That said dunno if there's enough indie bokumono clones to make a broad statement about marketing? Actual Bokumono, as well as Natsume-Original HM don't really do the style of marketing people are talking about farm sims doing, it's mostly SDV. Maybe some other indie farm sims but it's a surprisingly small genre...

1️ For legacies/stories, I usually build things myself! The only lots/sims I've downloaded are @natolesims' Stardew Valley Sims (helllllooooo sebastian) and specific SDV lots from ts4 galley. I also download high school lots from the galley. I've tried making schools and they never come out right.

2️⃣I've built all the legacies houses in my Insecta & Postcard legacy! I've watched a TON of videos on how to build big legacy house s, so I'm super proud of the final versions I'm currently using. And yes, I totally demolish and rebuild if needed...see my generation 4 Insecta legacy. I just blamed it on a character's chaoticness lmao

sam: only thing i can think to talk about is how in stardew valley the seasons are all 28 days long exactly and on the first day of every season everything changes drastically because like of course thats how it works for the viddy game but we're weaving shit like that into our Big SDV Fanfic and i think it is fun :) like we imply that it wasn't like that where the protag lived before moving to pelican town and that it's like... probably due to the Magic of the valley or w/e. someone in the game says something like "the valley seems to completely transform overnight" and i latched onto that and went oh so this is real. we live in video game. awesome <3 i just like the implication of video game mechanics and logic seeping into the reality of this World, yknow?? like, imagining the characters as Real People and how they perceive these various reality-breaking video game logic things. some people try not to draw attention to this stuff in fanfic and make it more realistic for like immersion i guess but i just think its really fun :) and it almost has an element of cosmic horror to it which i like
