Picture Day
Tee Higgins x Chase!Reader
Desc: You start getting antsy 5 weeks postpartum and find something to do with your hands.
TW: nothing too bad, mostly fluff.
Princess Ti | Main Masterlist
WC: about 1k
*✿❀ *. ꕥ * · ❀✿*
The buzz from your clippers fed your creative soul. You had only come in the salon to reminisce and take some time to yourself while your baby girl naps. You couldn't help but miss the chatter of clientele and the smell of coconut oil usually in the air. The pristine white counters in front of each station were completely bare, only each counter’s handheld hair dryer sticking out of the black cubbies.
Sitting in front of the first station, you think back to when your husband asked you what you really wanted in your home. It was a ballsy ask, in your opinion; you weren’t even sure what he meant by it. But he said you could turn the basement into whatever you wanted. It baffled you because you thought he’d want a man cave to escape the realities of marriage. That’s what your dad did, so you thought it was normal to think so.
So you tossed around the idea of taking on more personal and private clients in a home suite. A month later, he pleasantly surprised you with a fully furnished and functional home salon. It resembled a mini version of your main salon in the city. There is nothing that man wouldn't do for you.
After giving birth, Tee kicked into full dad mode. When he said your only job once Tiana was born was to just take care of her, he did not go back on his word. He's been an absolutely phenomenal father and partner, always taking her when you need a break, making sure you eat and stay hydrated, and even getting up during the night to calm her down. Him and your brother are literally upstairs putting together a new nursery glider so your morning feedings can be cozier.
Maybe that's why you're so antsy. You were so used to always caring for others; now that someone is holding you down the same way, you don't know what to do with yourself. You don't even cook anymore. Your mom has been handling all the meals so you can take time and heal. Everything they were doing was amazing, and you deeply appreciated it, but damn, you were bored.
The sound of your phone buzzing made your train of thought drown.
Bigheaded Dumbass🐧
we're done with yo fancy ass chair, come see it while Titi still sleep

You thought about going back upstairs for a minute, but a different idea caught your attention.

Great, just when you thought you'd be able to do your own thing, your little brother goes and fucks it up before it happens.
Oh well, you shrugged and walked over to the back of the salon for your supplies to set up for Ja'Marr's haircut. You grabbed an apron for you and a barber cape for him (even though you should let him be itchy for threatening to snitch), your black pro clippers, a razor, a number 1 and 2 comb, some holding spray, and a brush. Then, set up your chair.
Minutes later, you were all ready, and your client walked in with your husband.
"Y/n, what are you doing?" He asked with an amused smirk on his face.
"I'm giving my brother the haircut he so desperately needs." You smile back, patting the back of the chair for J to sit down.
"You're supposed to be resting." He crosses his arms as you drape the cape over your brother.
Smirking, you untie your apron and walk up to your husband with your hands on your hips. "Look at me, babe." You slowly spin around to give him an eyeful of your postpartum baby body.
"I see you, mamas. Trust me, I see you." The very nice thing about everyone making sure you take care of yourself these last few weeks has been your ability to prioritize your "snap back." You weren't working out to get to a certain shape. You were just prioritizing strengthening your core, which meant some belly binding, light ab exercises, and self-care. You were nowhere near your pre-baby weight, but you liked the extra curves, and someone else did too.
"You can't just expect me to just sit down and wait for Tiana to wake up. I gotta keep my body active, practice my trade."
He knew you were saying words, but ever since that apron came off, his mind was somewhere else. "Oh, I know how you can get active."
"Alright, y'all just nasty. Am I getting my hair done or what?" Ja'Marr groans from behind you.
"Yea Tee, you gon' let me work or what?" You say, biting your lip.
He takes a deep breath and shakes his head. "Fine," he says, pulling a waiting chair over to the corner of your area. The 6-week rule playing over and over in his mind.
"Good, now let's get to work. Don't worry babe, you're next." You chirp, picking up the brush to begin the haircut.
But Ja'Marr jerks his head away. "Ay, Y/n don't go too rough now."
You can't help but snort. "Yes, yes, I know. You too tenderheaded for my skills."

i just booked a hair appointment and now my tummy hurts because i have never been to a salon without my mommy or one of my titis :(
#op#i need a hair cut bc i fucked up my bangs and want it shaggier anyway#if not for that i wouldn’t go to a salon i only go for haircuts . and i proved why by fucking up my bangs LMFAO#it’s not too noticeable at least#like i make the appointment for friday so i have time to dye it first and so taylor can go with me#so it’s not an urgent matter#on that note i have to give my hair a break from color it’s gotten so damaged but like. it’s not unsaveable#i have tasked taylor and kell with not letting me even think of coloring it until after christmas once i dye it similar to my natural color#a good haircut might help my hair some too like i think i’ll be okay if i just leave it alone for a few months </3#no more dying my hair every time i’m sad or feeling impulsive… rip

Nani Meet 🌍: Intermission✨
4:30pm: Arrived at Crowned Nailz
Demi and I finally arrive at the Nail Salon. When we get inside London (my favorite nail tech) tells me our tab was paid by a secret admirer and directs us to our seats. She also said they delivered a cart of goodies and roses. I couldn’t help but to try to figure out who sent it, so I posted a boomerang of my gifts. It only took two minutes for my bd to swipe up. His response was the receipts followed by “hope you enjoy😘.” Before I could even give the message a thought, my phone dinged loudly from a message: New Message From: Samara✨ - “Last night was great, thank you for the gift😊. Looking forward to Sunday!” We continued to chat for few more minutes before I leaned back enjoying my pedicure.
**Loud Message Notification**
5:15pm// New Message From: BabyFatha❤️🔥-“Leaving me on seen is crazy✌🏾.”
I rolled my eyes as I read the notification. I will reap the benefits of the gifts but I’m not too interested in going down that road. I want to keep enjoying getting ready for my date with Samara. Our previous encounters were fun, which is making me nervous. I hate being out of the loop, so since I don’t know I’ll occupy as much time, which is why today was so booked.
As I responded to incoming messages I felt eyes on me. A quick glance to the right revealed they were Demi’s eyes. She had been preoccupied with catching up with London, eating cupcakes, and free wine. I didn’t even notice her watching. When she realized I caught her she busted out laughing. “Can you make your font bigger.. it’s a little hard to see!” she shouted. I rolled my eyes and handed her my phone, there’s nothing too surprising in there. Not surprisingly, she started a FaceTime call. The only person she’s looking for is Kaos, and as soon as the thought crossed my mind “TITI!” Kaos screamed into the phone. I just won’t be seeing my phone for the next hour. After listening to them for a moment I got up and shouted walking out the door “I’m getting chipotle! Better hurry!” Before I even reached the parking lot Demi ran passed rushing to the car.

JEUDI 20 JUIN À 18 H 30 AU 4E LIEU LES CONFÉRENCES ARTISTIQUES DU CONSERVATOIRE : OPÉRETTE CHEZ OFFENBACH Par Laurent Ronzon, directeur du Conservatoire Claude Debussy

I'm 28.
I’m 28.
Yesterday was my birthday and I can’t believe how blessed I am.
I’m always happy for my birthday but this year I had a lot of surprises waiting for me! Titigave me as a birthday present a new version of me! Last Sunday we went to the beauty salon and had our hair done. Now it’s straight with little to no effort and I must say that it’s really comfy to be able to sleep one more hour every morning…

More Than A Number: Blog 3
This is a continuation of the list made on the first blog post of black trans women who have been killed due to violence against the trans community and how the media fails to justly represent them.
Titi Gulley
Titi Gulley, also known as Tete, was 31 years old. She was loved by her family. She lived in Portland, Oregon. She was a cheerful, helpful, and loving person according to her friends and family. Her mother Kenya Robinson says that she always wanted to help out. She would offer to cook, do her mother’s nails, or take out that trash. She was also at the time trying to make a better life for herself.
One way the media has failed Titi is by failing to represent her story in a timely manner. Unfortunately, it wasn’t until George Floyd’s death that the media felt her death was important enough to report and even then, the reports are very insignificant. Most of her story is based off of rumors and barely anything is mentioned about her life. She is mostly depicted as a homeless trans woman. So much is unclear about her preferred pronouns, the actual spelling of her name, or even how she truly identified.
***
Chanel Scurlock
Chanel Scurlock was 23 years old. She was remembered by a friend as “living her life as she wanted” and being “unapologetically correct about her feelings and expectations of herself.” According to ZORA, Chanel aspired to be a makeup artist and clothing designer. She had goals to eventually “formally study fashion at an institution.” She was very loved by her mother and the two were “nearly together everyday.”
Denali Berries Stuckey
Denali Berries Stuckey was 29 years old. She is remembered by her family. “I lost my best friend” wrote her cousin. According to ZORA, Denali is remember in many ways by her loved ones - “her devotion to her family, her outgoing personality, her unique style, and her dancing.” She had a passion for cooking and loved not only cooking, but eating soul food. She was a nail technician and “hoped someday to open her own hair and nail salon.” She had a close relationship with her mother and was described by her mother as a person who “had a nice personality, was loving and caring.”
One way the media has failed Chanel and Denali is by continuously misgendering and misnaming them. According to the Human Rights Campaign, both the police and media continued to misgender Chanel “even after being made aware of her transgender identity.” Denali as well was misgendered and misnamed in initial reports of coverage of the crime. Not only is this blatantly disrespectful but it really emphasizes the impertinent treatment that the transgender community face too often in our society.
***
Zoe Spears
Zoe Spears was 23 years old. According to Ruby Corado, a transgender advocate and founder of Casa Ruby, Zoe was “very bright and very full of life.” Zoe viewed both Ruby and Ruby’s fiancé, Shannon Wilkins, as a mother and father. According to ZORA, Ruby and Shannon shared a love of hero movies, specifically Avengers: Endgame. When she was living at Casa Ruby, she enjoyed eating pizza and listening to her favorite rap artist, Snow Tha Product. You can tell Zoe was such a kind and infectious person as Ruby says that she “couldn’t help but love her. She was just so much fun, and I couldn’t resist her personality.”
One way the media has failed Zoe and many other transgender women, especially black transgender women, is by exploiting their deaths. Specifically, in Zoe’s case gruesome details of her death were shared and the narrative of her story often unnecessarily mentions that she was a sex worker. Many details speaking about these women are more about their deaths, how they died, and what led to their deaths than remembering them.
***
Brooklyn Lindsey
Brooklyn Lindsey was 32 years old. She is mourned and missed by her friends and family. According to ZORA, Brooklyn “was best known for being bubbly and upbeat.” Kris Wade, the director of The Justice Project of Kansas City, remembers Brooklyn to be a “very, very, sweet person. [She had a] very sweet nature. Funny. Intelligent. She understood common courtesy, the art of conversation.” She was very loved as others recall her in the same way and as well as woman who left a positive impression.
One way the media has failed Brooklyn is by barely having any information about her seen in the media and even how she is so insignificantly portrayed. There is a huge double standard when it comes to how society tends to represents a white male in the media who has been killed verses a black trans woman who has been killed. You often hear about the man’s life, what he accomplished, and how successful he was, but for for many trans women, and especially black trans women, you do not hear that whatsoever. You only hear about their struggles and what lead them to their death often forgetting to focus on the fact that these women are more than that. People have to go out of their way to find even the smallest amount of information when it comes to the passing of a person in the trans community.
***
Tracy Single
Tracy Single was 22 years old. She is remembered by Monica Roberts, a Houston-based transgender advocate, who says that Tracy was “taken away from us way too soon.” According to ZORA, Tracy loved makeup and fashion. She would style her friends for drag as well as fashion shows and experimented “with nontraditional ways to create fun new looks for herself and her friends.” Courtney Sellers, the executive director of MGP (an evening drop-in center for youth experiencing homelessness and housing insecurity), says that Tracy was “so confident. I really admired that about her. She truly lived her life in a way that I wish I could live my own — without fear of being judged.”
The media has failed Tracy and many others by labeling her as a number. Tracy is mainly seen as the “16th trans person to be murdered in the US.” So many news outlets and articles number these women to create a shocking effect to the public but in turn sacrifices respectfully remembering these women as individuals. When you think about it would you rather be remembered as a number that seems to unfortunately be increasing or as a person who lived a full life. For me, and I’m sure anyone, would rather be remembered by the details of their life than be grouped into a statistic.

After the Spring Festival Gala, Faye Wong and her stylist made headlines again (2018)
Faye Wong and her stylist have made headlines again. The last time was at the Spring Festival Gala. This time it was for a fashion show. However, the heavenly queen was not there to see the show. Instead, she participated in a catwalk for a private collection released by her stylist.
There was no media invited and no press releases sent out. However, Faye Wong’s makeup artist, Zing, uploaded videos where she was dubbed the guest of the fashion show. The news spread quickly on the strength and ability of the heavenly queen’s power. As the saying goes, “old ginger is hotter than young ginger.”
As you can see from the video, it was a private show for select clients. There was no such thing as a front row. There were people standing, some people sat in chairs, and some simply sat on the floor. There was no T-stage. The models walked from the outdoors into the room. When Faye wore a red robe and walked, she smiled and shouted out “move aside”. This shows how relaxed the atmosphere was.
In another look, Faye wore a purple cloak and also wrapped a scarf on her head and wore colored sunglasses. With her hands in her pockets, her temperament and aura can clearly be seen. However, when she uttered the phrase “sidetracked” with a strong northeast accent, the cold atmosphere turned warm in an instant.
Titi Kwan’s design concept of this season’s 2018 private custom collection named “Heart” was interpreted on his studio’s Weibo as:
Early morning, sky, gardens, fairies, gardeners, sickles, insects, mushrooms… The scene is vivid, the rising sun rises, daydreams stop, and eventually return to reality. Titi’s daydreams are described in 28 styles, an inner fantasy world full of his own, full of elven gardens.
Faye Wong’s catwalk cannot be regarded as something new. Instead, it should be called a return to her old career. After she came to Hong Kong at the age of 18, her first job was not singing. Instead, she first entered model training courses and then became a model. She only worked as a model for a short period of six months. Since her singing career took off, this past is rarely mentioned.
Although she is not a professional model, she has the long legs, physique, and cool temperament for high fashion. Faye Wong has firmly been on the Mainland and Hong Kong’s most stylish throne for more than 20 years. If Faye Wong herself is an excellent fashion player, then Zing, the queen’s makeup artist and Titi Kwan, the queen’s stylist, helped to cultivate her look behind the scenes. For more than 20 years, almost all of Faye Wong’s classic and stunning looks have come from the golden touch of these two artists.
The most recent collaboration was at this year’s Spring Festival Gala. Faye wore a sleek purple dress that was designed by Titi Kwan. The pair of purple “dishwashing” gloves was Titi Kwan’s exclusive vintage selection from Paris.
Although each mention of Titi Kwan will inevitably link his name with Faye Wong, he is not a storyless stylist. He was one of the first Chinese stylists to develop in the Paris fashion industry. He rarely accepts interviews with the media. From the few interviews that can be found, we can piece together his trajectory of fashion development.
His father is a well-known tailor and was an influence on him. He showed off his talent in fashion design early on. When he was 14 years old, he went to Paris to be an apprentice for women’s clothing. He realized that the differences between Paris and Hong Kong’s fashion culture triggered his incentive to stay in Paris and to delve into the world’s top fashion.
At the age of 18, Titi Kwan went to work in a famous hair salon in Paris. Seeing that his boss received a month’s salary for advertising makeup work, he decided to attend Christian Chauveau, a famous makeup school in Paris. After that, he attended Studio BerCot Fashion School, one of the three major fashion design institutes in Paris. This experience laid an important foundation for him to successfully enter the fashion industry in Paris.
In the 1990s, he returned to Hong Kong and met Faye Wong, who was rising up. He started working with Faye on her 1995 album “The Decadent Sounds of Faye,” and became one of the contributors to the legendary “Faye Wong” image.
When Faye Wong opened her concert tour in 1998, she rose from the ground to the air in a red cloak-style coat. The clothes were from Martine Sitbon – Martine Sitbon was Titi Kwan’s fellow student at Studio BerCot.
From 2003 to 2004, Faye held a series of “Faye Unusual" concerts. Titi Kwan went to France and other European countries to purchase pieces and fabrics for the concerts six months ahead of schedule. He successfully gained the sponsorship of Vivienne Westwood. The 10-inch high-heeled shoes were not for sale and Faye was allowed to wear them at her concert.
In 2003, Faye released the MV for “Leave Nothing”, with vintage gothic visuals. The designer of the dress was French designer Madeleine Vionnet. She pioneered the “bias cut” method that still affects generations of fashion designers. Karl Lagerfeld, Miyake, Jean-Paul Gaultier, John Galliano, Vivienne Westwood and other design masters are her "fans.”
Because of his successful cooperation with Faye Wong, Titi Kwan met a lot of Hong Kong artists and began to transform from stylist to designer. When Josie Ho married in 2003, she asked Titi Kwan to create a wedding dress for her. The value of the wedding dress was more than 2 million Hong Kong dollars. The embroidery was created by Chanel and made by the artisans of LeSage, the national treasure embroidery workshop. It took one and a half months of production to complete.

Which designer has such a big reputation, that he even got Faye Wong to make a guest appearance in his fashion show? (2018)
In recent years, the very low-key Faye Wong has rarely made public appearances. Even invitations to mainland variety shows have been rumored to be as high as 100 million yuan. However, yesterday both on Instagram and Weibo, photos and videos spread wildly of Faye representing a brand. Which brand has such a big reputation, that it even got Faye Wong?
In the video uploaded by Faye’s makeup artist Zing, Faye wore a red robe and walked into the house at a brisk pace from the outside garden. The people holding cellphones in front of the house blocked the way and Faye funnily told them to “move aside”. This video spread wildly on the Internet yesterday. Everyone said the heavenly queen had the manner of a fashion model.
In fact, Faye was a guest model for the new collection by designer Titi Kwan. Those who know Faye well should not be unfamiliar with the name of Titi Kwan. He is the advisor of Faye Wong’s queen image. Titi Kwan is a fashionista who developed in Paris, France. He once attended Studio BerCot, one of the most famous fashion design institutes in Paris. In 1995, because of an opportunity of coincidence, he became Faye’s image designer. Since then, the two have had close cooperation, and in private they are also close friends who understand each other. Although this time, Faye Wong only changed into two sets of clothing, she has already shown her love and trust in Titi Kwan. I do not know if the two will collaborate again. What kind of surprise will they bring us?

Tu as dû te demander pourquoi. #apreskitour #CCAS #UNiT
