Skansen. Nordic animals. Lynx (Lo), great grey owl (Lappuggla), Seal (Säl), gray heron (Gråhäger). The last was very much free but seemed to like hanging out with the seals. Some of the animals was not out and visible, others where allready harbinating.

we call them ko (cow) and säl (seal) (and various nicknames based on those) because they look like the respective animal. my mom doesn't think those are their official names but i mean. we have been calling them that for month i don't think we can change it now lmao

if i got another one i would name them kiwi!! i wanted these two to be called mango and kiwi but my family didn't agree

favorite book um... it's almost embarrassing but i don't think i've read enough books lately to have a favorite that i actually remember lmao, plus the books i have read have all been like. good at best?? i guess out of the ones i have read it's the atlas six by olivie blake, i had so many issues with that book but god i just loved how all the main characters were complete assholes lmao

i don't watch movies that often tbh but my go tos are probably coraline and mean girls (i know very original) and... honestly... teen beach movie because it's just so nostalgic and i still love the soundtrack lmao

Magiska under…

Blå spåret häruppe. Helt magiskt fint eller hur. Nästan lite som en trollsk källa MEN det har nog bara blivit så på grund av att det har regnat massor. En varm sommardag är det nog inget vatten. Vacker formation kan jag tycka. Ser ut som en knubbig säl eller nåt… Det har varit en skön utehelg. I fredags var vi på Virsehatt. Igår var jag uppe i skogen med Alva när Mannen var på sin runda. Idag…

I here bring a teenage seal of the baltic sea, a seal of which REFUSED to accept human demands, of that their “should not be a angry teenage seal hissing at us, in the town square” sort.  

yes last spring this seal! despite being removed to a safe spot away from the city of norrtälje, moved to GOOD FISHING waters and all, the seal returned to keep up its hissing at humans shenigans.

which resultated in perhaps the best headline of all time

ps. it appear that in the end they found water with better fishing water, and in general more agreeable habitat for the seal life, to relocate the seal to. which made the seal stop coming back to HISS and SCREAM at the humans of norrtälje city. so in the end, i believe the seal was just fine.

I want more people to learn about a very endangered species of seal, which only live in a single lake-system and oddly enough, not many people know about. Where does this unknown, speckled beauty live in? Fucking Finland. Yes, in an in-land lake-system, in FINLAND. Yes. The Saimaa Ringed Seal lives in the lake-system of Saimaa and Saimaa only. They got stuck there after one of the ice-ages and have decided to stay. Well a seal can’t really migrate so hey.

But why, you ask, do I bring you this quite normal looking seal? Its endangered as hell. Like, No joke. Finnish Government has for YEARS been trying to protect them and for some reason nobody has thought of telling other people about this species. At all. Its like a weird finnish in-joke. Only finns know. Nobody is told about the seals. Why? Because fuck Finland.

Lets look at the facts: “The Saimaa ringed seal (Finnish: Saimaannorppa) is a subspecies of ringed seal (Pusa hispida). They are among the most endangered seals in the world, having a total population of only about 380 individuals.[2] The only existing population of these seals is found in Lake Saimaa, Finland (hence the name). The population is descended from ringed seals that were separated from the rest when the land rose after the last ice age. This seal, along with the Ladoga seal and the Baikal seal, is one of the few living freshwater seals.“ from Wikipedia What’s that? The most endangered seal species in the world? INTERESTING.

All I want, is folks to share Finland’s own Big Slappy around, so more folks would know about them. No need to donate, no links to read more online. Seriously. I need more people to know about this hidden finnish gem of a seal, that’s all! I want more people to recognize Finland has this strange blubbery mammal living in one of its big lakes, hiding from the vast majority of the world! Share the slaps people, lets make this remarkably cute and wholesome creature a finnish icon, like it deserves to be!
