Ya gurl finished 9 months of basic training at sea rescue last night! It may have involved getting yeeted on and off of boats in the middle of the night until fingers were icicles and pressing the button on the radio was a herculean task, but it's done! Onwards to junior crew status and the bottom rung of a new totem pole, but at least that aspect is behind me now!

It would be amazing if you can come. Even if it’s only to donate ���7,50 so we can call 1 minute with those in distress at sea. Yes really, it costs seven euros and fifty cents per minute. Because we call on satellite phone. If you want to know more, come on saturday and get informed!

THE ALARM PHONE is an emergency hotline for people on the move who are in distress at sea. The aim is to support rescue operations and prevent human rights violations. The short-term focus is to ensure that rescue missions are carried out promptly and to prevent pushbacks and other violations. The long-term goal is to create open borders and freedom of movement for everyone. International phone calls are highly costly, requiring substantial amounts of money to keep this operation running and save lives.
