how does one sell jewelry they don't wear anymore
#regan.txt#alternatively: would people want jewelry i don't wear anymore? i'd rather give them to ppl but not opposed to making fast cash#i have a few necklaces and earring pairs that just aren't my style anymore. mainly bc they're brass or silver and i wear gold these days#they're also really nice handmade pieces that i've gotten from independent artists so it feels a little weird to sell them off???#idk. help me downsize!!!!

okay okay okay okay okay so at the end of The Runaway Bride Donna is still wearing the bio-damp wedding ring, right? I think she keeps it. I think at first it's just a sort of sentimental trinket- a reminder to keep traveling and explore the world and seek out the weird around her. And, well, it's a little thing, so might as well keep it on a necklace, right?
Then it comes with her on her adventures with Ten. And really it becomes less of a totem and more utilitarian. Both because of the actual bio-damp ability and because in their heart of hearts both Donna and Ten have a grifter's spirit and they WILL pretend to be married if convenient and/or funny.
Then she loses her memories. She doesn't even remember most of her failed wedding but her ring for that looked quite different and she was perfectly fine to pawn it for some quick cash. But this one. This one doesn't make sense. She asked around, of course she did, but no one around her has claimed this thing. It's just a plain gold band that happens to fit her like it was custom made, but that's not that weird, for a ring. She should sell it. She should give it away. She doesn't even need it, she has a real wedding ring now, given to her by the love of her life. Yet every time she thinks about getting rid of it, she feels a sharp pain in her chest and a tightness to her lungs, so instead she shoves it to the back of her jewelry box and tries not to think about yet another little mystery from her missing year.
14 comes into her life. Her memories come back with him. She doesn't actually remember the ring until Rose is going through her jewelry for something to wear to dinner tonight and Donna spots the chain out of the corner of her eye. She doesn't point it out, but after Rose has left she sort of. Starts wearing the necklace again. Just for her, not for anyone else, she tends to hide it under layers. The Doctor ends up spotting it. Of course he does. He looks a little stricken, recognizing it instantly, but she sends a pleading look that stops him from talking.
Rose and Shaun both talk to her about what The Doctor is to her. It feels a bit like pulling teeth, trying to explain where he fits, because best friend feels inadequate and brother isn't even close to right and she feels equally intense about The Doctor as she does about Shaun but she doesn't feel the same about them, they're different kinds of love and it's okay. They let her know it's okay. That she can have multiple people that are the loves of her life and they can be different but no lesser kinds of love and. Well. She starts wearing two wedding rings on her finger.
#doctor who#donna noble#tennant doctor#shaun temple#IM HAVING. SO MANY FEELINGS#that really just summarizes to 'gee donna why do you get a romantic AND platonic spouse'?

i went back to Binondo this morning for some errands and decided to check the jewelry stores for some window shopping.
well, i ended up buying an 18k necklace and a Mama Mary pendant.
as you all know di naman ako magastos na tao and i do not consume my daily allowance. so with some extra cash and my salary, I decided it was a go.
Gold is now selling at 3950 pesos per gram and the necklace was 10.5 grams while the pendant was around 3 grams. Parang I paid something around 54k.
okay na din to. gold is an investment and no money is lost. to think na tataas pa ang gold by the end of the year. had it been a pair of sneakers or gadgets baka nagka buyer's remorse ulet ako.
around 12 i joined Trixie and some friends for lunch. again, okay din diversion to kasi hindi naman puede umikot ang mundo ko sa isang tao lang. i also have friends.
yun lang when we were driving home, Trixie was laughing...
me: bakit ano meron?
Trixie: hindi nila tayo na charge sa mango bravo (shows receipt)
me? what?? bakit di ka nagsalita!!!!
Trixie: ngayon ko lang nakita kaya.
me: we are going back and we will pay for that cake! hello, wala ka bang takot ke Tita Carmi??
Trixie: eh sa di ko nga alam eh.
me: bruha ka, Trixie ang dami ko ng kasalanan na pinagbabayaran tapos dinagdagan mo pa! i am driving back!
so ang ending bumalik kami and paid for it. kamusta naman sa karma diba and besides sa staff kukunin yung loss na yun.
etong mga kaibigan ko eh, madalas gangster ang mga paguugali eh.

I am crushing it at Christmas gifts this year. I think. I never know for sure until people report back several months later but apparently my oldest nephew (the funny smart kid who’s also a complete dumbass, turning 16 this year) ended up really liking the skincare kit I got him last year even though on Christmas Day he was like “I don’t need this, my skin is perfect, people always tell me that” so if the day of goes a little rough just know they might realize they love it down the line. My goth weeb nibling, who is his younger sibling, will like what I got them because I shopped as if for my younger self and the only real difference between us is that I didn’t get into anime. I bought designer purses on a great sale for my sisters in law, nice shoes (he made a comment about it last spring, “some nice Italian leather loafers,” and he might have been joking but hey it’s an idea) for my one good brother in law, a rocking camping chair for my worst brother in law, and nothing for my ex brother in law because if he shows up at Christmas he’s getting something from the Box of Generic Gifts (mostly plaid throw blankets from Five Below). I bought my mother in law a real cashmere sweater (not like 400 dollar nice but still nicer than the “this is technically cashmere” I always see in the mall) and a rose gold and pearl necklace (pearl pricing is stupid and insane, but a solid gold chain is worth something if she ever needs to sell it for cash). The hubs is working on a genuinely nice idea for a present for his dad. I’m going to get my mom jewelry again and my dad can suck eggs. Probably get him a box set of Why Racism Is Bad Actually books or something. I like passive aggressive presents, like the year I sent him a DVD set of documentaries on pre-colonial African civilizations. Mom made a genuine lemon face about that one. Maybe Dad needs to hear more about how the Europeans deliberately separated Africa into countries where the borders would actively create strife. I got my MA a bottle of perfume because she noted out loud how good one patient smelled and it’s an easy to find fragrance (Victor & Rolf, Flowerbomb).
I love shopping, I love Christmas, I love getting people presents. I just wish my worst brother in law would stop trying to ruin family Christmases like it’s his job. It’s been 15 long, long years of knowing him, and in that time I have never ONCE slipped him a sedative, and I deserve a martini and a medal for that. I could 100% poison that man and get away with it and I WON’T because MORALS.

The factory in south Wales, which has been under construction since March 2022, is designed to extract gold from up to 4,000 tonnes a year of circuit boards sourced in the UK from electronics including phones, laptops and TVs.
The Royal Mint, which has produced coins for more than 1,100 years, has said the process could provide hundreds of kilograms of gold annually for its 886 jewellery range. This business, which launched in 2022, sells high-end rings, necklaces and earrings online and from its boutique in Burlington Arcade, in Mayfair, central London.
It is estimated that about 600 mobile phones will have to be processed to create one of the 7.5g gold rings sold in the 886 collection, which are similar to the weight of a £1 coin.
The factory in Llantrisant will use patented new chemistry – created by the Canadian clean technology firm Excir – to recover the gold. A washing machine-style spinning drum washes the pieces of circuitry containing gold in a special acid mix that dissolves the precious metal in four minutes. That compares with other gold extraction processes that are more energy intensive and tend to require extremely high temperatures over a longer period of time.
The new factory is part of the Mint’s ongoing efforts to diversify its business as cash use continues to decline. The business is 100% owned by the UK Treasury and pays a dividend to the government each year, with remaining profits reinvested in the business.

Okay hear me out, alright? Okay? You with me? You ready to pick up what I'm about to drop?
So Diavolo is like a Dragon, right? All demons in Obey Me seem to have like a motif animal right?
And Diavolo seems to be a Dragon as far as I can tell and even if it's not LETME HAVE THIS
So dragons are notorious for hoarding treasure and Diavolo has on one occasion said he would like to keep the Mc, us, all to himself and keep us locked away like if we were apart of his treasure hoarde right?
Well ya know how Mammon's fanon nickname for us, the Mc, is treasure?
What if someone else called Mammon Treasure instead???
Hmm??
What if, say, one day after the brothers had fallen and Mammon went and found Diavolo's treasure hoarde and started putting on like beautiful pearl necklaces and gold rings and other jewelry to take with him to sell for cash when he gets caught.
Mammon thinks "aw man I've screwed up he's gonna kill me!" He's terrified!
But Diavolo merely grabs Mammon by his upper arm and tugs him along to a secret room that holds the other crown, ya know, not the king's but whomsoever is his LOVER??????!!!
Right?!?!?!?!?
And he closes and locks the door, Mammon is ready to shit his pants, and Diavolo walks over, carefully picks up the crown and sets it atop Mammon's head, fitting him perfectly.
"If a treasure such as yourself wishes to bask in my hoarde, you must only agree to wear this crown with pride at my side."
Like?!?!??!!?
Anybody else just fucking!!!!!
Like???
Can't think properly outside of this right?? Like?!?!?!? Imma lose my shit over this!!!!
Just Mammon, the sweetest of short kings, sitting in Diavolo's lap, both wearing their crowns as Diavolo coos at the greatest treasure he will ever lay his hands on and Mammon would be eatin that UP
Like tell me all the sweet words of affirmation and Diavolo spending so much money on Mammon and dressing him up and showing him off would not be just so good for Mammon's self-esteem!!!!
I kinda wanna make a fic about it!
#obey me#obey me mammon#obey me shall we date#om! mammon#obey me mammon hcs#mammon obey me#lord diavolo#diavolo#obey me diavolo#diavolo obey me#om! diavolo#diavolo x mammon#mammoney#obey me otome

Swag a la Italy 🇮🇹
Hey
Mixer T, there
PK
I jump on Italian rap like a trampoline
Brother, I've been at it for a while, you scream
She gets wet when I rhyme
To do it better I found the algorithm
The flow weighs one kilo
Like the Migos necklaces
I'll smoke you in one hit
You're a Chilum in the park, I ride it with the widest filter
Then I enter precisely, bro, archery on the sample
When I hear you you're like the wind if I'm turning it around
No, I don't feel like a deaf man sleeping
Bro, I win gold, platinum and silver
With her in the hotel, bro, more stars than Hokuto
I go, straight cash like Coccoluto
Her pussy is Newton's apple
I smoke it whole bro in a minute (wooo!)
We are artists
We seem happy but then we're sad (hey)
We write records (ha!)
These rappers go home then diss us (wooo!)
I have the black box, you a package (ha ha!)
I'm a goal in the final with the heel
With you it's like boxing with the bag
When I hear your music it comes down to me
I don't care if it sounds good or if it sells
We are us and we don't change anything
We are us and we don't change anything
Emme!
I smoke from morning to night, bro
I'm having dinner with my girlfriend
Crazy panther kitten, bro
Guajira Guantanamera
I'm going up the stream
Brother, no, no, I don't have a dick, I have a propeller
His face white, hungry, anemic
Fievel landing in America
Sometimes, sometimes I inhale such a quantity that I pass out
I watch her ass go, they are so high that it seems like they are going up
You're on a pedal toilet
What a toilet, what a rate, with an ass that looks like a hexagon
Maybe it was better if you remained a bachelor
It's getting late, let's talk, I'm running bro!
I'll take a shot of ice cream, bro
Then I smile at you like a triceratops
Wanted flow machine gun, bro (hey)
Matrix change I'm regenerating it (hey, hey, hey, hey)
Die of envy, yes, you are triggered (seh)
Bad language, the beat is eviscerated
The feat is refined, the drink is mixed
What a fucking life, bro, I was a hermit! (em!)
At work, bro, I'm still a rapper
Even though I'm handsome, I'm an influencer
We are us and we don't change anything
We are us and we don't change anything
Ouch, ouch, tremble when you hear Lebon on the mic (Lebon on the mic)
Alright, 24/7, all night (all night)
When do you make wheat? Tomorrow (yep)
I'm Jimmy Iovine bro (yep)
Without the styles where do you go? Goodbye
God gave me the flow, he said 'go (go, go, go)
I do not know how
You don't know what
You know it well
That you are not what
You can make foam
You're a soda girl
A slap on the head when you're posing (pshh)
Music is a drug (hey)
And I always have the best one
Moment, moment, moment
I rock anyway and the microphone is off
I sing and you can't hear the accent
And you don't hear the jungle until I turn it on
Well done, take the bulldozers against the blacks and the Vatussi
I swear I can't do it like you do (yeah)
I should sell envelopes at Russian weddings
And be in the red like the Tunes (wooo!)
Life as an artist is sad, especially if you live in Italy
How to get a flat earther pregnant and raise her kids in Australia
It's like a prison, they condemned you
You want an hour of air, but conditioned
Out of the box forever @ombrabrontok 🇮🇹 @kattywompuss @bigbonzo @cumpletelyhappythesecond 🤪😜
We are us, we don't change anything (Ah!)

Spoiled (Neji x Reader)
Request:
Word Count: 0.7k
Tags/Warnings: @brokennerdalert Neji is RICH, Slice of Life, Fluff, No Pronouns for Reader
Notes: Short and sweet, based on the time I spent 2 months in Florence
It shone though during little moments like this.
Your hand settled in the crux of his elbow as you made your way down the stone streets. Tall, pastel buildings sat crammed together to provide shade for the bustling market on the cobblestone. A bakery displayed baskets of bread in front of the open-doored shop. Across the way sat an ice cream store with elaborately decorated display cones hanging in the window.
Neji said little as you navigated through the busy road. You remarked about the little things on display, not even having to look where you were going as Neji led you along by the sleeve of your robes. Neji filled your closet with light, flowy robes suited for hot, dry days like this. He had a good sense. The weather was perfect with your summer clothing and the breeze from the river.
You let go of Neji’s arm, rushing up the bridge’s stone steps. The bridge consisted of stairs and platforms where jewelers set up little shops to sell silver and gold. Neji trailed behind, watching with a hint of stoic sentiment as you excitedly admired the ornate necklaces in the shop windows. A single chain with a sapphire stone caught your eye.
The attendants were all too happy to usher you inside, falling over you as they showed you gemstone after gemstone. Neji stood patiently inside the door of the quaint jewelry boutique with arms crossed as you shopped. You turned to him with a pair of silver and pearl earrings held up to your ear. The light struck you in such a way, filtering through the elegant draping of your hair.
“These?” you asked, the shiny pearls glinting as they dangled from thick, glossy paper. “Or these?” The intricately crafted metal hung down from chain links to create a wave-like shape down to the base of your neck. Neji couldn’t say he saw a difference.
“Get them both,” he said with a slight nod. He made brief eye contact with one of the attendants, who swiftly approached the register. You didn’t notice, opting to roll your eyes with a pouty drawl of his name.
“Neji…” You frowned but didn’t stay disappointed long as you busied yourself comparing expensive metals and precious gemstones. You didn’t bother to look at the price or notice Neji handing over a large wad of cash to the attendant at the register.
He came over to stand next to you as you continued to look at the products under the glass cases, wrapping an arm around your waist as you pointed out the bracelets and necklaces that interested you. After much— one-sided— deliberation, you settled on two pieces, clinging onto Neji’s arm excitedly as your jewelry was plucked from the case and packaged neatly in white tissue paper. They were handed directly to you.
You hardly noticed an attendant handing Neji his own bag, filled with every other piece of jewelry you had expressed remote interest in. You held your smaller one up at him with a grin and kissed him on the cheek in thanks. With another polite goodbye to the shop attendants, you ushered Neji outside.
You stood together on the bridge, looking over the water and babbling about shopping. The water below rushed underneath, reflecting the sunlight to sparkle over the surface. Neji studied you as you spoke, taking in the shape of your nose and the curve of your lip.
He reached into his little bag— the one you never noticed until now— and plucked out a tiny tissue paper package. You fell quiet as Neji neatly unwrapped the paper to reveal the necklace you had captivated within the window. He undid the clasp, cocking his head slightly to the right as he draped the sapphire ornament around your neck.
Neji kept you completely and utterly spoiled.
Thank you to all who liked, reblogged, followed and otherwise supported. Your support means so much and is greatly appreciated.

Harry Potter is a Brand
(long post)
So I never understood why Harry Potter was so popular when I was growing up, being honest I always thought about it as a pretty average book it wasn't very original or groundbreaking, my theory was always that harry Potter popularity was tied to the successful movie franchise it created.
But this explanation wasn't great either, yesterday I watched a video (the consumerist dystopia of harry Potter) and it just explained why Harry Potter was so popular but also why we probably won't have a new harry Potter
Harry Potter is a brand, not a book, but a brand.
To explain this I will use Percy Jackson as an example, Both Percy Jackson and Harry Potter were released close to one another with the same public in mind children and teenagers but despite it's similarities between them Harry Potter went down to history as "THE" 2000s children's book series while Percy was it's less popular cousin for weirder kids, the more of the underground option.
And the reason for that it's because Percy Jackson was not a marketable media.
Think about it what can you sell about Percy Jackson, we have the camp half blood tshirts (single design orange shirts with a pegasus print) the camp bead necklace (leather necklace with normal beads) no parent will be that comfortable buying their kids a imitation of a bronze sword,or knifes, or shields, the only other marketable objects are Percy's pen (described as a normal ballpoint pen) Anabeth's invisibility hat(normal Yankee hat) Luke's winged shoes(converses) and That's pretty much it, of course one could sell specific cabins t-shirts but it's both not book accurate and also there's twelve of them.
Percy Jackson doesn't have symbols like harry Potter does
Now compare this to harry Potter where any object has a magical version, a expensive magical version, they aren't just jelly beans they are magical jelly beans with gross flavors so is also a gimmick toy, the chocolate frogs aren't just chocolate they come with collectibles like a kinderegg, they don't use pen they use feathers, harry don't fly in a average broom it's a special broom with golden letters and a fucked up handle, and wands that can be sold as the most unconfortable to use pens, and potions bottles that can be used to sell perfume, and symbols, the deathly hallows, Harry's scar, the death eaters symbol, they can be used in anything, necklaces prints patches.
And of course the biggest cash cow of them all the houses, special little color coded factions that not only are extremely present in the books but also are a way to express how you want to be perceived, red and gold lions if you want to be perceived as brave, light grey and blue crows for the intelligent ones, black and yellow badgers for the friendly ones and silver and green snakes for the bad boys.
You can put those colors in almost anything and sell it, not just book accurate uniforms scarfs and robes, any piece of clothing in general and shoes, backpacks, bags, Sandals, nail polish, special edition of the books, eyeshadow palettes, school books, planners.
I live in a touristic town, we have a railroad and some palace looking hotels and years ago some guy just make a of brand harry Potter experience, basically middle class kids can pay for a weekend in this hotel that looks like any other hotel in town but because they put around colorful flags, you can arrive via the very old normal looking railroad, and they are separated by the colors and you can participate in cringe quidditch roleplay (running around a field with a broom between your legs) he rips those suckers of hundreds just for the vague idea of Hogwarts houses
And this is the real magic of Harry Potter, while in Percy Jackson magic takes the form of average things for plot reasons and therefore aren't really appealing to sell, in harry Potter average things get a magical expensive version that you can buy for your full harry Potter experience.
And this is also why we will not see something like harry Potter again, even the most popular books these days arent as marketable as harry Potter was, you can seel clothes with symbols of your new series, flags and what not, and maybe action figures but you can't monetize every aspect of it like Rowling did
This of course without talking about the toys, toy wands, brooms, collectable dolls etc
Because Harry Potter is also very family friendly for anyone ages 0 to 100 can have harry Potter merch, house themed baby clothes and full nurseries based on the houses, toys plenty of them, uniforms, fake acceptance letters, wands specific wands, a theme park of consumerist nightmare where you can enjoy fake magical beer and buy plushies of real not magical animals or just the houses animals plushies with scarfs, a wedding/sweet sixteen/quincianera all themed around this book.
Game of thrones made a lot of money with the westeros houses merch but it's mostly clothes for adults they can't seel a lot of toys or children merch based on the murder, incest, rape book series and tv show
Bridgerton have special themed balls and that's it
And with many modern fantasy books focusing on being gritty gloomy and adult they can't also sell as well as Harry Potter did
So at the end of the day Harry Potter was never really a book, it's a marketing strategy, a trendy aesthetic and it's a good one, and it was always supposed to be one.
And this makes me think about the concept of "I can't give up harry Potter" people because it makes me wander do people really miss Harry Potter a pretty average book with not a very original concept (hero's journey+Magic school a thing that was already done+British rich kids boarding school) or do they miss the rush of serotonin of buying and consuming more and more merch about this series about having their whole aesthetic based on those books.
And maybe this is why I personally never felt as connected to harry Potter, and when Rowling fucked up I could so easily drop it, as a broke kid in a third world country harry Potter was a tease to me, like any toy brand it was a torture really, I wanted those things I wanted the wands and the robes and the scarfs and the jelly beans, and I was so jealous of this girl on class who had a personalized hogwarts letter and I couldn't avoid feeling like I would be"less of a fan" because I didn't owned anything Slytherin themed and I never even got to buy the books (read them by the library)
So in the end looking back maybe this was the answer why despite how many other bookish people I knew talked so much about this book when I really sat down to read it, it felt lacking, because once you strip away the Hogwarts roleplay the merch the personalized houses the color coding and the magical world you can buy, the magical world brand.
Harry Potter it's just a average book.

Skyrim is my favorite game because the cheats and exploits are so easy to pull off and since I got the anniversary edition on sale I can live out my homesteading dreams.
Goldenhills plantation is the first homestead I've gotten, my other houses being breeze home and hendraheim. I have a huge amount of cash from my duplication glitch & smithing power leveling addiction, making a fuck ton of gold diamond necklaces and occassionally selling them and then quicksave/punch/loading the bretton guy in whiterun can get you set for the next few in-game houses. Anyways the purpose of all that is to say that I was basically able to fully upgrade my homestead pretty much right after I finished the unquiet dead quest, and I'm very proud of it.
In the future I plan to buy every house and homestead that I can, and fully upgrade them all. I'm definitely anticipating having to make so many check-lists in my notebook soon
I have no idea where I'm going with this I'm so tired

BACKGROUND/CAREER.
mei zhong was originally born in hong kong-- in fact, her parents over there are pretty big shots -- her father is a big time tech company ceo and her mother is an executive at the company too. the zhongs come from generations and generations of wealth.
even though her parents were quite busy, they made sure to make time for all of their kids, as they relied heavily on their future success and wanted to make sure they could contribute and give them as good of a childhood as possible. mei is a middle child and has 4 other siblings.
mei was always a bit of the problem child, but she didn't care one bit. she always proposed business plans at school and attempted to start pretend businesses just to feel like she was in power.. selling candy bars for money even if she didn't need the extra cash. she tended to act out in class too when she didn't get her way, and it was starting to annoy her parents at best.
she was definitely one of the mean girls in middle school, but in high school toned it down a bit just so she could hopefully get accepted into one of the top colleges in the country-- which, although she was accepted to most of them, she ended up dropping out after the first semester due to some bad decisions she had made.
she became a bit of a party girl, not focused enough on her studies, and realistically didn't even know what she wanted to major in. on a whirlwind decision and without letting her parents know, she dropped out and decided to live with her friends for a while-- before realizing that she had no more money and eventually needed to run back to them.
with that, her parents accepted her back into their home, but on terms that she would work for her father's business as an executive admin for one of the big-time leaders at the company. it practically drained her, and she was miserable for the years that she worked there.
during that time, she was introduced to a man that belonged to another big time family that her parents knew well-- in fact, they were best friends. mei was pretty pressured to marry him only after a year of the two meeting, and by the age of 22 she was settled down-- or so we thought.
she felt trapped in hong kong. she was ready to get away, start her own business and find success on her own (with her parent's money). a friend had suggested moving out to la with them, and without hesitation she went out their on her own, even leaving her husband behind and promising that it was just a business trip. her parents unknowingly supported the idea, thinking it would help make the family more money, when in reality it could possibly have ruined everything for them. and by the young age of 26, she was off to the us in attempts to build her own successful design firm.
surprisingly enough, it was almost a cake walk for mei to create such a successful business. her parents had plenty of clients, friends and family in the us and they all wanted to support mei's business, which only spread like wildfire and only a year in she was already gaining a-list celebrity clientele.
it only took a few trips out to the us and a few more years of bickering back and forth before mei and her husband to realize that they were not meant to be. it was a silly attempt of their parents to matchmake, but ultimately they both wanted to go down separate paths that didn't make sense for them to continue forth-- plus, her husband was constantly paranoid that she was cheating on him with some new american boy (she was, but that's not the point LMAO).
suddenly, after what only seemed like a year had passed it had now been ten years since she first moved to the us and she received an abrupt reminder that her visa was expiring very soon-- but mei wasn't ready to fully commit to america and become a citizen, and her parents were begging her to come back home. rushing and looking for any possible loophole for her to stay in the us a bit longer, she was reminded that she could get married and it would buy her some time.. who gives a fuck if it's illegal?
that led her to meeting a starving artist who couldn't be more of an opposite to her. but, she was desperate, as was the other person for some money, and after a bit of negotiations the two decided to elope in vegas (how romantic).
as the two continue to attempt to live in peace and harmony with each other, it's become harder and harder every day. the two are constantly butting heads and it's becoming increasingly more difficult for them to keep up the act. but mei would do anything to stay in the us just for that extra bit of cash before relocating.
PERSONALITY.
even though mei seems like a selfish bitch, she isn't... not always, at least. she's simply been taught and told to always put herself first, and she wants nothing more than to receive her parents' validation so that they know she can make good decisions for the family.
although she does seem very career oriented, give her a couple glasses of wine and she'll return to her old party girl self that we met back in her one semester of college.
definitely a bit materialistic, especially now that she's friends and clients that are celebrities. she had plenty of famous friends back in hong kong but it felt a bit different in the us.
she is secretly very nurturing-- wouldn't show that to anyone except for the people she truly loves and cares for, and would take care of them in a heartbeat-- especially her siblings.
HEADCANONS.
secretly wants kids very very badly and her parents are starting to pressure her to have some to continue the family legacy... yikes
you will NEVER catch her in sweatpants. she has to dress for success and it's gotten her pretty far in life.
will be a disheveled mess if she doesn't go to her daily yoga sessions.
also needs a cup of coffee to make sure her day goes smoothly, otherwise it's over for everyone #millenialthings
secretly a hopeless romantic... her current situation says otherwise but she cares a lot more about her career atm

Whether you need the extra money for an emergency, a particular purchase, or to downsize your collection, selling your jewelry can provide a quick and effective solution. But how do you go about getting the best deal? How do you ensure you're not being shortchanged?
In this blog, we'll explain everything you need to know to get the best cash for jewelry offer, from understanding what makes your jewelry valuable to finding the right buyer. We'll cover the different selling options available, share tips for getting the highest price, and guide you on how to avoid common pitfalls that could cost you money.
Why Sell Your Jewelry for Cash?
Selling your jewelry can be a great way to raise funds quickly. Life circumstances change; sometimes, you need a little extra cash. If your jewelry is sitting in a drawer collecting dust, why not make it work for you? The good news is that many buyers are willing to pay top dollar for jewelry, especially if it is made of valuable metals or features quality stones.
Before you sell your jewelry, it's essential to understand its value. This knowledge can help you choose a buyer and get the best cash-for-jewelry offer.
Understanding the Value of Your Jewelry
Not all jewelry is created equal, and its value depends on several factors. Here are a few things to consider when evaluating your jewelry:
Material: Gold, silver, platinum, and diamonds hold the most value. Jewelry from these materials is often worth more than costume or non-precious pieces.
Weight: The weight of jewelry, especially gold or silver jewelry, plays a big role in determining its value.
Condition: The better the condition of your jewelry, the higher the price you can expect.
Designer or Brand: Designer jewelry or pieces from well-known brands can fetch higher prices due to brand recognition.
Where Can You Sell Jewelry for Cash?
There are several places where you can sell your jewelry for cash. Below are some of the most popular options:
Jewelry Stores
Many jewelry stores offer to buy gold, silver, and diamonds from customers. They may even have special programs for buying back jewelry from customers who have previously purchased from them. Jewelry stores are a convenient option because they offer quick cash, and they typically know the value of the pieces they buy.
Pawn Shops
Pawn shops are another common place to sell jewelry. They offer cash quickly, but remember that they may only sometimes offer the best price for your jewelry. Pawn shops provide lower amounts because they must resell the items for a profit.
Online Marketplaces
Online marketplaces like eBay and Etsy can be great options if you want to sell your jewelry to a larger audience. You'll have more control over the price, but selling online can take longer and may involve shipping costs.
Specialized Jewelry Buyers
Some businesses specialize in buying jewelry. These buyers often have a better understanding of jewelry and may be able to offer higher amounts than pawn shops or general jewelry stores. Look for established, reputable buyers who have positive reviews from previous customers.
Tips for Getting the Best Cash for Jewelry
To ensure you get the best deal, follow these helpful tips:
Do Your Research
Before you even think about selling your jewelry, do some research. Find out the current price of gold, silver, and diamonds. The cost of precious metals fluctuates, so knowing the current market value will help you understand the price range you should expect.
Get Multiple Offers
It's always a good idea to get offers from several buyers. Whether you visit local pawn shops or jewelry stores or contact online buyers, getting multiple offers will give you a better sense of what your jewelry is worth.
Check for Hidden Value
Sometimes, jewelry can have hidden value. For example, a vintage or antique piece could be worth more than its metal and gemstone content. Be sure to check your jewelry's craftsmanship, age, and potential collector's value.
Avoid High Commissions or Fees
Some buyers charge high commissions or fees, which can affect the amount you receive for your jewelry. When looking for cash for jewelry, ask about any potential fees before committing to a sale.
Be Honest About the Condition
Be transparent about the condition of your jewelry when discussing a sale. Buyers appreciate honesty, and it can help prevent any misunderstandings when it's time to make a deal.
Consider the Payment Method
Consider how you'll be paid when you agree to sell your jewelry. Some buyers offer cash, while others may offer a check or bank transfer. Cash payments are often the fastest and easiest way to receive funds.
How to Spot a Fair Buyer
Finding a trustworthy buyer is crucial to getting the best cash for jewelry deals. Here's how you can spot a reputable buyer:
Look for Reviews: Before selling your jewelry to buyers, check online reviews or ask for recommendations. A buyer with positive reviews and a solid reputation will likely offer you a fair price.
Certifications: Ensure the buyer is certified by industry organizations like the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). This ensures they follow ethical business practices.
Transparent Offers: A good buyer will be transparent about how they evaluate the value of your jewelry. They should explain the pricing factors and offer a fair deal based on the current market value.
Selling your jewelry for cash can be a great way to turn old, unused items into valuable ones. Whether you need extra funds or want to declutter, finding the right buyer is critical to getting the best deal. Do your research, get multiple offers, and choose a reputable buyer who will offer you fair prices. With these tips, you'll be well on your way to securing the best cash for jewelry deals.
