Monkey Movie from The Animation Workshop on Vimeo.

The thick canopy blocks most sunlight, often taken by monkeys higher in the hierarchy. Suddenly, a fallen dead monkey disrupts the darkness. Monkeys gather, including Vervet with a small glass, playing with light. But monkeys higher up block the new ray. While others scatter, Vervet persists, fighting for a spot in the sun. Despite early victories, he realizes he's in over his head.

Monkey Movie is an animation short film by students of ANIM20 at The Animation Workshop. The team worked on the film throughout their studies, and it is now released as part of their graduation in 2024.

Espera em Deus

Eu tenho um sonho, que é viver de histórias: escrever, traduzir, editar, revisar. Tudo o que eu puder fazer, eu quero fazer. Mas, apesar de todas as minhas orações, dos meus planejamentos, de entregar esse sonho para Deus, para que seja realizado conforme a vontade Dele, eu não me sinto muito mais próxima de realizá-lo do que me sentia anos atrás.

Hoje foi um daqueles dias em que pensei em desistir. Foi apenas por alguns minutos, mas a dúvida dominou minha mente, o desânimo se juntou ao cansaço do trabalho, e eu pensei que talvez fosse meu destino trabalhar em uma coisa qualquer, que eu não tinha realmente interesse em fazer, para me sustentar nesse plano humano.

Mas Deus foi rápido em me responder. O que Ele trouxe para mim foi a história de Abraão, aquele que tem o título de amigo de Deus, que recebeu uma das maiores promessas que o Senhor já fez para alguém: Deus faria de Abraão pai de muitas nações. Apesar disso, Abraão só foi receber um filho por volta dos seus 100 anos de idade!

Deve ter sido difícil esperar por tanto tempo, especialmente em uma época em que gerar descendentes era tão importante. Especialmente porque o próprio Deus o prometeu uma criança. Imagino o quanto Abraão deve ter tentado com Sara, o quanto ele deve ter orado, chorado, clamado. Ele chegou a tentar dar um jeitinho com Agar (por influência de sua esposa). Mas nada podia apressar os planos de Deus.

Jesus foi outra pessoa que teve que esperar pelo tempo de Deus para cumprir seu propósito. Apesar de já saber o motivo de sua existência entre os homens desde pequenino, Jesus teve que esperar até seus 30 anos para começar seu Ministério. E, enquanto esperava, o que ele fez? Ele buscou a Deus e se preparou para sua missão.

Tal como Jesus e Abraão, o fato de que meu sonho, meu objetivo, ainda não se realizou não significa, necessariamente, que nunca vai acontecer. Só não é para ser agora. Se Deus está no controle, então só me resta esperar. E, enquanto eu espero pelo tempo Dele, devo me preparar, seja estudando, praticando, me conectando com outras pessoas, ou o que quer que seja necessário.

Deus deseja o melhor para nós e tem poder para fazer nossos sonhos se realizarem, mas tudo tem um tempo certo de ocorrer.

Apenas acredite Nele.

ESCÂNDALO

Foi assim o nascimento de Jesus Cristo: Maria, Sua mãe, estava prometida em casamento a José, mas, antes que se unissem, achou-se grávida pelo Espírito Santo. Mateus 1:18

Muitas pessoas consideram a Bíblia um livro machista ou que pelo menos dá margem para este tipo de pensamento. Como documento histórico, ela é o retrato de sociedades e culturas ao longo dos séculos. Em muitos casos, há fatos que qualquer um de nós preferiria apagar da história. Mas é importante lembrar que a Bíblia não endossa tudo o que ela conta. Onde há abuso, violência e maldade, a Palavra de Deus apenas descreve as tristes consequências da queda e do afastamento do ideal pretendido por Deus para a humanidade.

No entanto, os valores do reino de Deus nunca se alteraram. Uma das evidências é a presença de nomes de mulheres na genealogia de Jesus. Isso não era comum em documentos dessa natureza. Religiosos alimentavam a crença de que era melhor que as palavras da Torá fossem lançadas ao fogo do que entregues aos lábios de uma mulher.

Tendo isso em mente, parece ainda mais estranha a genealogia de Jesus oferecida por Mateus. Ele optou por não citar três reis de Israel, contudo, mencionou mulheres. Quatro são mencionadas, além de Maria. Mesmo em um contexto machista, a Bíblia narra a construção de uma religião inclusiva. De fato, houve mulheres de grande destaque na história do povo de Deus. Mas Mateus não menciona nenhuma delas. Ele não menciona Sara, Rebeca, Raquel. As mencionadas são: Tamar, Raabe, Rute e Bate-Seba.

Três delas eram estrangeiras, o que contrariava a proibição sacerdotal contra os casamentos mistos, passíveis de punição com a morte (Números 25:1-17). Três estavam envolvidas em escândalo sexual. Tamar e Bate-Seba envolveram-se em adultério (Gênesis 38; 2º Samuel 11:2-5); Raabe, em prostituição (Josué 2:1). Por que elas estão aqui? Já parou para pensar?

Minha resposta a essa pergunta é: além de serem um lembrete da graça abrangente e inclusiva, elas estão aqui por causa de Maria. A própria Maria sofreu suspeita da parte de José de ter tido relação com outro homem (Mateus 1:18).

Deus não nos rejeita por causa de nossos escândalos. Nas histórias mais confusas, nas famílias mais complexas, nos cenários mais improváveis, Jesus pode nascer. Creia e abra o coração.

DIA 25 DE ABRIL DE 2024 : COMOVIDO COM O MUSEU ABEL MANTA EM GOUVEIA : comoveu-me o encontro com o museu dedicado a meu tio. !O imponente edifício do século XVIII foi mandado construir pelos primeiros senhores da Casa do Toural, . Já no século XX, o solar pertenceu aos Condes de Vinhó e Almedina cuja mulher, D. Luísa Guimarães Guedes foi a grande impulsionadora dos estudos de Abel Manta em Lisboa. Em 1981, o Município de Gouveia adquiriu o edifício onde instalou a Biblioteca Municipal e um Museu de temática geral. Em 1983, foi o local escolhido para a exposição retrospectiva da obra de Abel Manta, homenagem ao pintor gouveense, falecido no ano anterior. Esta exposição iniciou o processo que viria a culminar com a constituição de um Museu Municipal dedicado à arte moderna.O Museu Municipal de Arte Moderna abriu a 17 de fevereiro de 1985.:. A coleção do Museu foi constituída a partir da doação efetuada, em 1985, pelo filho de Abel Manta,o arquiteto, pintor e artistas gráfico João Abel Manta.. O núcleo central da coleção é composto por peças de notáveis artistas plásticos do século XX português – dos primeiros modernistas aos anos 80 . Pavimentação das primeiras ruas do bairro Pantanal é concluída

Foram 13 ruas asfaltadas nesta primeira etapa A primeira etapa do serviço de pavimentação executado no bairro Pantanal foi concluída pela Prefeitura de Porto Velho através da Secretaria Municipal de Obras (Semob). Ao todo foram 13 ruas pavimentadas, localizadas entre as avenidas Amazonas e José Vieira Caúla, zona leste da capital, que resultaram em aproximadamente 4 quilômetros, trabalho iniciado ainda em 2023. Paralelamente foi executado o serviço de recapeamento da avenida Amazonas, trecho que não havia recebido a nova camada asfáltica em 2023, o que totalizou 1,6 quilômetro. Entre as ruas pavimentadas estão: Rugendas, Debret, Anita Malfate, Elizeu Visconte, Turquia, Ancara, Cândido Portinari, Almeida Júnior, Presidente José Viana, Madre Tereza, Rita Ibanês, Sara Ibanês e Orlando Teruz. Com isso, mais da metade do bairro já recebeu asfalto e parte das ruas começou a receber a obra de meio-fio e sarjeta. O asfalto foi comemorado por vários moradores do bairro. Karine Gomes, de 29 anos, é uma delas. Moradora da rua Almeida Júnior desde que nasceu, ela conta que o período mais crítico era o chuvoso. “Lama demais, que chegava a entrar na nossa casa. As crianças que gostavam de brincar na rua, ou até em momentos como ir à escola, passavam por muitas dificuldades. Sem dúvidas ganhamos mais qualidade de vida”. A comerciante Diana de Souza mora no bairro há 29 anos e conta como era antes da chegada do asfalto. “Antes a gente precisava escolher bem as ruas que íamos transitar, para evitar pisar na lama ou enfrentar alagamentos. Isso mudou significativamente. O transporte por aplicativo não entrava no nosso bairro, não ia até a residência para buscar o passageiro. Com a chegada do asfalto, até isso mudou”, resumiu a comerciante. INVERNO AMAZÔNICO Ao contrário dos períodos anteriores, o inverno amazônico se intensificou no início de janeiro e não nos meses de novembro e dezembro. Com isso, o planejamento de pavimentação é reavaliado. “Fizemos parte do bairro Pantanal porque a chuva permitiu, mas neste início de 2024 fomos até onde foi possível para fazer um asfalto de qualidade. Enquanto as chuvas estiverem intensas, vamos trabalhar mais intensamente com o recapeamento”, explicou Diego Lage, secretário de obras. The class uses a variety of techniques in narrative, cinematic, interactive, sculptural, and performative approaches to explore conceptual topics by examining motions that both mimic and transcend the boundaries of reality.
