The alignment of individual person/number markers used on Yakkha verbs. It took me a little while to work out how to read the table; each square is subdivided into nine smaller squares based on the number of the agent and the patient, with top middle bottom corresponding to singular, dual, and plural agent, and left middle right corresponding to singular, dual, and plural patient, respectively. Grey shading indicates the marker would be used there. In the bottom right table, the dark grey is for =na, and the light grey for =ha.

"You know, like when you learn a new word and then it suddenly feels like it’s everywhere. But no. It’s always been there. You just never noticed." Not a new word, but I'm studying to become a teacher, and now... I see news or information about compulsory education EVERYWHERE! From issues like bullying to introducing new subjects, from projects by pupils to podcasts, from interviewing a principal to... Like, wtf. Have news media always talked this much about compulsory education?? lol.
LOL! 😄
I remember reading about a study where experimenters told participants a story, then brought them back a week later to retell the story. It was found that while they could generally recount the basics of the story, culture had a huge impact on what they recalled. For example, non-natives were more likely to just call the canoe a boat.
Everyone has the sorts of mental frameworks, or "schemas," that group together information they retain and can recall. Things that fit into an existing schema are easy to remember later. Things that don't as easily will be more difficult to learn and retain.
So what happens here is that, if you're studying to be an educator, you have this whole education schema built up and are able to remember stuff about education that you see easier. Therefore making it feel like you see it more because you're able to recall more often that you've seen stuff about it.
(And if you're studying to be an educator, you probably already know all this already. I just like rambling about psychology. 🤪)

Ugh I'm the worst, I slept in again, why I'm so shit of a person that I can't even keep a simple waking up schedule???
Well you clearly needed the extra rest in the morning, your body keeps a score of the rest it needs. It's good that you try to keep an early schedule on your days off and it clearly helped you wake up earlier! Beating yourself up over nothing is fruitless and now we will make the best of the time we have, by starting with the chores.

I was supposed to make a post of examples of the annoying spiral I got myself into but I had to think more of the gentle parenting talk while writing this, I completely forgot my counter points against it

Holes in a palm tree, occupied by ants. A naturally occurring schema worth further investigation. I am constantly inspired by things I find in nature and this quote from our readings this week stuck with me. "Outside of nature, they (designers) are the prime creators of our experienced reality."
I don't think it's possible to be a good designer without being observant, especially of the natural beauty in our world. This example of a small but mighty creature feels like a larger metaphor for design thinking and leadership. The ants did not create these holes, but are using them to their advantage. What's at our disposal that can help us find a solution?

Universal Design is Design Leadership
"An environment (or any building, product, or service in that environment) should be designed to meet the needs of all people who wish to use it. This is not a special requirement, for the benefit of only a minority of the population. It is a fundamental condition of good design. "
Principle 1: Equitable Use
Principle 2: Flexibility in Use
Principle 3: Simple and Intuitive Use
Principle 4: Perceptible Information
Principle 5: Tolerance for Error
Principle 6: Low Physical Effort
Principle 7: Size and Space for Approach and Use
Whereas traditional accessibility design creates design parameters based on the needs of a minority group/solely those with disabilities, the Universal Design #schema expands the #desideratum to include, well, everyone.
Ron Mace, the one who coined the term Universal Design, is a #design leader.
