FAVORITE FANFICS OF 2019
HAPPY NEW YEAR’S EVE & HAPPY 2020 TO YOU ALL.
So this was a fun post I did last year, inspired by the dozens of Favorite Books of 2018 by the booktubers I followed and I thought to myself: why not do a little something something for the fanfics that stood out to me, stuck me with throughout the year.
Last year I read insanely amazing reads, and if you’re interested to see what were my favorite fanfics of 2018, here’s the link: past favs
For this year, I read sooooooo many incredible fanfics that it was hard to narrow it down to just 10. And the funny thing is, a good portion were from the same author, so it was insanely hard picking the top one.
I implore all of you reading and following me to try the tag-and please tag me. Always on the hunt for fanfic recs. I also am curious to hear the favorites from the following people: @kila09, @sebbies, @bookstakeyoutootherworlds, @scarlet47, @fleetofshippyships, @eyelashesandentropy, @tired-luxis, @dreamydrarry, @mothermalfoy, @profoundfelicity & @goldentruth813
Without any further ado, here are my top 10 favorite fanfics for 2019:
1). Soup-pocalypse and The Great Curry Cataclysm by SqaudOfCats/ @norelationtoatticus (drarry)
Summary: Eleven years after the war, Draco Malfoy leads a quiet, boring, and perfectly respectable life, thanks very much. Or, at least he does, until a sudden and very unexpected veela awakening causes him to throw soup all over Harry Potter in the middle of the Ministry cafeteria.
If the summary alone doesn’t get you to immediately click on the link and read, I don’t know what to say. But I can say this. SqaudofCats has become my new drarry favorite author period. I read all of her drarry stories, loved them all, and am hoping she does more.
This story, in one word, was a GEM. A FUCKING GEM. It was so so so good. There were so many good elements: Veela Draco, Dad Harry raising Teddy, Draco learning how to cook, a strang but HILARIOUS courtship involving food that I didn’t realize how much I needed until this story. It was also a perfect blend of fluff with so many cute moments and angst, which thankfully didn’t involve the couple but had to do with Harry’s mental health and PTSD post-war.
I read this story back in May and I still think about it. Have to stop myself from reading because I have so many fanfic tabs. But it is so good. It’s so addicting. Highly recommend.
Honorable mentions from this writer:
*Gift for Draco
*Nearly Lost Things, Carefully Tended
2). Cinderfella by @goldentruth813 (sheith)
Summary: Takashi Shirogane is exactly the kind of man Keith likes; built like a brick house with a smile sweet enough to rot teeth and a heart of gold. Of course he’s also YouTube famous and worlds out of Keith’s league. The closest he can get to his pseudo-celebrity crush is when he watches Shiro’s videos from the safety of his bed. Or so he thinks.
This incredible bean of a human being, this incredible writer is the reason I was pulled into the sheith ship long before I finally got into the show-and then had me drag @kila09 into the incredible maddness that is Shiro and Keith and the crew....and the disappointing season 8 that I am still pissed about. But yes @goldentruth813 is the reason why I got pulled into this ship, and this fanfic is the story that sealed my love for sheith and made them my 3rd favorite ship of all time.
This story is a fun, hilarious modern twist of Cinderella that obviously involves two guys, one is who a popular Youtuber and the other who is a hardcore super fan who meet in the most surprising circumstances and come back together in the most hilarious of ways. With our classic glass slipper being a beloved leather jacket.
It’s so stinking cute. It’s so hilarious. And it’s so weird since, while I do appreciate the fairytale, Cinderella isn’t one of my favorites but I’m a sucker for a good retelling of it. And this was so good.
Honorable mention by this writer:
*Safe Haven
3). Burn the Witch by @lettersbyelise (drarry)
Summary:  When Harry Potter is sent in to investigate Draco Malfoy’s successful potions company, posing as Draco’s bodyguard, he doesn’t know the case will launch a series of events that will change his life — and Draco’s. A story about choices, scars, Chopin piano pieces, and finding all kinds of love in the most unexpected places.
Let’s be honest here. At this point, are we really surprise to see this story here , featured in a favorites/rec list? Are we honestly surprise? At this point, I feel every drarry-shipping reader has read it. Devoured it. And praised it.
This story pretty much took over the drarry community the way Red, White & Royal Blue took over the book world. There wasn’t a day when I didn’t see Burn the Witch featured in a drarry fanfic recs post, saw posts praising it. Fanart of it, edits for it, and several mood-boards. It was THAT STORY. And I am proud to say it was worth THE HYPE.
Because it’s so well-known, I’m not going into too much detail but I can say it involves Daddy Draco and Scorpius who is precious, Harry in an undercover mission, and has one of the BEST post-war, slow-burn to the point of excruciating drarry relationship I’ve read all year. READ IT.
Honorable mention by this writer:
*Draco Malfoy’s Stupendous Seduction Seminar
*Love Me (Four Times)
4). Evitative by Vichan (drarry)
Summary: In the summer before his fifth year at Hogwarts, Harry is drawn to a room in Grimmauld Place. Like the Gryffindor he is, he enters the room without fear. The room is a library, and Harry is surprised to find that he’s eager to learn. Then he gets the bad news: he’s been accidentally expelled from Hogwarts, and he needs to be sorted again. Everyone is confident that he’ll go straight back to Gryffindor, but with what he's been learning, Harry’s not so sure.
Out of all the stories I have in my list, this is the only one that is currently a WIP. I know some are hesitant with WIPs but this one is so worth it. Another hidden jewel found by chance. This story has to be one of the best slytherin-Harry ever and that shows the Slytherin House and the Slytherins in a positive light while still remaining true to their cunning ways.
5). Up We Go by Oh_Hey_Tae (BTS: Taehyung x Jimin x Yoongi)
Summary: “If you’re a witch that works with plants, then why are all of yours dead? That can’t be good for business.”
The room dims again, and Jimin lifts a hand to flip off the ceiling. Taehyung knows he’s sad and that’s why the shop darkens and he shouldn’t find it funny—but he can’t help it. Because this is ridiculous. The good kind of ridiculous. The amazing kind.
(Or: Taehyung has a green thumb, Jimin runs a magical store, and Yoongi can kind of see dead people.)
Oh my goodness, where on earth do I even begin with this one? I am loss for words. It’s been months since I read it and I am still lost for words on how incredible it is. This story reads like a fairytale. Who am I kidding? This is a fairytale. A beautiful fairytale that is of loss, grief, friendship, family, love, and magic. And a beautiful fairytale that features a poly relationship
I was broken at the last word of the last chapter. Broken. Broken and put back together again. This story was so heartbreaking and heartwarming and I couldn’t think of anything else the whole damn week after I finished it. It was that good.
Honorable mention by this writer:
* Tell Me Again
6). Silence by the Night by @parkkate (drarry)
Summary: After a spell goes horribly wrong, Harry has to deal with the loss of his eyesight. It’s such terrible timing, too, because how is he supposed to find out what Malfoy has been up to in the Room of Requirement? It’s not like he can ask the git, not only because it’s Malfoy, but also because the Slytherin has suddenly lost his voice. While they’re both trapped in the hospital wing, however, Harry discovers there’s so much he didn’t know about Malfoy, and it’s highly intriguing, but also a bit alarming. Where did all these confusing feelings come from all of a sudden? And what is Harry going to do about them?
See no evil. Hear no evil. Speak no evil. That is the best way to sum up this story. The themes of it certainly tie with the story. This story....there is a certain chapter and @parkkate knows what I mean if she remembers my reviews that shattered me. That made me sit down with a gasp because the angst just cut through me in a way that no other drarry fanfic had do to me. @parkkate I hope you know what I mean.
Funny thing is about this fanfic is that it took my lazy butt forever to read it, like months after it was done. And mind you, I’ve seen so much praise and incredible fanart for this fanfic as well. So yeah, I was cursing myself for not getting to it sooner. And it was so so so so damn good that I literally said to @parkkate THIS IS CANON. This is canon. This happened 6th year after the bathroom scene and no one can tell otherwise.
7). You only Live Once by @dreaming-fireflies (viktuuri/victuuri)
Summary: It's when the man is soaring in mid-air under the full moon that Victor gets a good look at him: he's Japanese, with black hair slicked back in a styled look, and a lithe body covered in tight, tight, leather under a navy blue coat.
And when the man lands on the ground again, Victor sees the final piece that captures his heart absolutely and thoroughly – a pair of brilliant, golden eyes.
Victuuri supernatural AU in which Victor is a Western demon hunter and Yuuri is a Japanese half-youkai exterminator.A cross-cultural romantic comedy/drama, with Japanese mythology, shounen action, and slice of life elements.
Literally the summary itself said everything you needed to know, everything that should AND MUST intrigue you enough into reading, that I don’t know if I really have anything to add. But I’ll try to add some of my own input.
Like the summary said, this is a Supernatural-au YOI story, infused with Japanese mythology. Two different shows that shouldn’t work together but somehow did, creating such a fantastic read. I loved it. From beginning to end. I even knew first chapter it was going to be an ultimate favorite of mine. This fanfic just reminded me of my great love for Vikor and Yuuri-and my need for a fucking season two. As well as reminded of the glorious prime days of Supernatural, which in my opinion were seasons 4 & 5. There was action, there was angst, there was mutual and insane pining from both sides, and so many incredible moments to put into words. Seriously, what more could you want?
@dreaming-fireflies, you seriously did the damn thing with this story.
Honorable mentions by this writer:
*Entwining Fates
*Zanka
8). your sharp and glorious thorn by @arahir (sheith)
Summary: To end the war they inherited, Keith marries the King he lead an army against.
“You know, we met once,” the king continues, voice closer, and Keith almost turns. They met many times on the field—but then the king clarifies with a single word. “Before.”
Before he was a king. Maybe before he was a general. Keith has traced his rise like the growth of a seed he planted in clay and never expected to see again for how poorly he sowed it. None of this would have been possible without Keith—not the war, not a line soldier's battlefield promotion, not the end of it all, tied up so neatly by all Keith’s best mistakes. Not the killing, either. The king is right about that much, at least.
This is an arranged-marriage AU story, a trope I don’t love too much unless it’s really well done, and had very strong Game of Thrones vibes. And please note when I said Game of Thrones, I mean Game of Thrones back in its incredible prime, not the shitty season 8 we all agree was a nightmare never to be thought of again. But yes, this story was so good. Arranged marriage, enemies-to-lovers, slowburn. Please read.
9). Your Constellation Prize by rosegardenlake aka @whoalookingcooljoker (sheith)
Summary: Akira is Hollywood's biggest celebrity. He sings, he acts, he models, he does it all and he does it perfectly. That's what Shiro thinks at least, but what would he know? He's just a tired office worker whose dreams fell through years ago. ...But when he sees Akira, oh god, when he sees him - Shiro's world fills with light again.
When Shiro lands an interview to be an assistant at Akira's company, he has a hard time believing it's reality. Though Akira's rarely around, meeting everyone is like a dream. Especially meeting Keith, Akira's shy sweet dorky cousin (OR IS HE?!)
I didn’t realize how much I would liked-love in fact-or needed a celebrity-AU until I read this story.  And that’s about all I will say since I feel anything else will probably make things spoilery. But I will this say: these two can be such idiots, but they’re our lovable idiots and they’re so sweet, so soft. Also that this story definitely well-portrayed the dark side of fame.
10). That Old Black Magic by @bixgirl1 (drarry)
Summary: Centuries ago, marriage contracts were the norm — ready-made alliances between families, expected and complied with, without complaint. But norms have a way of changing, and when a long-dormant contract flares to life, Harry has to navigate an unexpected splintering of the path he'd thought would be easy after the war... with Draco Malfoy.
Least but certainly not least: an incredible, incredible drarry story done by the impeccable @bixgirl1.
I know I said that I’m not the biggest fan of the arranged marriage trope since I’ve been let down by so stories that started out promising but disappointed in the end. However, there are a few authors who I can always count on to make this trope into a great story. Such as @beatitudinembty, and also @bixgirl1.
This being is pretty much....I wanna say Sarah J Maas, one of my fav authors, in the drarry community. Everyone knows her. Everyone loves her. Everything she writes always turns into gold, and this latest story by hers was no except. Arranged marriage brings Harry and Draco together in the most infuriating, excruciating, incredibly-done slowburn.
Honorable mentions that I seriously wanted to add to the list but this post is already lengthy. All amazing, all greats reads by various writers y’all should check out:
*Moon-Eyed by @l0vegl0wsinthedark (Veela Draco, werewolf Harry, done by another star in the drarry community
*Expectant by @l0vegl0wsinthedark (drarry mpreg with Veela-Draco & werewolf-Harry)
*Where There is Tea by @bafflinghaze (drarry + bookstore+ tea=goodness)
*The Rules of Matchbreaking @nerdherderette ( drarry: match-maker Draco, oblivious Harry, what more could you want?)
* Come For Me by Frayach (drarry; STEAMY STEAMY smut and disabled rep)
*I Want Your Touch (And I Want Your Love) by @awjiminie (yoonmin with bad boy Jimin, good boy yoongi. What more could you want?)
*Seasons of Love by mucha (BTS; Jimin x Tae x Yoongi; incredibly well-done poly relationship)
Lovely people, that concludes my favorites of 2019. So many fantastic fanfics that I could spend hours gushing over them. To the writers who created these incredible stories. I applaud you. I thank you for creating and sharing these wonderful stories. Anyone interested in doing the tag, please do.
HAPPY NEW YEAR, GUYS.

shalluraweek day 2: wings/bloom
Summary: wings/bloom The war is over, the paladins are back on Earth, but Shiro and Allura find adjusting to peace might be harder than expected.
read on ao3 here
Truth was, it took way too long for Allura to notice. The war was over, Zarkon and Hagar were safely (finally) dead, and the Paladins of Voltron had returned to Earth. Even negotiations with the Galaxy Garrison and Earth’s other ruling parties had, at long last, come to an end. (Earth’s pollical system was surprising complicated and rigid compared to what Allura would have expected from knowing her paladins. When she had told Shiro that, he had just laughed and laughed.) With the politics and negotiations over, the paladins were finally able to go home.
Keith was in the desert, soaking up the Earth sun and the quiet.
Pidge had reunited her family and was making up for lost time.
Hunk traveled to his grandparents's ranch to finally meet two of his youngest nieces.
Lance had gotten absorbed into the mass of parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, cousins, distance relatives, and possibly nearby neighbors and outright strangers who just got caught up in the fuss, showing him in the praise and attention deserved.
And Shiro was back at the Garrison, sharing his experience and knowledge with faculty and cadets both. Allura thought he looked very handsome in the sharp cut of his grey uniform, regal and commanding like he always should be. He was back as a hero, and already very well on his way to becoming a beloved instructor. Which to Allura made perfect sense. He had already fought for, inspired, charmed, and occasionally strong-armed the rest of the universe; it was time he received the same kind of recognition on his home planet. He belonged here.
(Allura wasn’t sure she belonged anywhere. With the war over and on a strange planet where the inhabitants felt just enough like Alteans to be continually unnerving, she could feel herself crumpling, like her core was turning into dust.)
(They had finally disposed of Zarkon, and what was Allura besides another ten thousand year old relic? Perhaps it was time for her to fade away as well.)
So Allura told herself all was well. The paladins were safe and happy, and they no longer needed her. She was just stretching out the inevitable when the end was in sight.
It was this line of thinking that almost made her miss the problem with Shiro.
Almost. But, thankfully, not quite.
Allura was used to seeing Shiro with bags under his eyes and stress lines on his face—as much as she might not like it, it was an inevitable part of the war—and it took her way too long to realize that he shouldn’t look like that now. That wasn’t Shiro’s default state. Oh, one might think that was if they only saw Shiro in Black Paladin mode or operating in strict professionalism, but Allura had long since learned how to get past that veneer Shiro held up like a shield. The real Shiro, the true Shiro underneath the stress and the trauma and the responsibility he felt towards everyone, was a very different creature.
And once Allura pulled herself out of her moping enough to realize, it was all very clear.
She hadn’t seen Shiro tease or pull tricks or use that deadpan delivery of his dry morbid humor that left everyone who didn’t know him questioning whether or not he was joking. Not in months. Though he attended all the meetings asked of him, his eyes had lost the light that Allura and the rest of team Voltron had depended on so often in their darkest moments. His involvement in the Garrison seemed more dutiful than engaged, and despite nearly every cadet (and quite a few of the instructors) wanting to know about and know better the incredible Takashi Shirogane, Shiro seemed to be pulling into himself more and more. He wasn’t even excited about mentoring, which was especially surprising given how he had immediately latched on to the other paladins when they were younger. Oh, he tried his best with them—Shiro’s kindness, at least, hadn’t diminished—but it was clear his heart was somewhere far away.
At first, Allura was confused. He seemed to have a great job, a home, a planet—But then Allura thought of what she knew of Shiro, what had made him happiest when they worked side by side, and her heart fell.
Shiro had been grounded. It was so wrong Allura was astonished she hadn’t seen it out before. Mentor, teacher, commander—none of that mattered when it meant he was stuck on the ground. The wings of the great Black Paladin clipped, and oh, Allura hurt at the thought. Shiro had always been happiest the rare times where neither the war nor diplomatic negotiations where pressing on him and he got the opportunity to simply be on whatever planet they had landed on. To learn, explore, try new things. And the Garrison had cut Shiro off from all of it.
Allura’s decision was made before she even had to think about it. She caught Shiro’s hand before he turned in for bed and twined her fingers between his.
“Let’s go,” she said, and Shiro had been working with her too long to question what she meant.
Shiro’s stress lines were etched deep into his face, highlighting the redness also growing there. He held his tablet close to his chest, looking uncertain. “I should…”
Allura shook her head. “Should nothing. You don’t owe them.”
"There’sthere’s paperwork. And schedules—”
“And you’re the Black Paladin. No planetary government can tell you what to do.”
Shiro still hesitated a moment. Then he brought the tablet down. “I’ll get my things.”
As it turned out, Shiro didn’t bring much. Just a few sets of clothes and a personal device with a few memories. Allura took his hand again and led them to the Castle. The other Lions were scattered throughout Earth with their paladins, but the Black Lion was in its hangar. Allura spotted its eyes flash as they walked past and smiled to know it, too, was grateful the Black Paladin had come home.
“You never did fly the Castle, did you?” said Allura as they approached the bridge.
Shiro raised his eyebrows, and he eyes finally filled with a bit of that light he had been missing. “Are you offering to teach me?”
Allura let Shiro walk up to what had been her station and put his hands on the pedestals. She then wrapped her arms around him from the back and pressed her face between his shoulder blades. “Hmm...no. Figure it out.”
Allura felt his laugh more than she heard it. But Shiro didn’t hesitate. He had been living in the Castle for three years and was a fast learner. Figure it out he did, and soon they were breaking through Earth’s atmosphere.
“Where to, Princess?”
Allura smiled against his back. “I don’t care. I just want to be with you.”
It was one of those unspoken things they’d kept hidden, back when the war seemed determined to take everything they loved from them. Shiro took one hand off the pedestals and squeezed her fingers, an acknowledgement. Then he leaned forward.
“There are still a few planets I haven’t been to.”
“Be careful on the gravitational assists. The Castle has its own field.”
Allura could feel Shiro’s grin, even if she couldn’t see it.
“Sounds like a challenge.”
That was her Black Paladin. Her rock and her best friend. Her Shiro. Allura hugged him tight and only laughed when Shiro complained he couldn’t breathe.
By the time they reached the Kepler belt, the tension had leaked out of Shiro’s muscles. He twisted around. “What to take a closer look?”
“Black Lion?” Allura asked.
“Black Lion,” confirmed Shiro.
The Castle might be an incredible feat of engineering, capable of delicate movements that should be impossible for its size, but it had nothing one the agility of a Lion—especially not the way the Black Lion could dance under the direction of Shiro. Together, they soared, darting between frozen clumps of methane and ammonia, going faster—faster—faster! as Allura urged and Shiro laughed in delight until their rumbling stomachs called them home.
(Home, Allura remembered now, had stopped being a place and long since become a person.)
They docked in the Castle and made their way to the kitchen—only to find they weren’t alone.
“Hey, next time give us some warning before we take off, yeah?” said Lance, sprawled out with his feet up on the table.
“I was quite lucky Lance found me before leaving—otherwise I might have been stuck on Earth forever!” said Coran.
“You idiots,” said Keith, stepping forward to shake Shiro. “You thought we wouldn’t want to come with you, didn’t you?”
“Hope you don’t mind I brought my entire family,” said Pidge. “I figured there was room, and they wouldn’t let me leave without them. Also Matt said Shiro required ‘adult supervision.’”
“Hey, he’s only—!” Matt paused and made a face. “How old is Shiro now? Ugh, stupid time dilation.”
“Just because the war is over, doesn’t mean the universe doesn’t still need Voltron,” said Hunk. “There’s still a lot of good we can do, right?”
Shiro looked at Allura, a wry smile on his face. “So maybe we were a little bit dumb.”
Allura finds herself smiling in response. “Maybe a very little bit,” she concedes.
But their family is back together, the war is over, and she’s taking off for adventure again, this time with Shiro’s hand in hers.
From this point forward, Allura knows where she belongs.

Note
prompt time?? oooh “one night only” was so great! maybe something from the “return engagement” world?
((I have the beginning tendrils of a sequel idea for the Explorers series (One Night Only & Return Engagement) but nothing has solidified yet. In the meantime…))
“You’re adorable.”
“I’m not,” he replied. “I’m handsome and dashing.”
She laughed, and she could feel how it sped his heartrate, how her delight warmed him. “You are. And also adorable.”
He blushed. “I can’t help it. I’m on an alien spaceship and I’m going to go live on an alien planet!”
She slid her arms around him from behind, so he could continue to stare at the viewscreen and its display of the inky depths of outer space. “You’re on an alien spaceship, going to go live on an alien planet,” she agreed, “as the spouse of an alien princess.”
He turned in her grasp. “Spouse?”
She bit her lip. “You are my arlnath. Why would I want to marry anyone else?”
He smiled and swooped in to kiss her, and she could feel his answer long before he pulled his lips away to say, “I’d love to marry you.”
She moved to kiss him again, but he backed away a little. “But… I don’t know how to… I mean, I’d be your… consort, right? Prince-consort?”
She nodded. “Yes. Why does that concern you?”
“I don’t know how to be royalty.”
“I’ll teach you everything you need to know. Stop worrying about that.”
“It’s kind of… I mean… how? How do I stop worrying?”
“Hmmm, well, I could distract you.”
“I dunno…” His innocence was as fake as his perplexed expression. She could feel it. They no longer had secrets between them. “It’s such a big deal.”
She snorted and grabbed hold of him, spinning him back around to face the viewscreen. “I have something bigger I want to deal with right now,” she purred, rubbing her hand against his crotch and the growing erection she could feel there.
He gasped. “Princess!” He was trying hard to maintain a straight face; she could tell by his tone of voice, even if she couldn’t feel the bubbling mirth inside him. “You’re just using me for my body. I knew it!”
“Mm-hm,” she agreed, already working his pants open. “I plan to use your body all night, too, until we fall asleep in each other’s arms, exhausted and spent and thoroughly satisfied.”
“We’ll be all sticky and sweaty,” he warned her.
“Worth it,” she replied as she pulled his cock out. She rubbed just the head, slicking her hand up with the already-welling pre-cum.
He sighed and his eyelids fluttered closed. His head lolled back as she caressed him. “You… make a good point.”
She laughed. “Just think, my love,” she said as she continued to massage him, “I will be all yours, for the rest of our lives.”
“Mmm.”
“My lips will never kiss another. My body will know no one else’s touch, save yours.”
“Same,” he exhaled. “I mean… I don’t ever want anyone else, either.”
“Say it for me.”
He opened his eyes, let his head fall forward now. “I’m all yours, princess.”
“Yes, you are.” She rewarded him by beginning to stroke his cock now. She let her other hand reach lower, to cup and knead his balls.
He moaned and writhed against her. “Ah, fuck…”
“Open your eyes, Takashi,” she told him. “Behold your dream while I get you off.”
He raised his head, looked at the viewscreen. It was still dark.
“Let’s find a better view, hm?” She pulled her hand away from his balls, waved up a menu. “The Kaltrynan nebula, perhaps?”
The view shifted. Usually the viewscreens were just used like windows, real windows being a bad idea for the structural integrity of a space-faring vessel. But they could display whatever you wanted. She made it look like they were coming up on the famous nebula, thick with multi-colored clouds and bright with scattered stars.
“It’s gorgeous,” he exhaled.
“I’m glad you like it.” She resumed her full treatment, stroking his cock, massaging his balls.
He groaned. “I love it. I love you. I love this. Fuck, Allura, this is…”
She shifted a little, just enough to be able to purr right in his ear, “Who does this cock belong to now?”
“You,” he panted immediately. “It’s all yours. I’m all yours.”
“Good.”
She didn’t have to say anything; she knew he could feel the shift in her. He turned to face her again, but only so he could grab her and turn them around, pin her against the wall, her head against the viewscreen.
“Your turn.” His hands on her legs, shoving the skirt of her “forever” pink dress up. He picked her up, palms very nearly on her ass, thumbs on her thighs, and she looped her arms around his neck and hooked her legs around his waist.
He reached down with his right hand, with the prosthetic she’d made for him (again), and, with a single clean jerk, tore her panties off of her. She gasped and watched him smirk as her arousal filled him. She loved it, he knew she loved it. No secrets.
“And who do you belong to, my princess?” He pressed himself forward, and she could feel his cock edging her wet entrance.
“Myself, of course,” she replied.
“Try that again.” He leaned forward, lips a breath from hers, gazes locked. His voice, when he spoke, was a growl that made her tremble with desire. “Whose pussy is this?”
She bit her lip and tried to catch her breath. “Yours, Takashi, my love, my arlnath. Now please fuck me.”
“With your cock?” he asked with a grin.
“Absolutely.”
He pressed into her and she groaned gutturally. “Ahh, yes… Takashi…” She tightened her hold on him, both arms and legs.
“You’re incredible,” he said, breathing it into her hair as the sights of the nebula zoomed by just behind her. “Sometimes I can’t believe you’re real.”
“Don’t wake up.”
“Not yet,” he agreed. “You are,” hard thrust, “definitely,” and again, “the sweetest dream,” and another, “I’ve ever had.”
“As you are for me. My brave, handsome captain… my eternal love…”
“Don’t hold back,” he told her. He could feel her doing it, she knew. “I want to make you happy.”
“All… you have… to do… is… is smile…” she managed.
“Come for me, my love.” And he said it in Altean.
She was gone, she couldn’t have held back if she wanted to, and even as she began to come down off from that climax, he was still thrusting into her. She could feel how much he loved it: the tight, wet heat of her clenching around him, the ecstasy that had flooded her, the knowledge that he was the one she wanted and needed and that he was the one who had gotten her off.
She tapped into his fantasies to pant, “You are… the only one… who can satisfy me… Takashi…”
She expected that he’d return the favor, but wasn’t prepared for, “I’ve never loved anyone the way I love you, Allura.” She wasn’t prepared for those words, in his voice, ringing with deep, genuine truth.
And he stopped, buried to the hilt inside her, pulled back and brushed the tears of happiness away that had sprung up. His eyes shone with truth and love and steady faith in her, in them, in everything they had and were to each other.
It was all well and good to say sexy things about owning one another (or at least each other’s genitals), but it was truly starting to feel as if her heart belonged to him, and his to her. As if they had swapped places in each other’s chests, and that were forever bound together by the action.
It was a terrifying thought, to be so closely tied to someone else. But she also knew that Takashi took it as seriously as she did. This was a duty and a burden, to carry another’s heart like this, but it was one they undertook together. He would never abandon her, even if he could.
She tightened her legs around him, felt how good it was to be filled with him, and pressed a long, lingering kiss to his lips. And while her mouth was still occupied, she thought, Finish what you’ve started. I need to feel you come inside me.
And he began to move again, lips breaking apart. “As you wish,” he whispered throatily, and she beamed, at both the reference she knew now and the fact that he had picked up on what she’d said nowhere except in her heart.
She cried out as he drove himself inside her, each thrust better than the last. She looked into his eyes as he fucked her, and it seemed to spark something hungry in him. Harder, faster, so deep each time, but still not enough. Not yet, she still needed more.
“I can’t wait… to get you home,” she panted. “I want… to have you… in every place… we were together… that first… trip…”
“The Chapel of Memories?” he asked. “You want me… to take you… against your mother’s stone?”
“Yes… and the Blossom Canyon… the dining room… the very hallways…”
“We’ll… get caught.”
“Let them… see… ahh, Takashi… you’re so close… please…”
She bit her lip, and that did it. With one final thrust, hot cum began to fill her, and she let herself go as well, let herself scream with the climax, and who gave a damn if the entire ship came running?
He buried his face in her hair again, nuzzled his nose in behind her ear, and she giggled breathlessly.
You know I don’t own you. She could, somehow, feel his voice. It wasn’t telepathy. It was still just emotion and sensation, but it was easily translated into words in her mind. Not any part. I would never…
I know, beloved. Nor do I own you.
You have my heart.
And you mine. Aloud, she said, “I promise, your cock is still yours.”
He laughed and straightened up. He meant to let go, to help her get back to her feet.
She tightened her arms and legs around him. “Noooo. Not yet. Don’t go.”
“We were too loud. This is technically a public room. We should…”
“Not yet.” She waved up a screen, typed in a command. “There. All the privacy we need, unless there’s an emergency.” She grinned. “Being royalty has its advantages, as you’ll come to know.”
He smiled and shook his head. “I only need you.” And kissed her sweetly.
“And learning to fly our spaceships.”
“Well, I wouldn’t say I need that, but it’d be awfully nice.”
She laughed and he joined her, and she thought nothing could ever go wrong ever again, so long as she had (Former) Captain Takashi Shirogane by her side.

Stars Aligned (Preview)
Author’s Note: This is a preview scene for a fic I wanted to write for my Altean!Sheith AU (which is a part of the Multi-verse Sheith Wedding series I drew a couple of weeks ago). I don’t know when I’ll be able to finish it (and if I’ll continue to write for the other AUs as well) but for now I hope you would all enjoy this snippet. I haven’t written in so long, I’m kinda nervous…

He proposed under a galaxy full of stars, with his heart beating a thousand lightyears per minute.
They were in a meadow full of Altea’s finest flowers. Red, blues, purples, and greens scattered around, surounding them with its natural beauty. Everything was quiet with anticipation as a gentle breeze passed through and left the flowers aflutter. Soon, a delicate smell permeated the air and danced just under their noses.
And truly, everything was perfect at this moment. Just as perfect as the man who stood before the kneeling general, Shirogane Takashi.
Prince Keith was just as beautiful as the day he met him.
It didn’t matter that they were both younger back then or that Keith’s hair was black once upon a time. It didn’t even bother Shiro how the man was currently a bit frail or that his cheeks lacked a bit of a healthy flush. Caught in time, the knight didn’t even feel the phantom pain of his missing limb or the ache of the fresh scar across his face.
All that mattered was the blinding smile and joyfull but teary eyes his prince gave him as soon as he uttered the words.
“Will you marry me?”
The prince was speechless.
After a pause, Keith’s tears finally fell freely from his jeweled eyes. He sobbed into his hands, stiffled his cries and tried to quell the emotions overwhelming him.
Shiro stood up, gathered his love in his arms and gently pressed a kiss on his forehead. The box –with the ring adorned by a balmeran crystal, one the general personally collected– was still nestled on his prosthetic hand while his other wiped the tears under Keith’s thick lashes. With a careful nudge, he tippped the prince’s face to look up at him
“I love you to our moons and back,” he murmured softly, lovingly. “I love you from our galaxy to the next. I loved you since the first time I laid my eyes on you and I loved you even more the first time you said you love me back,” Shiro grinned, his eyes watered but the corners still crinkled in mirth and fondness for the love of his life.
“Shiro…” Keith choked back another sob.
Large fingers brushed off pale locks and tucked it under pointy ears. Shiro’s sterling eyes locked down on Keith with such intensity, it felt as if the prince was the center of the universe itself… and to Shiro he was. Keith truly was.
“I’ll love you even in our next life but in this life, will you let me have you now as my husband? Will you marry me, my prince? My beloved Keith?” Shiro asked once more, pouring his heart out with ever word that left his lips and made him breathless.
Keith didn’t have to think, his heart already made his decision for him.
“Yes! Yes! Our gods yes, Shiro,” the prince cried as he cradled his knight’s head, pulling their foreheads together in a tender gesture. “I love you. I love you so much… I would love nothing more than to be your husband.”
Shiro smiled once more as he felt how his stars finally aligned. He pressed his lips onto Keith’s for one sweet instance, and then another, before he settled back and savored the moment that he will forever cherish.
All was well and that night, –even if it was just one night– their nightmares did not come to haunt them.
