It was a big help and a lot of fun!#we really did recreate what is going on in the drawing!#also thanks to snails muffin and terror for the animation pointers & terminology#Smear frames were def the way to go! Not whatever I was trying to do before asking for help#I guess this counts as my first *real* animation so hooray!#I *might* use some of the remaining prompts for future drawings but at this point I have other things I want to work on#even though I was only able to finish a few of these I felt like I still learned a lot#it definitely got me into the habit of drawing every day#and I'm still doing that so this event was a big win in my book!#and no joke I really did color pick from the load cursor just so I could do the silly spinning thing

Still very wild to me when people try to gotcha Jason with the whole "if you can kill other people for being evil why can't they kill you" when jason is like. One of the most passively suicidal characters I've ever seen. What if man

to be quite honest shadow's characterization in the fsa manga was always something that raised more questions than answers for me because it's like. he's got a mile-wide inferiority complex about being link's shadow we all know this but when did he have the time to develop that inferiority complex in the first place. how long was he lurking around after ganon created him before the events of the manga actually started. what did he witness or hear or both to make him so fucking angry
#that one post that went like 'what if you were the evil clone. what if you looked in the mirror and the brightness blinded you. what if you#saw exactly how good you could've been.' i reblogged it here a while ago but that's still the number one post i attribute to shadow#it's zelda telling him that he's a link too that spurs him to sacrifice himself. it's green telling him that he's one of them that#spurs him to finally reach towards the light. it was vio double-crossing him and verbally twisting the knife that made him so angry#that he slipped up and the four of them could finally land a hit in the first place. all this to say that shadow (like link) is extremely#emotionally-driven. for him to develop such a deep complex about being a shadow he HAD to have experienced some form of diminution#whether that diminution came from ganon himself or from potentially stalking link for a bit before shit went down#and understanding that all the things link possessed—comrades to count on (the knights). a loving father. a dear friend in zelda. a home.#a place to belong. were all things that he would never possess himself by the sheer virtue of being link's shadow instead of link himself.#i'm personally inclined to think it was a combination of both but WHATEVER it was my point is that it had to be SOMETHING.#he wouldn't have such a complex about it otherwise.#fsa#txt#four swords#<-yeah sure i'll main tag this

So I'm looking through the comments of this one video about the reveal about Wasuke being the reincarnated and this comment actually put me in my feelings.

i think the thing that gets me so bad with this last episode is that there was no consequences. everyone came back unharmed. like they fought a god of death and he was gone in like thirty minutes and everyone is vibing while eating pizza??

My biggest issue in Epic the Musical is Odysseus, actually. In this essay, I will....
#good god I hate his (lack of) character arc#if you want me to believe he is a monster then he gotta be consistently!!!! monstrous!!!#but no he is constantly allowed to be a poor pissbaby because portraying him as anything *gasp* morally dubious is bad#idk i don't know anything about the og myths but to me Epic's Odysseus bounces around between moods far too fast but he is always allowed t#reset back into what he has been from the start#none of his angst feels earned at any point because basically all the “bad choices” he's been put into have been outside of his control#except maiming the sirens and sacrificing people to scylla#which feel so out of character at that point to me because the next song he's whining to Zeus to not make him choose between him and his me#bitch if you were willing to sacrifice them two seconds ago why not now#why not have odysseus be the one to suggest sacrificing his men instead of him to show how far he is actually willing to go#but noooo his hand needs to be forced because???#at that point in the musical I feel like he should've been far more cruel so the Ithaca saga will actually feel like something#gives this man some agency to be a fucked up guy by himself. please.#it would've made the poseidon fight even more satisfying. he's capable because he has grown so cold. but no#idk maybe I'm missing the point but ugh#I saw a great comment unrelated to this that was like#“if you aren't comfortable with dark implications in your stories then don't write dark stories”#which I feel like applies here so well#epic the musical critical

I just realized I accidentally predicted Bakugou sacrificing himself for Deku when making up an AU fic in my head last year 😭
#I think i actually killed him off tho#it was a villain deku au#tho it wasnt my usual version i made up#it was its own thing based on this weird idea I had where class 1-A and Mirio were making a movie for school for some reason#it ended up becoming its own au#it was 100% a bldk au too#Izuku was living a double life as a villain and as Katsuki's innovent fiancé#katsuki was Mirio's side kick and Mirio was the hero (it was a kinda weird pairing looking back)#they were trying to find out the identify of the villain and katsuki figured out that it was izuku#he ends up purposely messing up the investigation to protect izuku#he learns the hero society had decided to kill the villain#he sacrifices himself and deku holds him as he dies#then he gets revenge and i cant remebrr if i bring katsuki back or use that as a reason for izuku to commit#im not really feeling rhat last option tho#should i write this?#i would write my other villain deku au but thats too underdeveloped for me to do it the way i want to#tho ido have a good scene i would do#oh i forgot that random members of class 1-A played different roles#like denki shinso momo and i think jirou were working for izuku for some reason (#which genuinely doesnt have anything to with the fact i ship denki and shinso and also jirou and momo#mha#mha ships#mha bakugou#mha spoilers#deku#izuku midoriya#izuku#mha izuku#bnha izuku#bakugou katsuki

I'm so glad to recruit someone else to my hepatoscopy group because it is a long and storied tradition with many many different types of study and schools of thought dating all the way back to the Sumerians! It's an extremely underrated bit of study when it comes to sketching portraits of divination and prophecy when it comes to adaptations of imaginings of greek myth works - similar to bird augury (which was such a widespread skill that most people had some level of understanding of the basics of what the omens of common birds meant the way people now can look at the clouds over head and know if it'll rain and when approximately that rain'll happen).
It's a great and common misunderstanding that things like prophecy and magic were these fantastic elements that had no tangible features to their practices and while there's nothing wrong with interpreting things as more fantastical for the sake of coolness or aesthetic, I personally think these elements are interesting enough to be worth looking into and portraying!

I love that dbd lets me explore steve and nancy's characters outside the bullshit that the show is.#because the whole steve and nancy dynamic is Interesting. but the dustbags are plagued by cerebral hetrot so that story never GOES anywhere#it's just the “Waaaah love triangle OMG!!! will they? won't they?” crap. idk man. idc. why're these dumbasses breathing in Upside down air?#some people here have seen lucy before-- he is the ghostface pictured. and he's an OC. different person entirely from danny.#I won't explain his full lore here but-- he was a drag queen before the fog who started out by only killing those who he felt deserved it.#his entire persona satirises catholicism and he calls himself “the holy ghost” rather than ghostface. the entity made him an actual devil.#he's obsessed with steve because he LIVES his own role so he sees steve as his heroic opposite or some fucked up gay shit like that.#he's clutching kate's heart because if he were a real character in the game-- he'd have two moris.#one standard... and one for if a steve is present in the lobby. the second would involve him carving out the heart of a survivor as a gift.#he never harms steve though-- so it makes steve's penchant for self-sacrifice pointless.#steve instead has to do what he can to open the gates as fast as possible-- or watch everyone else die! :)#as for the toxic yuri-- it occurred to me that sadako's backstory bears some striking similarities to barb's story.#as soon as I realised this-- it was like I had suddenly gained the ability to see a new colour I could not see before.#sadako wanting to torment nancy as sick revenge for what happened to her but using barb's death as justification for this...#...nancy being unable to escape the ghost of barb... even in this hell dimension full of terrifying monsters--#it is still the memory of the girl she feels she “let” die in steve's pool that scares and hurts her the most.#not to mention that sadako's powers are reminiscent of how the upside down related fuckery appears...#the screwy technology. the telekinesis.#I just REALLY love seeing characters be forced to confront difficult parts of themselves even if that shit REALLY hurts.#dbd makes it so easy to do that to any given character. of course this goes both ways too-- it'd force lucy & sadako to change too.#which opens the door for torment on their end too because killers who disobey the entity are tortured into obeying.#a rock and a hard place on both ends. and that is Exactly how I like it. intense. complicated-- a puzzle to be solved.

When Sanji sacrifices himself he's aware of what he's doing. He knows exactly what is at stake and how much he's given and why his act is bad to others or himself, why it must be done either way. From what I see, it's a reflection of his self-esteem and his desire to put others first, it's guilt and it's self-punishment and he knows, okay?
When Zoro sacrifices himself he's insane, batshit crazy. He doesn't want to die per se, he doesn't hate himself and doesn't do it out of punishment. His dreams are bigger than his life, they are more valuable, so he's never afraid to put his life at risk when it comes to fulfilling what he thinks his duty is. You could say it's his honor or his code of life— Zoro can survive the deadliest wounds, the worst circumstances, 'cause he doesn't seek death, it's just that he won't avoid it either.
I love that contrast and how clear it is during the encounter of Zoro and Mihawk in Baratie.
#they both live to carry other people's dreams that are also their own#Zeff's dream of finding the All Blue and Kuina's dream of becoming the best swordwoman ever#They both fight with the techniques snd experience that were passed down to them by Zeff and Kuina#The difference is that Zeff cutting his leg and giving all the food to Sanji made Sanji feel eternally guilty and unworthy#he thinks he has to sacrifice himself for others so much#Zeff hates seeing how he drags himself down when other hadn't even asked that of him#Meanwhile Kuina's death drove Zoro to go all out never fearing his death#He could die trivially in some accident like Kuina did but the difference is that Kuina died reaching for her sword#Call it whatever you want but Zoro learned from her to don't let desth stop you it can catch you whenever anyway#Fear of death can be the thing that stops you from reaching your dreams so you need to teach yourself how to live plenty#Zoro's opinion on sacrifice is closer to Luffy's#The insanity of those two#It really hurts to see Sanji around them because of that#He's position is closer to Nami's in that sense#She who sacrificed everything for her village and her people#shan blogs about one piece!#one piece anime#roronoa zoro#black leg sanji

Brings me immense joy to see the Classicvania renaissance happening lately. So much fresh love for the old games, their stories and characters pouring in and despite having moved on to the Souls fandoms myself, I just want to say how glad I am that more people are seeing the beauty of the classic CV games at last ✨️

Just finished my first playthrough of BG3. Romanced Lae'zel, but ending up turning into an Illithid because the idea of making Orpheus or Karlach do it didn't sit well with me (or my character).
I told Lae'zel to leave with Orpheus in the end (I heard she wouldn't stay with a ghaik anyway, which she's valid for, but also, it doesn't feel right to ask her to stay when I know how much her people mean to her). And like-
