Look, this video is a mess, okay? No shade at all to the creator, the editing is fine, but this is old and it suffers from how none of us had good bandwidth back then. Even more that, though, the video is using an amazing and completely nonsensical and confusing song, and they go all in! The song is Somebody Told Me, by The Killers, and this video smashes up all the kinky, disturbing, gender bending and weirdly sexualized moments they could cram into three minutes.

Of course I'm posting this to celebrate posting the first chapter of my Sex Shop AU, The Leviathan, on ao3. This song has been a big inspiration for me, and on my writing playlist, for months now, and I was completely flabbergasted to find an actual video using it! And for me at least, it works!

So enjoy the music, boggle at the late 90s idea of kink and queer, and then if you have some need to read John and BDSM done badly, the link is up above. Sometimes we just gotta go where the creepy muse leads us?

First we start at, and before, the beginning; with a look at Season 1, Episode 1: Premiere, and some highlights from its years of development.

So I was going to do a post where I said they should make a Mass Effect show where we follow a normal Spectre as they solve exciting-space crimes, but then, omg!, that's just the 90s movie / TV show Alien Nation that no one but me remembers.

I wasn't even sure I remembered it properly so I looked at the Wikipedia page:

I assume that is the same guy who did another obscure little sci-fi show that reminds me a lot of Mass Effect?
