The School Trip: Ch 1- Bus Trip

"Mason, you gotta put that under the bus." Jason says, as Mason attempts to carry his full duffle bag through the door of the bus.
"But it's got all my stuff in it?"
"Yeah, all our stuff is under there. It'll be fine." He sees the boy's arms stiffen around the bag, "And how's cherry going to sit next to you with your bags taking up the room?"
"Good point, sir."
"Nice work," you smile, nudging Jason in the.arm, "thought we'd have to travel with his smelly socks for a second there."
"Unlucky for you, you gotta sit next to my stinky socks the whole way instead." Jason jokes, enjoying the way your nose crinkles at the thought. It’s a small thing, but fuck its cute. This is going to be a long ass weekend, hopefully he can get to know you a bit better. He’s tried over the last few months since you started at his school, but there was always something pulling him away, whether it be curious kids asking questions or the need to get out and get home as soon as possible, there was always something. But now he’s got 3 nights and nearly 4 whole days to get to know the cute science teacher who always seems so much cleverer than him. One thing he knows for certain, something you always seem open to talk about is your cats, Rex and Cody. He’s seen pictures of the Russian Blue and the Orange kitties on your desk and it was the second thing he ever knew about you.
Zoning back into reality as you try to usher him further onto the bus, before trying to push past him, "how are the cats going to cope without you for a few days?" he asks, not wanting to get into his interrogation of all your interests too early on.
"They'll be good. I've got a friend staying with them."
"A boyfriend?" Jason's eyes stare at your feet as you hop on the bus in front of him. He wants to look at your ass, it looks so good in those fucking jeans, but this is a work trip and he's so thankful that there's 30 fucking kids between you to keep him distracted. He just wants to get to know you, he tells himself, to make a new friend. He had so few friends in the staff, it wouldn’t be appropriate at all.
"Nah, my bestie. She's really cool." You smile as you take your seat at the front of the bus, the loud noise of thirty mouths going at once clogging your ears, "I think you'd like her."
"If she's anything like you-" he's cut off by a loud f bomb called out from the back of the bus and Jason's curiosity dies as Mr Todd rises in his chest.
"Yo! Young people!" You call before Jason even has a chance to stand up, "Mr Todd here is an old soul, so how bout we keep the F bombs to a hushed whisper, yeah?" A quiet sigh of 'yes miss' spread through the seats. "Maybe give him the illusion that the science program isn't running a meth lab?"
"Don't tell him that miss," Keira calls from the middle.
"He'll want a cut of our profits," Jayda laughs.
"Don't cross her, she'll make us do essay's." Andrew sniggers crouched behind a seat.
When their quiet charter starts up again, you turn to sit back down noticing Jason talking to the driver behind you.
"We're ready to go." Jason taking his seat next to you, his legs bunched up, the small confines of the front seat not enough for his massive legs. You try not to think about sitting next to him, about his wide frame nudging you as you bounce along, the long highway towards Central City. You need a distraction, something else to think about and not how his arms look under that fucking cardigan.
"Awesome, can't wait to spend my weekend with these delinquents."
"You're really good with them, you know."
"It's not hard. They're good kids."
"Some of them," he peers around, catching Theo pulling something from his bag.
"Nah, all my kids are great."
The driver pulls from the curb and you push into your handbag, pulling out a book.
"Can I ask you something?" Jason leans over, whispering in your ear.
""You can."
"Are you really selling meth with the kids?"
"Why? You a narc?"
"No. I just- you just- you said and i-"
"Dude chill," you slap him playfully with your book, "you don't need to be so serious."
"So should I read this instead?" He jokes, taking in the risque cover of the book, over the dark fae and his barely dressed companion, "how does a Misty Door work?"
"Shhh." You hush him, snatching the book back, "they think I enjoy reading science journals, don't blow my cover."
"Your secret's safe with me."
4 hrs and 1 nap later.
"Ok, people. We're at our stops for the night. Dinner will be at 6 and Miss has your room keys. Don't wander too far and try not to light anything on fire."
"Try our best." Keira calls out, giving him a wave as the kids start to grab their things and pile from the bus.
"Watch this." You smile at him, your hand wrapping around his bicep as a reflex to get him to stop. But then he looks down at you and you feel your heart start to race, shit. You shouldn’t have touched him. Now he’s looking at you like he’s got a bug on his arm, “Sorry,” you pull your arm away and he ducks back under the bus, "Todd, you're missing it!" you turn from him, not wanting to miss the display yourself. You heard a thud behind you and turn to see him rubbing at a spot on his head, what the fuck was he doing?
He can feel his face heating up, his heart is racing and all you did was have a hand on him. What is going on with him today? Couldn't be the way you let out little snores when you fell on him as you passed through the forest or the delight at how dirty your books are. Calm, calm down, a friend, yeah. She's just being friendly, he convinced himself, but when you call him he can help but respond. Maybe a bit too quickly, "What? What did I miss?"
"Look." You tilt your head towards the crowd of girls, "look what they're doing." You raise your brows in the direction of the young women, trying to get him to notice.
"What are they doing?"
"Just watch."
The girls each walk into the grassy park area near the hotel, each one pulling out a notebook.
"What's in those bags?" Jason asks, noticing how they're laying them in front of them.
"Magic." you nudge him, gently, trying to keep to yourself after the way he reacted to your touch before. "they're doing-"
"Magic? Really? Are they going to turn us into worms?'
"You still wanna hang out with me if I was a worm?"
"Don't think I got much choice. You're the only other adult I know in this city."
"Not for long. We're about to meet the hotel clerk and grab everyone's room keys."
"Yeah, I'm sure she'd be a hoot to hang out with “ he gestures towards the older looking woman behind the counter, the light pink and blue cardigan wrapped over her shoulders and the long pearl string connected to her glasses.
"You never know. She might be a secret spy."
"Now that would be impressive.
“Wouldn't it? She'd look killer in a catsuit and heels.”
“OK, you ruined it.”
“Nah, I made it better.”
“Keep telling yourself that.”
“I will, cheers. Now let's go sort this shit out.”
“Lead the way.”

Dp x DC: Mind Traveller
Okay do y'all remember the old trope in DP fics of "Danny get's hurt by a ghost/machine and is now in a coma like state, the only way of getting him to wake up is to go inside his mind and meet different aspects of Danny's personality (sometimes it's looking through his memories)"
Okay yeah that but! Make it Dp x DC!
Maybe a war has broken out between the GZ and the GIW, conflicting information is being given to the JL from both sides, and so far their stuck between a rock and a hard place.
On one hand there's a whole species and town throwing allegations towards a Government organization about kidnapping, torture and experimentation.
Then there's the Ghost Investigation Ward saying they've been working withing legal limits, and haven't done anything wrong. It's not breaking the Meta Protection acts due to none of the "affected" having the Meta gene, and therefore not counting as a Meta.
Most GIW subjects had not survived when it had came to light, those who had "lived" could not come out of the Ghost Zone because of how fragile their cores had become, and everything was still too risky to send someone over on uncharted territories to get their statement.
The one option they had was a young boy they had found, although he was in a coma and hadn't woken up in weeks. The situation was getting more and more dire as the public and ghosts grew restless with every day that passed.
Martian Manhunter spoke to Danny while he was in his coma, however he was only able to access surface entry due to unknown reasons. This was enough to talk to the boy however, and gain permission to enter his mind and find out more about the situation they had all landed themselves into.
With written consent from both of Danny's parent's a small group of 3 JL members along with Jazz, Sam and Tucker ( who came along to clean up any confusion or questions they might have) journeyed into the mind of the young boy, not realising they are about to witness the rise and fall of a hero who was born to young.

My favorite fics are soft andriel, and teen andriel.
Here’s my recs:
Raised on little light by maqicien
Falling is a lot like drowning by chaoticas_hell
This wasn’t in the prophecy (series) by Arirmis
(Account locked) Raise me up so you can watch me fall by Yes_No_ofcourse
And this last one is angst and dark but I do love it
Hiding scars under exy gear By rinz
Wow, that’s a lot of recs in one submission!  Usually we just get one or two 🤣. - S
You can find some of those fics here:
‘Raised on Little Light’ here (since updated)
‘Falling Is A Lot Like Drowning’ here (since updated)
‘Raise me up so you can watch me fall’ here (locked, now complete)
This wasn’t in the prophecy by Arirmis [Rated T/M, 73294 words, incomplete, last updated Feb 2024]
Percy Jackson AU where all of the foxes are demigods, Andrew meets Neil shortly after his mom dies, and joins him on the run instead of going back to camp. Part one spans from their first meeting to their first kiss; Part two will take place a few years later, when certain circumstances force them to return to camp, and Andrew has to deal with what he left behind, on top of their current problem. While both fics should be able to be read individually, it does make more sense if you read them in order :)
Part 1:  Cross your fingers, here we go (T, 25037 words, complete)
Millport is a horrible, dry as fuck little town in the vast nothingness of the dust hole that is Arizona, and Andrew hates it with vigor.  He has been tracking a horde of Manticores for weeks now, and isn’t that something? A half-blood having to chase after the monsters. He is starting to feel like one of Renee’s hunters, when Andrew is pretty sure the nasty scorpion-cats should want to kill him more then he wants to kill them.  Or, Andrew expected to find all sorts of things on his first quest. He didn’t expect a twitchy, blue-eyed half-blood with monsters on his heels, and he surely didn’t expect to fall in love with him.
tw: implied/referenced child abuse, tw: implied/referenced rape/non-con, tw: implied/referenced torture, tw: implied/referenced self harm, tw: child neglect, tw: assumed character death
Part 2: Mortal Bodies, Timeless Souls (M, 48257 words, incomplete)
„Minyard! Get your ass up and put some armor on! Abby, Greene, get the infirmary in shape, border control just spotted a motherfucking Drakon in the woods!“ As if Wymack’s order triggered it, a ear grating screech echoes all the way to the big house. The camp counselor curses. „Move it people, there are half-bloods out there that need to get to safety!“  Or, for two and a half years, Aaron has been grieving the brother he buried, only to learn now, that Andrew is very much alive. He also has a scarred little shithead in tow, that Aaron wants to punch in the face regularily. Life is fun like that.
tw: blood, tw: violence, tw: implied/referenced child abuse, tw: implied/referenced rape/non-con, tw: implied/referenced torture, tw: implied/referenced self harm, tw: child neglect, tw: assumed character death, tw: vomit
Hiding scars (under exy gear) by rinz [Rated M, 34309 words, incomplete, last updated March 2024]
Juggling a mobster serial killer household and high school is harder than Neil had anticipated. and that goth kid on the roof really needs to mind his own business. OR a high school AU where neil and mary never run from nathan and neil meets the foxes in private high school instead.
tw: implied/referenced child abuse, tw: implied/referenced rape/noncon, tw: implied/referenced self harm, tw: imlied/referenced torture, tw: graphic violence

i can’t commit to another 200,000 word fanfiction but i’m always tempted to write my own x-files season nine where i essentially get rid of all the plots and just have mulder and scully as parents who occasionally solve x files (while the lone gunmen babysit william).

Hullo! Peter and his class/acadec team are in Washington DC and they're riding the subway but somehow Peter misses the train, so he's hanging out at the station waiting for the next one and there is a terrorist attack and the station collapses. He's with this park ranger (?) and they're trying to keep each other calm but I think she dies? I remember at the end (or the middle?) Tony comes flying in as Iron Man into the emergency triage tent they have for people dug out of the rubble. Thanks!
Sorry for the wait! This is for you!
Perfect Pandemonium by Angelina_Aintithenniel
The trip to Washington DC was supposed to be an educational stress relief and an attempt to “connect with state officials and American history while learning about the democratic process.” So how did it all end up going so terribly wrong? Or Peter tries to survive his school trip to DC turning into a nightmare. Again. And Tony? Well, Tony just wants the kid to make it through this alive.

Yeah, waiting is a pain. I also liked it better when I was catching up all those months ago.
It'd be amazing if he still looked like Yuuji in his domain, it'd be such a nice reminder of Yuuji's soul being stronger than his.
And I feel you regarding Sukuna and hating him as a person in canon while enjoying him as a character. That's why I write SukuIta actually, to make him make it up to Yuuji. And also to torment him a bit. XD
Well I have exactly one (1) SukuIta fic which I write because I read another fic in which people thought they were father and son (Was with OG Suku) and I thought "A dynamic between them that could be seen as a very fucked up father-son relationship sounds interesting! I wanna write that!"
And here we are

Once I actually done with that final paper I don't wanna write, I can continue with the fic and get into SPICE ~ <3

Going through the Utahim.e tag had me checking several times if at some point I had clicked on the G.ojo/Utahim.e one instead
#It's mainly the ship and mainly ship art. Very pretty btw. There's people with gorgeous styles there#There isn't even a lot of x reader fics haha I guess people don't want to bang Utahime?#Anyway... lowkey wished this happened with Ijichi lol#I so wanted Ijichi to mention or even hint at a mention of Gojo one last time like they did with Nanami#If nothing else for the weight of it all. The weight of feeling your youth dying piece by piece alongside the people who made it out#And everything it implies#Art of Shoko dealing with Gojo's death even in a cold way always strikes hard for that motive but I always love it#with pretty much everyone of those years. There was one piece I saw once that was not explicitly or necessarily romantic about Utahime#being hit by Gojo's death and I don't recall exactly how it was (I think I may have queued it?)#but it moved me more than any piece more clearly emotional that I had seen before#I don't know. I thought it held the potential of that. That weird uncomfortable heartbreaking feeling#of hearing bad news about old friends or classmates and how it makes you realise the weight of time#They suffered and accident. They tried to kill themselves. They are very sick. Their sibling or parent died. And you knew these people#You saw them daily for years. Maybe you weren't close but you knew these people. They cut my bangs when I was eight and I punched them#I tripped over them playing hide and seek and we both lost at the same time. We both hated each other's favourite teacher#They borrowed my pen once and then never gave it back. I once drenched them at the fountain after PE and it was winter but they laughed#Their mother got mad though. Now she's dead. We were made to sit together in French class in middle school. They loved to keep their hair l#Now they're sick and have lost their hair#Their little sibling was so annoying always trying to make us play with them during recess too. It was kinda cute. Now they're dead#I don't know. That kind of stuff#Utahime boosts Gojo and then he dies. Shoko opens him up to make a tool of his body#Ijichi accompanies another kid to clean after him in the meanwhile. And then the realisation hits. He is dead#He was annoying. He was my friend. He was so rude#He had such a sweet tooth. He laughed so loudly. He used to lean over people when talking with them#We were kids once. We are here now. He isn't here anymore. Some of us haven't been here anymore for a long while. It's been so long#He was still young. I am still young. We felt so old. At times it feels as if the time back then didn't happen at all.#And now he's dead and oh it's true he was so annoying but he also had such a sweet tooth. I forgot. What do I do with this memory now?#At times it felt as if the time back then didn't happen at all but then at times it shone through. He brought it back#He asked me a favour knowing I wouldn't betray his secret. He still teased the same way. He still leaned on people. But now he's dead#I don't know if I'm explaining myself well xD I think it's a pretty common emotion when it happens.Oh I forgot to censore words again sorry

CACKLES IN GLEE AT BONE OPENING THE ASKBOX
you don't have to post this I just wanna say like I love your live readings of books, it's like bread and butter at an outback steakhouse. It's going outside, cracking open a soda and watching your neighbor try to cultivate a garden out of what has been left (which is invasive wisteria and probably kudzu) and watch them shake a rake at the sky and curse the old owners of the elaborate and dilapidated mansion of what they have left you to deal with. It's probably a haunted house, too.

So incredibly pleased to see fans sexualizing not just old men but fat old men!
Something inside me just sings to know that Pat from BBC Ghosts could inspire such a large amount of lovingly crafted pornography on AO3!
As a fat fellow who hopes very much to be a fat old man myself someday, what a gift!!

Tide Pool Adventures
“You cannot eat a raw jellyfish.” Evie says firmly. “We share one bathroom, and I am not skipping my skincare routine just because you decided to eat the ocean and  gave yourself food poisoning.”
“Maybe the jellyfish should be your new skincare routine,” Mal says thoughtfully. “It looks soft and slimy enough.”
“Gross. I don’t want to put things you pulled out of the ocean on my face.”
“Or in your mouth, apparently.” Mal teases. She’s in an unexpectedly good mood. The beach, which she’d expected to be bright and sunny and full of cheery tourists, is instead slightly overcast and full of interesting things that have washed up right by the edge of the water. There’s an intriguing amount of slime in a series of pools that’ve formed under the wooden dock, and she’s got a plastic bucket that was definitely intended for children and a vague plan to gather a bunch of slime to dump on the boys later.
“I don’t want to put anything you haven’t cleaned with soap in my mouth.” Evie says, wrinkling her nose at the thought. “And that includes you, M. We really need to stay somewhere with a shower soon.”
“Aww, you don’t love my natural scent?” Mal says brightly. She’s still got the dead jellyfish in one hand. It’s really fun to touch. Maybe if she can put some sort of preservation spell on it, they’ll be able to fit it somewhere in the truck.
Evie takes a subtle step away from Mal’s jellyfish hand. “I love so many things about you, and the fact that you sweat more than most grown men I know is not one of them.”

20. Cramping Pain
After the morning's excitement and drama of Finn’s seizure on the orienteering course, the rumours had started to fly. By lunchtime, Jess had had enough of the hushed whispers and sideways glances as their friendship group walked through. Of course, Finn had yet to return, quite happily asleep curled under Fao's duvet with Lion and a hot water bottle, but from the rumours, he could have been abducted by aliens.
While the plan had been for Finn to return to the group after lunch, the weather had ended up calling off most of the activities. In the end, the organisers ended up putting a film on in the sport's hall, allowing the kids to mill about or watch it, letting them have a little freedom. Jess had managed to convince them to let her go see Finn, aware he wouldn't deal with the noise of the sports hall, and so spent the first half of the movie sitting in Fao's room with him. She was glad of the peace and quiet, a headache starting and just generally feeling snappy and on edge. It couldn't last forever, and she begrudgingly returned to the sports hall, keeping herself to herself.
She was glad of bedtime, happily snuggling under the duvet and hoping the next day would be better. Of course, life was never simple (as she'd often learned with Finn), and she woke in the middle of the night with the all too familiar cramps. She couldn't help the flare of panic, quickly scrambling up out of bed and running to the toilet, hoping she was wrong.
Unfortunately, she wasn't. Hand pressed to her mouth, she tried her best not to cry, overwhelmed and frustrated. She'd only had two before, and she hadn't expected to start while she was away, so she had nothing, completely unprepared. Trying to calm herself down, she took a few minutes to clean herself up and tried to come up with a plan. The teacher by their dorm was far from her favourite, and she didn't really trust them enough to tell them. The only adult she did trust on the trip was Fao, but he was at the other end of the corridor.
As much as she tried to gain the courage to knock on the other teacher's door, she just couldn't bring herself to do it. She'd much rather get in trouble for going to Fao a million times over. Mind made up, she grabbed her hoodie and trainers, and quietly slipped out, padding down the corridor to Fao's room and knocking quietly.
Fao slept lightly, he always had done, and when he heard the knock on the door he stirred, sitting up with a groan and flicking his bedside light on.
“One second!” He called softly. It was probably Finn, either feeling shitty or having had a bad dream, but he threw on a hoodie regardless, padding over to the door.
When he opened it, the last thing he expected was to see Jess standing there, and he frowned.
“Jess? Are you alright?”
She glanced around. "Can I come in please?"
He stepped back from the door. “Yeah, of course.”
Jess perched on the edge of the bed that was obviously not Fao's, fidgeting with the sleeves of her hoodie and staring at the floor.
“Is everything okay?”
She took a shaky breath. "No. I've started bleeding and I didn't know and I didn't think I would and I don't know what to do!"
He softened. “Oh, sweetie.” He murmured. “Your period? I can go and wake Miss Smith if you want?”
Her nod quickly changed into a shake. "No, not her."
“Okay, not her.” He said. “Is it your first time? Do you have any things with you?”
"I didn't bring anything." She couldn't help the tears that started to fall. "Dad bought me some stuff last time but it hurts and I've not got anything and it's going to get everywhere."
“Right. First thing’s first, let’s dry those tears.” Fao said, offering her a tissue. “You can give this guy a cuddle, too. I won’t tell anyone.” He reached into his bed for his little Eeyore, passing him to her.
"Thank you." She took him gratefully, clutching him tightly.
“There’s some things in the first aid box, but I don’t have it here. Do you want to go and get yourself some fresh underwear, and if you wait outside the girl’s toilets I’ll bring you some stuff. Then we’ll go and get a hot chocolate and I can get you some paracetamol.”
"Thank you, Fao." She managed a small smile.
“It’s okay. You can take Eeyore with you if you want.”
Her smile widened. "Thank you.
“He’s a good companion, just don’t tell the others, yeah?” He offered her a grin.
"I won't." She stood, quickly giving him a hug before disappearing off to get sorted.
He slipped out of his room, to the little staff room where they kept the first aid kit, and made a note of what he was taking, as he’d been told to do. He couldn’t help but feel sorry for Jess, she’d had a shit day and this was only making things worse for her, but he was glad she’d trusted him enough to come to him. He was quiet as he headed to the girl’s toilets, waiting for Jess outside.
Jess wasn't long, clutching both Eeyore and a bag to her chest. She greeted Fao with a small smile, trying to pretend things were more okay than they were.
“Here, I got you a few bits and pieces, though I’m not the best person to explain them all. Take it all, use whatever you need, and then we’ll go get that hot chocolate.”
She took them gratefully, swapping the supplies for Eeyore. Her father had actually been decent in his explanations and education, and she was quietly confident as she cleaned herself up further. She put the spares in her bag, alongside her dirties wrapped in plastic bag, and headed to meet Fao. The promise of hot chocolate and paracetamol had already helped, along with Fao's reaction and support, of course.
He met her outside, giving her a supportive smile, and then led the way to the staff room. He pushed the door open, propping it open with a door stop, and flicked the lights on. “Get comfy on the sofas, I’ll get these paracetamol for you and put the kettle on. Do you want eeyore back?”
Jess hesitated, giving a small nod as she took Eeyore. As mature as she often acted, the small stuffed animal was comfort for all of them, and the fact Fao had offered it to her meant the world. She settled on the sofa, pulling a pillow across her stomach and curling up.
He put the kettle on, waiting for it to boil as he sorted out the tablets. “Right, here’s the paracetamol, and here’s some water. If that doesn’t help the cramps you can have some ibuprofen too, but try the paracetamol first.” He said, handing both the tablets and the water to her. She looked so small, curled up on the sofa, and it broke his heart. She acted so mature, but really she was just a kid, and it was no fun being on your period away from home. He made her a hot chocolate, a tea for himself, and passed her the mug. “Here you go. Careful, it’s hot.”
She rubbed her eyes before taking the mug in both hands, holding onto it for a moment. "Thanks, Fao."
“It’s okay. Do you want to go back to bed?”
"Can I wait for the paracetamol to work please?"
“Yeah, of course you can.” He said, sitting down on the sofa with her, hands curled around his own mug.
"I'm sorry for waking you up." She murmured.
“Don’t be. I’m glad you did, there’s no use in suffering in silence.”
"I didn't know who else to go to." She admitted. "I didn't want to go to the teachers, because it's embarrassing."
“Not too embarrassing to tell your boyfriend’s big brother, though.” He teased. “I get it, but there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. It’s just life.”
"It is embarrassing." She pushed, taking a sip. "And you're like my big brother, you're family."
“I’m glad you think so. You can always come to me, for anything, yeah?”
"Thank you." They sat in comfortable silence for a few minutes, drinking their hot drinks. The paracetamol hadn't really done anything, the pain grating on her despite everything. Her lip trembled as she turned to Fao, hating herself. "Fao? Do you have any of Finn’s hot things?"
He frowned, turning to her. “Yeah, I do. Still sore?”
She nodded. "I'm sorry I'm being a pain."
“You’re not being a pain at all. They’re in my room, I’ll go and grab you one.” He said, standing up and setting his tea down on the side. He wasn’t long at all, nipping to his room, and was back within a few moments, holding one of Finn’s disposable heat packs. “Here we go. Do you know how to use it?”
"Thank you." She took it carefully. "I've done them for Finn before."
“Perfect. Should help with those cramps.”
"I'm sorry for causing such a fuss." She put her mug on the side as she sorted the heat pack out, pressing it onto her top under her hoodie. Frustrated and tired, she quietly curled up on the sofa, hoping the heat would finally help.
“Hey, no. No need to be sorry, it’s what I’m here for.” He said gently.
She sniffed, rubbing her eyes. "Not in the middle of the night."
“Especially in the middle of the night.”
"I'm meant to be asleep and fine."
“It happens. I know I’m here because of Finn but I’m looking after everyone, yeah?”
She nodded. "It means a lot."
“Can I do anything else to help?”
"I don't know." She admitted, thinking. "Last time, Finn rubbed my back and that helped. He was really good, just like you've been."
“He’s good really, eh?” Fao said softly, reaching out to rub her back.
"Thank you." She hummed in appreciation. "He gets a lot of crap, but he doesn't deserve it, not really."
“Mostly from me, but that’s what brothers are for.”
That made her laugh. "He loves you."
“Doesn’t mean we don’t give each other shit.”
"I wish I was as close with my brother as you two are." She sighed, the pain finally starting to shift.
“Finn and I are so close because he tried to die on me.”
"We weren't that hurt." She shrugged. "I don't remember it, but he does."
Fao hummed. “You might get closer again when you get older.”
"He thinks I'm a stupid girl." She laughed.
He laughed. “Us men are the stupid ones.”
"Sheila agrees." She murmured sleepily.
“Because she knows everything.”
"She does."
