Denali is breathtaking! I have always wanted to visit this expansive preserve. With only 10,512 visitors a year, it is quite a privilege. At 6 million acres the scale is overwhelming. Thanks to President Carter, this land will always remain protected and natural. We stayed inside the park at the Savage River Campground and saw the most beautiful animals on our wildlife tour including golden colored Grizzly bears, foxes, caribou and dall sheep. Hunting for the best photos motivated you to push your self. It's been awhile since I've had a real motivation to push past the pain while hiking. But when I see wildlife on the ridge of the mountain, the fatigue and pain fade away and I'm on the hunt. And I treat every shoot as a hunt, though luckily for the animal I'm only armed with a Nikon. But the way I approach the animal to get close is the same, but I must get much closer.
