Almost beached themselves getting your pelt when you tried to flee onto land after being chased around the coastal kelp forest one too many times. It's much more fun playing ball with your pelt over your head while you try to reach far enough out of the water to get it back. Obviously, you have to tackle one of them when they catch it to have any hope of getting it back, but who?

The smallest is covered in rake marks like tiger stripes and chases you around the most - fucker is fast and persistent, likes seeing you riled up. Even if you get hands on your pelt, you have no chance of escape. The only reason he kept letting you get away is the pod leader telling him to and that luck dried up.

The literally big boss of the group with his vertical cheek stripes that remind you of teartracks. He's careful and reigns his pod in before you get injured in their play. He could just hold it out of reach so you'd have to push him down for a sure shot, grab the pelt, and book it to the open waters.

The kelp shroud wearing sadist you have seen rip open a live great white just to eat the liver. Has threatened to skin you to get your pelt - seemed very disappointed when you told him that would just kill you. Immediate no. Pelt grab zone is in teeth range, and he looks starved for selkie.

The pitch black one you can't quite read. Toys with you like the others, but you've noticed the dark shadow hovering nearby whenever you cosy up on the sea bed to sleep. More than once, you've woken up in his shadow. He seems the safest bet, decent odds of that being a trap, though.

Hi Skog, ily and I can sleep have some unedited Tommy POV for selkie!AU 🦭

If this is what dying's like, it's strangely comfortable. And he is dead, Tommy's sure of it. His limbs are so heavy they must have dragged him to the bottom of the sea already, the ocean floor soft beneath his back, warm and pressing him down. Funny. Tommy always assumed dying would be cold. He cracks an eye open. Something in the other room clinks ominously. So. Not dead then. He tries an experimental wiggle of his toes. Fingers. Not dead and human. Which means he survived the orca. Which means his pelt is- His pelt is gone. Tommy sits bolt upright, slapping a palm to the sharp burn in his side as he does, hissing and baring his teeth at the pull and tear of the skin there. It's bandaged already, smooth tape under his palm and the sharp tinge of something astringent that means Tommy hopefully won't end this surprise second chance via sepsis. Small mercies, he supposes. Now he just needs to find his pelt and get out of here. Something clatters in the other room again and Tommy ducks, pulling the quilt spread over his lap up in some sort of vague attempt at shielding himself. It still hurts to move, Tommy can feel the gash in his side pulse in time to his pounding heartbeat as he listens closely, waits for footsteps, voices. There's only the sound of shuffling feet and water being poured and Tommy releases the breath he'd been holding when it becomes clear whoever fished him up hasn't noticed he's awake yet. Tommy gathers his wits and the quilt about his shoulder, bare feet on the cold floor as he shuffles up and out of the bed with a bit back groan. His everything hurts and Tommy has sudden sympathy for driftwood, feels like every inch of him has been repeatedly dashed against the rocks outside. For all he knows he was. The quilt lays heavy on his shoulders as Tommy slowly limps his way over to the door. He feels naked without his pelt but the bulky weight of his helps soothe the rattled creature in his chest some. He's in no shape to defend himself, no shape to escape, but he steels himself anyway.

AHHH LIN!!! ok ok uhhhh. this is cheating a little bit bc two of these are series but they really are so special to me, i can't possibly pick just one chapter/installment from either of them. anyways, here are five of my favorites, not necessarily in order (edit: why the FUCK was this so hard???):

Noble Blood - stsg x gn reader; jjk dragon rider au. by word count, this is the longest multichap fic i've ever posted. it's really niche, since it's 1.) a reader insert, 2.) a poly ship, & 3.) a high fantasy AU, but it one of my favorite things i've ever written in my life, and i've been writing (fic & original writing) for over half my life.

Transfem Gojo - trans woman gojo satoru x gn reader. i've always loved playing around with characters' genders and sexualities, which like... there's definitely some projection happening there, but we don't need to talk about that. i also didn't expect the concept to turn into a whole series, but it has, and honestly i couldn't be happier about it, especially when it brought one of my favorite people into my life ( @dr-runs-with-scissors ily) and when i see how much other people love her, even if it's a very small group. again, a very niche concept, but i love it.

Too Much - kocho shinobu x gn autistic reader; shinobu helps reader through a meltdown. this fic was a gift for red ( @redlikerozez), actually! i really like this one bc, as someone who is autistic, it fulfilled a very specific hole in the reader insert space (at least in my experience). it was also nice to write for a character i hadn't yet written for, who is also a female characters and a character that generally has less fic written about her!

Lucky Shot - outlaw geto suguru & fem reader; platonic w/ open ending; gun violence, blood/injury, minor character death. i really liked all the entries i did for riley's collab, but this one is probably my favorite of the three! it was also my first geto fic that didn't include gojo.

Day Off - maki & gn reader; you spend the day at the arcade. this fic is the only one i've ever written based on a request (for @/yuutito), but it was so much fun to write! maki deserves more fics and writing something platonic is always nice.

✒️- What inspired you to create your muse/What inspired you to make a blog for your muse?

Honestly the biggest inspiration for the crows was actually that one Reddit post where it was like “yeah so I taught the crows the value of money and now they pay me to get them Taco Bell” and the “everything is going to shit in finals week but the local crow murder has accepted me as its own so at least I have that going for me”, as well as the frankly insane amount of crow studies that are made and the general concept of crow divination (yes it’s a thing and it’s fucking insane /pos)

Also! I managed to bully my DM into adding Selkies into our post-apocalyptic campaign by making it backstory relevant to Basra (their name is Salma and they have a complicated QPR-type relationship, although it’s not cemented which is why I’m technically open to Romantic RP)

Basra, by most definitions if the term, can be considered to be Brown- I was struggling to come up with their name so I went with what sounded best initially due to the time constraints I had, because I’d assumed that I’d be able to change it later in the RP. Their name roughly translates to “the overwatch” in Arabic, as well as meaning “to come together” and “dry land” depending on the language you speak. Which is one hell of a coincidence seeing as I wasn’t aware of the name meaning until very recently-

Unloading my Stardew Valley spiel onto you bc ily

A TikTok I saw earlier kinda inspired this, but it got me thinking. The farmer, right? Mysterious relative of another deceased farmer that used to live in the valley moves to town. Knows everyone’s favorite things. Basically builds a multi million dollar empire. Within less than two to three years, probably.

They’re also in regular contact with a fucking wizard, can talk to spirits, and can literally teleport around town. Also casually wanders into the mines to harvest bodies of dead monsters. No biggie.

Also, fun fact : all of the NPCs have a breathing + blinking animation. The farmer only blinks. (Besides when you drink something in the forest and hyperventilate) And the farmer can keep anything in their inventory alive for years and then all the other stores have to change their stock daily due to their stuff rotting or going out of season.

Also, imagine when the villagers realize they stop aging once the farmer arrives. Only the farmer’s children age, and even they stop after a while.

Maybe the farmer is some kind of protector. Not even time can harm the villagers, much less monsters. Idk am I crazy

Okay this is gonna be all about Ciaran and so you're all going to learn some new stuff about them for sure lol.

11: Do they still have any objects from their childhood? What is their most vivid childhood memory?

Okay, time for the story of why Ciaran loves the ocean. Ciaran's father died when Ciaran was ten. It was a fast acting cancer so once he was diagnosed, he went pretty quickly. But before that, when Ciaran was about seven or eight, the whole family went on a trip to Ireland (where both of Ciaran's parents are originally from) to visit family and so on. One day, Ciaran's father took them for a hike out to the ocean. It was all green hills and rocky cliffs. And they stopped for a while on a cliff where they could see out across the waves. And Ciaran's father told them stories about selkies. They walked along the beach for a bit, too, and chose a single rock to bring back with them. Ciaran still has that rock and this is by far their most vivid childhood memory.

12: What is something they have experienced that has shaped themed into the person they are today?

Well obviously their dad passing away at a young age was a big deal. But other than that, I would say it was discovering their love for painting. Ciaran is naturally very active and energetic, but painting is a calming and relaxing thing to do. They were so entranced by the method and the colors and depicting things in a visual medium that the found themselves able to settle and concentrate on it. They can't really do that easily in general, so it was like unlocking this piece of themselves they didn't know they had. It first really began to impact them when they were in a high school art class where they had to paint for an assignment. And the teacher could see that Ciaran was really connecting with that in particular and encouraged them to pursue it further.

07: Would they date an immortal being if they aren’t immortal themself, and vice-versa?

Ciaran is very much a "live in the now" type of person, so they might not even consider the consequences of something like that at first. However. Ciaran dearly cherishes the time they had with their father, even if it was short. So I think that if Ciaran was the immortal one, they wouldn't have a problem dating someone who was mortal. They would be happy just to love someone for however long that person is around. Because they know that even when that person is gone, the impact they had on Ciaran will live on until Ciaran themselves has passed on. In the opposite situation, I think Ciaran would consider it to be the choice of the immortal person. Since Ciaran would get to have that immortal partner by their side all of their life (assuming they don't break up or something). So Ciaran would totally date an immortal while being mortal, but they would consider it the immortal's choice in the end.

09: How is their temper? Are they quick to violence? Do they get frustrated easily?

Ahaha. Ciaran has a short fuse! There are a couple of specific things that really set them off. And once that temper explodes, yes they will get violent. They're pretty short so they have a tendency to throw things at people, but they will absolutely get into fist fights at the drop of a hat.

They can get frustrated easily, but it depends on the situation. They get frustrated with people who are needlessly mean, whether that's mean to themselves or mean to others. They also don't like it when people treat them as an inferior or like a child. It's pretty easy to ruffle their feathers lol.

09: Share some fluff headcanons!

Okay, for this I'm going to tell you another little story about what happens when Ciaran falls for one of the characters.

Ciaran paints large pieces with oils, but they also carry around a smaller book that they fill with on the go watercolor paintings. They tend to paint landscapes and abstracts. They take a lot of pictures when they first arrive in the Devildom and end up painting a lot of different Devildom flowers and buildings. They're fascinated by this whole new world of stuff to paint, so they end up with piles of canvases in their room.

And then one day the character they have feelings for (this changes because I can't decide) finds a portrait they've painted. It's still on the easel, an amazingly well crafted portrait in oils. And of course, it's a portrait of that character. He asks Ciaran about it, thinking Ciaran must have taken a picture of him when he wasn't looking. Ciaran's a little baffled by this (and also a little embarrassed because they didn't really intend for him to see it). Ciaran says that they could have painted a portrait from a photo, but they didn't need to. Ciaran hands over their current watercolor notebook and the character flips through it to find that nearly every other painting is of him. In between the paintings of flora, buildings, and a handful of other people, are paintings of him smiling, concentrating, standing in a RAD hallway, or doing his favorite thing. Ciaran says they painted the oil portrait from memory because they've painted him so many times now that it just comes naturally.

And even though Ciaran doesn't say anything about how they feel, it's basically a confession. What happens next varies depending on the other character, but in the end Ciaran always gives them the portrait.

10: Share some angst headcanons!

Okay lemme give you an extension of the fluff story for this one, then!

Because Ciaran used to paint portraits all the time, back in the human world. But then they fell in love with someone. And they started painting that person all the time. For a while, every painting was of that person. Until that person broke Ciaran's heart. :( Then Ciaran stopped painting portraits and never actually painted another one until the above scenario.

Additionally, I would say that angst for Ciaran is really prevalent in the Nightbringer timeline. They don't even like Solomon at first, until the third season of the OG when they become his apprentice. They eventually realize how smart he is and how lonely he is. Then he earns their respect and friendship. But Ciaran really struggles with the brothers not remembering them. And if they're going to fall for Solomon, they've already got feelings for him by the time Nightbringer happens. But they haven't told him, so it's all angst because they think it's unrequited (what can I say we're dealing with two idiots). So it's a lot of trying not to depend on Solomon too much, but having no one else to turn to, etc.

11: Something you really want to mention about them that you haven’t before!

One time, Ciaran got incredibly drunk and slept with their older sister's boyfriend. Fiadh said she was angry, but Ciaran was like yo do you think I'm dumb? I can tell that you don't actually care, what's up with that? And that's when Fiadh decided to come out to her family as a lesbian. Needless to say, she broke up with that boyfriend and did not really mourn his loss. In the meantime, Ciaran felt terrible because they really didn't mean to do it and they were far more careful about their alcohol consumption after that. Because they love their sister and would never hurt her intentionally. And they would like to not hurt her accidentally if they can avoid it.

07: Where do you think they would most likely end up in—heaven or hell?

Wow what a question. Are we saying this is when they die? Because I kinda think Ciaran would be hell bound lol. I'm not sure, honestly. Do they get a say at all? Because in that case they're definitely going to choose hell, assuming that's just the Devildom and not like... a fire and brimstone type of situation. But despite being an angry lil guy with a bit of a violent streak, Ciaran is generally a good person. So I guess it depends on what the requirements are. But they would choose to be in the Devildom if they could.

08: Do they carry anything with them protect themself from the paranormal?

Ciaran is no longer a practicing Catholic, but due to their upbringing, they still have bits of that lingering in the way they deal with this kind of thing. They've been known to cross themselves out of habit when they're really frightened. They also have a few saint medallions. They keep one of St Christopher in their car. Due to their love of animals, sometimes they will wear a St Francis of Assisi medallion too. (Their mother keeps their rosary for them.) But if such things are toxic to demons, they will leave them behind lol. Other than that, I don't think they have anything that's specific for protecting themselves from the paranormal. Though I could see them wanting to make such a thing that doesn't hurt demons because they care about having some protection.
