So in my troubles of finding a new phone there's an experience I want to talk about from last night. The one that led me to what I've found is almost certainly the plan my family is gonna go for.
I've been scouring the phone service providers for weeks now trying to find the best way to get a new phone, because even used phones are so expensive and the only way to get 3 new phones (me, my sister, and my mom all need new ones, our current ones are breaking down in our hands) is by getting a promo with a service provider. My mom's current provider has nothing for existing customers looking to add new lines, so I've been looking at who to switch to. I delayed looking at Verizon because I assumed they'd be pricy but after last night I found they have exactly what we need. I found this deal, and almost didn't, because of 2 chat agents - Shaira and David
So, one thing I found during this search is that all the cell provider websites are a nightmare to navigate. I just can't do it. I get lost and overwhelmed too easily and the chat feature lets me find exactly what I should be looking for because I get a person there to help me. I was using Verizon's chat to find what I needed and it was a little frustrating because I got transferred a bunch, but there were 2 sales agents that I spoke to. The first was David. I could tell David was a trained salesman. He was immediately trying to sell me things. His first message to me had 3 questions and then after I had answered them he gave me a very long message of his recommendation for their most expensive plan. I wanted to ask about the cheaper plans but I didn't get a chance because I first wanted to ask that he go through things one thing at a time with me to not overwhelm me. It was a really simple request, one question at a time. And then he transferred me to customer care. I don't know what he expected them to do. But I was close to giving up with Verizon because those prices were too far out of our budget.
Then after another transfer I got to Shaira. Shaira spoke well but I could tell by a few slip ups and just the way she spoke that English was her 2nd language. I told her to please not transfer me because I didn't wanna be in a transfer loop, and that I get overwhelmed so please take things slow. And she was very understanding! She was kind and assured me she could do that! So we went, one item at a time. She never sent really long messages with too much information to handle. She made everything easy to understand and helped me find the most incredible plan that was incredibly affordable and would get us 3 free phones, even if me and my sister have never had phone numbers. She didn't try and throw everything at me. I wonder, was she not trained to be an annoying sales agent or is she just more experienced? Does she know from experience that when you're looking for something cheap, you won't be convinced to take the plus or premium option because it's out of your budget? Or is she just intuitively good at finding what YOU need and not giving you the most expensive thing? I don't know but either way I wish I could hug her she was so very kind. I gave her a full 5 out of 5 on the performance review and wrote a long paragraph about why she was amazing. And I'm aware I was needing extra support, so it really did mean a lot that she was so helpful and didn't throw way too much at me all at once.
So basically shoutout to Shaira the verizon chat agent for being the most helpful and kind chat agent at Verizon that I got to speak to, she should get a raise and promotion. Sales agents should be like Shaira and find what you need instead of trying to sell expensive stuff to you immediately. Let you explain your situation first and then find a match based on that. And most of all be kind and understanding for customers who need just a little more support and to go slow. Thank you Shaira.

Made cookies in the middle of the day while making calls to potential clients, sometimes like is like a pan of cookies, I ain't got no analogy, but who wants to buy land? 😂
ok. applied for this job at the same place i considered applying to a month ago but i chickened out of the interview bc i was definitely underqualified and worried about embarrassing myself. HOWEVER this job is just customer service. answering the phone and emails and all that. sitting 40 hours a week in an office sounds miserable but i suppose i already sit all the time at home anyway. also it pays 15 an hour and any lower than that in this economy is basically nothing.
ok i hope they hire me 🙏 maybe in the future i'll find a better job but i need Something for right now.
