something something patrick having no one he can trust, and eliza having no one who trusts her. eliza struggling with the people skills and smooth talking necessary to succeed in business that come naturally to patrick and patrick struggling with the honesty and moral compass that are necessary to run a good and ethical business that are innate to eliza. them tempering each other and inspiring each other to do better but also genuinely liking each other as they are, while most people find them both irritating. the way they seem like polar opposites and come at things from completely different angles when they in fact share the same ambitions, world views, and long term goals. the romantic arc is right there.

also, as i’ve come back to this account i’ve also finally gone back to the miss scarlet fandom (my longtime favorite) and i cannot believe how many people there are shipping scarnash now???? i’ve been silently active in this fandom since season 2 was airing and then i took a break from it after season 3 just because my life got too busy, and i come back and there’s fan edits, a ship name, fanfiction??? when i left there was quite literally nothing and now there’s like a whole community im actually so happy

Yes, firmly agree it will work out in the end! Patrick was absolutely happy for a minute there, but I think without Michael's death avenged it wouldn't have been enough, just as Eliza, for a minute there was happy, but without her name above the door, it won't have been enough. The finale events were devasting, but also absolutely necessary.

Nash & Sons was about Michael's legacy and Patrick revenge. With the resolution of his brother's murder, Patrick doesn't need it anymore. I once read about Patrick that he single-minded and relentless at what he does, and want he does it being a private detective. It is not however the calling to him, that it is to Eliza. For that reason I suspect his goals will shift to being Eliza's partner and husband. I think his priority won't be having his name on the door, it will be convincing Eliza's she would be happy married to him and that is more than enough challenge for any man.

I just had the thought that in season 4, Patrick gets everything he wants for a brief moment- Eliza works with him at Nash & Sons. They’re solving cases together!

And then he gets arrested 😭😭😭 devastating.

My hopeful thought is Eliza isn’t meant to work at Nash & Sons. She’s meant to have her name above the door too, and Patrick can work with her at her/their agency. So Patrick getting arrested allows for that to eventually happen so maybe it’ll all work out in the end.

I can’t wait to see what they do together in Season 5.

Ya know, I'd love to have seen Eliza and Patrick's breakfast date in season 3 episode 3, because there are so many questions it raises. Plus, I'm perhaps too interested in the mundane, it just really showcases a character's personality.

I'd love for some of the many talented ao3 writers to write and share their own interpretations, because I'm nosy.

Now, onto the questions:

What do they eat? Where? How long do they stay? Do they order in English or French? Do they even speak French? How well?

Does this also mean they returned to London together? Perhaps on a train? (I just love trains)

Do they have vulnerable moments? Does Eliza fall asleep in Patrick's presence? (Preferably on Patrick's shoulder, though I really doubt it. I believe she mentions she's tired, and Patrick probably was too.) Are they mistaken for a married couple? Is this when they start the 'married couple' act they do in season 4? Whose idea is it to go along with the scheme?

Does William find out about their shenanigans? How does he react? Same two questions for Ivy.

I just have too many questions. xd
