Finding out that my 3x great grandfather (some random German immigrant with a mustache named Emil) was best friends with Mexican president Porfirio Diaz was so fcking funny to me. Like they were bros and Emil was just chilling and brewing beer and meanwhile Diaz is fcking people up and being a dictator and he was like, “Homie can you run a brewery for me?” And my ancestor was like nope and dipped out and went back to Texas. Not to mention that this was 1898 so I just imagine a scene from RDR2.
