I had a customer come into a brand i worked at once and she was being very picky about needing a dress for a wedding and i was very patient and kind w her bc i could see it was mostly anxiety.
Turned out her son was moving his wedding up 3 months so her husband who was dying of cancer could attend and she apologised for being snippy and thanked me for being kind and she cried and i gave her a hug and let her talk it out and wiped away some of my own tears bc how could you not cry over that. I think it was the first time she'd allowed herself to be upset about it
So when she'd picked a dress i told her how to accessorise it to be what she wanted, gave her every discount i could, and sincerely wished her peace and joy at her son's wedding and took a bathroom break to sob like a baby after she'd gone.

last night at work there was a guy who, when he asked if there was anybody working in box office, expressed disappointment and expressed how much he hated the Automatic Ticketing Kiosks. I just agreed with him and said “yeah i hate those things too. We don’t schedule people in box office anymore because head office doesn’t want us to” and went on about how they dont want to pay the extra employees and ATKs cost less than scheduling a real person. i think he was slightly stunned at my response. like dude. I’m trashing head office any chance i get.
