Sam is so real I too was a gifted kid who held onto my first major academic failure way too long bc your little child brain that has been told over and over how smart it is thinks that failing = losing self worth. me too sam me too. I mean I wasn't rejected from a big horror institute tho so like. skill issue.

hey, I'm likely shrieking into the void rn. and probably two ppl will read this. but. I ranted about this on my old blog/in the tags. and. it's still on my mind 💀

just wanted to let u all know that I want this blog to be a VERY conversation-friendly and collaborative space!! I wanna follow ur stories and art w/bated breath and screech about them in the tags/comments!!

part of what burnt me out on simblr the first time around was how isolating/weirdly competitive it began to feel. all the weird hoopla about big/small simblrs. keeping ur blog "clean" and full of only ur own content. the anti-reblog/commentary culture for the sake of aesthetics. feeling like u were on the grind to always produce "content" that somebody would look @ for five seconds & then never again.

and ofc, most of that was very internal. @ the end of the day, ur experience in a community is what u make it. but, I mean, I can't deny.......it burnt me out.

this is even more apparent to me after being in other fandom spaces & having the polar opposite experience. it's really shown me that fandom is only truly sustainable when everyone is excited about the same stuff/willing to engage w/each other.

Hear me out: always need people for the night shifts. He already has experience helping/healing others. Depending on the care home/care facility it can be rather laid back. Fairly fulfilling since you are actively taking care of others in the community

im pretty sure solar overworking himself constantly is his way of coping

basically just: if im constantly busy with things then i dont have to confront my trauma and emotions

so im pretty sure hes trying to avoid having to deal with his emotions after everything that has happened. he very likely thinks of himself as a burden to others so thats also a reason for why he overworks himself. its so that he feels useful

he needs therapy i swear-

It's a mix of how our Eclipse handled stuff and how Earth handles stuff!! A mix of "Just keep busy, don't think" and "If I'm the helper, I shouldn't need time be helped" that comes out as a fun bundle of "I'm the one relied upon to fix stuff and fixing stuff is how I don't think about the stress of my situation so can everyone please just keep asking me to do stuff so I can keep being distracted and feel like my existence is actually justified here."

It's such a messy tangle of coping mechanisms and the fact he also isn't aware of it is just another staple for any Eclipse I guess!! No matter what world, the blindless of their own issues and wellbeing is a promise huh LMAO 😭
