Sorry for being late, I've been busy Monday with getting a new job, recording at the home studio, and life.

This one is mostly jazz but there is a couple other genres also.Found some interesting artist like Bill Evans and sly &the family stone  that ill definitely revisit, and now i know who made “Lovin’ you”.huh,i’m learning something.

"The Pacific Jazz Institute at Dimitiriou's Jazz Alley welcomes world-renowned (and Seattle-born) jazz vocalist Sara Gazarek for an exclusive preview of the music from her highly anticipated upcoming release "Thirsty Ghost.” This special run of shows will feature Sara’s compelling and signature re-workings of songs from the Great American Songbook, her original compositions, and a handful of contemporary songs (Stevie Wonder, Dolly Parton, Nick Drake, etc)."

"Sara will be joined onstage by the man who introduced her to the genre -- Roosevelt High School Jazz Band director and trombonist, Scott Brown. Additional band members include Miro Sprague (piano), Alex Boneham (bass), Zach Harmon (drums), horns and other special guests (TBD)."

I'm excited to see this show tonight with my friend, music critic Andy Hamlin. Not least because I had the backing trombone, Scott Brown, as my Vocal Jazz teacher in high school 30 years ago. I'm gonna have a cognac to drink at the show as a nod to my dad who used to do that when we would go there together.

　これまでは主にジョシュ・ネルソンのピアノ・トリオと一緒に活動してきたサラ・ガザレクが、メンバーを一新。この７年ぶりのソロ作は、スチュアート・ミンデマンやラリー・ゴールディングス等の協力を得て録音されている。とはいえ、もともと端麗なサラの歌は、前記のメンバーたちの演奏とよく諧和している。しかもローズ・ピアノやオルガン、ホーンなどの音色が、まろやかな風味をサラの音楽に吹き込んでいて、色彩もより豊かになった。ブラッド・メルドーの曲にサラが自作の歌詞を付けた最後の曲は、カート・エリングとの共演。ニック・ドレイクやビョークの曲も歌われている。text by 渡辺 亨 (月刊ラティーナ2019年4月号掲載)

Found a new song for Captain Jack in my Grace playlist, and now I'm in full-on Grace mode.

Goddammit, I need like a week off so I can finish that behemoth so it'll stop haunting me. Maybe this spring.

The new song is a cover of Billy Joel's "And So It Goes," by Sara Gazarek. It stopped me cold, and I immediately had to go do some playlist tinkering to fit it in.

God these boys are so sad.
