In 2019 I conceptualized the duo show "Full Circle" to represent the stages of a relationship from beginning to end. It showed at the Reclaimed Room which is an exhibition space within SF Building Resources, a cornerstone of the recycling community in the Bay Area. It sits on one acre in the industrial outer Bayview full of wonderful salvageable materials to be reclaimed for a good price. It is one of the few places I frequent when my inventory of donated objects runs low and I was thrilled to be offered a show in the gallery. If you say that you have nothing to lose, you mean that it is worth taking a risk because you would be no worse off if you fail, but you might gain some benefit if you succeed. When a Kennebunk family needed a forever home, the old farmhouse and barn that stood on their property wasn’t going to cut it. The architects at @calebjohnsonstudio salvaged everything they could from the old buildings, including the timber roof structure, interior wood cladding, and interior doors. Additionally, the architects also claimed cabinetry and fixtures from a midcentury home that was being torn down in Weston, Massachusetts. By incorporating such materials into the new home’s design, they were able to create a modern farmhouse with soul.
