Shah Rukh Khan Hilariously Mocks Star Entourage Culture: ‘Why Do You Need Seven People

In a candid 1991 interview with Stardust, Shah Rukh Khan humorously mocked the concept of entourages around movie stars, a practice that seemed absurd to him when he first entered the film industry. Before making his debut, SRK had been shooting in Mumbai for a month and was taken aback by the lavish attention stars received. He joked about the idea of people surrounding him to hold his tea, tie his shoelaces, and even hold an umbrella. "Why? I’m not a f**king retard," he quipped, adding that he had tied his shoelaces before entering the film industry and would continue to do so on his own.

The actor also shared his surprise at being told to throw a tantrum if the AC in his makeup room wasn’t working to ensure producers didn’t take him for granted.
