I think what bothers me about the harding/davrin choice is that it's not really a choice? in me1 when you have to sacrifice kaidan or ashley virmire, you 100% know you're doing that, the game tells you. and in me2 when you're doing the suicide mission, you know that whoever you pick is gonna be in imminent danger. with the harding/davrin choice, the peril isn't really communicated, and then ~30 minutes later it just happens. and not even while they're staying back and holding the line as ordered, you've already reunited by the time the scripted death happens. the game just relegates them to a part of the cutscene that gets them killed. and you either care enough to load and change it or you don't.

I am a woman with way too grandiose dreams regarding her writing considering this fanfic is gonna be the first time I ever feel like I Finished a story, capital F. This thing is 27k words and reads like a 12 chaptered novel (although I'm going to upload it as just a oneshot bc it feels weird to break the flow otherwise) and like sure, I've written plenty of decent oneshots in the past and even some of my unfinished multi-chap works are pretty good but...

But this feels way more real.
