I ended up scrapping that last run of skyrim so I could swap out and update my modlist, so now there's Kaaja, another khajiit adventurer.

idk if she's related to any of my other ocs yet. or what her backstory is in general. all I know is that she likes adventuring, likes surviving. she's the kind of person who does things for the tale to tell later around the campfire, and she enjoys what she does for that reason. she's also pretty... understanding ? sympathetic ? and wants to help folks. she isn't afraid to stick it to anyone she thinks is abusing their power.

speaking of. may choose the stormcloaks. usually don't, but. I ended up in Windhelm and Kaaja got one look at Ulfric and was like "I can fix him!" but in the like. punch him in the face if he says anything racist sort of way. like. she's out here saving skyrim one mini/misc quest at a time, all while making direct eye contact with Ulfric. Kaaja would say "fight me" to Ulfrics face and mean it, she doesn't have time for his bullshit.

Kaaja, five minutes after agreeing to help Ulfric: "there is not enough moon sugar in nirn to make your crazy schemes make sense"

like idk I just feel like Kaaja could put Ulfric in his place, she got that energy. in other news, I guess it's the perfect vibe for a dragonborn. she was like "this one is going to fight that dragon" @ Alduin before she even knew that was her quest so.

Looking 4 Fics: Self Inserts!

I'm running out of stuff to read. My flair (and the post's title) says it all. I live and breathe (read: read and write) mostly self insert fanfiction. (I'm not even calling it a "guilty" pleasure anymore :D Heck yeah I love reading those!) Looking through older posts here asking for similar things, scouring FFnet and AO3 (and cursing at their (at least for my purposes) limited search options), even tvtropes pages and forums like AH or SB, it looks like I'm seriously drying up on good inserts to read. Maybe I'm setting too high a standard, but I'm out of ideas. I hope you can help me. I'm going a bit crazy learning for exams right now (one exam tomorrow, one the day after)

- about 40k words and upwards (can be shorter if REALLY good / must-read, or part of a longer series), if possible completed (not a dealbreaker if not (unless abandoned), but would be nice)

- actual insert (OCI or SI, doesn't matter), like, people going into a fictional universe (knowledge optional), not just adding OCs or Selfs as just an additional character to the cast

- maybe going a bit easy on pure wish fulfillment / Mary Sues (aka pls don't)

- Preferred fandoms: Mass Effect Trilogy, Dragon Age, Elder Scrolls (Skyrim mostly), Almost anything Marvel (Captain America, Avengers, AoS,...), Almost anything DC (incl. TV shows like Arrow, Flash, Young Justice...), GoT/ASoIaF, [probably aren't any*, but just in case: NCIS, Castle, Chuck, Sleepy Hollow (tv show), Warehouse 13, Eureka]

anything else could be something for me, but they're a had sellf for me if I'm not familiar with the source material; but go for it, the more the merrier!

Well, except...

- hard rule: please no Naruto / Anime in general, and no Harry Potter (*gasp :D). Never got into it, those stories give me nothing.

Also, fair warning: As stated above, I've already read a LOT of SI/OCI stories. If you link a story that I've already read I will let you know though.
