Daniel could feel his grin grow, eyes softening, and his shoulders loosening all at the sound of her name. It takes him a moment to register the question, but when he does his grin grows more.

“I wasn’t really expecting it, you know? But she’s just great, I mean absolutely fantastic.” “And the age difference isn’t an issue?” The reporter presses, though more gently than expected. He scoffs, shaking his head. “No, not all. We want the same things in life and we both have very similar timelines for when we want them. We talked about all of that before we even went on a date and us wanting the same things, just helped finally take the next step.”

“And has the backlash affected you two at all?” “No.” Daniel smiles at the confused look the reporter gives him, letting out a chuckle. “We knew it was going to cause a splash. We’ve never ignored the age difference between us. It’s there and ignoring it wouldn’t do anything.” He pauses, “I understand why people are so concerned, there is a history of large age gaps not being great. But there’s also a history of them working out great, I’ve got plenty of examples in my personal life. Besides, it's not really the age difference that matters, it’s where you're at in life and what you want to come next. We just happen to be in the same place and want the same things to come next.”

The reporter is looking at him stunned before they finally manage to find their voice. “Thank you, Daniel.” “Of course, cheers mate.” He winks, before throwing up a hand to wave at the camera before he jogs off, already knowing that he’ll have a text or two from her calling him a sap over his lovesick grin. And he’d hate to not see them as soon as they came in.

hi it's me the person from like a week ago who's writing that college paper about f1 i was gonna respond and then i immediately forgot lol. the paper is on the different media strategies and narratives of the fia, teams, drivers, gp locations, etc, and how they interact with each other. and also how the ways liberty media and the fia are marketing the sport and drawing in new fans is actually alienating people and suppressing the authenticity of the sport. especially post drive to survive.

also a couple questions: idk how well versed you are in business stuff but how would you say f1 has changed its branding, especially pre liberty media to now? and how were drivers marketed before the era of portraying them as like,, pop stars? when was that shift? also if you have any specific examples (or places i could find examples) related to that stuff or sexism in f1 or just how f1 tries to control the narrative i would appreciate it because jesus christ the lack of research is terrible

aaaaa this got lost in my ask box i hope i’m not too late posting it :/ unfortunately i have no real sources for you. i know the shift was post drive to survive, but i think it also depends on the country because like f1 hasn’t really been a huge Thing in the us, but like ferrari has been italys second religion for years. so it might make sense if you focused it on a country. like in the time since dts first released they added two more us gps: miami (2022) and las vegas (2023). i know there’s a lot of british bias, especially by sky sports and sometimes in the penalties as well. i think fernando alonso called that out this year (?) and max also usually mentions it a few times (at brazil this year he definitely called out the british press) i know there’s also interviews of drivers saying post dts people recognized them way more (maybe this was daniel? or lando?) but some of them really like it (daniel) and some of them don’t (like max) you could also play the angle from social media, like george used to i know at least run his own twitter way back in the day (might have been pre f1 but i think he was still running it loosely in 2019 or at least tweeting himself) and now he doesn’t really touch social media At All cause of the comments he gets. lando used to run most of his own social media also until i think like 2020? 2021? (as in i don’t think he had a social media team) before he passed it off to someone else, though i know he still goes on for sure. i think a lot of them definitely cleaned up their media presence post dts (like lewis was certainly a pr nightmare at one point earlier in his career which a lot of people don’t realize or remember and we’re not even going to talk about fernando alonso). the sport has gotten more tame for sure over the years, they used to get away with doing and saying way more but that could also just be a general cultural shift, there’s also i know pockets of people who are like oh this sport used to be so respectful and manly and blah blah blah and like. there’s photos of michael schumacher at a party in a wedding dress. david coulthard used to pretend to kiss his teammates on the lips in front of the cameras. as for sexism, there have been female drivers before, usually only doing short stints. i know susie wolff has talked about this with the f1 academy how pretty much only lewis consistently shows up to support it. i think max (?) said earlier this year that academy is great but if they want them to make it to f1 they need to give them faster cars. there’s also the whole horner fiasco from earlier this year.

When you finally reach the kitchen, both of you take off the mask to your friends, hugging and making your rounds. Charles grabs you two a drink and you choose to stay there instead of mingling and risking bumping into scary figures.

“Can you get me another of these?” You mouth to Charles pointing at your empty cup. From across the kitchen, he nods, and a few seconds later he’s in front of you with a full cup.

“They were out of ice, is it ok if we share this one?” he asks over the music and you nod. You’re sitting on the counter, and when Charles turns to your friends he stands right between your legs. One of your hands goes to his shoulders, and you keep talking about your costume as if your heart weren’t hammering inside your ribcage, almost coming out from your throat the second his hand finds your knee, holding it so your anxious bounce can cease.

You gulp trying to keep your attention on whatever your friend is talking about because all your mind can focus on is your best friend’s hand on you, his body radiating warmth into yours. And not that it is unusual for Charles to touch it, quite the opposite, he loves to hug and kiss those he cares about, but it’s just lately your heart seemed to wish for a different kind of sharing.

It wants to share the secret touches. It wants to claim hungry kisses, tears of happiness, loud silences, and whispered mysteries. It is as if your heart created a reality where you had all of this with Charles.

and as for seb's departure.. seb's camp immediately shifts their focus towards charles, since they know that seb actually liked him (as person and as driver) and they all see the potential in him (charles has won more races before seb retired). carlos on the other hand... they've heard about him, his whining, the complaints, and compared to charles, he seems difficult to handle

and oh boy... the spanish media? they can talk shit about charles once and the italian's immediately clap back. it's spanish media vs italian media at this point. and sorry to say, but the italian papers have more reach and support

charles is also definitely more loved by the fans, most of carlos fans are former mclaren fans or have spanish blood lmao. the tifosi will support charles first, because they see and know, this one will win.

The Holy Spirit Sent in the Book of Revelation

This is a continuation of my prior 2 posts on the Holy Spirit.

I wrote a post awhile back about the 8th chapter of Revelation. I believe the “half an hour” is the Church Age. “Hour” can be figurative. It would be read better as “half a period of time”.

Revelation 8:1 And when he had opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven about the space of half an hour.

This “half a period of time” is understood through Daniel 9. Jesus was cut off in the midst of the final “week” or “seven”:

Daniel 9:27 And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.

Therefore there is a final “half of week” of “half of seven” or “half an hour”. This is the Church Age and Daniel and Revelation also call this 1260 days or “times time and half a time”. (360 degrees is a full cycle or circle of time, a “seven” of time is 7x360 = 2520, 1260 is half).

There are 7 messengers with 7 trumpets.

A trumpet is an instrument that wind blows through to make a sound. The Holy Spirit is a wind that is to blow through us, God’s instruments, to preach His message of sin and righteousness and judgement. The two silver trumpets from Numbers 10 are a picture of the redeemed Church. I have posted on this in the past.

These 7 messengers with the 7 trumpets are the Spirit filled Church preaching repentance just as John the Baptist filled with the Spirit was called a messenger and preached repentance.

The seventh seal is opened and the “half a period of time” is announced. Next, 7 trumpets are given to the 7 messengers:

Revelation 8:2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

Before they sound there is “another messenger” acting as a priest in heaven. This priest in heaven offers incense then takes fire from the altar and casts it to the earth:

Revelation 8:3-5 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. 5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

As I stated in my first post on the Holy Spirit, the fire from the altar on earth was lit by God from heaven. This fire is a picture of the Holy Spirit. The tabernacle/temple on earth is patterned after the heavenly. Jesus is the High priest officiating in Heaven right now. I believe that He is the messenger of Revelation 8: 3-5 and He is pictured sending the Holy Spirit to us on earth so that the Church may then act as the trumpets of God.

Revelation 8:5 is Bible verse 30833.

Revelation 8:5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

Subtract 7629 verses. (The number 7629 is from my first post). You get John saying Jesus wants to baptize us with the Spirt and fire.

Matthew 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

From my prior 2 posts Lot is the captive and is tied numerically to the “Comforter”. This term is used for the first time in John 14:16 when Jesus says the Father will send the “Comforter” just like Abram sent the 318 trained servants.

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

The above verse is 4148 verses before Revelation 8:5 where Jesus sends the Holy Spirit.

Strong’s H4148 = instruction. It is used in Proverbs 6:23:

Proverbs 6:23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

The gematria of the above verse is 2689. Strong’s H2689 = trumpet

The verse before describes beautifully the work of the Holy Spirit and has a gematria of 4151. Strong’s G4151 = Spirit:

Proverbs 6:22 When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.

The Holy Spirt was given as fire in verse 26953:

Acts 2:3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

This is 3880 verses before Revelation 8:5.

Strong’s H3880 is used 2 times in Proverbs. It is the word “ornament” and it means something attached or joined to. This ornament on our head sounds very similar to the Holy Spirit of Revelation 7 sealing us on our foreheads:

Proverbs 1:9 For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

What is proverbs saying that will be an ornament of grace on our head? Strong’s H4148 = instruction:

Proverbs 1:8 My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

A year ago when I was coming home from school after finishing my exams I started thinking "What would it be like if Edward and Oswald from the Schumacher-burton-verse had a Martin?" And I started thinking about children's characters from the 90s and Kevin Mccallister from Home Alone came to mind.

AND THAT WAS A FANTASTIC IDEA

Because I really imagine this Martin being just as naughty as Kevin, with all those traps and so on, which are always supported by Edward and Oswald (Edward in the mechanical part and Oswald in the part of the jokes and the traps) and it is Max who always falls into those traps, which makes him not very sympathetic to the child.

My idea is that Max convinced Oswald that the image of a family man would make him look better with voters, which led to a marriage to Edward and the adoption of Martin (Max obviously see everything as a business of convenience, but Oswald fell in love with Edward and became attached to Martin as his son).

I think that when Oswald and Edward went to the orphanage, the managers warned them that Martin was a naughty and even dangerous child, but Oswald insisted on giving him a chance and asked him his story, Martín told him that his parents paid him for Christmas (definitely a reference) which made Oswald immediately like Martín and adopt him.

Okay I know this is whole claiming business and its always initiated by the driver,BUT WHAT IF!!?

like what if there’s a driver who isn’t allowed to claim a wife yet, but they already fell in love with someone? like it could be a childhood friend, love at first sight of someone from the team. what then? do they pursue a relationship? what if they are so head over heels for that person that they cant wait to be with them, so they pursue them? would it be unconventional since everybody only claims wives?? would they be allowed to date?? so what would happen if they try to pursue a relationship?

am i making sense?😭

like what if a driver already has someone they love and maybe date before they are allowed to claim. like you cant blame someone for falling in love!!

I mean the drivers do fall in love and enter relationships, get married and have kids without claiming a wife. Just because you get to claim a wife doesn't mean you have to, it's pretty much just an option for you.

And not every driver gets to claim a wife like I said in a previous ask in my verse that I've made. Only certain ones do and just because they get to doesn't mean that they will. Because yeah, they could just fall in love with someone and marry them instead. It's kinda the fun of it, of trying to figure what drivers in my verse would get to claim a wife (besides the obvious, coughs the ones I'm writing) vs the ones who don't. Vettel is a great example of getting to claim a wife, but not using it. Same with Schumacher. Magnussen is a great example of not getting to claim a wife and still marrying, same with Hulkenberg.

Hope this clears that up because I wasn't really thinking about that aspect of it, lol

How is knowing more about a Dick Grayson who's always been one of, if not the, most experienced and competent people in the room whether that room is filled with Justice Leaguers, Titans, supervillains, spies, or any other people highly skilled in crime-related pastimes; who has a well-earned confidence; who has been able to shape his own superhero career even when he was Robin; who is fueled by his fierce love for and desire to protect his friends, in addition to his firm sense of justice and fairness

Supposed to give me a better understanding of Young Justice!Dick, who has rarely ever had real control over his superhero career; who, rather than founding a superhero team with his friends, was PLACED on a team with other kids he mostly didn't know, by the League; who was given orders by the League; who realized he was not the most competent person in the room early on and voted someone else into that leadership role; who only took on the leadership role later when he was much older out of necessity for a long-term secret op; whose entire superhero career has been defined less by achieving successes with his friends, and more by on-going, stacking trauma and only occasionally getting a small win in between much larger, more significant losses; whose sense of justice and fairness is, I would argue, tempered significantly by a fear of fucking up, of hurting people, of losing people?

How is knowing more about a Dick Grayson who was an only child who lost his parents to a racketeering mob boss; who was Bruce's legal ward and grew up with Bruce as both a mentor and father figure; who relied on Bruce to not only teach him how to be a superhero, but to raise him and take care of him, to fill the role of the parents he lost; who was told by Bruce that killing the man who killed his parents would be wrong and took that to heart so strongly that when he thought Bruce might be planning to kill Zucco later, he raced off to stop him; who dated the police commissioner's daughter only to find out later that she's Batgirl

Going to give me any insight into Schumacher-verse!Dick who lost both his parents and an older brother because Two-Face decided to hold up the circus; who was at least old enough to be thinking about applying to colleges when Bruce took him in, creating a dynamic where Bruce was perhaps thinking he was stepping into Dick's father's place, but was actually stepping more into his older brother's place; who was perfectly capable of taking care of himself without Bruce and without his family; who inserted himself at Bruce's side as Robin rather than being recruited or offered the place; who was talked down by Bruce into not killing Two-Face, but then watched Bruce take an action that he had to have known would result in Two-Face's death and watched Two-Face die the same way his family had; who dated Alfred's niece and watched her become Batgirl, helped her even?

Jason and Babs talking candidly about Joker-based PTSD and exchanging tips, tricks, and techniques to deal with it and discuss it with a therapist is Gotham Knights (the game) canon.

Young Justice being founded by Dick, Wally, Kaldur, M'Gann, and Kon is Young Justice canon.

The Titans being founded by Dick, Raven, Cyborg, Starfire, and Beast Boy is Teen Titans/TTG canon.

Dick being old enough to go to college when Bruce takes him in and the Batman and Robin suits having nipples meticulously molded into them is Schumacher-verse canon.

The Joker killing the Waynes and Catwoman having a supernaturally prolonged life because of the sheer power of her Single Cat Lady energy is Burton-verse canon.

Just because something that is not a main-universe, main-timeline published comic book does not comply with the main-universe and/or main-timeline comics does not mean that it's "not canon." It just means that it's not comics canon. Those are two different things! Just like a webcomic and a cartoon and a movie and a live action series and a video game and a comic book are different things!

The comics aren't the only canon and most of the time? They're only barely relevant because, whether you like the adaptation or not, the characters are only based on their comic book equivalents and sometimes bare only a passing resemblance to them.

And frankly every DC comics fan should understand and be fine with this because every single adaptation is an alternate dimension Earth according to comics canon.

No one NEEDS to read the comics to "better understand" the characters in their preferred adaptation.

No one SHOULD read the comics to have a "more well-rounded grasp" of the characters in their preferred adaptation.

I, personally, love (some of) the comics.

But, and I say this so so sincerely, fuck the comics!

Telling a WFA fan that they "should" or "need to" read the comics to better understand the characters is like telling someone they should watch Dr. Who to get a better understanding of Bill & Ted just because Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure was partially formed around Dr. Who's idea of a time traveling telephone booth.

It's like telling a Breath of the Wild/Tears of the Kingdom fan that they need to play the other Zelda games to akshully understand BotW/TotK. Like even though every new game establishes that it's a new version of the story that has little to nothing to do with the previous ones. Even though Nintendo has officially stated that each game is a different incarnation of Link, Zelda, and Ganon, and sometimes they even exist in a completely different timeline. Will playing through Ocarina of Time greatly impact your ability to understand the plot of TotK? No. Will playing through Skyward Sword reveal some fundamental truth about Link, Zelda, and Ganon that was severely affecting your ability to play through BotW? No.

General info

Finnaly got around to writing this thing lol. Feel free to switch out oc's name for your name if you want it to be a self insert. This whole thing is definitely self-indulgent, but feel free to leave suggestions.

She'll be driving for Porsche, their car is mainly yellow and black like a bee with minimal white accents. The suits are yellow with black from the palm of the gloves down the sides. Think Miles Morales spider suit from across the spider-verse but the second color going all the way down to the boots. With a white collar and shoulders.

The main character is a faceless, 20 year old female driver named Snow. She got her driver number with a random number generator.

Sebastian Vettel is a team principal for the new team and adamantly wanted Snow to be one of his drivers. In all honesty he’s still a grid dad/mom/parent.

She wears a motorbike helmet when she has to do anything that relates to f1, partying with the rest of the grid? Helmet. In public with someone from the grid? Helmet or a mask + sunglasses + hat combo.

She trains in the helmet as well to get used to wearing it all the time.

Might upgrade to an LED one that shows facial expressions later on.

She collects mostly motorcycles rather than cars. Her favorite is a custom black Kawasaki Ninja 400 with changeable LED underglow.

She's shy with new people and on camera (in the beginning) but becomes a menace. She is considerate but a feral gremlin nonetheless.

Definitely a yapper of given the chance.

She's shorter than Yuki by 6 cm and he reminds her every time they meet.

She has 0 self-preservation skills, not a single brain cell in that helmet.

When she wants to nap she hides in the weirdest places. She has been found asleep in a tree more than once.

Likes to munch, and is often seen munching on carrots, cucumbers or dried fruits before races. She's not a picky eater, and would try exotic fruits for fun.

Has a sibling relationship with most of the grid, a dad relationship with Sebastion, and an uncle with Lewis, Valtteri, Sergio, and Fernando.

Dark Gen Z humor and energy to the max.

Trauma? Yes.

Self-deprecation? Master class.

Secret emotional support stuffed animal? Yes.

Where are her parents? She doesn't have any. She just materialized into existence. At least, that's what she says.

Her warm-ups are balance exercises with juggling.

Before races, she gives everyone in her team helmet kisses/headbutts as an endearing ‘thanks in advance’ or a ‘let’s do well, good luck’.

Afterward, she will full on headbutt drivers if they have their helmets on or a helmet kiss if they don't, as a ‘congratulations you did it’ or ‘a you did well’.

OMG. long story but im road tripping iceland and rn we’re basically on the very north, driving this motorhome through heavy winds, rain and even a bit of snow now, while hearing an oktoberfest playlist (bear in mind, i am not german nor do i speak german). so very unusual scenario here.

in the middle of a song i recognize the word schazti. (because of course i do, i am well versed in german drivers/hockey players rpf and therefore german terms of endearment) and i had to keep myself from laughing out loud about it, but i just pictured myself telling my friends (who speak german and are very much NOT in this part of the internet) why i knew the word.
