Hi, yes, Lilura is getting a reboot. I wasn't a massive fan of her og lore and story so I changed some stuff.

But the main stuff is the same: She's in Gotham, She is originally from Boston, She got magic, She is an anarchist punk, She may or may not have some deeper secret even she does know about. You know, the important stuff.

Y'all were so nice about my Milk Run 2 (Returning the Sword to the Stone) post that I'm giving you a piece of it.

Qui-Gon is learning a LOT about undercover missions with Uncle Sifo-Dyas! :D

“Qui-Gon, you and I trust each other, don’t we?” 

…Master Sifo-Dyas always asked such interestingly timed questions. 

Qui-Gon adjusted the speeder’s course around a curve to give himself a moment to think. Yes was the obvious answer, but why was edging in strongly. “Master Dooku says I am to consider you a part of my training lineage as much as himself. And I do.” 

“Oh, good!” Sifo-Dyas sounded pleased. “Because I was thinking, maybe that one part back there doesn’t get back to him when we tell him about all this later.” 

That one part. Qui-Gon considered their last few hours together. The part where Master Sifo-Dyas was close personal friends with sex workers? The fistfight on the floor of the bar? Or the little oddity that everyone in the club had seemed to know Sifo-Dyas, and also, to think he had died violently some years earlier?

He couldn’t help it; he took his attention from steering through the traffic to glance over at the seer.

Sifo-Dyas winced as he felt for the bleeding hole where his fang earring had made its inglorious exit in the grip of the Pantoran. “Dooku’s been saying someone would rip that thing out of my head for years. He’ll be insufferable if he learns he was right." 

He nodded automatically. It did sound like Master Dooku, in truth.

"Well," Sifo-Dyas amended, "more insufferable than usual."

Qui-Gon found himself blurting out the question he’d been wanting to ask since their evening began. “Also, how do you know that Twi’lek woman?”

“Shakka Rha?” Sifo-Dyas waved a hand, as if to reference the unpresent dancer. “We used to sleep together.”

Qui-Gon kept his hands steady on the controls and tried to make his face as neutral as possible. He might have expected that kind of confession from Rael, but Sifo-Dyas was a disconcerting shock. 

“Literally.” Sifo-Dyas shrugged. “We shared a rented bed at the club. When I went under, I was still adjusting from surface time, used to diurnal hours. She needed a place to crash between shifts, and knew I wouldn’t bother her. She always passed me great information. When we were actually awake, I mean.” 

That sounded almost reasonable. Unconventional, perhaps, but…

“She was a fantastic big spoon, too,” Sifo-Dyas added, settling back into the speeder’s seat with a contented sigh, evidently at the blissful memory of falling asleep in a stranger’s arms. 

Qui-Gon decided to nod again.

Do you know treasure seekers - visions of gold? My sister and I used to play this together on the family computer in the late 2000s, it was our first hopa and we were amazed! I talked to her recently about it and the part we remember best is that you catch fish and cook them at some point or something?

I don’t know how well the game holds up though. Just from looking at screenshots the graphics aren’t appealing to me nowadays…

I'm always curious to look at the early 2000's HOPA games, since they were early pioneers of the genre. The downside to it is that old computer/game mechanics are frustrating and some games don't even load on modern systems. I'm very forgiving of early aged CGI models + animations, and the game doesn't look too bad considering that..!

I have no clue if the mechanics still work reasonably or not. I don't know if I'd nab this game myself, but maybe someone who has can tell me!

I wish the Big Fish Games site offered these old games for cheap like they do on Amazon. It's listed for $2 there and their usual $10 charge on their site. :/ So if you're interested to replay it for cheap-

I’ll never quite get over just how integrated kids are into daily Jedi life and the implications of that.

Dooku’s Temple "job" for years seems to have been “teaching lightsaber preschool.” Sifo-Dyas, the guy with the scary doom visions? Oh yeah, they have him working with infants, bringing babies to the Temple as a Seeker. Jocasta Nu is constantly depicted interacting with the younger generation of Jedi, teaching, helping, or mentoring. In TCW, she knows all the Padawans on sight. 

There’s just something really ordinary and charming to me about this. Sure, Dooku is a terrifying 2m of spider limbs in a robe, but he’s still going down on one sinister knee to check out the little crying kid who got a finger crunched by one of those wooden training swords. How many of the TCW-era Jedi were once babies who played with Sifo-Dyas’s hair loopies or cuddled on his chest as he pointed his T-6 back toward the Temple after another successful Seeking mission? (Space is, after all, cold. 🥺) You just know Jocasta is in very reluctant possession of knowledge of every single teen Padawan drama, crush, or breakup. She tries to stay out of it, but she’s broken up fights and pulled particulars into her office for tea and a gentle lecture on the inherent self-destructiveness of gossip. 

And these are not “just some” Jedi - they are all combat trained, politically important, at the top of their rank and even each sit on the Council at some point in their lives. The Jedi Order really went “super powerful space wizards with laser swords, yeah, but they should also all definitely know how to change a diaper."
