Spooky season is almost upon us so I've been thinking about horror films. I've got my list curated for Hooptober (yearly film scavenger hunt, named after director Tobe Hooper) and I just love how versatile the genre is.
You can have comedies, family drama, gorefest, giallo (like a mix between slasher and mystery), really dumb bad movies, "elevated" horror, high art, psychological thrillers, romantic horror, and more! This is a genre that has over 60 movies just about Santa Claus killing people. You can order your slasher with or without one liners. You get crap from people that couldn't get anything else produced, but also established directors trying to branch out in interesting ways, or debuts from directors that couldn't get established any other way.
You can't tell if it's going to be good or bad just from the concept or even the attached talent alone. Two Australian youtubers with awful, immature content made a movie about "what if Ouija boards were hands" and Talk To Me ended up being great. Oz Perkins starred in a movie where Gary Busey is a talking dog and then goes off to direct The Blackcoat's Daughter. John Carpenter makes the most iconic horror movies of all time and then somehow made Ghosts of Mars, the worst film he's ever done.
It's just rolling the dice every time. Apparently Mattel is making a horror movie about a magic 8 ball that can tell the future. I can't tell if this is going to be a good movie or not, it's impossible without actually seeing it.

Top Holiday Gift Ideas for Basketball Lovers
Tumblr media
The holiday season is upon us, and with it comes the joyous yet sometimes daunting task of finding the perfect gifts for our loved ones. If you have a basketball enthusiast in your life, you’re in luck! There are plenty of fantastic gift ideas that will make their holiday season truly special. From stylish apparel to essential gear and unique memorabilia, we’ve curated a list of the top holiday gift ideas for basketball lovers.
The “Hoops with Santa Holiday Slam Dunk” T-Shirt
One standout gift idea this year is the “Hoops with Santa Holiday Slam Dunk” T-shirt. This T-shirt is not just any ordinary piece of clothing; it combines the love for basketball with the festive spirit of the holidays. The unique design features Santa Claus himself dunking a basketball, surrounded by holiday-themed graphics that are sure to bring a smile to any basketball fan’s face. The festive theme makes it a perfect addition to any holiday wardrobe, whether it’s for a casual outing or a festive gathering.
Basketball Gear
For those who love to hit the court, basketball gear is always a great choice. Consider gifting a high-quality basketball, such as the Wilson Evolution or the Spalding NBA Official Game Ball. These balls are known for their durability and performance, making them ideal for both indoor and outdoor play.
Another essential piece of gear is a pair of basketball shoes. Brands like Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour offer a variety of styles and technologies to enhance performance and comfort. Look for shoes with good traction, cushioning, and ankle support to ensure the best experience on the court.
Memorabilia and Collectibles
Basketball memorabilia and collectibles are perfect for fans who want to showcase their love for the game. Autographed jerseys, basketballs, or photographs from legendary players can be a treasured addition to any collection. Websites like eBay and specialized sports memorabilia stores often have a wide selection of authenticated items.
For a more personal touch, consider a custom framed jersey or a shadow box displaying a favorite player’s memorabilia. These items not only make great conversation starters but also add a touch of elegance to any room.
Accessories
Accessories can be both practical and stylish gifts for basketball lovers. A durable and spacious basketball bag is essential for carrying gear to and from the court. Look for bags with multiple compartments for shoes, clothes, and other essentials.
Other great accessory ideas include basketball-themed phone cases, keychains, and even jewelry. A stylish basketball pendant or a pair of cufflinks can be a subtle yet meaningful way to show off their love for the game.
Where to Find These Gifts
Finding the perfect gift doesn’t have to be a challenge. Many of these items can be found at major sporting goods stores like Dick’s Sporting Goods, Academy Sports + Outdoors, and Modell’s. Online retailers such as Amazon, Fanatics, and the NBA Store also offer a wide variety of basketball-related gifts.
Keep an eye out for special promotions and discounts, especially during the holiday season. Many retailers offer Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals, as well as end-of-year clearance sales. Signing up for newsletters or following your favorite brands on social media can also help you stay informed about any upcoming sales.
Conclusion
This holiday season, make your basketball-loving friend or family member feel extra special with a thoughtful and unique gift. Whether it’s the festive “Hoops with Santa Holiday Slam Dunk” T-shirt, essential basketball gear, memorable collectibles, or stylish accessories, there’s something for every fan. Happy holiday shopping, and here’s to a slam dunk of a season!

Hi everybody it’s a week left to Christmas so for day 18 of A Very Dolly Christmas Countdown 2924 we have Mary my 1/2 scale ball jointed doll from @kikagoods_official admiring my The Nightmare Before Christmas Funko Pop advent calendar. Image Description: a photo of a small BJD doll standing on an advent calendar with a Christmas town background . The advent Calendar says 7 days left to Christmas. The doll has Jack Skellington dressed as Sandy Claws and Santa Claus himself standing beside her. There is a lit up Christmas house beside the advent calendar.
