ok so obv there's a lot [ here ] regarding general treatment, but i do think ed and guin are probs his most consistent top contendors for the throne! not really bc of any particular claim -- he views himself as proof positive that god will choose the greatest (or this is what he tells himself) whatever a mortal king might prefer (still tryna stick it to his dad even tho the man's been gone a long time now laksjfkjs) -- but bc he views them as the most intelligent/capable/strong oof his kids. arthur he doesn't view as v intelligent, sebastian he doesn't view as v tough, and cassandra is a girl. yes, guin is also a girl, but she's the exception that proves the rule that women can't rule laksjdfjksdf

so yeah!! obv he does change his mind, esp if he's p/o'd at ed or guin (bc he's such a great dad <3) and wants to teach them a lesson/humble them a bit, raising up one of their siblings is a great tactic! or if, say, he watched ed get pummeled by arthur in the ring or smth and is like 'oh god that's not a good look for a king' laksjfkjdsf

so yeah! i do think ed and guin probs has the most experience in that sense -- like, they're the ones most likely to be summoned to shadow him for a day or whatever which is probs just as trying as it is rewarding bc he's def got some stannis baratheon in him and so he's pr severe a lot and akljdsfkjdsf its fun!

Oh my god, these are such fantastic questions. I feel like I have to turn the question back on you and ask how you came up with such unique ones?? Whenever I do this kind of game, I cannot think of actually interesting questions at all lmao

1.

Hmmmm....maybe that we all have to dress formally/more dressy all the time- Again, I like comfy clothes as much as the next person and sometimes when I wake up and have to go out, I cannot muster the energy to dress well at all. HOWEVER at the same time, I don't really feel incentivized to dress up anyways, considering I'll probably end up severely standing out. It just makes me so grrr to look at old paintings or pictures and everyone feels much more stylish compared to nowadays. Though, I guess their version of "dressing down" appears formal to us in modern day. Sigh, I just wanna dress up fancy and not feel like I'm super out of place. I'm just not a huge fan of modern fashion, especially fast fashion. Like we own so many more clothes now then we did in the past, but they're all so much worse quality and mainly boring.

Ahhhhh good question. I think I might have said before, but a lot of them just come from me doing something or learning about something new, and I want to share it with people. But it feels much more interesting to actually do something with that information, rather than just infodump. It's actually a symbiotic relationship. I learn/do something -> I use making an au as a medium to share this new interest -> I then have an actual reason to learn more in depth, actually retain the info and have a reason to share it! I think it has to be something very fascinating to me for it to actually become a full, committed AU though. I joke a lot about creating random ones, but it has to actually stick in my head for it to come to fruition. But a lot of the things I joke about usually end up integrating into an AU. Such as when I use Machiavelli quotes, or draw specific scenarios. But yeah they're usually just random concepts that I want to draw, and then I come up with lore to make it make sense. It's fun though to randomly discover parallels, and make associations prob no one else would ever make. Like to who else other than me would HRE Charles VI and Sebastian Vettel being similar make any sense?? Let me try to write out how I remember coming up with my main AUs: Boy King AU: I've talked about this in depth before but basically I saw a little statuette of a Holy Roman Emperor as a literal boy king and it stuck in my mind for a while, and I'm like, haha Seb statue??? And it all spiraled from there. Matador AU: I think I randomly got a thirst trap tiktok of matadors on my fyp, and I became a bit obsessed with their clothes and aesthetic. And then I was like, Spain...Fernando...matador Fernando!! And actually, the only reason that AU has lore is bcs I'm a vettonso stannie lol(same with Boy King AU tbh!!) Nandopoleon: Well, I've been obsessed with Napoleon a while, so of course I unconsciously started trying to make comparisons. But honestly....they really are so fucking similar, it's insane to me. They are the same person, okay!! Renaissance Muse AU: Purely came from thinking Seb looked similar to The David. But tbh now it's more about statues/works of art I think he looks similar to and want to draw! + Bond AU and Hussar AU: I just find them fascinating and love the parallels. One of my fav posts of mine is still the Hussar to F1 comparison, very similar to matador AU.

Lmfao you already know I'm making the vettonso baby. I like to think since they're pretty similar, the baby would be 2x as talented. It's hard to say who could raise them bcs I feel like those related to F1 who are good parents prob wouldn't put their kid into F1. So maybe Mark? And also I think it's kinda funny for him to have to raise vettonso's love child. But it's like Mark with Oscar. Maybe Mark didn't totally succeed, but maybe he can through managing the next gen, y'know?

You know I’ve been waiting for someone to say this about Lloyd. It just doesn’t make sense. I get creative expression but some stuff I come across makes me have to take a break because wtf, and I’ll mention things like when they write his character Steve rogers as a crazy creep who stalks kidnaps and rapes the reader, or when he does it with Bucky. Don’t even get me started on how people write Sebastian Stans cannibal character Steve and make it like he’s capable of all these good and loving things. I’m not trying to shame or judge anyone but come on you can’t tell me it’s a little weird

the way they genuinely try to humanise characters such as lloyd hansen, who has canonically, verbally and visually, used children as human shields and had no qualms about killing them, and in turn dehumanising the protagonist in the meantime is fucking weirddddddddddddd. i cannot say enough that these people need to seek a therapeutic intervention, especially in regards to mangling chris evans and sebastian stan's good/protagonist characters into raping, violent fucking neanderthals. which is frankly an insult to neanderthals because i'm sure they acted better than the way these people write fucking steve rogers and bucky barnes to act.

like, yeah, there's exploration of taboo and dark topics but my fucking god when it's nearly every character/reader fic i have to parse through to use the fucking tag, seek help. i'm shaming you. if i have to see psychologists and psychiatrists for my violent impulses and daydreams, you should too, especially because you're actually pushing content into the fucking world of your little risqué sexual fantasies. anyways. all this because you want chris evans and sebastian stan to fuck you when they won't. ever. cope with it.

umm okay so i don’t think it’s like “problematic” in the cancel culture sense, but i do take issue with several facets of the term, and i was omw outside and annoyed when i made the original post so. brevity took precedence over nuance. discourse under the cut eeee

we hear it all the time about seb. seb with his grid kids, grid dad this, and grid dad that. on the surface, i suppose there’s nothing insidious about it—after all, the man IS a father, and it’s not a stretch to think he’d feel some paternal-esque emotions about the younger drivers, particularly any he might see himself reflected in, like charles. god knows i feel similarly about my friends who are younger than me at uni. however, it’s when you think about the implications of the term, as well as how it’s been used most frequently, that it starts to rub one the wrong way.

the thing is: sebastian vettel is not the father of anybody on that grid. he is not a chaperone at a birthday party. he is a driver in his own right with his own ambitions. he is more than a one-dimensional father figure in a fictional world. he doesn’t owe any of the younger drivers anything. also—he’s not that old?? daniel is a couple years younger, lewis a couple years older, and nobody is calling them “grid dad” with the same fervour.

the closest comparison i can think of is that the term is doing to him what cars 3 did to lightning mcqueen, but if u haven’t watched cars 3, that might not make sense. it’s like, it’s the prescribed cottage core pacifist aesthetic that bugs me and whenever people use it, it’s almost always to fit their characterization that he’s already stepped aside and wants to see others win more than himself. which, if u have seen any of his race weekend interviews, is not true. i’m constantly disappointed over the blatant fanonization, uwu-ificiation, what have you, of this man. from shit like “sebu is SO CUTE” (and can we talk about how that contributes to infantilizing east asian language/culture at large) to this grid dad stuff, it’s like people don’t see him as a grown fucking man who is his own person. it’s dehumanizing: “grid dad” makes him a caricature and a combination of fictional tropes.

the biggest point of contention, i think, is when it comes to mick, charles, or max, but mainly mick, just because of the history there. in general, i dislike pigeonholing him into a fatherly role for the Kids Who Need A Dad. he’s not a stand-in for michael. charles would never dream of replacing his father. we don’t know jack shit about max’s childhood situation except what he’s chosen to disclose. tbh the way people make grief porn out of these three is quite frankly discomfiting. like maybe it’s just me but i don’t think their lives are some toy story 3 tearjerker to poke and prod at insensitively?? i’m getting off track.
