☾ - sleep headcanon

I already did one sleep headcanon for Byakuya (people are really into Sleepy Byakuya, I guess), but here’s another one (an oldy but goody):

Byakuya can sleep with his eyes open and habitually does during Captains’ Meetings. It’s almost impossible to tell the difference between this and his normal facial expression, so it’s very hard to catch him at it. Shinji, who stands across from him, is 98% sure he does this, but he actually respects this more than most other things about Byakuya.

♦ - quirks/hobbies headcanon 

Byakuya works hard to be good at all the things that noble people are supposed to be good at, whether he enjoys them or not. He derives a lot of satisfaction from being good at things, so it’s a little hard to tease apart what he actually likes doing and what he actually just likes being good at.

He does have one secret hobby, though-- he likes to sing. As the highest of nobility, it’s not his job to entertain people, it‘s his job to be entertained. He really likes music, though. Hisana liked to sing and play the shamisen, but she didn’t perform because of her health, and he would sometimes sing along with her when it was just the two of them. He has an amazing voice, but we all knew that.

Rukia has heard him sing, usually when he’s trying to tell her about something musically, and she is mystified and fascinated by it. (Rukia learned to play the shamisen at his request, but she does enjoy it, or at least she enjoys being able to do something that Byakuya cares about).

Does it go without saying that he will sing for Ichika? Because he will. They have a little Ambassador Seaweed song that they sing together. Ichika will not let Rukia or Renji sing the Ambassador Seaweed song, it is for Ichika and Uncle B only.
