Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi! Operation Capture the Slit-Mouthed Woman
Tumblr media
Story & Art: Hanyunyuu Jun
Genre: Horror, Seinen
Synopsis:
A tape was submitted to a video production company. What was recorded was a woman in a trench coat. She had long hair, wore a mask over her mouth, and could run extremely fast. She looked exactly like the urban legend, "Kuchisake-Onna" (the Slit-Mouthed Woman). Director Kudo, Ichikawa, and Tashiro, part of the investigative team, set out to uncover the truth…' The manga will be bringing back the terrifying atmosphere of the Kowasugi! series, which first gained popularity in 2012 with its POV-style horror that captured a huge online following.
Yes, they made a manga based on that found footage series from Koji Shiraishi. Exciting! The title is going to be released on October 11 in Japan.

Currently watching Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi! and I'm having so much fun! The second episode is already making me laugh so much, though it's reminding me a bit of another one whose name I can never remember? There was a famous scene where the ghost of a woman appeared from the subway tracks? ...But was it really that one? There was another scene in an abandoned hospital...

🫵🏻 YOU will watch Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi! for free on youtube
elevator pitch: found footage ghost hunter series (directed by the guy who did Noroi: The Curse) that gets more and more lynchian and weird and conceptual with each installment. really fun and crazy and CREEPY horror-comedy. 10 movies, each one is <90min. we just finished part 7 and it blew my mind completely

Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi! | Dir. Kōji Shiraishi
Synopsis:
The Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi! series is a Japanese found-footage horror saga directed by Kōji Shiraishi, best known for his work on Noroi: The Curse. The series follows a film crew led by director Kudo, assistant Ichikawa, and cameraman Tashiro, who investigate supernatural occurrences rooted in Japanese folklore, including urban legends like the Slit-Mouthed Woman and Kokkuri-san. As the crew delves deeper into these eerie investigations, they encounter increasingly bizarre and terrifying phenomena.
This has been sitting in my watchlist forever. Sharing this for anyone who likes found footage-style horror.
