The Seraphim & The Concept of Self
I wonder who picked the Seraphim's outfits cause at first glance when you only look at S-Hawk and S-Snake it feels like there's a standard uniform. then you see the whole group and there's definitely some individuality going on; like S-Bear just wearing a mini kuma outfit, S-Shark with the gi, my man Moria got a little suspender situation going on over there. S-mingo wearing a whole ass hawain shirt. So there's definitely some variety though they all incorporate white in some way. And I wonder if maybe they got some input into what they wore one of the only acts of "free will" they were allowed was choosing whether they wore shorts or long pants which is as adorable as it is sad.
Because think about the implications that they are dressed to the taste of their adult counterparts, right down to how doffy and mihawk like to open their shirts (except for S-Snake which thank god) but yeah what if it wasn't an allowance of free will but a test to see just how deep DNA ran. If it could influence something as simple as choice of clothing, just another fact for Vega punk to marvel at.
Or maybe the clothes were chosen by one of the Vega punks (I can imagine Shaka doing it) or one of the other various lab assistants. And it's just another way to get them to embody the warlords, to reinforce who they were cloned to be, impressing on them that they are not their own people, their lives are not their own. They are already predetermined; from what powers they get, to what weapons they use, even down to what clothes they wear. Everything reinforces that they are not people, just "better" "stronger" versions of someone else.
Either way, and It might have not have been purposely meant that way because I'm pretty sure Vega punk doesn't really register them as human (which is weird cause he treats stussy very humanly and a whole other can of worms seeing as they seem to be aware and possess a personality to some capacity) it's another way of dehumanizing them, reducing them to the people they are meant to become. They have no "free will" no illusion of choice; they have a predetermined destiny, a pre-determined order, there was never any room for choice even down to the shirts on their back.
#even though i do think it would be objectively funnier and more adorable if they got to pick their outfits#and there was no trauma attached to it at all but we all know that's not what we do here#This was inspired by me finding S-Hawks little rolled up sleeves button down tucked into his little shorts the most adorable thing ever#they give me very umbrella academy vibes but you know they're basically the same difference#and I swear I don't hate vegapunk it's just been shown he sometimes forgets to put humaity before science but he atleast tries to be good#it's a good flaw for a genius scientist character to have he's just a 1960s psychologist#a little part of me knows the seraphim and all their implications beyond being nuclear weapons is never going to be explored#I'll be suprised if any other warlord besides Jimbe ever meet their seraphim never mind king#but god knows oda might just shock me but given that all the fights with them have been cut short or skipped over I highly doubt#the concept of self#one piece seraphim#seraphim#s hawk#s snake#s flamingo#s bear#s shark#seven warlords#s crocodile#warlords of the sea#boa hancock#dracule mihawk#donquixote doflamingo#s gecko#vegapunk#one piece thoughts#one piece meta#throwing thoughts to the void#one piece#one piece analysis

Ope ope fruit speculations
so I just found this post:
It's too late to participate in the discussion there, but I want to add a small information that seems to get lost in translation.
Ope ope no Mi's ultimate surgery is "Eternal Youth" (不老), not "Immortality" (不死).
Aren't they used interchangeably? Well, Oda did something curious in Volume 107:
In the magazine edition, Blackbeard asked Law if he (the fruit) could make him both eternally young and immortal - as seen in the left image (不老不死) . IIIRC it was the only time when "Immortality" was added to explain Law's power. But Oda removed the "Immortal" bit in the volume version of the same panel, it was corrected only to eternally young (不老) as previously said during Dressrosa.
Maybe it means Imu isn't unkillable and Law doesn't have to sacrifice himself to reverse the surgery? The "reverse" effect isn't supposed to work in the first place, given Hancock's explanation that her paramecia power is irreversible once the original user dies. It'd be strange if the rule changes from one fruit to another:
Makes me wonder why powers like Hobby-Hobby which keeps the user young don't have the "Eternal Youth" effect. It seems Doffy collected the hobby fruit for a similar research on Eternal Youth, but then learned about its limitations.
How does a natural death occur in One Piece anyway? Is it heavily related to soul rather than one's physical self? A person's soul stays within a body for a specific duration (the natural lifespan), then leaves regardless of the physical condition of the person. If the soul is empowered with revive revive fruit, it can revitalize the body regardless of the corpse's condition (Brook). Since Law is able to swap personalities, it's possible that that Ope ope is able to "operate on" the soul. Eternal Youth surgery could simultaneously sustain a human body and keep the soul trapped within the body forever (which Sugar's fruit can't do), and thus a person gains indefinite lifespan.
I subscribe to the theory that the Elders (who have the ability to immediately heal) had never been humans and their ability isn't the result of ope ope surgery. They could be an extension of Imu's own, unknown devil fruit ability that let him create five puppet figures to run the government. Or they're real demons who would cease to exist once their original summoner (Imu) is killed. Imu, the so-called immortal human, keeps himself safe in a locked room where he cant be harmed, so he can exist forever.
The theory that it's Lili's (eternally young) body Imu is currently residing in makes some sense too, maybe he now has a muse for Vivi and wants to be swapped into her body.
Whichever case it is, Ope ope is definitely involved.
It's possible that a reason the govt allowed Law to become a shichibukai was to regain their access to Ope ope. It'd be ridiculous for the govt to not to collect Law's lineage factor to replicate the 5 billion bounty worth of power. It's very likely that vegapunk was able to replicate the "soul swapping" power of it, so rn Law's original fruit isn't highly sought after as it once was. The govt can still exploit ope ope powers, but they don't need Law to do so.
I don't think they've made his seraphim, it was a long term and expensive project. But how wild it'd be if Doffy's seraphim is revealed to have the Ope ope ability, operating with Law's lineage factor?
I should sleep lol

Monty, Gabe, and Ashken (Moriah's Seraphim) sitting in a tree or atop a canyon some time after the World Government falls watching some Celestial Dragons floundering about with a gun that shoots nothing but blanks and being like "these are the people who drove the Lunarians we were cloned from off the Red Line?" For Monty it's extra embarrassing because he's Celestial Dragon on his donor's side.
To be fair to Monty, nepotism of that degree for a couple centuries shy of a millennia can take a chunk out of your ability to be in touch with reality, and I doubt the foundational generation of the Celestial Dragons were as thin-skinned and weak-necked as the stragglers of today. At least Doffy and Roci’s father and mother (his grandparents?) were willing to learn how to reconnect. It ended terribly, yes, but they tried.
The three are laughing, they get heard laughing, and one of the dragons turns to take a shot at them. A shot that would have missed by a mile of it was a live round. They laugh even harder and flutter away to tell Gabe’s dads that there are some snot-nosed (literally in one case) dragons down there.
Crocodile immediately susses out the snotty celestial as the one Luffy rearranged the facial structure of a few years back in Sabaody.
Oh, this was gonna be too much fun…

I like the fact that the World Government took the time to dress S-Flamingo in his genetic donor's hideous clothing. That, or they let him choose his clothes himself and it proved to be genetic.

Monty yawning and rubbing his sunglasses-obscured eyes as he goes down the stairs to the living room in the morning only for it to dawn on him that something is very, very wrong. And he doesn't even need his scanners to determine what it is.
The Christmas tree
Is
GONE.
They've been robbed! And not just their family either, nobody in town has their tree up! Monty even saw some of them in the trash! How could somebody throw out a Christmas tree like some sort of dead plant???
He asks the other Seraphim and their trees are all gone too. Apparently Christmas trees aren't an all-year thing. Which makes Monty remember that his parents said something last night about taking the tree down but he was too distracted by Sora Warrior of the Sea to really process what they were saying. And really why would you plant a tree in your house if you weren't going to commit to it for the long haul.
Gabe and Gryphon were the only ones whose tree was still standing. Or at least it was until they accidentally set the whole thing on fire with their back flames while running around the main tent that morning (the ornaments were fine, Mihawk chopped all the branches containing them and caught them before they hit the ground bc of course he did, it's Mihawk).
I can just hear the wails of confusion. What do you mean the Christmas trees are only for Christmas?? Why wouldn’t you want something so beautiful and bright in your house all the time?! What happened to proper home decor?? Having your own personal style?? Does Feng Shui mean nothing to you people?!?!
All the Seraphims get explanations but only Jimmy really seems to accept it! Bonney? Not so much. Monty is marching around the house demanding the reinstatement of the tree! Thea is fully going on strike and is taking Hestia and all her pretty gems with her! Ashken is hard at working trying to make his own Christmas tree out of just about anything Perona hasn’t taken out of reach! And Jinta!….he actually just misses the shining and sparkly lights. Nemo was pretty torn up about the whole thing which Crocodile quickly notice and snuck him off some ornaments which has worked pretty well so far.
The tree at Karai Bari stands as their last bastion of holiday hope, Gabe and Gryphon are gonna protect at all costs! They consider the tree their treasure and no pirate worth his salt, sugar or any spice would let someone take their treasure! They constantly circle the tree, pout-glaring at any and all suspicious activity until that little accident occurs. They’re very distressed about it and tearfully wonder if Santa is gonna hate them for hurting the tree but Mihawk quickly reassures them that they’re children. Their job is to make messes and mischief wherever they roam and Old Saint Nick of all people would understand that.
They cheer up after that and head off to go clean off, leaving Mihawk with the sudden realization that with the holiday season now truly over and done with, the boys will quickly be consumed by how dull January can be.
“Oh dear…”
