Music instrument store Sam Ash has announced they are going out of business after 100 years. Total bummer! As a teen, I used to stop at their store and at Manny's Music in NYC on West 48th Street, AKA "Music Row" and play some guitars when I visited NYC.

I don't remember meeting him but I remember when our friendship was solidified. We were six or seven. Our school had a water main break. It was in the morning so it was right after class started and everyone had to go home. My parents were working and they couldn't come to pick me up, so Julian told me to come home with him. The water main didn't get repaired for three days so I just stayed over.

FABRIZIO MORETTI: Nikolai was always around. Julian has this very attractive way of being, even on a subconscious level. People run the risk of wanting to bend towards his wishes. And at that time, the way I saw it, Nikolai was the only one who Julian would bend to. That changed, but I remember Nikolai's school got out later than ours, and Julian would wait for what seemed like a long time, for him to come home and just hang out.

NICK VALENSI: Fab was in my grade at Dwight-I didn't have classes with Julian, but I had English and French with Fab.

FABRIZIO MORETTI: Then they found out Nick was actually better at French than they initially graded him so he moved. We were all friends. But I always felt like I was chasing them, like I wasn't cool enough. They would kinda let me in every once in a while. They were thick as thieves, those two. I would try to hang out with them, and it always felt like a privilege when I did.

NIKOLAI FRAITURE: The first time I met Nick, were going to a music store on Forty-Eighth Street, Sam Ash. He was much younger than Julian and I were-he was thirteen and we were fifteen- but then we got home and he played "The Star-Spangled Banner" by Jimi Hendrix and I was like, "Holy shit."

NICK VALENSI: Right away Julian and I started doing music together. He started writing songs basically right away.”

JULIAN CASABLANCAS: Albert was a little younger so I wasn't really friends with him then, but he was one of the only other Americans there. I kept a pretty low profile at that school. I mean, it was a pretty big culture shock.

Okay, again not rlly strict or clear ones, but I like to think about it. That being said, I'm mostly coming up with it as I go along. I'm just gonna answer this with every character as if nothing bad happened to them so I can include the Washingtons- I hope thats ok, if not I can do a post game one I'm sure all I think abt is this game.

I like to think she would become a model like she wants to be.

Also maybe an actress in some of Josh's films lol. I think she'd be good at it.

Honestly job wise I think she just does whatever she feels like, she's a very free and funloving person.

She visits Em at her work all the time, they have their lunch together.

She has a german shepard dog.

Ash

Ashley works on her books, which are mostly like crime-mystery type stories.

She often goes over Josh's scripts with him.

She works at a coffee shop in a mall because she just likes the vibe of sitting and writing in a café on her breaks.

She has pet ferrets.

Sam

She works at an animal shelter while also volunteering with conservation charities and stuff.

She's athletic and does runs and stuff for fundraising for charity.

She's hard to make plans with because she's always up to something, always busy. But she makes sure to be free for when the Washingtons host a get-together at the lodge :)

Em

She works assistant manager at a clothing store, and she is in her ELEMENT.

Crochets in her spare time.

Sometimes does hikes with Sam.

Always changing her hairstyle, she's definitely braver when it comes to her style and doing what she wants.

She has a cat.

Beth

Does soundtracks for things, she's very into her music. Often Josh will get her for his films.

She's a music teacher on top of that, just because I think it'd be funny.

She gets really into gardening, grows fruit + veg and uses it when she makes any meals.

That said she also gets into cooking and sometimes hosts dinners with family or friends.

Han

Still into her weird hobbies (bug keeping, doll collecting).

She works with Josh all the time and helps with concept art and stuff. (Shes artsy as well to me).

Spends a lot of time up at Blackwood, works there when it's open. She's a ski instructor.

She also collects bones and feathers and stuff up there.

She joins Sam on a lot of her hikes/runs as well.

Plans and hosts the Feburary lodge hangouts.

Josh

He does film writing/directing, much like his dad.

His movies are much more psychological horror whereas his dad's were more ur slasher-type horror.

He spends pretty much all his free time with his friends and family, his own home is basically abandoned 90% of the time.

Often helps Ashley go over her writing as well.

Him and Jess drive out into the woods at random times to walk and chat, usually trading updates on their friends' lives and stuff.

Mike

Sort of like Jess, he just does whatever.

I can see him working with dogs tbh, maybe with Sam at the shelter. He deals with the larger breeds specifically.

He has a collie dog he goes everywhere with pretty much.

He also likes to show up and bother Em at her work. Lol.

Matt

He becomes a P.E teacher at the same place Beth is a music teacher.

He often goes to Blackwood when Hannah's there and they ski and hike together.

He goes on roadtrips with Ashley and Josh, he's usually driving while they get pictures and stuff for inspiration. They have gotten lost a LOT.

Chris

He does app design, most of his work is from home.

He's often with Josh, and does help with any technical stuff for Josh.

Ashley and Josh like to drag him out into the sun every now and again, because otherwise he would likely happily sit behind a screen all day.

David: Ballet

My man likes rules and ballet has those rules. He was the best at partner work and lifted those girlies into the air with no problem. The pack teases him abt it sometimes but angel loves it. They constantly ask him to teach them variations.

Asher: Classic Jazz/Hip-hop

I think he was enrolled in jazz classes as a kid and really enjoyed it. Later on, he thought hip-hop was really cool so he watched a bunch of videos on it. yes, self-taught hip-hopper ash. he's an absolute beast at clubs and definitely dances to the songs playing at grocery stores.

Milo: BALLROOM PLEASE HE'S LITERALLY PERFECT FOR THIS ARE YOU KIDDING? He loved every aspect of it: the style, the costumes, the competition, EVERYTHING. He was really good at it too, he won like 90% of the competitions we was in. He definitely had a massive rivalry with another person and was petty abt it.

Vincent: Contemporary Ballet

not necessarily ballet but it has a certain artistic element that he enjoys. He took a few classes as a kid and then enrolled in some classes at his college. I just think that he would be really good at it and it's not super traditional.

Sam: Country Western

my guy is from the south what did you expect? anyways he went to a lot of shindigs as a kid and then went to country clubs in college. He's goated at partnering too. he spins his partners around and lifts them into the air with ease. Even tho darlin is made of steel he can still pull crazy stunts.

William: Ballet

He's literally from France and was the reason why Tchaikovsky wrote the Nutcracker. He KNOWS his stuff.

Gavin: Jazz 

Okay a bit different, but I think that he enjoys the more mature jazz/theatre. Like cabaret, chicago, and moulin rouge. he LIVES for that shit. fosse is his idol bro. he occasionally surprises freelancer with a little number lol

Damien: Ballet

my man went far with this like he was GOOD. He was definitely enrolled in a professional company before he went to damn. He was super particular about every move and argued with people during variations. He even got annoyed at the girls he was paired with because they weren't certain moves correctly. The other dancers didn't like him very much, but those russian ballet teachers did, and that's why he got so many good roles in the shows he was in.

Lasko: Musical theatre

okay, hear me out here. he's a show tunes guy. he loves newsies, grease, and hamilton and was for sure a theatre kid before his powers manifested. Like can you imagine how cute that is? he's a little bit embarrassed about it but when freelancer asks him about it he pulls out the old CDs. pls so cute

Huxley: Rhythmic tap

no not theatre tap like he goes hard with the rhythms. you really wouldn't expect it but you can sometimes catch him tapping when he's sitting or waiting in line. he's an absolute beast at it.

Caelum: Lyrical

he loves all of Maddie Ziegler's solos. the likes how much emotion is put into every move and gets very invested in the stories he tells through the movement. he also really likes all the pretty costumes.

anyways this is all just my opinion and I miss dancing a little bit. :P

I cannot for the life of me remember where the vision for this ship came from, but all I know is that one night, me and Lexi Moon sat in a call for hours talking about how this all starts in a Lowe's parking Lot.

The short version: Midnight Cravings refers to the pairing between Sam, Asher, and David.

No, I'm not kidding when I say this all starts in a Lowe's parking lot (/lh). In the version of canon for this pairing, "Angel" and "Baaabe" aren't present, meaning Asher and David are still roommates/living together. They're best friends who are both pining but far too scared to actually make a move one way or the other. Now, on one fateful night, Sam and Asher meet formally for the first time. Ash is leaving the store, having been there to pick something up for the apartment. As he's leaving, he spots Sam and is like "Hey, I think I know you! You're one of the vampires from the Solaire clan, right?" Meanwhile, Sam is like "...Who are you?" "Asher. Beta of the Shaw Pack." "..." "What...?" "I just… I thought you'd look… more… I don't know" "Like what~? Are you saying I don't look like a sexy lumberjack?" "That is not what I meant." But Sam's laughing, so you already know the vibes are there (/pos).

The two get to talking for a good bit in the parking lot until the lights start to go out/the store is closing for the night. Asher asks Sam if he'll need any help with his purchases, essentially offering to help unload stuff if Sam wants. Which is how Asher ends up at the residence of the southern vamp. While the two are at his place, the southern hospitality is out in full force. Sam offers Ash something to drink, the two pick up their conversation from before— which eventually drifts to David. Based on how Asher's talking about him, Sam assumes and asks if David and Asher are dating. However, Asher quickly sets the record straight, clarifying that they're friends. It's obvious that admitting that is complicated, and Asher tries to play it off as more of a joke, saying something along the lines of "Sometimes, I just wish I could forget, you know?" (About what? Yes.)

So what does Sam do? Offers to be a distraction.

It starts out tame enough. Music is put on, Sam offers to cook if Asher hasn't had anything to eat, and they're both subtly flirting with each other. Asher, wanting to be proactive, asks directly what things are going to look like between the two of them. Sam replies with something along the lines of "You tell me, Pup. I'm down for whatever you're feeling up to— Whether that's tonight or down the line."

Almost immediately after that, Asher gets a text from David. Originally, Ash had been gone to go to the store. While he's known to get distracted and such, it had been long enough that David was starting to get worried. ou can see the complicated feelings clouding Asher's face in real time, the pining, the sadness, the frustration— Sam takes the phone from Asher's hand and sets it face down. "Look at me. You get to call the shots tonight. You want out of your head? Tell me what you want." And Asher is looking. Sam texts back "Ran into a friend, don't wait up. I'll tell you tomorrow." And when Asher looks at him again, he's smiling but with an apparent, underlying sadness. "I want to forget. Please." And it's easy for Ash to fall into this because instead of dealing with all the pining and chasing after David, he's fully in the present.

Now all that right there? Night one. Consider that the appetizer to all that the ship offers/becomes later on. Sam and Asher keep up this situationship/friends with benefits-esque dynamic for awhile, enjoying the bond shared. While this is all going on, David is starting to notice the shifter's new bond with the vampire, and it's stirring up all kinds of emotions in him for obvious reasons. To try and condense some of my remaining thoughts:

You get Asher and David being pining dumbasses while Sam watches with a near constant internal sigh at them both

Down the line, Sam brings up that he really likes Asher, which is reciprocated of course. But he also points out that he can tell Asher is clearly in love with David, which Ash deflects terribly. ("Psh, what? I don't— That's not even true anymore, we're just—" "How long ya gonna stand here playing this game?")

I think Sam "Can y'all act right?" Collins is a menace. He can see David and Asher's pining from a mile away and he's seen it up close from Asher. However, David is hesitating to make a move/pursue/do anything about his feelings. So Sam's gonna have fun with that

Have I mentioned how much I adore Sam in this pairng? Because listen— You can argue it's a bit out of character, but I think Sam can be a lot "meaner" and direct than most people give him credit for (just look at Imperium, hello? /pos) Like I love chewing on Sam's demeanor for this dynamic >>>. It's not possessive because he's more than willing to share Asher. It's basically Sam/David playing a game of chicken except it's got a "Yes and?" vibe. Sam's baiting David, sending signals that "You want in on this? Show it then." Meanwhile, David's just further digging himself a hole because he absolutely wants in— Not just with Asher but Sam as well— But is convincing himself he shouldn't be there.

I will stop myself here because otherwise, I will be here forever. But I hope you enjoyed this lengthy answer, Aether!

Davey: I feel like he would play the Guitar, specifically lead. In his free time (not that he has much) he would pick up his guitar that Asher got him (this is not canon, just a head canon of mine) and just start playing it.

Asher: Drums, just drums. I feel like when he was in high school, he was in band and was handed drum sticks and the teacher says “why don’t you go try out the drums?” and Asher just sat down and was just ✨amazing✨ at it.

Milo: Milo… I feel like he would play the piano. Like if he was a music store with Asher to get him new drum sticks, he would just sit in front of a piano and just play it beautifully!

Idea number one (probable):

Dean holds a funeral

It's private, ritualistic. Sam is laid to rest like a king, his only court a brother whose hands are splintery from building the pyre.

The music is slow and sweet, a tender goodbye. Tears are shed, one at a time.

Then Dean gets into the car and starts driving

Maybe he drives forever, never sure whether he's running towards something or away

Maybe he finds a woman, and maybe he tells her what's in his past and maybe he doesn't, but there's always something missing from their house with the picket fence. After all, you can't have Americana without Uncle Sam.

Maybe he keeps hunting, desperation in every swing of a blade

Maybe he dies, somewhere on the road between states, an angry ghost or whiskey behind the wheel or a gun.

Maybe the Roadhouse never burns and he moves in next to Ash

Maybe he stays with Bobby

Regardless: still beautiful, still Dean Winchester, no longer quite whole

Because it was always hard to tell where he ended and Sam began, and Death did not take care to divide them cleanly

The guitar center I went to today was one of the worst I've ever been in, there was a loud beep every few min amplified throughout the store. There were tons of families there to buy their 12 year old kid their first guitar and making tons of noise-- it's a music store so i go in expecting noise but this was overwhelming & abrasive. It was an assault upon the senses. I was looking for a short scale bass and of course they didn't have any, I started trying out mediums and one that I took off the wall to try didn't have a bridge set up properly and two of the strings didn't make any sound, priced at $450. Unbelievable that a store manager would put up inventory like that but it's guitar center so their store managers probably havent had a raise in like 10 years so what do they care. There were also piles of open boxes everywhere?? We also tried Sam Ash and they had the exact same medium scale basses set at the exact same prices.... lmao
