* I don't know why , but Seb's main trope in my mind is ' right person, wrong time ' 🤷🏻‍♀️, like, he would have the chance to choose them but wouldn't , thinking he was doing her/them both a good favour by letting go , but guess what!? turns out they already had everything they need because they had each other and to her he was more than enough, and it'd be too late to turn back to what they once were , because he already moved too far for them to be . 🙄😞.

She rearranged her desk for the third time that day , stacking and replacing all the files and folders until she almost burned the whole office out of stress , she was sure of the results, but that didn't help when the announcement time closed in .

A knock on the door frame snapped her out , but her mood didn't change as she nod at the person brave enough to walk up to her in one of her anxiety induced sprees, seeing as non of her team dared to disturb her when she in so deep , so it's Sebastian who took the risk and volunteered to call her out , walking in unaffected by her glare and made himself comfortable in one of the chairs before her desk after discarding his suit jacket over it's back before giving her an amused grin " if you keep on rearranging I'm sure these shelves will fall off " her glare sharpened as she asked " what do you want Mr Vettel ? " He looked straight into her eyes and smiled softly " you " .

she avoided his eyes and turned to grab the box by her feet , almost halfway done with filling it with documents and files to take to storage, her racing mind calmed a bit as well as her tone as she gave him a quick glance regretting it when she found him already looking at her , his hand supporting his head with his body leaning on his elbow on the arm of the chair , his relaxed posture and calm demeanor weren't strange to her but the yearning look on his face made her question her sanity , it took a toll on her to will herself to ignore for the past year but she somehow managed .

In her attempt to look away her eyes fell on the silver pin on his tie , another reminder of what she tried so hard to burry but they kept on haunting her wherever she go .

She cleared her throat pointing out the door " you should be out there , it's about time " he looked back , the whole floor was buzzing with anticipation, some already settled before the big screen waiting for the live broadcast to start , before turning his attention to her " yeah , but not without you " she shook her head lifting the box then made her way to the cabinet " I won't stay till the announcement, by then I'll be on my way " , that made him stand and make his way up to her , when he failed to meet her eyes he gently took hold of her hand , pleading quietly " please , stay " she kept her eyes on their joined hands about to make another excuse but another knock on the frame beat her , Britta's cheerful face greeted them and she didn't waste time calling hurriedly " it's live ! Come on , everyone is waiting for you !" Then as quick as she appeared she went back out not waiting for their reaction.

Sebastian's hold on her hand tightened, assuring her and himself as he held it up to his chest , right above his rabidly beating heart , his eyes pleading again " please " making her sigh , knowing full well how nervous he actually is and nods in defeat, easing his nerves as she took her hand out of his , reaching up absentmindedly to straighten his loose tie , adjusting the pin then she batted his chest lightly " come on Mr Vettel, everyone is waiting " she then side stepped him to her desk , taking her bag along and made her way out .

He took a deep breath, steeling his nerves and made his way out but paused at the desk, on top of a stack of flyers was a crystal paper weight , shaped into a ball with a bumblebee engraved inside with vibrant colours, an old gig at his old beehive , back at their old house, where he took the hobby of beekeeping and somehow managed to get her involved, planting and growing a full garden in the corner of their old farmhouse.

But now is not the time to reminisce about the past, he picked his discarded jacket , put it on and straightened his tie once again letting his hand linger over his heart before he finally made his way out .

Once they saw him , the room erupted in cheers , he stood before them after getting them to settle for a minute " I just wanted to say how proud I am of the work everyone put on since day one , everyone in and out did an amazing job and no matter how tonight turns out it's been an honour to work with you all on this campaign" he paused as his eyes fell on her " and most importantly our lovely manager the one and only, Y/N L/N " another round of cheers rose across the room making her shake her head at her team's antics, and eventually set her eyes back to meet his from across the room and he went on " our courageous manager who believed in our message and stood strong in every step of the way , and most importantly kicked some sense into us when we doubted our capabilities , tonight I and I think I speak for everyone here when I sincerely say , thank you for believing in us " She nods her head in thanks as she raised a glass in a toast " to us , and to everyone who believes " everyone cheered " to us!" And sat back waiting .

Just as he was about to make his way to her a hand tapped his shoulder, when he turned he didn't expect to come face to face with his wife Elizabeth or as she insisted to be called 'Lizzie' , who stood before him a wide grin adorning her cheeks as she asked " I hope I didn't miss anything important? " He shook his head and asked in confusion " no, it's not time yet , what are you doing here?" She tilted her head " what ?, you don't want me here ? , I thought it'd be a surprise to come here for such a big night " he sighed guiding her to sit down, taking the chair beside her " no it's not that , I just didn't expect you to show up " she nods in understanding reaching to adjust his tie but he lightly moved her hand away " it's fine " both turning to the screen , unaware of the two sets of eyes watching them .

Y/N and her best friend/assistant Ellie sat to the side , sharing a knowing look before they turned back observe silently taking the new round of drinks Kimi , Ellie's husband offered them , making him raise an eyebrow at their solemn faces before following their sightline, huffing a sigh at the couple as his face soured " what is SHE doing here? " Both friends shrugged in synchronization " beats me " he rolled his eyes and leaned back on his chair , not willing to budge as a group of overly exited rookies called him over , sending them a glare before turning to the screen with a huff as his wife smacked his shoulder to get his attention, almost everyone held their breath as the announcer started counting votes of every state , giving percentage, numbers of each before announcing after a pause of anticipation " and our new president , the winner of the 2024 elections with 75% of the votes is , Sebastian Vettel!" .

Nobody uttered a word as they stared at the statistics displayed on the screen, then like a tidal wave cheers erupted louder than ever , everyone was celebrating the win , hugging and congratulating eachother, everyone but two , their eyes met from across the room , both filled with joy and a sense of pride , she gave him a rare breathtaking smile, nodding at him in understanding at the overwhelmed look in his eyes ,and he couldn't help but smile back , eyes welling up as he took a step forward, trying to will his body to function again, to recover from the shock, to reach her side , but it didn't last long as a hand reached up to cup his face , the diamond ring shining in a taunting manner as the cold band touched his skin, another hand followed on the other side making him turn his attention away and startled as he got pulled into a deep kiss , igniting more cheers from the group around them and when he finally broke apart from it , his wife cheerfully congratulated him before moving her attention to congratulate others around them , and when he hastily looked her way again his heart deflated at the sight of her back as she left , closing the door quietly behind her as she stepped out into the cold night air .

SEBASTIAN VETTEL KNEW THAT HAVING A DOUBLE LIFE WAS DIFFICULT, BUT HE DIDN'T KNOW IT WOULD BE THAT HARD. Since he was bitten by a radioactive spider during a school trip, his life changed completely. At first, balancing the last few months of senior year with the task of being a local hero in Heppenheim was quite difficult. However, the real problem began when he moved to Berlin to study Biomedical Engineering with his two best friends, Nico Rosberg and Y/N Y/L/N.

At first, everything was great: Seb went to his classes and, in the evenings, patrolled the city looking for loose criminals and elderly ladies in distress who had lost their kittens. The problem, much to his regret, began two months after his arrival to the German capital when what initially were minor issues of little importance turned into life-and-death situations, where the boy had to stay out on the streets until the early hours of the morning, using Hanna, a student he had met in one of his classes, and the desire of wanting to date with her, as an excuse. Except he really wanted to date Hanna.

Nico was completely fine with the idea of Sebastian living his life and even insisted that he should try something with that blonde girl who seemed to catch his attention, encouraging him to ask her out and become the most envied couple on campus. Y/N, on the other hand, was constantly worried about Seb, staying awake every night until he returned home and even trying to follow him on more than one occasion to see if her best friend was telling the truth or if he was just getting into trouble and she knew nothing about.

Knowing that all Sebastian Vettel did was lie, and seeing that those same lies were accompanied by academic results that were plummeting alongside with his increasing desperation, Y/N offered Seb help to pass his retake exams after Christmas in exchange of just one thing: whatever was going on in his life, he would tell her before he took his last exam.

With a knot in his throat, Sebastian promised her so even knowing that no one, and especially not her, could know that he was Spider-Man... at least not until Y/N started getting to know the superhero when her friend stood her up for the second time and realized that, perhaps, Spidey and Seb had more in common than they should.

“luke, alison! your aunt y/n is here!” your sister yelled as she opened the door to her home. in a matter of seconds, loud footsteps were heard running down the stairs. “no running!”

but still the kids didn’t listen, they were excited to see their aunt. “hey, my babies! oh my god, you two have grown so much. stop growing!” you hugged your niece and nephew.

“i’m almost as tall as mom!” alison, the younger sister, said.

“liar, that’s just what dad says to make you feel better. i’m going to grow more than you and then i’ll be taller than you.” luke teased.

“you both can be tall, but never as tall as me.” you joked as you placed a kiss on their cheeks.

“are you going to stay with us forever?” alison asked innocently. “dad said that you don’t want to stay with your husband anymore and you’re going to stay with us.”

“alison!”

the truth was hard for little kids to understand. yes, you were going to stay with your sister for a few days and yes, you didn’t want to stay with your husband anymore, but it was a bit more complicated than that. your husband had cheated, lied, manipulated you and you had enough. he was the reason you couldn’t come back to the sport you loved and worked your whole life for.

“well i am going to be staying here, but not forever. i just needed a break from him, it’s normal.” you tried to explain to the girl.

“but my mom and dad don’t take breaks?”

“alison, just go to your room, you too luke, please. dinner is going to be ready in an hour.” your sister said, feeling embarrassed that alison would ask those questions.

“what did i do?” the older boy whines as he and his sister walked up to their rooms.

“i’m sorry. i spoke to jack the night you called. we were cleaning up the table after dinner, i assume she heard.” your sister explained.

“it’s okay, they’ll understand when they’re older. not everyone is cut out to be loved . . .”

only a few people had known about your issues with infertility, your sister and lewis being two of them. after you retired from f1, you were sure that in a couple months, you were going to be busy with doctor’s appointments, buying baby clothes and building a crib, but none of that happened. after a year of trying, you were convinced you weren’t meant to be a mom.

you thought about returning to the track, after all many drivers returned after saying they were retiring, why couldn’t you? but that plan was spoiled by the man you thought loved you.

“you can’t go back, you don’t belong there. it’s a man’s sport. you’re probably going to crash in the first lap anyways.”

you didn’t know why you stayed with him, but you did. maybe it was the promises he kept telling you about or the hopefulness that one day you would become parents and maybe he would change. but again, none of that happened.

“um, i have to call someone. i’ll be right back. excuse me.” you told your sister as you walked to the patio door and exited the house. without hesitating, you clicked on a familiar contact. you held your phone against your ear and waited for the person on the other end to pick up. it felt like forever, but eventually they picked up the call.
