small outpost in the ruins of Learning Ward where scavengers seek lost knowledge. Her circle of advisors is legendary. The Scarred Cardinal is a feared and mythical man, who has rebuilt the Church of Joy to be a place of healing and safety in a hostile world. The mysterious KingsMage is a man much talked about. He trains with Kanave and deals in strange rituals. Ambassador Clarissa "Keiber" Constantine is well known for her silver tongue. It is said she once seduced a God with her cleverly crafted words. Rocky, captain of the Knights of Mira, has a supernatural sense for danger and assassins, making him the perfect general and bodyguard. Finally, there is the mysterious Doctor Thorn Renault. Renault is rarely seen but it is rumored that he is working deep underneath the palace, making formidable weapons to fight the Imperials. His Retrival unit (headed by Father Arcturus) finds powerful magic items throughout Astra, and brings them back to him. All believe war to be on the horizon. Olivia seeks advantages and Allies.
KATA MOR AND THE VALE
Still a fierce democracy, Kata Mor remains a staunch ally of the Free Kingdom. Queen Oliva frequently travels to the Speaking Hall where her speeches are met with roaring approval. Kata Mor Shieldbearers and Hunters join the Knights of Mira in garrisoning the Sorenova river against the Imperials. It is rumored that populist groups are gathering support to heavily sway public opinion there, but this is not confirmed. The Vale is a valley at the far Northern border of the Crescent. It is where the Leaded Hunters reign, and it is there that Lil Petra is shielded from the dangerous outside world. She has grown up in this place, protected by hundreds of Leaded and the Godless one herself. The half demon is a fearless warrior, known for her incredible strength, incredible toughness, and incredible illiteracy. The Leaded in the Vale have equal respect and fear for her.
THE EMPIRE
Exemplar Franz rules the South. He is the High Priest of the Purifiers, Emperor of Astra, and God King of the Crescent. Franz has hugely expanded territory in the decade since the war. His army, known as the Choir, prefers to take prisoners, turning whole enemy nations into more zealous undead legions. Despite being brutal in combat and strategically brilliant, Franz has been very friendly to the North. He trades freely with them, allows them to heavily garrison the Seranova (there are no Imperial troops on the opposite side of the river), and attends frequent banquets in Mira. His charming demeanor, handsome face, and friendly words almost distract from his lack of compassion or his powerful military. He continuously offers the North rich gifts of food and valuables, along with occasional military assistance. As the world outside of the Crescent becomes deadlier and deadlier, and food becomes more rare in the North, it is easy to look south and envy the fertile farms of the Empire. There is more and more talk of an alliance by marriage between Franz and Olivia. The proponents of this idea cite the increasing God/marauder attacks. A United Crescent army would be formidable, and the increased food could save lives. Detractors point out Franz's ruthless past and merciless tactics. There are many refugees who do not need any reminder.
