My head canon -

• He's definitely had his fair share of ladies (I mean c'mon! 🥵) so he knows what he likes and wants ...

• Though we know he's professionally curious when he had her investigated, I think once he physically meets her, he is ALSO physically attracted.

• However I think that actually he is more impressed and attracted (more than physically) to her during the course of the investigation, but is fully invested after the doorstep meeting.

For me this links back to "I do love a challenge" as a metaphor for his growing "love" for Eliza "the challenge".

Challenge 1: Earning her 'trust'; and first name terms.

Challenge 2: Him being and having her think him a 'good person' which links into...

Challenge 3: Being a gentleman and biding his time waiting until she is ready.

I’ve been wondering about the progression of Patrick’s feelings about/for Eliza. What do you think it was like? When did he fall in love with her? Is he?? Was he always? Is there a moment you point to, or a series of moments? Any hesitation on his part?

I have some of my own thoughts but am dying to know everyone else’s head canons. I also really love @blacklister214’s fanfic (Honesty and Codology on ffn) which gives us a glimpse into Patrick’s psyche in a unique way.

I also loved the comment from @soendgame saying Patrick was very aware of Duke and wouldn’t want to pressure Eliza as long as that situation was going on.

Anyway I’ve been thinking about it a lot and I know others think about it too so I want to know 😂
