Here and then I think about Elias being a genuinely boring person to 99% of the world by the time it's the 2000s and all his circle of Good Society Gentlemen Horny for their weird Academic friend obsessed with Ghosts Stories are dead.

Not just boring, but easily dismissed, as well ("waste of a suit"), ("A dull little man" // "Gertrude was the one who scared me").

And I don't know, it always drives me a little insane in the BEST way. I love it. I love that his little joys in life are spreadsheets, filing, The Horror Stories of Other People that Are Not Him Thank You, and cake. I love that he is mild, that he looks utterly inoffensive, that he's passive and only shows glimpses of how Cruel and /how much he enjoys being Cruel/ in very specific situations (1. i have all the power and everybody in the room knows, 2. They want to see an evil man i'll show them an evil man 3. EVERYTHING I WORKED TOWARDS FOR CENTURIES IS SET INTO MOTION I AM WINNING)

It makes it extra tasty, with that additional external point of view from characters, that Jon explicitely says that Elias is the most knowledgeable man he knows when it comes to paranormal: Jon actively seeked out Elias enough to be aware of that. It's also delicious to have him say "Elias is a hard man to pin down" because it means that Jon RECOGNIZES that Elias is not just his boring, inefficient superior; that there are myriads of other things he's yet to uncover about him and all.

I think it's nice for us all boring people to have represention in villainy. I said it over on bluesky and all but I know in my heart his perfectly tailored three-piece suits are all different shades of grey (Ah,,), except for the black ones that are for fancy events, and the "extravagant" navy blue ones for "fun" events like Institute parties.

a nuance that gets a bit lost in martin 'murder' blackwood is that while he's definitely not against a good killing, it's more of a fun couple's activity rather than true heartfelt passion, you know?

I’m still listening to the Magnus Archives and ohhhhhh boy Jon is quickly becoming my new favorite whumpee. I have soooooo many ideas but I’m not finished with the Podcast yet.

But I’ve been imagining S3 Jon being transported back to S1 with all his memories but no wounds or anything to show for it. The whole staff thinking he’s gone off the deep end already, blabbering about Fears and Michael and Prentiss and-

He’s just so…terrified to be back. He can’t even take in that they’re all still alive and okay. He grips onto Sasha’s arm like she might disappear and it scares her.

He doesn’t want to experience everything again. He doesn’t even want to try and fix everything because he’s not sure it’s even possible. What if he’s just consigning them to a worse fate?

And then Elias walks in, asking what happened, a knowing smile spread across his lips. And Jon just freezes. He can’t do anything, even if he confronted Elias here and now, there’s nothing he could do to release everyone. If they even believed him in this state.

20/3/25 update!

okay so i’ve thought a lot about this and i think i just need to step back from this for a while

i’ll still be active, but i’m not going to be producing anything for the time being? :( i wish i could and if i do it’s a miracle istg

this is just because i thought i would be able to balance this and my personal and real life priorities but i can’t :/

however i really need to say thank you to everyone who was here for me and made this past year so special for me i’ll never forget it because it means so much to me ❤️

i’m also kind of stepping away from the fandom slightly and i’m losing more and more time to real life and uni and studies now so it makes sense

i’ve been dealing with quite a bit of stuff recently but all is okay please don’t worry!

i really thought that i could do this yall but i wanna say for the time being i can’t

maybe i won’t ever come back to this but it’s okay because this was always so important to me and you guys will always mean so much to me 💞💕💕
