his eyes darkened, thinking about what to say even if he had a clear imagine in his mind of what he wanted to do. “let me show you,” he said in a low tone, but it was unmistakable. his words were soft yet deliberate, the intensity behind them making your heart skip just a little.

after nodding eagerly, you took the hand he was offering you and let him lead you to his pool house, which was right in the middle of the cohen’s backyard, where the party was taking place.

he made you sit down on the edge of his large bed, while he made sure that the curtains were closed and his door locked. he then turned, making his way to you. he hovered over you, his hands hooking his shirt to take it off before slipping them under yours to do the same.

The OC is, in many ways, just another soapy teen drama from the early 2000s. But one thing that makes it stand out? TV Parents who are actually INVOLVED in their kids lives. Enter Sandy Cohen.

Just look at this dork. He's so excited to be standing next to his kids and I LOVE IT. No matter what teenage dramatics are occurring, this entire show is FILLED with genuine, non-snarky, loving moments between parents and kids. They LIKE one another.

And he adores his wife, too. Their kids might get involved in all sorts of crazy trouble, but these two? They're mostly navigating parenting dilemmas, in-laws, and busy careers. In other words: normal adult stuff. It's so refreshing.

But Sandy is no pushover. He gets mad, he gives consequences, and he cuts through teenage bullshit... but with love. It's always coming from a place of "You're smarter than this, I KNOW you can do better, I'm here anytime you need me."

Anyway. This guy is GREAT and The OC is a pretty awesome show until it completely jumps the shark.
