Ruin and his Montgomery Gator - TSAMS

NOT A SHIP! (though… doomed men… <3)

Ruin fought for this man and the rest of his friends until the very end, and is now taking control in protecting other universes to prevent the outcome of his own. That’s what upsets me so much about how people portray Ruin, both in the fandom, and by the characters in the show talking about him.

He’s not a /bad guy/, he made a hard decision, one that would ultimately save and bring life to infinite lives above them. It’s a Hero Mindset, a sacrifice mindset.

Ruin fought for 50 years just to keep his friends alive when they weren’t even themselves anymore. Ruin destroyed the Creator so no other universe would experience what he felt, that “Ruin” would not reoccur. I despise how they try to lift Puppet higher than Ruin. She is not better than him, she is far, far worse. She tortured and tormented, Ruin was saving people from that.

I will never sit on the bench quietly when someone utters the words “Ruin is a Villain.”

Words cannot express how much I love them.

Ruin really isn’t a villain, he’s a survivor with a Hero Complex. He’s sacrificing by definition. “give up (something important or valued) for the sake of other considerations.” He makes the hard choices that are worth making, but knows there is a large price to pay in doing so.

With that knowledge in mind, he would not sit back and allow someone else to stay on the bench while the world collapses around them.

I think Solar wants to do more, but I’ve never really seen him doing anything. Yes, he’s working all the time, but we all know he can do more, and I believe he /wants/ to do more. He always seems to be holding back, but maybe I’m looking too far deep into a character I’ve just started studying.

I like to believe they do have an unsaid friendship, a thin line of trust that allows hesitation on both ends to violent acts. I like to believe Solar and Ruin can read each other like open books but Solar is unable to do anything while Ruin tries everything he can.

They are so, so important to me. <3

After 100 years had passed, Earth believed Eclipse had learned his lesson and was ready to come back into the world. That was her coverup story, anyway. In reality, she wanted someone to fully talk to again. Someone who wasn’t busy all the time like her family was, someone disconnected from all the political issues. But when she released him from his imprisonment, she realized his body had withered over the hundred years that he was left rotting in his Star jail. Metal plates were falling from his limbs and abdomen, his skin was rusty, his internal power had died into a slim spark of light, and he had forgotten how to control his own body. His eyes and voice had been neglected for so long that Eclipse couldn’t remember how to use them, and when he tried, he nearly burned his eyes and broke his voice box trying to do the simplest of things. He could barely breathe without Earth’s instructions.

Earth was quick to help, getting him all the repairs he needed. Things she couldn’t fix, she accommodated through physical therapy or protection over the next 7 years they’d spend together. Eclipse’s eyes were covered, it was deemed too dangerous to try and fix, his voice recovered though it was low, scratchy, and painful to use at times. He learned how to move again, how to be spry and quick on his feet like he used to be, and his senses were strengthened with his lack of eyes.

Eclipse’s return would never be announced to the public, or even to the celestial family. Earth didn’t want to risk Moon or Lunar trying to take down something she worked so hard on. So she kept him hidden from public, which he didn’t mind. He didn’t want to see anyone else anyways, he had no desire to. His hate and grudges had died and he had become much more hyper focused on the fact he was physical again. He didn’t want that to be taken away again either.

Earth always vented to him about daily stress she dealt with, things that were vague enough that Eclipse never got the full picture, but clear enough for him to understand why she was so stressed. Even without the full picture, Earth’s intentions were always clear. He didn’t realize just how bad the “good” Earth was trying to do was, but he always analyzed the best in her, knowing her intentions were pure if not her actions.

Earth tried not to be too political around Eclipse anyways unless she really needed to vent about something, she used Eclipse’s company as a “get-away” to disconnect herself and have some downtime. But she never had enough, which was what was driving her over the edge.

Maybe if Eclipse could see Earth’s state, he would’ve spoken up sooner.

So, this is totally unrelated, not planning anything. (Totally not a possible interaction.)

But how would the statue work if someone was seeing out of someone else's eyes. Like watching from a camera in a way. Also, it brings up the question of whether the statue could still move if a camera was placed by it and someone was watching through.

The person who perceives must be in the room WITH him in order to awaken him. Think of it this way,

It’s as if the garden itself is the prison, and you need to step into the cell to bring the prisoner out. You can’t just stand outside the bars and say “you’re free”, because they’re still behind bars.

If it was something like POSSESSING TECH like the cameras that do exist in the room, that’s being in the room. But simply using them as a pair of eyes from inside is like watching a fictional tv show. They aren’t “real” because they’re in the tv, not in front of you.

So, if a per say animatronic was possessed by a paranormal parasite and the thing was watching through the host. Since the one controlling the host wasn't in the room, would the statue not move? Even though there was a person in the room?

For the curious ones, the episode is called “Sun vs Eclipse in VRCHAT” — from a year ago!

I rewatch these episodes all the time, looking for lore…foreshadowing, details i missed, even to catch up on episodes I didn’t watch. This is honestly one of my personal favorite episodes, though I do have a list of favorites aside from this one that rank higher.

This episode gave me chills. Sun wasn’t playing.

I do find it odd how out of all the episodes where internal thoughts were recorded, it was THIS episode, and it was ECLIPSE’S. AND OH MY STARS, HE WAS /FREAKING OUT./

so uh, drew your dude. This is my take on the guy. He was very interesting to draw! This is most likely the most detailed drawing I have done in a while. But uh, i like your funky dude.
