Below patient photo shows 7 weeks following Sciton erbium laser resurfacing to enhance a Mohs scar on the right upper lip, notable improvements have been observed, particularly in addressing wrinkles and refining the overall texture of the treated area. The Sciton erbium laser is known for its precision and efficacy in promoting skin rejuvenation by removing damaged layers and stimulating collagen production.
In addition to scar enhancement, the treatment has also demonstrated a positive impact on right upper lip wrinkles. The erbium laser's ability to resurface the skin has effectively minimized fine lines and wrinkles in the treated area, providing a more youthful and refreshed look. The laser promotes collagen synthesis, which plays a crucial role in maintaining skin elasticity and suppleness, further contributing to the reduction of wrinkles.
Setup a consultation with Dr. Ron Shelton if you are interested in scar treatment.

have you ever got any cosmetic work done (surgical/non-surgical)? what is your beauty maintenance routine? what are some stuff that wealthier ppl know about that most don’t regarding beauty/skin/hair/hygiene/diet/fitness? sorry it’s so many questions. i love your blog so much btw I’ve learned a lot from you :)🩷
nope, never had surgery or anything too invasive. I really don’t need it haha, losing weight, fixing my skin and growing my hair out did wonders for me. I’ve had collagen pumped into my skin for some acne scars I had but that was a useless procedure, this is back when I was 18. I’ve done exilis and em sculpt which I’ve mentioned below, I’ve gotten laser done (useless), I had IVs for semaglutide (useless). I think that’s about it.
beauty maintenance routine:
wax every 1.5 months
thread and wax my face every Sunday
face masks 2x week
hair mask 1 x week
high frequency if I feel like my skin needs a push (I have a wand at home)
gel polish every month
minoxidil for hair growth
I FaceTime my dermat once a month or once in two months
things that wealthy people do that normally people don’t know about… the problem is that everything is public these days. Any Jane can get filler and collagen therapy now and in certain elitist families, there is a sense of disdain about that. Beauty is a competition, it’s a very hush hush business and most try to be as discreet as possible.
I’ve seen lots of nose jobs and chin jobs that these younger girls get done in their late teens or early 20s to improve their prospects for fame (very common in the entertainment families). But with legacy family businesses, among the older women, it will be one of two extremes- a horrible face lift and smudged make up or all natural face yoga and black magic that they swear by. Baby Botox is also huge with the younger wives but they never get it done in India, they always go to LA/ NYC / and absolute worst case Dubai. You really cannot afford to be 35 and botched. The reality is that with huge legacy families what you don’t have is time. Time for recovery I mean, because for those few months you cannot be seen publicly. For most families this is impossible- there are constant engagements, philanthropic activities (PR), weddings and parties to attend - so whatever they get done, they ensure that the down time is very very short. That’s also why most of them have consistent “natural” wellness routines like getting massages weekly. emsculpt and exilis are a big secret (I’ve done both). I’m writing a blog post about it in real time. Downtime is zero. A lot of women also get exilis done for their vaginas to make it tighter.
I have cousins who have MUAs on a retainer basis. Regardless of how big or small the event is, they ensure that they’re looking glam at all times if they’re going to be socialising. I personally think that’s insane and I’m very good at my beating my face so I never resorted to doing this for every occasion but yes this is common.
diet - I’ll be honest, most girls will very rarely touch food. If we’re going out for dinner we normally go for Japanese because it’s a little lighter. They smoke/ vape a lot which in turn suppresses appetite.
what I plan to get done soon:
acne scar treatment (I have very slight scarring only on one cheek because I sleep on my side)
hydrafacial
ultrasound for double chin (I don’t have a crazy double chin but I do want my face to be a little more snatched without fillers and Botox)
Things I know I will get done at some point:
PRP facials
micro needling
emsculpt again (like before my wedding whenever that happens)
Botox just in between my eyebrows because I frown when I’m listening
some treatment for my laugh lines at some point in my life
tbh the best beauty tip I can give you is start working out young. I’ve seen so many women not go back to their pre-baby weight, struggle with their health which inevitably fucks with your appearance, and try all sorts of stupid things when they could literally just start working out and watch their body transform in a few months.
also, don’t get fillers done impulsively. It looks ridiculous unless you have the right doc and 8/10 times you don’t. try to stick to your ethnicity as much as possible. As an Indian, the closest inspo for me is Middle Eastern because I have similar features (full brows, full lips and big eyes). But if I try getting Korean style plastic surgery I’m going to look daft.

Idea: Sanctuary (Daredevil)
Tumblr media
Last one, I promise. At least until the muses give me more ideas through I'm hoping they actually let me write finish something before piling more work on me.
Brainstorming notes where any feedback or suggestions are welcomed.
Warnings: Spoilers for The Defenders - Angst with eventual comfort - Medical inaccuracies - Beginning of Season 3 Matt.
Sanctuary
Matt Murdock / Daredevil x Reader
Possible Ch. Titles: John Doe – Where There Is Life – HIPPA Violation – Do No Harm – Confession
You are a doctor who works at small charity clinic.
One day, as you are heading home, you are stopped by Father Lantom.
Not sure how you know him – maybe you are Catholic and starting attending Mass after moving to NYC.
Father Lantom asks you for a favor. There is someone who needs a doctor but you can’t take him to a hospital or tell anyone about him.
This request gives you some misgivings but you trust the priest and figure that he wouldn’t be asking this of you if it wasn’t necessary or important. So you agree to his terms.
He takes you to where your patient is:
(1) Still in the St. Agnes as it was in canon but tucked away somewhere out of the way.
(2) In the basement since they seem to want to keep Matt’s presence a secret and keeping someone in a building full of kids isn’t how you keep them a secret.
John Doe is half-naked, unconscious, and badly hurt. He should be in a hospital but they are adamant about not taking him. You wonder who is this man is but Father Lantom and Sister Maggie claim not to really know, that they found him like that but you aren’t sure you believe them.
Maybe you have some kind of healing power – the power is relatively minor, you can boost someone’s natural healing ability – cannot instantly and completely heal someone’s wounds or illnesses but you can heal enough to turn a deadly injury into a survivable one. Lessen the recovery time – you heal in one week instead of two.
There is some cost to your healing power – (1) takes energy (2) have to know exactly what you are doing to avoid more harm than than good (3) you can feel your patient’s pain while healing them (4) some combination thereof.
Despite efforts to keep things secret, you learn some things about your patient. He had been injured before but got medical treatment of varying degrees of quality (no shade on Claire, sometimes Matt does his own stitches) – that he was blind – seems to have sensitive skin – stuff from nightmares and mumblings when he is feverish (apologizing to various people – Dad, Elektra, Foggy, Karen, Stick . . .).
You also notice the man is very handsome.
You try to figure out which of the two people missing from the Midland Circle your patient is – attorney Matt Murdock or the vigilante Daredevil. Daredevil fits with the muscular body, the scars, and the insistence that he not go to hospital. Matt Murdock fits with the blindness but you struggle to think of why Matt Murdock cannot go to a hospital.
John Doe (Matt) isn’t exactly cooperative with unraveling the mystery when he walks up but not uncooperative either – sometimes he doesn’t seem to care if you know who he is, other times he does – you think its part of his depression.
Because yes, Matt when he wakes up is the same cheerful person we saw in the beginning of Season 3 (obvious sarcasm is obvious).
Matt needs SO MUCH therapy – physical and psychological. Neither of which is your specialty but you doubted that you could bring either in on this . . . maybe you have friends who are a physical therapist and a psychiatrist or psychologist whose brains you can pick. They will probably eventually get curious about your questions.
Maybe they discover things and become part of the team. Again, nothing against Claire but she might need some help with patching up vigilantes – if for no other reason, she cannot be everywhere. Also as a doctor, you can write prescriptions for things like antibiotics (given how often he lands in dumpsters, it is amazing that Matt hasn’t gotten an infection yet).
At some point, you move Matt from the church to your place.
Romance is slow burn.

Here's some little Dahlia facts and info :)
She collects post cards
She is short (a little taller than spot) but is extremely strong
She gets flustered pretty easily but is very good at hiding it
She fakes a New York accent that drops whenever she's comfortable around someone
Her mother was mentally unstable but was close to her, but she resented her father for the treatment he gave to her brothers
She believes her brothers are dead because after they left she never saw them again
She is an avid reader but only owns 2 books, so this book shop keeper lets her read books in his shop
From the academy, she can't sleep or sit comfortable unless she is perfectly uniformed with perfect posture
Her lip scar came from an incident at one of the jobs she worked at the docks, let's just say she is very wary of fishing hooks now
Her mother passed away and her father passed not long after, so her uncle and aunt were forced happy to have her! Though her uncle had important business ventures so they dropped her off at the academy, promising to return to her
She got her hat from Spot but wanted to make it her own, so she took the buttons from her mother's dress and sewed them onto it
She owns a toothbrush is (probably) the only newsie who regularly brushes her teeth (more routines from the academy)
Her and Spot have more of a cousin type of relationship, not quite siblings because they aren't that annoyed by each other.
Hotshot is her best friend for no real reason, they don't even know why they are so close
Her mother had a garden of dahlias so she was named after them, she can't remember her last name though
I'm still trying to figure out her mother's ethnicity, I think she would be from the Shawnee people but I don't want to get anything factually incorrect and be attacked or something, but I think that she has some native american in her and her mother taught her some of her culture
The Delancey brothers escaped from the family farm and made it to NYC, where they found a street to name themselves after. So that is why Dahlia didn't recognize herself as a Delancey till they meet again, since that wasn't their original last name.
Their father was most likely an immigrant, most likely Polish or from one of the countries of Caucasia
In my version the Delanceys are indeed brothers, cause I have seen some info that they are more found family and stuff but I didn't know that till I started writing all of this
I'm not of native American descent or anything so I'm probably not going to touch a whole lot on that when talking about her cause I don't want to get anything wrong and get harassed off the website, if you are native American and want to give me any facts that would make Dally accurate please do! I'm just trying to be a bit historically accurate since Dally and her family is mostly from the Ohio area, if you are offended by this I will probably change it.

Oliver Twist in NYC AU: DeSoto
Tumblr media
Full Name: DeSoto Pinscher
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Other names: Soto, Plastic face
Occupations: “Soldier” of Sykes Crime Organization, Loan shark (formerly), Co-Manager of Underground orphanage (formerly)
Residence: Sykes’ Warehouse (formerly), Penthouse (formerly)
Family: Roscoe (twin older brother), Beatrice (sister-in-law, formerly), Minerva Pinscher (niece; estranged) Relationships: Bill Sykes (boss), Edward “Monks” Leeford (investor), Dodger (enemy), Oliver (employee; former)
Likes: Fighting, power, Nancy (romantic interest), treating “unwanted orphans” as labor workers (formerly)
Dislikes: His boss being close to Nancy, Oliver broke his nose, expensive medical fee/insurance, his brother getting hurt, losing wealth, poverty, Edward “Monks” Leeford insulting Nancy
DeSoto is Roscoe’s twin younger brother, “Soldier” of Sykes Crime Organization, the loan shark, and a co-manager of Underground orphanage alongside his brother. He was also a brother-in-law of Beatrice and uncle of Minerva. Born from low income family, he and Roscoe were strived to become successful no matter what, escaped their impoverished life in young adult age, working for their benefactor and boss Bill Sykes and received a rank of “soldier” in the organization. At one point, he encountered 22 years old Nancy who became Sykes’ lover/sugar baby. The initial emotion he held was pity, but soon developed into romantic attraction. He was present when Roscoe and Beatrice got married, even when their child Minerva was born. At the same time, as co-manager of underground orphanage with his brother, he mistreated the orphans and would discipline then harshly borderline abuse and Oliver was one of those orphans.
When Oliver escaped, DeSoto was upset as he was worried of how their boss will react, not caring of Oliver’s well-being and asked how long Fagin has until he pay the debt to their boss. Month later when Oliver settled in Fagin’s barge, Roscoe and DeSoto accompanied their boss retrieving debt from Fagin. There, DeSoto noticed the change in the boat house, found Oliver hiding. He proceeded to drag the boy by ear harshly to the point of bleeding but Oliver defended himself by hit his nose with a bottle, breaking it in process. Humiliated and angered DeSoto and Roscoe were about to attack but was stopped by Dodger and others, forcing two henchmen to leave. Since then, DeSoto wore a nose retainer after the surgery. Although Nancy believed he must have attacked by Dodger or others for his brutal demeanor and chastised him, DeSoto couldn’t bring himself to correct her that his nose was broken by a CHILD. When Sykes left for the work outside New York, DeSoto was put in charge to guard Nancy. When she was disheartened after the absence of Oliver as Sykes lost his interest in her, DeSoto used this as a chance to bond with her, learning of her past with giving up her child for his better future. This interaction caused DeSoto to grow a gradual conscience/guilt colliding with his past cruel treatment towards children and feared of her reaction if she learns of this as he sees her strong maternal affection towards Oliver. Although, the two actually reached to relationship more than as friends.
At the day Fagin and Dodger came to Sykes’ warehouse to pay the remaining money owed to Sykes, the loan shark was disappointed of 1/3 not paid, proceeding him to order Roscoe and DeSoto to attack Fagin. However, Dodger intervenes and fought them. Although Roscoe and DeSoto were strong, they were taken back when injured Dodger warned them about Sykes’ business partner Edward and his potential to harm ones they care; Roscoe’s family and Nancy. When Jenny and Oliver were kidnapped, DeSoto and Roscoe were disturbed to see Edward ruthlessly beating defenseless Oliver as Jenny begged them to stop him. DeSoto felt further conflicted when Edward threatened them the lives of Roscoe’s wife and daughter. To add further scar with a salt, Nancy was disappointed of DeSoto’s involvement in child-laboring orphanage and years of abuse he caused them. DeSoto actually was aware that Nancy snuck off to help Oliver’s family but pretended he didn’t know. Eventually, when he heard Oliver’s distressed scream, he spotted Nancy fatally wounded from Sykes’ attack and saw his boss escaping the scene of crime, causing the resining loyalty he held for Sykes to disappear. When ordered to chase after Fagin’s gang after Oliver and Jenny got in Fagin’s truck, DeSoto and Roscoe “obediently” chased after them. When Sykes was critically injured from highway accident, they left him to die. While Roscoe went to find his family, DeSoto drove back to the warehouse and saw the ambulance carrying Nancy away as he begged her to wake up but was arrested by police.
As he and Roscoe admitted their crimes in a trial, they were sentenced 20 years in same prison. DeSoto felt sympathy when seeing his brother heartbroken and stricken with guilt as his hand was severely scarred while clutching the wedding ring inside. DeSoto wished to know if Nancy was alive. But, through years of abuse and mistreatment briefly made Oliver upset he lied Nancy died, although the boy soon regretted to see the lament in DeSoto’s eyes. Imprisoned, Roscoe and DeSoto were subjected by other inmates who didn’t take child abusers kindly but the brothers didn’t fight back. Later, DeSoto received a letter from Oliver and saw a clumsily snapped photo of a woman with a stroller. Realizing the woman was Nancy and the baby in a stroller was their child, he was last seen begging the warden to let him see the sender of letter, but was rebuffed.

Herr Moses in Berlin Makes a Name for Himself pt. 1
I care very much about this book for many reasons, one of which is its treatment of names and self-determination. Characters in the story often go by multiple names, including Moses Mendelssohn himself, and in my translation of Herr Moses in Berlin I have a few decisions to make about how I want to translate/anglicize the names of various historical figures featured by Knobloch.
However, I am adamant that the title of the book, Herr Moses in Berlin, remain the same in English instead of localizing to Mr. Moses or Moses Mendelssohn. This is for a few reasons:
Most anglophone readers will think of "Mr. Moses" as Robert Moses, the infamous urban planner. And while "it sucks that this city is being ripped up" is a very relevant sentiment to Herr Moses in Berlin, Robert Moses and NYC have nothing to do with it.
The implications of being called Herr are very relevant to Mendelssohn's experience of 18th-century German civil society, and readers for whom German is not their first language will, like Mendelssohn, experience the little frisson of a Fremdwort (foreign word) in their story.
According to Knobloch, "Moses" is the meaningful through-line in Mendelssohn's life.
In Herr Moses in Berlin, the surname represents the privileges and responsibilities of engaging with a state too vast and impersonal to remember your father's name. Particularly in the context of Jewish assimilation narratives, taking on a transferable family name is often the scar of a humiliating encounter with said state.
Knobloch writes the following:
Tumblr media
Mendelssohn's arc over the course of Herr Moses in Berlin sees him taking on the responsibilities of a public figure and an advocate for other Jewish communities in Europe, and the name "Moses Mendelssohn," itself becomes a tool in this advocacy. The persona of "the Socrates of Berlin," the author of Phaedon, and the other titles bestowed on Herr Moses are ones which he learns to catch and carry over his lifetime.
Whereas "Moses" is the name used by Mendelssohn and the people who knew him. It's latinised, of course, and figuring out whether to anglicize other names which Knobloch has already rendered in standardized German spellings is another dilemma (for a pt. 2), but according to Knobloch it is one for which he expressed a preference in his personal writings:
Tumblr media
(and if that isn't just the cutest thing. I'm sorry this is a serious analytic post)
Because Herr Moses in Berlin is not just a biography of the philosopher, the maskil, the public figure. It tells the life of Moses Mendelssohn as that of a man who makes a name for himself as an intermediary between his own communities, who, despite his relative privileges, is subject to a dehumanizing system that dominates his space/time and Knobloch's, and who never stops wrestling with his religious, civil and personal duties. By calling him "Herr Moses," Knobloch is suggesting that the reader get to know him as his friends did, rather than, as the Prussian state did, merely for his services.
He also leans a little bit into the "third Moses" typology, although the references to Maimonides are usually made with reference to Mendelssohn's own frail health, rather than their interpretive significance. That's probably its own issue, though.
In pt. 2 I'm going to think about all the other figures with multiple names: Dorothea, Frederick II, etc. and how to refer to them.

Learn about the benefits that PDO threads offer you
Tumblr media
To aid people in fending off the effects of ageing, the cosmetics industry is continually creating novel therapies. These processes are now less painful and quicker than earlier therapies. Customers can now easily get a cosmetic surgery done over their lunch break and return to work with little more than a slight amount of facial redness. The PDO thread lift is one of the most recent anti-aging procedures available today. Thin, biodegradable threads are surgically implanted into the skin as part of the treatment. A more youthful appearance is achieved by filling in fine lines, wrinkles, and loose skin using cleared PDO threads.
According to the area of the body being treated, a typical PDO thread lift procedure lasts only 15 to 30 minutes. Additionally, no recovery or downtime is required. Following the operation, the client can immediately resume their regular activities. A PDO threads in New York City lift provides rapid results in addition to being a quick operation. After two to three months, the complexion appears even better as the skin begins to absorb the PDO threads. Traditional facelifts, on the other hand, may result in some inflammation following the procedure. To observe the benefits of the surgery, the client will need to wait for the swelling to go down.
One of the most alluring advantages of PDO thread lifts is this. The client won't need to have surgery for this operation because the threads are injected. PDO thread is a great alternative for those who don't want other people to know that they underwent a procedure because the technique won't leave any scars. PDO threads in NYC lifts are also painless. Since there are few nerve endings in the top layer of the skin, where the threads are injected, there is little to no pain. The numbing medicines utilized before the treatment may cause some minor discomfort for the consumers. Depending on the type of thread utilized, the body completely absorbs the thread in six months to a year. The complexion will get better and better as the thread penetrates deeper into the skin.

Sorry, can I come back to this? Because not only is it “we watched it in real time” but it’s also “we can’t fucking watch it again.”
There’s something that a lot of people that weren’t there don’t get, and I say “weren’t there” both in terms of “not alive for it” and “not THERE.” And it’s that people in the greater NYC area (and DC and PA I’m sure as well - but I will need them to comment on that) have a VASTLY different reaction to that footage because it still affects us.
I find that footage really fucking hard to watch. I cannot go into the memorial museum. Because my dad is one of those “called in sick that day” stories. And I don’t hear the audio from that footage when I look at it, I hear the house phone ringing and ringing and ringing for hours because people knew he worked downtown and were desperate to know he was okay.
There is a house two blocks down with a memorial plaque on their driveway because they weren’t as lucky. My friends’ parents have cancer treatment scars from getting sick during the searches because they were FDNY/NYPD.
There are a LOT of us that are STILL fucking traumatized by this. And that’s what I think a lot of people don’t get. Or worse, they TRY to understand and they get OBSESSED with it. They use the footage as trauma porn or conspiracy bait.
Or worst of all, they use it as justification for the fucking despicable way the US has treated Muslims and Middle Eastern people.
And that’s the biggest nuance that gets lost. You either have to shrug it off like it was no big deal and make it a joke or conspiracy theory and say “well we deserved it”, or you go the complete other direction, paint a flag on your face, say every cop is a hero and can do no wrong, and bomb the fuck out of the Middle East in the name of “justice.”
Neither of those feel right to me.
Idk if I have a point to this but. Yes, the teachers that force you guys to watch it are weird. For sure. But also, it happened, and they want to teach you about it for a reason.
Guys, I need to know something (if you're american)

Early Acne Scar Improvement with Genius, Sculptra & Fraxel
These photos were taken just before her second treatment, one month after receiving Genius RF, Sculptra, and Fraxel to reduce acne scars. Achieving such visible progress after just one session is rare since acne scars typically improve gradually with collagen production over several months. With the right combination of treatments, early results like these are possible!

Hey there, skincare enthusiasts! Today, I’m diving into a hot topic that’s got everyone buzzing- Microneedling versus Microchanneling. Which one is best for your skin? Let’s break it down!
First up, Microneedling. This treatment involves using fine needles to create tiny punctures in the skin. Sounds intense, right? But it’s actually fantastic for stimulating collagen production and improving skin texture. Many people love Microneedling for its ability to reduce scars, fine lines, and even hyperpigmentation.
Now, let’s talk about Microchanneling. Similar to Microneedling, Microchanneling also creates tiny channels in the skin. However, it uses a different technique. Instead of rolling or dragging needles, Microchanneling uses a stamping method. This makes it a bit gentler on the skin and typically results in less inflammation and downtime.
So, how is Microchanneling different from Microneedling? Well, the main difference lies in the delivery method. Microchanneling’s stamping method ensures more precise and consistent channels, which can enhance the absorption of skincare products. Plus, it’s often seen as a safer option for those with sensitive skin.
Now, let’s dive into the benefits of Microchanneling. One major perk is its ability to rejuvenate the skin with minimal discomfort. The precise channels created allow for better penetration of serums and treatments, boosting their effectiveness. Over time, this can lead to smoother, firmer, and more radiant skin. Microchanneling is also known for its quick recovery time. Unlike some more aggressive treatments, there’s usually little to no downtime, meaning you can get back to your daily routine faster.

NYC Vein Treatment: Minimally Invasive Options for Lasting Results!
Have unsightly spider or varicose veins got you down? Don’t worry, you have options! But a common concern is: Do veins grow back after removal?
The good news: When treated with minimally invasive techniques like sclerotherapy or ablation, removed veins typically don’t grow back. These procedures close the veins, rerouting blood flow to healthier ones.
Why Minimally Invasive? Here in New York City, busy schedules demand efficient solutions. Minimally invasive treatments offer several advantages:
Smaller incisions: Reduced scarring and quicker healing. Local anesthesia: Less discomfort compared to traditional surgery.
Faster recovery: Get back to your routine faster.
Find the Right Treatment for You!
At Downtown Vein Treatment Center, we offer a variety of minimally invasive options to address your specific needs. We understand each case is unique, so we’ll work with you to create a personalized treatment plan.
