The Evermore Grimoire: Powers

Lunakinesis is the power to create, shape and manipulate all aspects of a moon/moons, including its gravity and the effects it has on the planet, reflective surface, time-keeping and its use of lunar energy. Those that wield this power can also absorb moonlight and energy and then re-release it in the form of huge rays of pure lunar energy that can knock over or even obliterate dozens of targets. I have some name ideas for the statue princess. Since the moon is what brings her to life, why not have her name be related to the moon? My top three choices are Amalthea, Kamaria, and Nokomis. Amalthea is the name of one of Jupiter's moons, Kamaria means beauty of the moon, and Nokomis means moon princess. If you are not interested in these names, I do have other moon name options. Bianca, Artemis, Diana, Cordelia, and Selene. Either she chooses the name or her lover does when seeing the moon.

See the problem is that I like all those names, they’re all super cool names....but I don’t think any of them really fit Lake as a character? Like if it was just some statue come to life then maybe, but it’s still intended to have Lake’s personality, and she’s not the type of person to want a flashy, intricate name. In the show she just looks at her own reflection in the water and went “wow, that’s me, I don’t need to be afraid of reflections anymore, I feel safe now” and decides that that’s who she is.

Also I don’t think Jesse would come up with names like those either because in canon he names everything Dracula. So if it was up to him in the au she’d probably be named ‘moon’ or ‘batty’ or something

Moon on its own tho isn’t really a bad name so that’s probably what the two of them will go with until they can come up with something that fits her better (still kinda like the idea of the statue looking at the pond next to her and going “sure, whatever, let’s go with that” and just calling herself Pond akhfjfjfj also because that has the same spirit as the name Lake)

Star Twinkle! Mesopotamian Pantheon!

With these girls, I wanted to reach out and explore other pantheons. I skimmed the Mesopotamian gods a little in school so I decided to go a bit further here.

(Note: I apologize for any mistakes with the gods and goddesses. Finding gods that matched the Cures was not easy.)

Today’s stars are Hoshina Hikaru/Cure Star, Hagoromo Lala/Cure Milky, Amamiya Elena/Cure Soliel, Kaguya Madoka/Cure Selene, and Yuni/Blue Cat/Mao/Cure Cosmo!

(In my headcanon, Yuni’s last name on Earth is Nijika 虹花 (虹 (niji) ("rainbow"), 花 (ka) (“flower”).)

In her first life, Hikaru was the daughter of Inanna (later Ishtar), the Sumerian goddess of love, sexuality, prostitution, and war. She was the divine personification of the planet Venus, the morning and evening star. She named her Akilah (علياء) [clever, bright].

Lala was named Layla (ليلى) [woman of the night] by her parent Ninsianna, a Sumerian deity of the planet Venus.

Elena was the daughter of Utu, the god of the sun. He named her Zahra (زهراء‎) [beautiful, bright, shining, brilliant].

Madoka was the daughter of Nanna (Enzu or Zuen, “Lord of Wisdom”), the ancient god of the moon. He named her Kamaria (كاماريه) [bright as the moon].

Yuni named Alia (علياء) [from heaven] by her parent Ishum, the night watchman and protector.
