Gray, brand new to town, sees a woman on the opposite side of the bar that makes him feel sick - in a good way, though. But that only raises the big problem: how to introduce yourself when making small talk makes you also feel sick, but in a bad way. She had a glass of wine in her hand, but she wasn’t drinking it. There was no sort of sign that she was waiting for anyone, and it was hard to tell if she was simply people-watching like I was or if she was deep in thought.

Yeah, she was gorgeous, but it honestly didn’t matter if she wasn’t, because there was something about her that just drew you in. Commanded attention. Maybe it was those sharp eyes or air of confidence she gave off. Hell if I know.

I did know one thing.

I had to know her name.

But asking for someone’s name means you have to talk to them. Introductions and stuff. I hate all that. I don’t think it would be a stretch of the imagination to say that I’m the worst person at small talk you would ever meet.

But for some stupid reason, I wanted to know what she called herself. I wanted to hear her say it with her own lips. I wanted to know if she had that silly twang that everyone in this area seemed to have. I wanted to know if she talked like the people in the city I grew up in.

I wanted to know if she was bored here, too.

Her bright green eyes latched onto mine, and that’s when I felt it.

The awful pang in my stomach and chest.

I wanted to sink into the floor and vanish, but at the same time, the idea that I had her attention gave me that awful jittery, giddy feeling. Butterflies in my stomach? I’m pretty sure that’s what people call it. I think I’m just going to call it what it is – nausea.

I’m thinking I will marry Cliff ultimately so I achieve the trifecta of marrying him in both Mineral Town games and DS Cute (where I need to get to romancing again XD)

My ex-fiancee is basically Ran irl and I only realized the other day.  She and I are still friends though only platonic and nowhere near as close as we used to be...

And Gray is... trying to get some I guess? haha, can’t stay the night sir that would be improper of me!  We’d be the talk of the town and Grampa Saibara would have your ass!!!

i read this really insightful post by @thesmileykate and it made me realize how sunrise on the reaping adds a whole new layer to snow’s “convince me.” katniss easily “convinced” the majority of panem and all of the capitol of her love for peeta in the 74th games. but not snow, because he thinks all covey women are deceiving to their lovers. he thought there was no possible way katniss truly loved peeta. he wanted to believe all of her choices were for her own self-preservation. but when he saw katniss’s reaction to peeta’s heart stopping in the quarter quell his belief about covey women was proven incorrect. and once peeta was captured he knew he couldn’t take away katniss’s love for peeta, but he could take away peeta’s love for katniss.
